Syarifah D, Saniyyah DR, Oktari F, Arnila N, Adawiyah R, Syahfira RI, Simarmata V. 2022. Identification of predatory insect in wild and hybrid tembelekan (Lantana camara) refugia at Sriwijaya University. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-10 Tahun 2022, Palembang 27 Oktober 2022. pp. 403-413. Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Refugia plants have several benefits, including as a system mechanism that includes improving the availability of alternative foods such as pollen, nectar, and honeydew, shelters used by predatory insects to survive through changing seasons or shelter from environmental extremity factors or pesticides, and provide habitat for alternative hosts or prey. This observation activity aimed to identify the types of predatory insects on hybrid cultivated tembelekan (Lantana camara) plants and those that grow wild that come or land on the refugia at Sriwijaya University. Observations were made by direct observation method, then identified using the google lens application and reviewed with a literature study of the predatory insects found. Then the data that has been obtained is calculated using the species diversity index using the Shannon-Weiner index formula and the species evenness index using the Pielou's index. The results showed that there were 4 orders of predatory insects found in wild refugia, namely Araneae, Diptera, Odonata, and Hymenoptera. Meanwhile, in the cultivated hybrid refugia, there were 3 orders of predatory insects, namely Hymnoptera, Diptera, and Araneae with the highest abundance of individual insects in the order Hymenoptera. The diversity index value of predatory insects on cultivated refugia tembelekan was 1.131 while the diversity index value of wild-growing Lantana camara was 1.167. The evenness index value of predatory insect species in hybrid tembelekan was 0.582, while the value of wild-growing Lantana camara was 0.600. Thus, the diversity value of predatory insects in both refugia showed a value of 1 < H'< 3 which is moderate, where the distribution of the number of individuals of each species or general was moderate and the stability of the community was moderate. Efforts to utilize wild and cultivated hybrid refugia can maximize the conservation function of predatory insects

Pengaruh Iklim terhadap Pertumbuhan Komoditi Hortikultura di Kabupaten Enrekang, Sulawesi Selatan
Nur, R.D. (2023). The Influence of Climate on the Growth of Horticultural Commodities in Enrekang Regency, South Sulawesi. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-11 Tahun 2023, Palembang 21 Oktober 2023. (pp. 482-489). Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Indonesia is a country with a variety of agricultural commodities. The agricultural sector, including horticultural commodities, plays an important role in contributing to Gross Regional Domestic Product in Indonesia. Enrekang Regency is one of the regencies in South Sulawesi which produces various kinds of horticulture, mainly onions, cabbage and tomatoes. The impact of climate change on the agricultural sector is multi-dimensional, both in terms of agricultural infrastructure, production systems and the welfare of farmers and society in general. One of the challenges faced in horticultural productivity is climate change which affects the amount of horticultural crop production. In this research, we will examine the percentage influence of climate on several types of horticultural plants such as tomatoes, petai, beans and chilies. This research uses horticultural production data obtained from the Enrekang and South Sulawesi District Agriculture Services using documentation methods for 11 years (2011-2021). Then, data on weather conditions was taken from the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency for the last 11 years. These data are then processed with regression and correlation analysis using the SPSS application. The results of the regression analysis show that the overall influence of climate on 4 variables (Petai, Beans, Tomatoes, and Chilies) respectively is *R value =.492, R =.578, R =.465, and R =.514*. This shows that climate has a significant correlation and influence on the productivity of horticultural crops as much as 50% and then the remaining 50% is influenced by other variables outside the research. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out further studies regarding the factors that have an impact on the production of horticultural crops, such as land management and pest prevention
Pengelolaan Hama Terpadu pada Mentimun (Cucumis sativus L.) di Desa Tanjung Pering
Suparman, S., Niranda, N., Sagala, A.V., Muharrimah, B. A., Wulandari, L., Fatih, M. R. A., Repaldo, R., Abdesti, S. (2023). Integrated pest management on cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) in Tanjung Pering Village. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-11 Tahun 2023, Palembang 21 Oktober 2023. (pp. 716-733). Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) is a species belongs to pumpkin family or Cucurbitaceae, which is an edible fruit-producing plant. Cucumber has good prospects for cultivation, because there are quite a lot of demand, it can be marketed both domestically and internationally. However, until now the production of cucumbers is still low, an average of 10 tons/ha. In cultivating cucumbers, it is certainly inseparable from the presence of plant pests that can reduce the production of cucumber plants. Several types of important pests on cucumber plants are Diaphania indica, Aulacophora similis, and Bemisia tabaci. This field practice was carried out from May to August 2021. The method used was purvosive sampling using 5 mounds with 50 samples of cucumber plants (Cucumis sativus L.) per field practice is carried out by observing the types of attacking pest species that are commonly found in the field were Diaphania indica, Aulacophora similis, Tetranychus spp and Bemisia tabaci. This research aimed to evaluate and provide understanding for farmers in implementing Integrated Pest Management (IPM) as well as to determine the types of pests and the intensity of damage caused by the pests. Observations show that many farmers have implemented IPM, but most are not aware of the concept of IPM itself. Farmers who want to carry out IPM control need to understand more clearly the concept of IPM so that in carrying out control, it can be in accordance with IPM procedures and does not damage the productions of the cultivated plants themselves
Perkembangan Penyakit Hawar Daun (Bipolaris maydis ) pada Jagung (Zea mays L.) di Desa Tanjung Seteko Kecamatan Indralaya, Ogan Ilir
Hamidson, H., Umayah, A., Gunawan, B., Hasmeda, M., Arsi, A., & Ihsan, F. (2023). Development of leaf blight (bipolaris maydis) disease of corn (Zea mays L.) in Tanjung Seteko Village, Sub District Indralaya, District Ogan Ilir. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-11 Tahun 2023, Palembang 21 Oktober 2023. (pp. 318-326). Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Indralaya sub-district is a place where maize is cultivated continuously every season. This condition causes blight to develop easily. Maize (Zea mays L.) is a staple crop after rice. Leaf blight (Bipolaris maydis) is one of the main diseases that always often appear on corn in Tanjung Seteko Village, Indralaya District, Ogan Ilir Regency. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of development of leaf blight caused by B. maydis. Observations were made using the sampling method. The seeds used in both fields were superior quality hybrid yellow sweet corn varieties. The data collected were primary data in the form of direct observation of symptoms in the field and secondary data obtained from farmer interviews. The t-test analysis results were used with a 5% confidence level. Observations were made four times during one month following the age of the maize plants. Land selection of maize plants was observed by looking at the age of the plants, land one with the age of 30 days and land two with the age of 50 days after planting. Observations of leaf blight (B. maydis) development were found in all phases of maize growth, both vegetative and generative. Leaf blight spots developed continuously during maize plant growth. The spots developed longer and wider in 30 Hst old plants compared to 50 Hst old corn plants. The results of the t-test analysis of the average blight spot length, spot width showed a significant difference between the two fields observed. In the vegetative and generative phases, there are two common diseases that attack maize plants, namely the leaf blight pathogen (Bipolaris maydis) Understanding how to anticipate disease attacks has become the main thing for farmers, because possible losses caused by the emergence of diseases can be anticipated
Pertumbuhan Selada Red Romaine pada Intensitas Naungan dan Mulsa Organik Disertai Intensitas Penyiraman Berbeda
Zahwa, D.N.A., Lakitan, B., Muda, S.A., Ria, R.P., & Ramadhani, F. (2023). Red romaine lettuce growth on different shading intensities and organic mulching with watering intensities. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-11 Tahun 2023, Palembang 21 Oktober 2023. (pp. 135-144). Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Red romaine lettuce (Lactuca sativa L. var. longifolia) is a lettuce variety containing antioxidant, vitamin, and fiber contents that are beneficial in meeting dietary fiber requirements. This vegetable has the potential to be cultivated in suboptimal areas, including urban land. This study was aimed at identifying the impact of several shade intensities and organic mulch with watering intensities on romaine lettuce growth at early vegetative stages. The research followed a split plot design consisting of 2 treatments, namely shade intensity as the main plot (45% shade, 55% shade, and 80% shade) and organic mulch with watering intensities as subplots (without mulch with no intensive watering, organic mulch with no intensive watering, and organic mulch with intensive watering) and repeated 3 times. The results showed that shaded red romaine lettuce (45% shade, 55% shade, and 80% shade) increased growth at early vegetative growth. However, it was not statistically significant. Meanwhile, the application of organic mulch through intensive watering tends to increase shoot and root growth. Differences in shoot and root growth as a result of the treatments applied can also be shown through their visual appearance. Shade and mulch treatments by intensive watering were confirmed to be able to control the microclimate represented through media moisture. The 80% shading and the organic mulch with intensive watering were able to increase media moisture. In conclusion, 80% shading and organic mulch with watering improved red romaine lettuce growth at the early vegetative stage, although recovery to a lower shade is necessary to avoid inhibited root and shoot growth
