Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Fruit flies are one of the pests on eggplant plants with a wide distribution, in high populations fruit fly attacks can potentially damage fruit up to 100%. This survey aimed to determine the population of fruit flies on eggplant plants, gender and what species are attracted to methyl eugenol. The method used in carrying out this survey is a sampling method using methyl eugenol modified with a bottle called the hanging bottle trap or attractant trap with a diagonal pattern, which was carried out in 3 replications in Palem Raya Village, Tanjung Pering Village, and Ulak Segelung Village, Indralaya District. North, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra. The results of the three replicate surveys showed that the population of fruit flies on eggplant plantations in Ulak Segelung Village was higher than in Tanjung Pering Village and Palem Raya Village. The number of fruit fly population sampling in the village of Palem Raya there are 1,426 fruit flies. The fruit fly population in Tanjung Pering Village are 1,276 fruit flies, and in Ulak Segelung Village there are 2,215 fruit flies. Based on the survey conducted, it showed that fruit flies attract to methyl eugenol were male fruit flies with the species Bactrocera dorsalis. There was a decrease in the population in each sampling replication that had been carried out in 3 villages in Ogan Ilir Regency. The conclusion of this survey, that using of methyl eugenol is very effective to determined the population of fruit flies on eggplant plants. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-10 Tahun 2022, Palembang 27 Oktober 2022. pp. 318-326. Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Oranges are the fruit of the annual plant of various citrus species in the family Rutaceae. Citrus plants, of course, have problems with growth, one of which is disease. The purpose of the survey is to find out what symptoms and diseases exist in citrus plants and find out how farmers control plants that are attacked by diseases in Tanjung Pering, North Indralaya District, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra. The research was conducted using a field survey method directly by collecting photos of citrus plants that were attacked by the disease, conducting interviews with farmers directly. Synthetic control is a way of controlling disease by citrus farmers in Tanjung Pering. Spraying by farmers is not done on a scheduled basis. Pesticide spraying activities are only carried out when many diseases and pests threaten agricultural activities. In controlling disease in citrus plants, biological and chemical control are carried out. Disease control in citrus plants should be done by means of biological control
Optimalisasi Produktivitas Ternak pada Lahan Suboptimal melalui Aplikasi Probiotik
Wiryawan, I. K. D. (2023). Optimization of livestock production at suboptimal lands through the application of probiotics. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-11 Tahun 2023, Palembang 21 Oktober 2023. (pp. 756-763). Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Livestock development at suboptimal lands is less productive due to nutrition and environmental stress. Nutrition stress is caused by nutrients deficiency, toxin or antinutrients content of feed, whereas environmental stress is caused by improper livestock managements. Application of probiotics is one alternative that can be used to reduce the negative effects of nutrition and environmental stress. Probiotics supplementation in ruminants can be applied in calves as well as in adult cattle. Probiotics application in calves could reduce mortality rate due to diarrhea caused by pathogen or environtmental stress. Supplementation of probiotics in adult cattle could reduce the metabolic disorders such as acidosis, and methanogenesis. In addition, livestock development at suboptimal lands often uses feeds or forages containing toxins or antinutrients. Probiotic supplementation has the ability to reduce the toxins/antinutrients content in the feed which is beneficial to prevent its negative effects. Probiotic supplementation in chicken enhanced the productivity through the inhibition of pathogen infection. Based on our research, the livestock production at suboptimal lands can be optimized through the application of probiotics

Aladin, A., Modding, B., Syarif, T., Wiyani, L., & Gusnawati, G. (2023). Characterization of charcoal resulting from pyrolysis of coconut trunk sawdust as a halal bioadsorbent for the filtering process of virgin coconut oil (VCO). In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-11 Tahun 2023, Palembang 21 Oktober 2023. (pp. 104-109). Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).One of the coconut diversification products is Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO), which is not only used for food but also for health/medicine. In the crude VCO filtering process stage, it can be done using adsorbent materials, but the selection of adsorbents needs to be selective regarding halal elements. Carbon-based coconut stem sawdust waste can be processed using the pyrolysis method to produce charcoal as a bioadsorbent in the VCO filtration process. This research aimed to characterize charcoal resulting from pyrolysis of coconut sawdust waste. Pyrolysis was carried out in a simultaneous pyrolysis reactor operated at a temperature of 400 oC, time 2.5 hours, flow rate of inert gas (Argon) 2 liters/minute. Characterization of charcoal products is carried out using proximate analysis. The characteristics of charcoal obtained are Ash Content 4.11%, volatile matter 16.85%, fixed carbon 76.57%, total sulfur 0.02%, gross calorific value 7229%. Based on this characterization it can be seen that the fixed carbon content is quite high and the sulfur content Very low or nil indicates that the charcoal resulting from pyrolysis of coconut trunk sawdust has the potential to be used as a bioadsorbent material in the VCO purification process
