Population of fruit flies besides using methyl eugenol on chili plants in Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-10 Tahun 2022, Palembang 27 Oktober 2022. pp. 120-128. Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).The attack of fruit flies (Bactrocera spp.) on red chili plants is one of the important problems in the red chili production process. In general, farmers still choose to use synthetic pesticides in controlling fruit flies. However, this control method has a negative impact, namely it can cause resistance and resurgence of the target pest. This review aimed to provide information about the benefits of compounds through bioattractants combined through the application of attractant traps in controlling fruit flies. This writing method uses a literature study which is analyzed and developed into an easy-to-understand review. Extraction contains methyl eugenol reaching 70-96%. The liquid compound methyl eugenol can be an attraction for male fruit flies. The trap attractant system has the ability to stimulate the interest of fruit flies and can be used for a long time. The application of trap attractants causes sexual communication disorders so that mating disorders occur in fruit flies. The conclusion obtained from the writing of this scientific paper is that the methyl eugenol compound in chili plants can be used as a control system

Palembang: Penerbit dan Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI). Trichoderma is one of the fungi as ingredient main used for practicum and research in the laboratory, one of the practicum courses in the plant protection department is the concentration of disease in plants, disease practicum always requires fungal isolates for identification. The method is a randomized block design with two treatment factors. The first factor is incubator temperature of 24, 28 and 30 oC, and the second factor is storage time of 10, 20 days, and 1 month. Variables measured were fungal colony diameter, thickness of mycelium, and color of morphology of Trichoderma sp. The isolates tested were Trichoderma sp. with 10 replicates which were then stored in an incubator with a predetermined temperature, the observation time was carried out for three months. The purpose was to determine the effect of the incubator temperature for the growth of Trichoderma sp. on the length of storage, so that it could facilitate the course of practicum and research with sufficient availability of fungi collections in the laboratory. The benefit of this research is that the laboratory manager can find out the optimal temperature and storage time in the incubator for the collection of Trichoderma sp. Based on observations from this study, it is known that the best temperature for storage of Trichoderma sp. namely at a temperature of 30 oC with the diameter of the fungus growing faster, more spores and the morphological color of the fungus Trichoderma sp. brighter

Suretno ND, Tambunan RD, Novitasari E. 2022. Production capability of panicum maximum cv gatton grass on dry land of Lampung Province. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-10 Tahun 2022, Palembang 27 Oktober 2022. pp. 922-928. Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).The ability of forage plants to adapt differently to different types of soil. Soil type will affect the availability of groundwater, where groundwater is a limiting factor for plant growth. Limited groundwater causes drought stress in plants that disrupt plant growth and biomass production. Based on these differences in adaptability, this study aimed to determine the production capacity of Panicum maximum cv Gatton grass planted on dry land. The study was conducted at Natar Agricultural Science Park, South Lampung Regency, Lampung Province. The material used is Panicum maximum cv Gatton grass which was arranged in a completely randomized design with four replications. The planting distance of grass was 0.5 x 0.5 m2. Harvesting was performed when the grass was four months after planting, with five clumps per replication. The morphological character parameters measured included plant height, stem height, leaf length, leaf width, stem diameter, and the number of branches. Productivity parameters were seen based on the number of tillers and fresh clump weight. The results showed that for morphological parameters, as follows: the average plant height of Panicum maximum cv Gatton grass was 123.74 cm; stem height 90.65 cm; leaf length 26.64 cm; leaf width 1.46 cm; rod diameter 3.91 mm; and the number of branches 4.4. As for the productivity parameter, the average number of tillers was 42.15, with a fresh weight of grass per clump of 0.86 kg. It is concluded that Panicum maximum cv Gatton grass is a medium-type Bengal grass cultivar which has good production capability when planted on dry land

(Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-11 Tahun 2023, Palembang 21 Oktober 2023. (pp. 358-369). Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Suboptimal land, in general, refers to condition of the land not prefectly suitable for cultivation, including those containing propagul caused disease infestation. On pepper cultivation, very often occurs disease infestation such as antracnose desease. Crossing curly and cayenne peppers was intended to obtain accessions of curly pepper having fruit position upward such as in cayenne pepper that capable of avoiding several diseases infestation. The F3-seeds were prepared 3 years prior to this research with selection to choose plant genotypes having fruit position upward. Research was done in-cooperation with farmer at Kecamatan Gunung Megang, Muaraenim on December 2022 to May 2023 based on Randomized Block Design with two accessions and three blocks with 10-15 plants per plot. Research indicated that both accessions showed good growth and yield with relatively similar harvesting period and yield potential. Interestingly, we observed several recombinat plants having fruit shape identical to curly peppers with fruit position upward. The plants of CK3(2)xCR3(6) accession, however had more slender fruit shape as compared to CK6(8)xCR6(4) accession. Furthermore observation indicated the presence of segregation of this character. Accession of CK3(2)xCR3(6) showed higher segregation value of 50% than CK6(8)xCR6(4) accession with segregation value of 25%

Sulistyani DP, Napoleon A, Hermawan A, Bakri B, Warsito W, Riza MFR. 2022. Liquid organic fertilizer (Poc) from tofu liquid waste with banana hump decomposer in pokcay plant growth. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-10 Tahun 2022, Palembang 27 Oktober 2022. pp. 129-135. Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Tofu liquid waste can be used as a new alternative that can be used as liquid organic fertilizer because in the tofu liquid waste it has various nutrients needed for the plant growth process. Based on the research, it shows that the nutrient content in tofu liquid waste before and after liquid fertilizer is made does not meet the standard of liquid fertilizer. To improve the quality of tofu liquid waste as liquid fertilizer, one of them is the addition of local microorganisms (MOL) from banana hump. The specific purpose of the study was to determine the effect of liquid organic fertilizer from tofu liquid waste with the addition of a banana hump decomposer on pokcay plants. Liquid organic fertilizer is one of the efforts to improve the physical and chemical properties of the soil, one of which is Ultisol, so it is expected to increase the growth of pokcay plants to be applied. Ultisols include soils that have very low nutrients and high soil acidity. Poor macronutrient content. Therefore, researchers made efforts so that ultisols could increase the availability of soil nutrients. Liquid organic fertilizer has many advantages, namely the ease of application to soil and plants, which only needs to be watered. The results showed that there was an effect of the dose of liquid organic fertilizer sprinkled on the soil planted with pokcay on the growth, namely plant height, number of leaves, leaf green level, wet weight and dry weight
Identifikasi Pencemaran pada Lahan Basah (Wetland): Baseline Data dalam Mengatasi Ancaman Lingkungan untuk Ketahanan dan Keamanan Pangan
Hidayati NV. 2022. Identification of pollution in wetlands: baseline data in addressing environmental threats for food safety and security. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-10 Tahun 2022, Palembang 27 Oktober 2022. pp. 27-39. Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Wetlands include swamps, marshes, billabongs, lakes, salt marshes, mud flats, mangroves, coral reefs, and peat swamps. Located in the transition between aquatic and terrestrial environments and having features of both, wetlands are considered to be one of the most productive ecosystems in the world. Wetlands provide important ecosystem services that provide economic, social, environmental, and cultural benefits. On the other hand, wetlands act as traps for pollutants, including heavy metals, plastics, and pesticides. These pollutants come from point and non-point sources, both terrestrial and marine. Development activities, draining water, urbanization, industry, and poor agricultural practices have been the cause of pollution and even damage to wetlands and their ecosystem functions. Several studies show the accumulation of these pollutants in aquatic organisms, including consumption fish that enter through food webs. It is crucial to understand the accumulation of contaminants through food webs because once these pollutants reach consumers above them, including humans, they can produce chronic effects and even death. Thus, more serious attention needs to be given to wetland management within the framework of food safety and security
