Pengaruh Lama Fermentasi Kulit Kopi Robusta dan Arabika terhadap Mutu Teh Cascara Serta Uji Keama

Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).The effect of fermentation time of robusta and arabica coffee skin on cascara tea quality and safety was studied in this research. Robusta and arabica coffee skin were collected from Semendo area in Muara Enim District, South Sumatera Province, whereas cascara tea was then produced later. A non factorial completely randomized design was used and one factor was investigated, namely fermentation time of coffee skin (cascara). There were 8 factor levels, including non-fermented arabica cascara, 2, 4 and 6-hour fermented arabica cascara, non fermented Robusta cascara, 2, 4 and 6-hour fermented Robusta cascara. All experiment was carried out in triplicates. Observed parameters were physical (color), chemical (water content, pH value and total phenol content) as well as safety (metal impurities, including Pb, Cu, Zn, Hg and As content) characteristics. The results showed that fermentation time significantly decreased lightness, hue, water content, pH value and total phenol content of brewed tea, whereas chroma increased significantly. In conclusion, the best treatment factor for Robusta cascara was the one that was fermented for 4 hours with the following characteristics: lightness 40.77%, hue 62.45O, water content 5.12%, pH 4.72, and total phenol content 1.92 mgGAE/g, whereas the best treatment factor for Arabica cascara was the one that was fermented for 4 hours with the following characteristics: lightness 42.77%, hue 63.45O, water content 5.42%, pH 4.12, and total phenol content 2.04 mgGAE/g. Furthermore, brewed tea both in Robusta and Arabica contained lower metal impurities compared to SNI standar
Pengaruh Beberapa Campuran Kompos Cair dengan Penambahan Kulit Pisang dan Kulit Ubi terhadap Pertumbuhan, Produktivitas dan Kualitas Kale Red Rubel (Brassica napus var. pabularia)

Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).This research was conducted with the aim of determining the effect of several mixtures of liquid compost with the addition of banana peel and sweet potato peel on the growth, productivity, and quantity of red ruble kale (Brassica napus var. pabularia), as well as identifying the treatment that can produce red ruble kale with the highest productivity and plant quality. The research method used was a randomized block design (RBD) with 4 treatments of mixed compost materials, namely urine+cow milk+free-range chicken egg (UST), urine+cow milk+free-range chicken egg+banana peel (UST+BP), urine+cow milk+free-range chicken egg+banana peel (UST+KP), urine+cow milk+free-range chicken egg+banana peel+sweet potato peel (UST+BP+SP), repeated six times and multiplied by two for quantity and quality testing, resulting in 48 experimental units. Vitamin C test was used as a quality parameter, productivity parameters included wet weight harvest index and R/S ratio, and growth parameters included leaf number, plant height, and stem diameter. Data were analyzed using Anova variance test. Based on the results of the variance test, the mixture of several compost materials had a significant effect on growth parameters, and then had a significant effect on productivity parameters such as wet weight harvest index, but did not show a significant difference for harvest index, R/S ratio. In terms of vitamin C content, it showed significant results, while for anthocyanin parameters, the best results were obtained from the treatment of urine+cow milk+free-range chicken egg+sweet potato peel (UST+KU)

Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI)The roots of the oil palm plant grow from the base of the stem and spread to the sides and consist of primary, secondary, tertiary, and quarter roots. NPK is a macro nutrient needed by oil palm plants to grow and produce good production. The purpose of this study was to study the effect of soil NPK nutrients on the distribution patterns of oil palm roots, both primary, secondary and tertiary roots at different soil spacings and depths. This study used a survey method by observing. The data obtained are in the form of distribution of roots, N-Total, Available P, and Potassium which are presented in the form of tables and figures and are discussed in a descriptive way. To determine the relationship between roots and NPK, Pearson Correlation (r) and linear regression tests were carried out. The results showed that the distribution of primary, secondary, and tertiary roots of oil palm plants was higher at a distance of 100 cm and a depth of 0-30 cm and 31-60 cm. the total distribution of primary, secondary, and tertiary roots in plants 1, 2, and 3 based on distance and depth, the highest root distribution was obtained, namely in plant 3 with a depth of 0-30 cm and a distance of 100 cm, namely 7.839 g/dm3. Soil chemical properties in the form of nutrients N and P have a positive correlation with the distribution of oil palm roots
Efektivitas Amelioran pada Tanah Pasiran untuk Meningkatkan Pertumbuhan dan Serapan NP Tanaman Jagung Manis

Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Sandy soil, which is porous and has a very low water holding capacity, is the main obstacle to increasing soil fertility and the growth of sweet corn plants. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of several types of ameliorants in increasing the growth and uptake of NP nutrients by sweet corn plants in sandy soil. The research was conducted in Moncok Karya, Pejeruk Karya Village, Ampenan District, and Mataram City from May to July 2023. The experiment was arranged using a randomized block design consisting of five ameliorant treatments, namely PO: Control (without ameliorant), PA: rice husk charcoal, PK: compost, PS: cow manure, and PC: a mixture of rice husk charcoal, compost, and cow manure (1:1:1) with a dose of 20 tons/ha. The results showed that the mixture of ameliorant rice husk charcoal, compost, and cow manure had an effect on the height and number of leaves of sweet corn plants at 2, 4, and 6 WAP, stover weight per plant, nutrient uptake, and mycorrhizal development. Application of 20 tons per ha of mixed ameliorant increased plant height, number of leaves, the concentration of available P, and total N in the soil, N and P uptake by plants, the number of spores and root colonization, and the weight of wet and dry stover plants in sandy soil. Amelioran formulation of a mixture of 25% cow manure + 25% compost + 25% rice husk charcoal provides the highest concentration of soil nutrients, plant nutrient uptake, and growth of sweet corn

This can also have an impact on better plant growth response and increased soil fertility. This study aimed to determine the effect of ameliorant plus mycorrhizal doses on the growth response and nutrient uptake of glutinous corn on sandy soil. The experiment was conducted in Moncok Karya, Pejeruk Karya Village, Ampenan District, Mataram City, from May to July 2023. The research used a randomized block design consisting of five treatment, namely D0: control (without ameliorant), D1: dose of ameliorant 5 tons/ha, D2: dose of ameliorant 10 tons/ha, D3: dose of ameliorant 15 tons/ha, and D4: dose of ameliorant 20 tons/ha. The results showed that the treatment dose of 20 tons/ha of ameliorant had a significant effect on increasing the height and number of plant leaves, stover weight per plant, nutrient uptake and mycorrhizal development at 42 days after planting compared to other dose treatments. The best dose of ameliorant that can increase growth response and plant nutrient uptake is 20 tons/ha

The current problem related to the growth of catfish (C. gariepinus) seeds is less than optimal so it does not reach the required production target. Therefore,additional nutrition is needed from commercial pellets combined with the use of earthworms (Lumbricus rubellus). This study aimed to determine the effect of combined feed of commercial pellets and earthworms (L. rubellus) on efforts to improve feed efficiency, growth and survival rate of sangkuriang catfish fry (C. gariepinus). The research used was experimental method, starting from the preparation of fish rearing containers, acclimatization and stocking of fish fry, rearing and treatment harvesting, and data analysis. There were two treatments used, namely P0 (commercial pellets) and P1 (commercial pellets 25% and earthworms 75%). Variables observed included growth, survival rate, and feed efficiency. The results of the study showed that the absolute length growth, absolute weight growth, survival rate and feed efficiency of sangkuriang catfish (C. gariepinus) fry was better in P1 with using commercial pellets combined with earthworms (L. rubellus) (P1). Feeding a combination of commercial pellets and earthworms (L. rubellus) in the right way affects better growth, higher feed efficiency, high survival and good water quality values to support the growth of sangkuriang catfish fry

Synthetic pesticides, on the other hand, harm both the environment and farmers. This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of insecticides derived from betel leaf plants in managing pests at different treatment levels. The observation method, or direct observation, was employed in this study to study rampai and cayenne pepper. Aphis gossypii, Tapinoma sp., Sarcophaga sp., Araneus sp., Neoscona sp., Mimetus sp., Paidiscura sp., Oxyopes sp., Agraulis sp., Syrphidae sp. (larvae), Coccinellidae sp. (pupae), and Pseudococcus sp. are the types of insects observed on cayenne pepper, according to the results of observations. In the meantime, Trichplusai ni and Planococcus sp. are the bug species found on rampai. These insects are pollinators, predators, and insect pests. The concentration at which a plant-based insecticide derived from betel leaf extract can reduce the number of insect pests, including Aphis gossypii, on cayenne pepper increases
Pengaruh Penambahan Tepung Tulang Ikan Gabus (Channa striata) terhadap Karakteristik Mie Basah Labu Kuning

Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).This study aimed to find out the effect of the addition of snakehead fish bone meal on the characteristics of pumpkin wet noodles. This study used a Complete Non-Factorial Randomized Design (RALNF) with one treatment factor, namely the addition of snakehead fish bone meal with repeats as much as 3 times. The concentration of addition of snakehead fish bone meal is 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%.25%. The parameters observed in the study were physical parameters and chemical parameters. The results showed that the addition of snakehead fish bone meal had a real effect on the physical characteristics of color, hardness, tensile strength and chemical characteristics, namely water content, ash content, calcium content and protein content of pumpkin wet noodle. The results showed that the higher the addition of snakehead fish bone meal, the increase in hardness value, water content, ash content, protein content in pumpkin wet noodles consecutively 26.47 gf to 34.93 gf, 58.57% to 70.49%, 0.91% to 5.63%, 8.95% to 10.74%. The average of calcium content in wet noodles of pumpkin increased by 2.46% to 5.91 along with the higher addition of snakehead fish bone meal. The strong average value of wet noodle pull decreased along with the addition of snakehead fish bone meal by 0.057 MPa to 0.027 MPa

The purpose of this study was to determine and determine the effectiveness of Compound NPK Fertilizers and Guano Fertilizers which gave the best response to growth and increased production of zucchini (Cucurbita pepo L.) plants. The research has been carried out in one of the resident’s lands. Location in Perumnas Talang Kelapa Block 3 RT 61 NO. 41 RW 08 Alang-Alang Lebar Subdistrict, Palembang City, Sounth Sumatra in March until with May 2022. This study used a Split Plot Design with 9 treatment combinations which were repeated 3 times, resulting, in 27 treatment units with 3 sample plants. These are as follows: Main Plot For Compound NPK Fertilizer (N) consisting of 3 levels N1= 150 kg/ha, N2= 200 kg/ha, N3 = 250 kg/ha. Sub-plots for providing Guano Fertilizer (O)= terdin of 3 levels O1= 2,5 tons/ha, O2= 5 tons/ha, O3= 7,5 tons/ha. The variables observed were: plant height (cm), fruit diameter (cm), fruit length (cm), number of fruit per plot (fruit), fruit weight per plot (kg). The results showed that the treatment of compound NPK Fertilizer dosage of 250 kg/ha with Guano Fertilizer at a dose of 5 tons/ha gave the highest yield at fruit weight per plot 3,16 kg/plot or the equivalent of 6,32 tons/ha
