Halimi, E. S., Puteri, E. D., Adriansyah, F., & Atmi, E. M. (2024). Evaluation on growth production and selection of corn plants generation F1-F2 from the cross of pop-corn and purple-corn. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-12 Tahun 2024, Palembang 21 Oktober 2024. (pp. 335–343). Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Pop-corn is one of the popular agricultural products as a snack ingredient. Most of the varieties are yellow, white, and not as a purple corn. The research objectives was to determine the growth, production of F1 maize plants and segregation, as well as to produce F2 generation seeds from the crossing of “Orange Featured”, “King Pop” and “Yellow Featured” variety. The research began with a cross between 3 pop-corn accessions as female elders and purple maize as male elders. In this research, the resulted for that cross were planted in a Randomized Block Design. Result of this research indicated that F1-plants generation were capable to grow and produce pop-corn and several cobs with purple F2-seeds for next research. Average plant height at 63-days reached 150.16-179.86 cm, with ear position at 79.93-95.36 cm. Male and female flower anthesis were at 45 and 54 days. The plant height of JPUU-II accession of 150.16 cm was the lowest as compare to others. Observation on production variables resulted these three accessions had about similar dry-weight, number of seed, and weight of 100-seeds, each 67.56-73.63 g/cob, 308-314 seeds/cob and 24.16- 25.63 g/100-seeds. The results of this research showed that F1 generation plants resulting from crossing 3 accessions with purple corn can grow and produce well. The variety “Yelllow seed” has the potential to be a higher-yielding purple corn. Purple color, especially leaf bone color, is used as a variable in the purple maize selection program, because it corresponds to the color of the seeds produced

(Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-10 Tahun 2022, Palembang 27 Oktober 2022. pp. 97-104. Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Arabica coffee plantation in Perhutani land is generally under several types of shade trees, so the potential for soil fertility under each type of shade tree will be different. Differences in soil fertility in coffee plantations under several types of shade trees will cause variations in coffee yield. This study aimed to analyze the yield of Arabica coffee plants on several types of shade trees. The research was conducted in Pangalengan, Bandung Regency, West Java Province, from January to December 2020 using the survey method. The plant sample population was Arabica coffee grown under four types of shade trees, namely: pine (Pinus merkusii), red cedar (Toona sureni), tembusu (Fagraea fragrans), and rainbow eucalyptus (Eucalyptus deglupta). Determination of the research location was carried out purposively according to the type of plant that had been determined as a shade plant. Meanwhile, the determination of coffee plants as an example of observation was carried out by simple random sampling. The results showed that the litter of leda, suren, and tembusu trees has the potential to contribute quite a lot of organic matter seen from the production of litter per month which is quite high with high nutrient content and can decompose faster. While the pine shade has less litter and a longer decomposition process. The highest yield of Arabica coffee cherry was in the shade of Leda (4.82 kg/tree), then tembusu (3.86 kg/tree), pine (2.27 kg/tree), and suren (2.18 kg/tree)

Manambangtua AP, Hidayat TS. 2022. The effect of watering on the germination speed and the germination of tall coconut seeds. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-10 Tahun 2022, Palembang 27 Oktober 2022. pp. 736-741. Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).At this time the government is intensifying coconut planting to be developed in the community, so good quality seeds are needed. To get quality seeds, it is necessary to pay attention to handling the provision of good and correct seeds, so that good quality seeds are obtained that have the criteria uniform germination speed and high germination rate. Availability of water is an absolute thing in the provision of seeds. At the beginning of nursery, farmers paid less attention to watering the seeds, they think that the seeds in the nursery do not need a lot of water. Water plays an important role in plant growth however it is necessary to know whether water also plays a role in the initial growth of coconut seeds in the nursery. This study aimed to determine the role of water for coconut seeds in the early growth in the nursery. The research was carried out at the Balitpalma Experimental Garden, Mapanget, North Sulawesi. Held in August 2019 – October 2019. The study used two treatments consisting of: a) watered coconut seeds and b) unwatered coconut seeds, each treatment contained 75 plants so that 150 coconut seeds were used, then the independent t-test was conducted. The watering treatment showed no significant difference in the speed of germination. The germination rate showed a significant difference, a high value was obtained in the watering treatment. The watering treatment showed that the results were not significantly different from the speed of germination, but significantly different to the germination rate

Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Kissing gourami (Helostoma temminckii) is a type of freshwater fish whose natural habitat is in tropical climates, specifically Southeast Asia. This research aimed to investigate the effect of stocking density on the growth and survival of Kissing gourami (H. temminckii) in Indralaya. Parameters observed during research included absolute length, absolute weight, feed efficiency, survival and water quality. The results showed that the growth in length, weight, feed efficiency and survival rate of tambakan fish (H. temminckii) in the PA treatment with a stocking density of 40 fish (2 L-1) got the best value, namely with an absolute length of 2.7 cm, weight absolute 1.15 g, feed efficiency 16.83%, and survival 85%. Water quality parameters are within the acceptable range, temperature 25.4-31.3°C, pH 6.77-8.20, dissolved oxygen 2.3-3.3 mg L-1, ammonia 0.018-0.031 mg L-1. Stocking density significantly influences the growth and survival of Kissing gourami. Low density (PA) produces better growth and higher feed efficiency than high density (PB). This research provides insight into optimizing stocking density in pond fish cultivation to increase growth and survival
Pengaruh Aplikasi Pupuk Organik dan Mikoriza terhadap Vigor Benih Kakao Terdeteriorasi
Sasmita KD, Sobari I. 2022. The effect of organic fertilizer and mycorrhiza application on the vigor of deteriorated cocoa seed. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-10 Tahun 2022, Palembang 27 Oktober 2022. pp. 263-273. Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).The location of the source of cocoa seeds, which is far from the nursery, needs a proper seed storage process to prevent seed damage due to the delay in sowing. During storage, cocoa seeds undergo various processes that affect the content of their food reserves and have an impact on seed germination and vigor. The decrease in seed viability due to storage is unavoidable, but maintaining its vigor can be achieved by using appropriate planting media with the application of organic fertilizers and arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF). This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of organic fertilizers and AMF application on planting media in improving the vigor of deteriorated cocoa seeds due to storage. The experiment was conducted at the Indonesian Industrial and Beverage Crops Research Institute, Sukabumi, West Java, from January to August 2020. The research design used was a split-split plot with three replications. The main plot is the application of organic fertilizers, consisting of: without organic fertilizers and with organic fertilizers. Sub-plots were seed storage, consisting of: without storage and two weeks of storage, while sub-plots were AMF applications, consisting of: without AMF, AMF A, and AMF B. The parameter observed was the vigor of cocoa seedlings. The experiment results showed that the application of organic fertilizers was able to increase the number of leaves, shoot dry weight, and root loss ratio in deteriorated seedlings that were stored for two weeks. AMF application was able to increase the leaf width in seeds that were not stored, but AMF did not improve the vigor of seeds that underwent storage. Keywords: media tanam, penyimpanan benih, pertumbuhan benih
