Fostering Extensive Reading Comprehension through the Medium of Let's Read†Application
No full textThe aim of this study was to measure the effectiveness of “Let's Readâ€application in fostering students' Extensive Reading comprehension. Two classess of grade 8 students of SMP Muhammadiyah 03 Tangerang participated as the sample of this study, divided into experimental class and control class each of which was occupied by 34 students. These two classes were chosen by using cluster random sampling out of totally 4 classes of grade 8. This quantitative research used quasi-experimental with two-groups post-test only design. The data were gathered by using Reading Comprehension post-test and a questionnaire. All collected data of the post-test were analyzed statistically by using independent t-test. The analysis of the findings revealed that experimental group students' post-test achievement exceeded 12.5 points the achievement of control gorup students'. Meanwile, in the statistical analysis, in the significance level of 5% ( = 5% degree of freedom), t-obtained of 5.677 was higher than t-table of 1.996 (from df = 66). Besides, the table also showed that the sig. (2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.05. Therefore, Ha was accepted and H0 was rejected. Experimental group students' responses to the questionnaire showed that the majority of them expressed that Let's Read application benefitted them in the activities of extensive reading practices in which foe example their reading interest increased after learning reading through this app. Based on these findings, this study concluded that Let's Read application was an effective learning medium in fostering students' extensive reading comprehension
Integrating Islamic Values in English Learning through Islamic Stories: Students' Perspective
No full textThis research was aimed to examine students' perspective in the integration of Islamic values into English learning through Islamic short-stories. This was an inferential quantitative method by using percentages in reporting the data. The participants were 31 grade X students from Islamic High School Al-Ghozali, Gunung Sindur, West java, Indonesia. In collecting the data, a 5-Likert Scale questionnaire ranging from ‘strongly agree' (5) to ‘strongly disagree' (1) used as the instrument. This questionnaire was firslty validated through face-validity. There were 14 items consisted of 10 positive statements and 4 negative ones modified in this questionnaire. The data were analyzed quantitatively and then reported in narratives. The results of data analysis revealed that majority of the students gave positive perspective to the integration of Islamic values into English class through Islamic stories. Most of them agreed that the learning was fun, enjoyable, helped them to understand English better, enriched their vocabularies and made them able to differentiate between Western and Islamic cultures and apply all good lessons in their daily live
INTEGRATING HERMENEUTICS IN QUR'ANIC STUDY: A THOUGHT ANALYSIS OF BINTU SHĀṬĪ'
Get PDFThis article discusses the integration of hermeneutics in Quranic studies. Some Muslim scholars consider hermeneutics to be one of the partners in interpreting the Quran. One of the contemporary Muslim intellectuals who has quite influential hermeneutical ideas is Bintu SyÄá¹Ä«'. The research in this paper is classified as qualitative literature research with a socio-historical approach and uses Gadamer's theory to analyze the influence of Bintu SyÄá¹Ä«''s hermeneutical concept. The results of this study conclude two things, namely: first, Bintu ShÄá¹Ä«''s method of interpretation in her tafsir is influenced by her education and her husband AmÄ«n al-KhÅ«lÄ« so that Bintu ShÄá¹Ä«''s method in interpreting the Qur'an leans towards literary studies to reveal the bayani of the Qur'an. Penerapan Strategi Komunikasi Lembaga Dakwah Kampus Sebagai Sarana Aktivis Dakwah di IAIN Langsa
No full textWhen it comes to preach (da'wah), it can be challenging to connect with university students as the main target audience, particularly those who are not very involved in religious activities. Additionally, there are limitations in terms of human resources, budget, and infrastructure that can impact the implementation of effective communication tactics. This study aims to analyze the communication strategies utilized by campus da'wah institutions as a means of assistance for da'wah activists at IAIN Langsa. The data was obtained through in-depth interviews with da'wah institution managers and activists, as well as participatory observation of da'wah activities. The results show that effective communication strategies play a vital role in extending the reach of da'wah, reinforcing the Islamic identity of students, and boosting participation in da'wah activities. The importance of improving communication strategies to boost the impact of da'wah on campus and promoting a deeper understanding of the role of da'wah institutions in molding a community based on Islamic values at IAIN Langsa is highlighted by this research
Pengaruh Penggunaan Media Sosial terhadap Interaksi Sosial dikalangan Mahasiswa
No full textThe use of social media has become a significant phenomenon among college students today. Social media offers a platform to communicate, share information, and build relationships virtually. However, the impact of intensive use of social media on social interaction among students is still a matter of debate. This study aims to investigate how the use of social media affects social interaction among students. This study uses a quantitative approach by distributing questionnaires to a sample of students from various majors at several universities. The questionnaire was designed to collect data on the frequency of social media use, the types of social media used, and their social interaction patterns in daily life. Data analysis was carried out to determine the correlation between the variables of social media use and the level of social interaction among students. The results of the study showed that there was a significant correlation between the use of social media and student social interaction patterns. Students who use high-intensity social media tend to have more frequent social interactions through digital platforms compared to face-to-face interactions. However, social media use is also associated with a decrease in the ability to develop in-person interpersonal communication skills. In addition, the findings also show variations in the impact of social media use depending on the type of platform used, with visual social media such as Instagram tending to influence students' feelings and self-image more than text social media such as Twitter. The study provides a deeper understanding of how social media use affects social interaction among college students. The implications of this study highlight the need for a balanced approach to the use of social media in order to support the development of healthy and sustainable social interactions among students. Future research can further explore the psychological and social aspects of social media use to broaden our understanding of the dynamics of interpersonal relationships in this digital age

Analisis Kemampuan Berpikir Kritis dan Hambatan Belajar Siswa Kelas XI Materi Translasi
Get PDFThis research aims to identify and analyze students' critical thinking skills and learning barriers in learning mathematics translation material. The concept of translation is fundamental for students who want to master geometric transformations. Students must understand the basics of translation because this understanding of translation will be needed at a higher level. However, many students still experience obstacles in understanding translation material. Students experience learning impediments because of the difference between the expected achievements of critical thinking skill indicators, interpretation, analysis, evaluation, and inference, and the actual results. This research uses a qualitative descriptive research methodology, utilizing data collection techniques such as interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive methods with 30 class XI-1 students as participants. Triangulation was used in the data collection process, which involved using teacher and student interviews, administering diagnostic tests, and textbook analysis (document analysis). The research results show that the average percentage of students' critical thinking abilities from the four indicators is 41.665%. Ontogenic, didactic, and epistemological barriers cause the low critical thinking skills of class XI-1 in studying translation. The research results can be used as considerations for teachers in designing learning to improve critical thinking skills and reduce students' learning barriers in learning translational material
Aplikasi Pembelajaran dengan Construct 2 pada Materi Kesebangunan sesuai Kurikulum Merdeka
Get PDFPenelitian ini dilatarbelakangi peserta didik yang gemar bermain game dan pembelajaran berbasis smartphone. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengembangkan, mengetahui kevalidan dan kepraktisan aplikasi pembelajaran Construct 2 pada materi kesebangunan sesuai Kurikulum Merdeka.
Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan dengan model ADDIE. Subjek penelitian ini peserta didik kelas VIII SMP Negeri 3 Pleret. Aplikasi pembelajaran yang dikembangkan untuk materi kesebangunan kelas VIII dan disertai soal pembelajaran berbentuk pilihan ganda yang disajikan dalam game. Metode pengumpulan data yakni wawancara, observasi dan angket. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah pedoman wawancara, dokumentasi dan instrumen angket.
Hasil penelitian sebagai berikut: (1) Langkah-langkah dalam mengembangkan aplikasi pada penelitian ini nya adalah Analysis (Analisis), Design (perancangan), Development (pengembangan), Implementation (implementasi), Evaluation (evaluasi). (2) Aplikasi dinilai sangat valid dari segi materi dan media dengan rata-rata 89,76% oleh ahli materi dan rata-rata sebesar 91,96% sehingga media dinyatakan layak. (3) Aplikasi dinilai sangat praktis baik dari uji kelas kecil maupun besar dengan rata-rata nilai 93,10% sehingga media dinyatakan layak. Penelitian hanya terbatas pada uji kelayakan media

Dengan demikian tujuan dari penelitian ini ialah untuk mengidentifikasi dan mendekripsikan perencanaan pembelajaran fiqih, implementasinya dan hasil implementasi pembelajaran fiqih dalam membangun nilai-nilai ibadah pada peserta didik MTsN Kabupaten Aceh Tamiang. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif, dan jenis penelitian ini adalah studi multi situs. Untuk memperoleh data peneliti menggunakan metode wawancara dan dokumentasi. Perencanaan pembelajaran fiqih dalam membangun nilai-nilai ibadah pada peserta didik MTsN Kabupaten Aceh Tamiang meliputi perencanaan dengan cara menganalisis tujuan pembelajaran, menentukan materi pembelajaran, membuat rencana pembelajaran dan menggunakan metode serta strategi pembelajaran yang sesuai dan mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai ibadah dalam kegiatan pembelajaran. Pelaksanaan pembelajaran dilakukan dengan beberapa tahapan, diantaranya yaitu memahami isi kurikulum dan disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan dan kondisi peserta didik. Hasil pelaksanaan pembelajaran fiqih dalam membangun nilai-nilai ibadah pada peserta didik MTsN Kabupaten Aceh Tamiang terlihat dari perubahan tingkah laku yang ditunjukkan oleh peserta didik yang bersumber dari nilai-nilai ibadah seperti nilai-nilai ketakwaan, kedisiplinan, keikhlasan, kesabaran, dan rasa syukur dalam berbagai aspek kehidupan, termasuk dalam interaksi dengan orang lain, pendidikan, dan kegiatan sosial

Get PDFThe purpose of this study is to analyze SMKN is one of the formal educational institutions that must be able to answer the needs and needs of new communities (users) according to market conditions, to be able to organize education autonomously and comprehensively, then human resources such as principals are capital and assets in education if they can work and innovate well. This research aims to see: 1) How to plan principal management in innovating SMKN in Jambi Province, 2) How to organize principal management in making SMKN innovations in Jambi Province, 3) How to overcome the constraints of principal management in making SMKN innovations in Jambi Province, and 4)How the results / evaluation of principal management in making SMKN innovations in Jambi Province. By using a qualitative approach, researchers are incriminated directly with the object of research to ensure the correctness and validity of the data obtained in the field. The results of the research are expected to be a reference from the principal's management in carrying out innovations in their schools so that they can maximally use existing resources and can improve their quality.

ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan tentang SMKN di Provinsi Jambi yang belum efektif dalam melakukan inovasi disebabkan oleh faktor internal dan eksternal, ingin menemukan dan menentukan perencanaan (Planning). Pengorganisasian (Organizing), pelaksanaan (actuating), dan pengawasan (controlling), SMKN dalam pengelolaan dan inovasi di Provinsi Jambi, ingin menemukan tentang konsep pengelolaan inovasi SMKN di Provinsi Jambi. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan jenis deskriptif. Diharapkan peneliti mendapat gambaran mengenai kualitas, realitas, dan persepsi sasaran peneliti. Teknik pengumpulan dilakukan dengan cara observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil dari penelitian ini belum efektif karena faktor internal dan eksternal yang ada pada SMKN. Perencanaan kepala sekolah dalam melakukan inovasi sudah didasarkan pada tujuan yang jelas tapi belum optimal, dari aspek sumber daya manusia dan dukungan dana yang tidak maksimal. Pengorganisasian SMKN sudah fungsional pembagian kerja sudah tercapai pedoman kerja yang belum maksimal. Pelaksanaan inovasi SMKN sudah bekerjasama dengan pihak luar sekolah, belum menghasilkan lulusan yang sesuai dengan standard nasional yaitu menghasilkan alumni yang siap kerja, Pengawasan dalam pengelolan di SMKN terhadap inovasi pembelajaran kurang maksimal, dikarenakan pengawasan yang tidak dilakukan secara berkesinambungan. Rekomendeasi hasil penelitian ini peneliti merekomendasikan khusus kepada kepala sekola, guru, dan tenaga administrasi di SMKN 1 Merangin, SMKN 1 Tanjung Jabung Timur, SMKN 2 Kota Jambi Serta lembaga pendidikan baik formal maupun non formal di Provinsi.
