Myiasis pada Ruminansia: Diagnosis, Manajemen Terapi dan Pencegahan: Myiasis in ruminants: Diagnosis, Therapy andPrevention Management
Myiasis is defined as a condition in which maggots are from certain fly species that utilize living, dead, or necrotic tissue from the host as a feed source for their growth and development and attack all types of vertebrate animals that are warm-blooded including humans. myiasis is often found in domestic animals in tropical regions throughout the world, especially in developing countries such as Indonesia and is generally associated with low levels of welfare of farmers. The diagnosis of myiasis is based on a clinical examination of wound bleeding, fever, a characteristic odor, the discovery of exudates and maggots in the wound. Myiasis treatment is generally local followed by manual removal of larvae and necrotic tissue debris. Systemic treatment usually uses broad-spectrum antibiotics especially when secondary infections occur. Disease prevention can be done by providing information to farmers to pay attention to and carry out livestock sanitation, pens, the surrounding environment and control flies using various methods.

oai:ojs.pkp.sfu.ca:article/2The fermentation process is an activity of microorganisms that make products with characteristics of texture, flavor, aroma and changes in nutrient quality that better than the original raw material. It is also protein process of developing of protein from the material. This study uses a Completely Randomized Design with four treatments. P0 = Unfermented winged seeds, P1 = Winged seeds + 0,1% Trichoderma viride mushroom (Tv), P2 = Winged seeds + 0,2% Trichoderma viride mushroom (Tv), P3 = Winged seeds + 0,3% Trichoderma viride mushroom (Tv). The material used was crushed winged seeds as substrates that mixed to be homogenized. One hundred gr of each sample from every treatment was weighed, put into a perforated plastic bag (to create anaerobic atmosphere) with 2 cm thick. Subsequently, samples were incubated in fermented room at 30oC for 7 days. Each treatment was repeated 3 times. Variables observed in color, texture and coarse fiber. This study indicated that the winged fermented beans with Trichoderma viride mushroom had no effect on color, effected crude fiber and texture
Konsentrasi dan Motilitas Spermatozoa Ayam Kampung (Gallus domesticus) dalam Pengencer Ringer Laktat Yang Diberi Tambahan Minyak Buah Merah (Pandanus conoideus Lam): Concentration and Motility Spermatozoa of Ayam Kampung (Gallus domesticus) in Ringer Laktat Diluents Adding Red Fruit Oil (Pandanus conoideus Lam)
Red fruit oil is a red fruit extraction product (Pandanus conoideus Lam) containing a lot of antioxidants such as carotenoids, tocopherols as well as unsaturated fatty acids such as oleic acid, linoleic acid, linolenic acid and decanoic acid which is potential to be used as an additive for semen chicken diluents. This study aims to obtain an information about the effectiveness of adding red fruit oil as a cement diluent derived from male native chickens. The treatment consisted of 0.9 ml ringer laktat + 0.1 ml semen (Pl), ringer laktat 0.98 ml + 0.1 ml semen + 0.02 ml red fruit oil (P2), ringer laktat 0.96 ml + 0.1 ml semen + 0.04 ml red fruit oil (P3), ringer laktat 0.94 ml + 0.1 ml cement + 0.06 ml red fruit oil (P4). The results showed the sperm motility ranged from 48.17 ± 7.86% to 84.67 ± 2.42%. Treatment P1 and P2 have a very significant difference (P <0.01) on motility 0.05). The spermatozoa concentration ranged from 1,600x106 cells / ml to 2,200x106 cells/ml. The spermatozoa concentration of treatment P1 and P2 chickens did not show any significant differences (P> 0.05), nor did among treatments P2, P3 and P4. However, treatment P1 has a significant difference on spermatozoa concentration with P3 and P4. (P <0.05). It can be concluded that the addition of red fruit oil in lactated ringer diluent can be used as an additive for semen diluents because it is able to maintain the concentration. In addition, adding of red fruit oil up to concentrations of more than 2% tend to reduce sperm motility.

Studi Potensi Sumberdaya Peternakan di Kabupaten Mamberamo Raya: Study of Potential Livestock Resources in Mamberamo Raya Regency
The objective of this research was to determine the potential resource of farms in Mamberamo Raya regency. The research was conducted in the Mamberamo Raya Regency between September and October 2012., A subjective approach of the qualitative method was used by interview and literature studies. The results showed that the livestock development in Mamberamo Raya regency had a promising future, but worth noting agribusiness channel from upstream to downstream. The problem faced by farmers was lack of venture capital, livestock, training, lack of access to education and short of affordable of quality health services, low investment both public and companies, lack of basic infrastructure such as roads, electricity, limited good river transport services, problem of land and sea linkages among districts and limited access to marketing. To optimize the efficiency of the production value and income of farmers then this should be supported by a cooperative storage facility or the expected distribution of the production can be accommodated and prepared collectively. Regional development of cattle and goats have good prospects in Mamberamo Hulu district, Central Mamberamo, Benuki, Roufaer, Mamberamo Lower and Upper Waropen. Other commodities need to be developed in all districts in Mamberamo are Pigs, Goats, range chicken and duck. Buffaloes also prospective by considering the potential freshwater swamps but the presence of natural predators such as estuarine crocodile and the annual flooding of Mamberamo should be considered. Livestock production is a priority at the moment in order to meet local consumption and improve animal protein sources
