RELIGIOUS APPROACHES TO TERRORISM PREVENTION: AN ANALYSIS OF MAQASHID SYARIAH ON THE STRATEGY OF THE NORTH SUMATERA FKPT
The phenomenon of terrorism in Indonesia, particularly in the city of Medan, poses a serious challenge that threatens social stability, national security, and national values. In this context, the North Sumatra Terrorism Prevention Coordination Forum (FKPT) acts as an extension of the National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT) in implementing prevention programs based on local wisdom and a humanistic approach. This study aims to gain a deeper understanding of the FKPT North Sumatra's strategies in countering terrorism in the city of Medan through an approach that is not only functional but also theological, by examining these efforts from the perspective of maqāṣid al- syarī‘ah. This research uses a qualitative method with field research (empirical). Data is obtained through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies of FKPT programs and the involvement of stakeholders such as religious leaders, academics, and local communities. The results of the research show that FKPT implements an integrated strategy, including educational, cultural, collaborative, and digital approaches. These efforts are carried out through moderate religious literacy, the involvement of women and youth, and the dissemination of peaceful narratives on social media and in arts and culture. Thisstrategy is not only in line with state policy but also reflects the implementation of maqāṣid al-syarī‘ah in protecting religion, life, intellect, lineage, and property. Thus, the FKPT North Sumatra strategy demonstrates that terrorism prevention can be achieved not only through repressive approaches but also through strengthening religious and national values that prioritize the public good

ANALYSIS OF PTUN MEDAN NUMBER 165/G/2023/PTUN. MDN ON BLACKLISTING SANCTIONS IN THE PERSPECTIVE OF SIYASAH QADHAIYYAH: ANALISIS PTUN MEDAN NOMOR 165/G/2023/PTUN.MDN TENTANG SANKSI DAFTAR HITAM DALAM PERSPEKTIF SIYASAH QADHAIYYAH
This study is motivated by a legal controversy surrounding the imposition of a blacklisting sanction against PT. Bumi Aceh Citra Persada through the Administrative Court (PTUN) Medan Decision No. 165/G/2023/PTUN.MDN. The main problem addressed in this research is the judicial reasoning underlying the ruling and the extent to which the decision reflects the principle of substantive justice from the perspective of siyasah qadhaiyyah (Islamic judicial politics). The purpose of this study is to analyze the judges’ legal considerations and evaluate their conformity with Islamic legal principles, particularly within the framework of siyasah qadhaiyyah. This research employs a library-based qualitative method with a normative juridical approach, utilizing primary sources such as the PTUN decision, and secondary sources including books, journals, articles, and relevant legal regulations. Data were collected through literature review and analyzed using a qualitative content analysis method. The findings indicate that the judges’ considerations were primarily based on Government Regulation No. 12 of 2021 concerning Government Procurement of Goods and Services, which outlines the mechanism for blacklisting sanctions against service providers who violate provisions. However, from the perspective of siyasah qadhaiyyah, issues of proportionality and substantive justice remain, as the sanction does not fully consider the aspects of public welfare (maslahah) and the protection of the parties’ rights. Therefore, this study concludes that harmonization between positive law and Islamic principles of justice is essential in the application of administrative sanctions

THE IMPACT OF PRODUCT QUALITY AND PRODUCT INNOVATION ON THE MARKETING PERFORMANCE OF COSMETIC RETAIL STORES IN KEDIRI: MEDIATION OF MARKET ORIENTATION
This study investigates the influence of product quality and product innovation on marketing performance, with market orientation serving as a mediating variable in cosmetic retail stores in Kediri. Employing a quantitative explanatory research design, data were gathered through questionnaires distributed to cosmetic store owners, managers, and supervisors with a minimum of one year of operational experience. The sample was determined using purposive sampling, and the data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM-PLS) with SmartPLS 4. The results indicate that both product quality and product innovation exert a positive and significant effect on market orientation and marketing performance. Market orientation is also found to positively and significantly enhance marketing performance while mediating the relationship between product quality, product innovation, and marketing performance. These findings imply that superior product quality and continuous innovation, when aligned with strong market orientation, can substantially improve the marketing performance of cosmetic retailers. The study’s contribution is reinforced by its novelty, namely the empirical testing of a market‐orientation mediation model within the specific context of regional cosmetic retailing—an area that has received limited scholarly attention. The research extends marketing theory by offering empirical evidence from a unique industry and regional setting, while also providing practical insights that can guide strategic decision-making for cosmetic retail businesses
A PHILOSOPHY-BASED LEARNING AS THE FOUNDATION FOR DEVELOPING CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS
Philosophy is often regarded as a discipline intended only for adults, even though thinking and questioning are natural instincts of children. In basic education, the Philosophy for Children (P4C) approach has the potential to serve as a fundamental framework for developing critical, reflective, and ethical thinking skills from an early age. This study aims to examine the implementation of philosophy in primary education and its relevance to character formation and the cultivation of children’s critical thinking abilities. The research employed a qualitative literature review by analyzing various national and international studies related to P4C. Thematic analysis was conducted to identify recurring patterns, key concepts, and the practical implications of applying philosophy in primary school contexts. The findings indicate that philosophy-based learning, through dialogic discussion and the Socratic method, enhances students’ critical thinking, empathy, communication, and moral awareness. In conclusion, philosophy education in elementary schools plays a crucial role in shaping students’ intellectual growth and reflective character. Therefore, integrating the P4C approach into the curriculum represents a strategic pathway toward more humanistic and contextually relevant education
LEARNING MOTIVATION OF ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS FROM FISHING FAMILIES: A QUALITATIVE ANALYSIS
Learning motivation is a major factor in student success, especially for children from fishing families who are influenced by socioeconomic conditions, family environment, and coastal culture. This study aims to analyze the learning motivation of students from fishing families in elementary schools within a cluster in the coastal area of South Cilacap, as well as the factors that influence it. The study used a qualitative, phenomenological approach. The research subjects consisted of students, teachers, and parents, selected purposively to represent variations in learning conditions and family support. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed through condensation, presentation, and verification of conclusions. We ensured the validity of the findings by triangulating techniques and sources. The results of the study indicate variations in learning motivation influenced by internal factors (drive to achieve, interest, and awareness of learning goals, and curiosity) and external factors (parental support, teacher attention, family socioeconomic conditions, and the school environment). Students who are highly motivated demonstrate determination, a willingness to learn, discipline, and an understanding of the importance of education. Moderate motivation is evident in fluctuating learning enthusiasm and reliance on external stimuli such as praise and grades from teachers and parents. Low motivation is characterized by passive behavior, lack of focus, minimal internal and external support, inconsistent attendance, and a lack of recognition of school as a top priority. This study confirms that the learning motivation of fishermen's children depends not only on family finances but also on moral, emotional, and social support from their surrounding environment. The active roles of teachers and parents are crucial for fostering students' sustained enthusiasm for learning in coastal schools
