TRANSACTIONAL POLITICS AND RECIPROCITY AT THE LOCAL LEVEL: AN ANALYSIS OF THE 2024 SIDIKALANG ELECTION
This study aims to analyze the political practice of reciprocating in the 2024 Regional Elections in Sidikalang District and the factors that affect it. By using a qualitative approach and in-depth interview techniques with various informants such as success teams, community leaders, voters, and party administrators, it was found that the practice of reciprocating favors is the main strategy in building political support. The politics of reciprocity is carried out through the provision of social assistance, promises of projects, and the strengthening of ethnic or religious ties. The main factors driving this practice are patron-client relations, weak political education, party pragmatism, and the dominance of clienteleistic strategies in campaigns. These findings show that local democracy is still colored by transactional relations that hinder the formation of a government that is oriented towards the public interest. Therefore, efforts to improve political literacy, party reform, and law enforcement against money politics are needed to encourage a cleaner and more integrity election process

ANALISIS YURIDIS DAN PERSPEKTIF SYARIAH TERHADAP PRAKTIK PENANGKAPAN IKAN DESTRUKTIF DI MEDAN BELAWAN
Fishing activities using trawl nets and seine nets (locally known as "pukat harimau") are still widely practiced in the waters of Medan Belawan, despite being officially banned by the government. This practice has led to severe damage to marine ecosystems, including seabed degradation, destruction of coral reefs, and the decline of juvenile fish populations. This raises serious concerns about the sustainability of fisheries and the livelihoods of coastal communities. In addition to positive legal approaches, a normative religious approach is needed to examine this phenomenon from the perspective of Islamic law. This study aims to analyze the use of trawl and seine nets from the perspective of Indonesian positive law and Islamic law, as well as to assess the effectiveness of the ban implementation among fishing communities in Medan Belawan District. The research uses a qualitative method with a combination of normative juridical and empirical approaches. Data were collected through document analysis, interviews, and direct field observation. The results show that although trawl fishing has been banned under Law No. 45 of 2009 and Ministerial Regulation No. 2 of 2015, the implementation at the local level faces various challenges. These include the fishermen’s economic dependency on high-yield fishing, lack of legal literacy, and limited understanding of Islamic values related to environmental protection. From an Islamic legal perspective, the use of destructive fishing gear is considered fasād fi al-arḍ (corruption on earth), violating the principles of khalīfah (stewardship), amānah (trust), and the prohibition of isrāf (excess). Thus, synergy between state law enforcement and Islamic-based educational approaches is necessary to promote a fair, sustainable, and sharia-compliant fishing practice

The purpose of this study is to determine the position of heirs from interfaith marriages in the analysis of the decision of the constitutional court number 71/PUU- XX/2022, Interfaith marriages often cause problems in terms of legal status and inheritance rights, especially in Indonesia which has cultural and religious diversity. This research uses a normative juridical approach with the aim of examining various legal phenomena through analysis of the relationship between legal norms and their impact. The data used as the basis for this research is secondary data, which consists of various sources such as books, scientific journals, and academic articles. The results of the research indicate. Based on Constitutional Court Decision No. 71/PUU-XX/2022, it confirms that interfaith marriages that are not valid according to religious law cannot be recognised by the state. The state asserts that the validity of a marriage depends on the provisions of religious law, not just administrative registration. Because the petition was formally rejected (because it did not fulfil the legal standing requirements), the Court did not assess the substance of the norm being tested, so there was no change to the legal position of interfaith marriages. The provisions of Constitutional Court Decision No. 71/PUU-XX/2022 have not provided adequate constitutional protection for heirs of interfaith marriages. The rejection of the petition on formal grounds resulted in no change to the norm in Article 2 paragraph (1) of the Marriage Law
