DEVELOPMENT AND VALIDATION OF A SUNDANESE LOCAL WISDOM BASED ISLAMIC RELIGIOUS EDUCATION MODULE FOR STRENGTHENING MORAL CHARACTER IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS
IIslamic Religious Education (PAI) in elementary schools frequently relies on standardized and text-based teaching materials that inadequately reflect students’ socio-cultural contexts, thereby limiting the internalization of moral values. This study aims to develop and evaluate a PAI teaching module on moral education integrated with Sundanese local wisdom—Silih Asah, Silih Asih, and Silih Asuh—and to examine its validity, practicality, and effectiveness. Employing a Research and Development (R&D) design, this study applied the ADDIE model comprising analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The module was tested with Grade V students at an Islamic elementary school in West Java. Data were collected through expert validation instruments, student response questionnaires, and pre-test and post-test assessments. The results indicate that the module achieved a high level of validity (90%), was categorized as very practical based on student responses (89.3%), and demonstrated high effectiveness in improving learning outcomes, with an average N-Gain score of 0.71 and a statistically significant improvement (p < 0.05). These findings suggest that integrating local cultural wisdom into PAI instructional materials effectively enhances students’ moral understanding and character formation. The developed module is therefore feasible as a contextual learning resource aligned with the Merdeka Curriculum and the Pancasila Student Profile
ISLAMIC RELIGIOUS EDUCATION IN PLURAL SOCIETIES: ROLES, CHALLENGES, AND STRATEGIES FROM A SYSTEMATIC LITERATURE REVIEW
Plurality is an unavoidable social reality in Indonesia's diverse society. Religious, cultural, and ethnic diversity pose unique challenges for the education system, especially Islamic Religious Education (IRE), which is responsible for shaping students' character and religious attitudes. This study aims to analyze the role, challenges, and strategies of Islamic Religious Education in dealing with plurality through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. Data were collected from 12 scientific articles indexed by Google Scholar published between 2020 and 2025. The results of the study show that PAI has a strategic role in instilling values of tolerance, religious moderation, and respect for differences. The main challenges faced include resistance to pluralism, a lack of teacher competence in multicultural learning, and a curriculum bias that is still normative. The strategies that emerged include strengthening multicultural education, curriculum innovation, developing teacher competencies, and synergy between educational institutions and the community. These findings confirm that the success of IRE amid plurality depends on the ability to adapt and integrate the values of Islam rahmatan lil 'alamin into inclusive and dialogical educational practices
EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY AS A FOUNDATIONAL FRAMEWORK FOR THE CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT OF ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS
Character formation among elementary school students has become a crucial necessity amid the challenges of the digital era. Schools, families, and communities play a significant role in shaping children’s morality; therefore, a clear philosophical foundation is required to guide the process of character education. This study aims to examine the role of educational philosophy as a basis for the development of moral and ethical values in elementary school students through a review of recent literature. The method employed was a Systematic Literature Review of national and international articles published between 2022 and 2025, selected through the PRISMA stages. The findings indicate that character education is effective when moral values are integrated into the curriculum, teachers act as moral exemplars, active learning is implemented, and families as well as the school environment provide consistent support. Educational philosophy offers a conceptual direction that assists teachers in adjusting learning strategies to the students’ contextual conditions. In conclusion, character education becomes more meaningful when it is grounded in philosophical principles that emphasize values, reflection, and authentic learning experiences
LEARNING MANAGEMENT IN PANCASILA AND CITIZENSHIP EDUCATION FOR SHAPING STUDENTS’ DISCIPLINE: A QUALITATIVE STUDY AT AN INDONESIAN ISLAMIC JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL: -
This study aims to describe learning management in the subject of Pancasila and Citizenship Education (PPKn) in shaping the discipline of grade VII students at MTs Negeri Samarinda. The research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The research subjects consisted of one PPKn teacher and four students of grade VII who were selected through purposive sampling techniques based on variations in the level of discipline of different students. Data was obtained through in-depth observation and interviews to explore the implementation of learning management and students' responses to the application of discipline in the classroom. The results of the study showed that PPKn teachers manage learning through structured planning, organization, direction, and supervision, so as to be able to foster student discipline in four main aspects: neatness of dress, punctuality, task completion, and behavior during learning activities. Students in general have shown a good, disciplined attitude, although there are still some obstacles such as differences in learning styles and limited learning time. Overall, the learning management implemented by teachers plays an important role in shaping the culture of discipline in madrasas, and needs to be supported by habituation and continuous strengthening
CONSUMER BEHAVIOR-BASED DIGITALIZATION FOR COMPETITIVENESS OF THE CULINARY SME INDUSTRY IN MANADO
One of the national strategic goals is digital transformation, and 30 million MSMEs are expected to become digital by 2024. Nevertheless, Manado culinary MSMEs, especially those in the Flamboyan Street Food District, continue to experience a digital divide because consumer behaviour is becoming increasingly reliant on social media content, online reviews, and electronic money transfer systems. The proposed study will help develop a consumer-behaviour-based digital strategy model to enhance the competitiveness and sustainability of culinary MSMEs. An explanatory mixed-methods research design was used to gather quantitative data (100 digital consumers) using PLS-SEM and qualitative data (in-depth interviews, FGDs, and direct observations of MSME actors). The results show that customer engagement strongly mediates the influence of digital strategy on competitiveness and that competitiveness is a strong personal contributor to business sustainability. The qualitative findings indicate that digital literacy, regular online promotion, and enabling infrastructure are essential to the adoption of digital technology. In general, this study has found that consumer-focused digital approaches can enhance the competitiveness and sustainability of MSMEs in the culinary industry in Manado. Practical recommendations include the establishment of digital marketing strengths, multi-stakeholder cooperation, and the adoption of context-related technologies in line with the local culture and groups
ANALYSIS OF DETERMINANTS OF OBESITY AND OVERWEIGHT RISK FACTORS AMONG ADOLESCENTS IN CENTRAL JAVA PROVINCE BASED ON THE 2023 INDONESIAN HEALTH SURVEY DATA
Background: Overweight and obesity among adolescents have become a growing public health issue in Indonesia, contributing to the risk of non-communicable diseases in adulthood. Risky dietary behaviors and low physical activity levels are suspected to play a role in the increasing prevalence of obesity in the adolescent age group. Objective: This study aims to identify the risk factors associated with overweight and obesity in adolescents aged 11–18 years in Central Java Province. Methods: This study employs a cross-sectional design with a quantitative approach, utilizing secondary data from the 2023 Indonesian Health Survey (SKI). The study subjects were 4,439 adolescents aged 11–18 years who met the inclusion criteria. Nutritional status was determined based on the Body Mass Index for Age (BMI/A). Data analysis included univariate analysis, bivariate analysis using chi-square tests, and multivariate analysis using multiple logistic regression. Results: In the multivariate analysis, the consumption of soft drinks ≥1 time per day was identified as an independent determinant that increases the risk of overweight and obesity (aOR = 3.742; 95% CI: 1.440–9.723). Instant noodle consumption was found to be associated with overweight and obesity at certain levels of consumption. Educational level, consumption of sweet foods, sweet beverages, and fatty foods were associated in the bivariate analysis, but were not significant after controlling for other variables. Conclusion: Daily soft drink consumption is a major risk factor for overweight and obesity among adolescents in Central Java. Prevention of adolescent obesity requires a comprehensive approach, including improvements in dietary patterns, increased physical activity, as well as family support and public policy interventions
