    No full text
This study examines the role of the Madukismo Sugar Factory in the period (1955–1958) in post-war industrial and social reconstruction in Yogyakarta. Using historical methods that include interviews, archival studies, and field observations, this study highlights how Madukismo played a strategic role in absorbing labor and reviving the industrial sector that was affected by the economic crisis during the malaise. The establishment of this factory was an initiative of Sultan Hamengkubuwono IX in response to the high unemployment rate due to the closure of a number of sugar factories since the previous government. From the results of the research, it can be seen that Madukismo is not only a symbol of local economic recovery, but also contributes to shaping new post-colonial social dynamics. Until now, the Madukismo Sugar Factory remains the only sugar factory still operating in the Yogyakarta area

    No full text
The purpose to be achieved in this study is to determine the effect of project-based learning (PjBL) model on students' chronological thinking ability at SMKN 11 Pandeglang. The methodology used in the research is a quasi-experimental method with a “pretest postest control group design” which consists of two class groups, namely the experimental class and the control class. The research population used is class XI students of SMKN 11 Pandeglang. Statistical data analysis used in proving the hypothesis using the independent sample t-test formula with the criteria for success if the significance value (2-tailed) <0.05. The results obtained from this study are sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000 <0.05 then H_a is accepted and H_0 is rejected. Thus it can be concluded that the project-based learning model has an influence on students' chronological thinking ability. This shows that students' chronological thinking ability using the project-based learning model is higher than the discovery learning model seen from the acquisition of the average student score after the test in the experimental class of 82.44 and the control class of 72.48. The indicators of chronological thinking skills tested in this study are the ability to understand the concept of time, the ability to read the timeline, the ability to distinguish between the past, present and future, the ability to sequence historical events, and the ability to analyze historical events. &nbsp

    No full text
This study discusses the integration of digital-based local history in history learning in Palembang high schools with a focus on the readiness and obstacles faced by teachers. Digital transformation in history education is expected to improve students' understanding of local history and adapt the learning process to technological developments. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection methods through interviews, observations, and distributing questionnaires to history teachers in several high schools in Palembang. The results of the study show that most teachers are aware of the importance of implementing digital technology in history learning, but there are still differences in their level of readiness. Factors that support teacher readiness include basic skills in using technology and school support. Meanwhile, the main obstacles faced include limited technological infrastructure, lack of technical training, minimal digital learning resources based on local history, and limited time in implementing the curriculum. In addition, resistance to changes in learning methods is also a challenge in this integration process. The conclusion of this study emphasizes the need to improve teachers' digital competence through continuous training, development of adequate digital resources, and support from schools and related stakeholders. With these steps, digital-based local history integration can be an effective strategy in improving students' historical literacy and strengthening their awareness of local history

    No full text
The present study conducts an analysis of Notary's legal remedies for temporary dismissal sanctions, legal protection and legal certainty with regard to Notary's legal remedies. This is achieved by means of a case study of the Jakarta State Administrative Court Decision Number 88/G/2017/PTUN-JKT. The objective of this study is to evaluate the Notary's legal remedies for temporary dismissal sanctions and to analyse whether the PTUN Decision has provided legal certainty and legal protection for Notaries. Utilising a normative juridical approach and descriptive analysis method, this research is underpinned by primary data, including Law No. 51/2009 on State Administrative Courts, Law No. 2/2014 on Notary Position, Minister of Law and Human Rights Regulation No. 15/2020, and court decisions. The consequence of this state of affairs is that, in this particular instance, the Notary is entitled to initiate legal proceedings in the State Administrative Court to challenge the sanction of temporary dismissal imposed by the Notary Supervisory Panel. In the course of his legal efforts, the Notary is not accorded legal protection or legal certainty due to disparities in interpretation from the Panel of Judges. This research study lends further credence to the notion that notaries are instrumental in comprehending the self-defense procedures that are enshrined within the internal supervisory system of the Supervisory Council. It is imperative for judges of the PTUN to exercise greater discernment when assessing the characteristics of the decision rendered by the Central Supervisory Council

As time goes by, temperatures in Indonesia have increased quite drastically. According to daily BMKG data, the average temperature in Banyuwangi Regency is between 240C – 330C (BMKG, 2023). Installing an air conditioner (AC) is considered very necessary to obtain a comfortable temperature in the body. There are several methods to get the right AC capacity (PK) according to the size of the room. The data collection method for this research was carried out by measuring and observing each room in the Banyuwangi State Polytechnic Integrated Lecture Building. When measuring, the data taken includes the length and width of the room. Then proceed with observing the type of AC installed in the room and then analyzing it with the technical specifications used. By comparing the name of the plate with the measurement results, it can be seen that all rooms comply with the AC capacity installation standards. In the Poliwangi Integrated Lecture Building, the indoor AC uses a Cassette type AC, where the AC is installed on the ceiling. The AC system used in the GKT Poliwangi building uses a VRF AC system using single channel ducting. The object of measurement includes the length and width of the room and then multiplied by 500 (the value of 500 is obtained from the average height of the room not exceeding 5 meters). VRF AC cleaning maintenance efforts are usually carried out every 3-6 months

The Dynamics of Cultural Identity Through the Use of English in Surabaya Postgraduate Student Environment: Dinamika Identitas Budaya Melalui Penggunaan Bahasa Inggris Pada Lingkungan Mahasiswa Pascasarjana Surabaya

    No full text
In an increasingly globalized higher education environment, students often face demands to demonstrate competence in English as a form of intellectual capability and professionalism. The use of English among graduate students not only serves as a means of communication, both in everyday life and academically, but also influences the way they form and negotiate cultural identities. Some students feel that the use of English gives them access to global networks and increases social prestige, but on the other hand, they also face a dilemma between maintaining local cultural expressions, so the use of English becomes a symbolic space where students' cultural identities are exchanged, negotiated, and sometimes contested. This study aims to find out how the use of English can shape the cultural identity of postgraduate students in Surabaya. This research is an interpretative qualitative research and was conducted at two universities in Surabaya, namely Airlangga University and Sepuluh November Institute of Technology. Data collection techniques used in this research are participatory observation, document study, and in-depth interviews. The data analysis technique used in this research is an interpretative approach and uses a thematic analysis model. The findings show that graduate students are not passive in accepting foreign cultural influences, but rather actively negotiate and shape their identities through language use

THE SPREAD OF FOOT AND MOUTH DISEASE ON LIVESTOCK IN THE EX SEMARANG RESIDENCY 1981-1986: PENYEBARAN PENYAKIT MULUT DAN KUKU TERNAK DI EKS KARESIDENAN SEMARANG 1981-1986

    No full text
The spread of Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) in livestock throughout the former Semarang Residency area from 1981-1986 was a disease that played a role in the history of Indonesian livestock farming. The outbreak began in Blora and quickly spread to neighboring areas, including Grobogan, Semarang, and Salatiga, due to inadequate biosecurity and the influx of imported infected animals. This study aims to understand how FMD impacted local livestock production and how the government responded to contain the epidemic. Using historical methods involving heuristics, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography, this study draws on archival documents, official reports, newspapers, and oral histories from affected farmers. The study findings reveal that FMD caused major disruptions in meat and milk production, economic losses for farmers, and public panic. In response, the government implemented mass vaccination programs, quarantine zones, and movement restrictions. A key outcome of these efforts was Indonesia’s official declaration as a FMD-free country in 1986, which was later recognized by international organizations. The novelty of this study lies in its historical perspective on veterinary crisis management and the strategic role of livestock policies during national emergencies, which offers some novelties in the history of foot and mouth disease in Indonesia
