ANALYSIS OF PHUBBING BEHAVIOR AS A FACTOR OF DECREASE IN ADOLESCENT SOCIAL INTERACTION: A CASE STUDY IN KARANG REJO GANG

    No full text
The development of communication technology has significantly transformed adolescents’ patterns of social interaction, one of which is reflected in the phenomenon of phubbing, namely the tendency to ignore interlocutors due to excessive focus on smartphones. This study aims to analyze the forms of phubbing behavior and its impact on the quality of social interactions among adolescents in Gang Karang Rejo, Medan City. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach using a purposive sampling technique involving five adolescents aged 14–18 years as the main informants, with parents serving as supporting informants. The data were collected through in-depth interviews, non-participatory observation, and documentation, and analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, followed by verification using source and method triangulation. The results indicate that phubbing has become a normalized daily habit among adolescents, characterized by frequent smartphone use during interactions, repetitive checking of notifications, feelings of anxiety when separated from the device, and decreased focus during face-to-face communication. This behavior negatively affects the quality of social interactions, as seen in reduced empathy, weakened emotional closeness with family members, and the loss of togetherness during social encounters. The discussion highlights that phubbing is no longer an individual behavior but has developed into a broader social phenomenon that shapes the relational dynamics of adolescents within their families and communities, suggesting the need for educational strategies, parental guidance, and controlled smartphone use to maintain a balanced integration of digital and face-to-face interactions

NOTARY'S RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE SETTLEMENT OF CLAIMS BY HEIRS WHO WERE NOT INCLUDED IN THE DISTRIBUTION OF INHERITANCE RIGHTS

    No full text
This study seeks to scrutinize the liability of notaries in relation to legal actions initiated by heirs excluded from the allocation of inheritance rights, as well as to assess the forms of legal protection available to the affected parties through normative legal inquiry. Employing a normative juridical methodology with a doctrinal literature approach, the research examines notarial liability in cases involving claims by omitted heirs in inheritance distribution. The analysis is conducted in a descriptive–analytical manner, drawing upon primary, secondary, and tertiary legal sources to interpret prevailing legal norms and formulate conclusions. The findings indicate that (1) notarial liability arising from lawsuits filed by heirs excluded from the certificate of inheritance rights manifests as responsibility for deeds executed by the notary when errors result in losses, thereby constituting an unlawful act pursuant to Articles 1365 and 1366 of the Civil Code. Consequently, such deeds may be declared null and void, and the notary may incur civil liability in the form of compensation, reimbursement of expenses, and interest, in addition to administrative sanctions ranging from written admonitions to removal from office. Furthermore, legal protection for heirs not recorded in the inheritance deed may be pursued through both preventive and repressive legal mechanisms

The study aims to analyze the improvement of students’ mathematical understanding and self-efficacy after learning with the PACE model. This study used a quasi-experimental method, with a population of all students from ten eighth-grade students of a junior high school in Bandung in the 2024/2025 academic year. The sample was determined purposively by two classes. Data collection was carried out using test instruments and questionnaires. Data analysis used a t-test on test results and descriptive analysis on self-efficacy scores. The results showed that the improvement of mathematical understanding of students who received learning with the PACE model was better than students who learned in conventional classes. This can be seen from the N-Gain value in the experimental class of 0.304 (medium category) and the N-Gain in the control class of 0.124 (low category). The level of self-efficacy of students in the experimental class increased by 66.86 after learning with the PACE model. Thus, the PACE model is said to be effective in improving students’ mathematical understanding and self-efficacy. Further research is expected to identify the relationship between variables

    No full text
This study examines legal protection for good-faith third parties in the process of asset confiscation for corruption crimes, focusing on the case of PT. ASABRI. The main issues examined include: (1) what form of legal protection for good-faith third parties takes under the Indonesian legal system; (2) the legal obstacles faced by third parties in defending their rights to confiscated assets; and (3) the implementation of legal protection in the practice of asset confiscation in the PT. ASABRI corruption case. The type of research used is normative juridical, namely research that emphasizes literature studies through analysis of laws and regulations, legal doctrine, court decisions, and relevant legal literature. This study uses Gustav Radbruch's legal value approach, which includes justice, legal certainty, and utility as a normative analytical framework for legal protection. The nature of this research is descriptive and analytical, aiming to provide a comprehensive overview of legal regulations and their implementation in practice, as well as to analyze the effectiveness of legal protection for good-faith third parties. The research results indicate that although legal protection is normatively available, its implementation still faces various obstacles, such as overlapping criminal and civil law, and the lack of adequate defense mechanisms for third parties in asset confiscation proceedings

    No full text
Learning theory has an important role in the development of the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) curriculum, because it can provide a scientific basis for designing an effective learning experience. This research explores various learning theories, such as constructivism, behaviorism, and cognitivism, as well as their implications for PAI learning. This study uses a qualitative approach with the systematic literature review (SLR) method which examines various results of previous research related to the application of learning theory to PAI learning and its relevance to curriculum development. The analysis of the data needs of this SLR method is through steps, namely the identification step of the research focus and the screening  stage of various indexed journal articles using inclusion and exclusion criteria. The results of this study show that in general, cognitive theory emphasizes the cognitive structure of students. Thus, the subject matter delivered in PAI lessons can be adjusted to the ability of students, then in behaviorsime theory is seen as a process of behavior change as a result of the interaction between stimulus and response, this theory is very suitable for the development of children's behavior in order to strengthen the good habits that have been formed so that they do not disappear slowly,  while constructivistic learning, according to the author, is a learning process that involves a student who is required to learn actively, innovatively and have an independent and capable way of thinking in overcoming problems that the teacher gives based on their understanding and involves experience well

    No full text
This study aims to analyze the integration of digital technology in Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Medan Denai District within the framework of smart city development. The research focuses on identifying the patterns of digital platform adoption, the challenges faced by MSME actors, and the implications for local economic transformation. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, using in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation involving MSME actors, local government representatives, and related stakeholders. The findings reveal that digital platform adoption among MSMEs is primarily concentrated on marketing activities through social media and online marketplaces, while the use of digital technology for financial management, inventory control, and data-driven decision-making remains limited. Constraints such as low digital literacy, limited access to continuous training, and insufficient institutional support hinder deeper digital integration. Although basic digital infrastructure is available, its utilization has not been optimized to support MSME productivity and competitiveness. The study concludes that smart city implementation in Medan Denai has not yet fully empowered MSMEs as key actors in the digital economy. Therefore, a more inclusive and MSME-centered smart city strategy is required, emphasizing sustained capacity building, integrated digital systems, and cross-sector collaboration to strengthen local economic resilience
