    No full text
This research aims to (1) Observe the policies of the Japanese Occupation Government in Surakarta in the political, socio-cultural and economic fields (2) Map the sites of the Japanese Occupation period in Surakarta for the development of historical tourism by prioritizing the value of education. This research uses a historical method, with the step of collecting data through the study of archives, documents and relevant previous research as well as related reference books; analyze sources to find the authenticity and credibility of sources; interpreting with political, sociological, and economic approaches to find the historical facts sought, and finally producing historiography about the Japanese occupation in Surakarta by mapping historical sites and tourism with educational content that can be scientifically accounted for. The results of the study show that (1), the Japanese Occupation Policy in Surakarta is top down,  that is, it follows the policy of the Army government in Java by regulating local government. The government bureaucracy is territorial, from the highest to the lowest, held by indigenous people but with very strict supervision.  In the social field, it is characterized by the loss of hierarchy based on race. In the field of culture and economy, Japan tried to Japaneseize but was not able to form its own culture, local culture was used to realize Japanese government programs, especially for the needs of winning wars; The economy is directed towards the war economy, so all economic activities are associated with the war victory effort. (2) There are not so many Japanese heritage sites in Surakarta, because of the Japanese colonial period which was only 3 1/2 years, but it left a deep impression. The impressions in question are related to Kenpei Tai, the recruitment of comfort women (Jugun Iyanfu), forced labor (romusya), poverty, the cruelty of the Japanese army and military training;   Relics that can be mapped as educational tourism are such as: Kenpei Tai headquarters, MAPA Headquarters, street names, Japanese Caves, These relics can be packaged into tour packages that have educational value because there are values of strength, togetherness, unity, discipline and heroic spirit from the masses which are very valuable for Indonesia in the future

ECOLOGICAL THEOLOGY IN INDONESIAN CHRISTIAN SCHOLARSHIP: A SYSTEMATIC LITERATURE REVIEW OF ECOTHEOLOGY, 2000–2025

    No full text
Ecological crises in Indonesia, such as rapid deforestation, the spread of mining, loss of biodiversity, climate, and frequent disasters, overlap with each other and require more frequent theological and technical solutions (Margono et al., 2014; Sodhi et al., 2004; Steffen et al., 2015). As the largest archipelagic state in the world, with Christian communities of different denominations widely distributed throughout the country, Indonesian Christian scholarship has begun to develop particular models of ecological theology. However, this new area is still divided, and there is not much systematic systematization of its thematic, methodological, and contextual developments (Golo and Yusuf 2018). In this article, a systematic literature review on the topic is conducted using PRISMA to examine Indonesian Christian ecotheology to from 20002025. Nine databases of academic sources ( Scopus, Web of Science, Atla Religion Database, ProQuest Religion and Philosophy, EBSCOhost, DOAJ, GARUDA, Neliti, and major repositories of theological collections) revealed 1,847 records, and 68 studies were selected after screening and eligibility tools. Quality appraisal was an integration of the Mixed Methods Appraisal Tool (MMAT) (used to assess empirical works) (Hong et al., 2018) and a modified theological assessment framework (Vanhoozer, 2005; Schreiter, 1985). Data synthesis was performed based on descriptive statistics, mapping of key word co-occurrence, and thematic analysis (Sandelowski et al., 2006; Thomas and Harden, 2008). The results indicate rapid growth since 2016, denominational diversity, and five master themes: doctrinal foundations, indigenous cosmologies and land/sea relations, ecclesial practices and eco-spirituality, public and justice-oriented ecotheology, and methodological developments. Indonesian ecotheology also contributes to the global discourse through its adat, archipelagic and disaster experiences, and postcolonial critique, although there are still gaps in Papua-Maluku ecotheology, Pentecostal ecotheology, marine theology and urban theology, and outcome-oriented research

CONTENT ANALYSIS OF ENGLISH ASSESSMENT RUBRICS USED IN SENIOR HIGH SCHOOLS RELIABILITY, TRANSPARENCY, AND LEARNING OUTCOME ALIGNMENT

    No full text
This study examines the quality of English assessment rubrics used in senior high schools through an in-depth qualitative content analysis focusing on three key dimensions: reliability, transparency, and alignment with learning outcomes. A total of 12 rubrics were collected from public and private schools and analyzed alongside semi-structured interviews with English teachers. The findings reveal substantial inconsistencies in rubric construction, with only a minority of rubrics demonstrating clearly differentiated performance descriptors. Most rubrics employ vague evaluative terms and lack operational indicators, reducing their usefulness in guiding both assessment and student learning. Alignment with the Merdeka Curriculum was also limited, as several rubrics did not fully represent mandated competencies such as logical reasoning, content organization, and coherence. Interview data further highlight systemic challenges, including limited teacher training, time constraints, and reliance on generic online rubrics. These issues collectively undermine rubric reliability and transparency, resulting in subjective scoring and misaligned evaluations. The study underscores the need for standardized rubric development guidelines, targeted professional development, and stronger institutional support to ensure high-quality assessment practices. The findings contribute to enhancing the integrity of English assessment and provide practical insights for teachers, schools, and policymakers committed to implementing curriculum-aligned, competency-based evaluation systems

    No full text
After the COVID-19 pandemic, the number of street vendors selling along Jalan Benteng Pancasila, Mojokerto City, has increased significantly. This condition has prompted the need for enforcement by local government officials. This study aims to assess the performance of Pamong Praja Police Unit (Satpol PP) officers in regulating the presence of street vendors at this location. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with seven informants. It uses T.R Mitchell's (1978) theory of employee performance assessment, which includes quality of work, promptness, initiative, capability, and communication. Data collection was conducted through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, while data analysis used the interactive model of Miles and Huberman. The results of the study show that the performance quality, competence, and communication of Satpol PP employees in carrying out street vendor control tasks on Jalan Benteng Pancasila in Mojokerto City are at a good level. However, the indicators of timeliness and initiative are still at a fairly optimal level

CONTROVERSY OF EQUAL RIGHTS TO THE APPLICATION OF THE DEATH PENALTY TO EXTRA ORDINARY CRIME PERSPECTIVE PANCASILA WITH JUSTICE

    No full text
This study explores the controversy surrounding the application of the death penalty to perpetrators of extraordinary crimes from the perspective of Pancasila, which upholds the principles of civilized justice. Although the death penalty is officially regulated in the Criminal Code and sectoral laws related to narcotics, terrorism, and corruption, its practice shows inconsistencies. The state strongly enforces the death penalty for drug and terrorism offenders but is more lenient toward corruption offenders, even though the law allows the death penalty under certain circumstances. This disparity raises concerns about potential abuse of power, violates the principle of equality before the law, and undermines public trust in the legal system. The research employs a qualitative method with a normative legal approach, analyzing laws and regulations, doctrines, court decisions, and relevant academic literature. The analysis is conducted descriptively and analytically, with Pancasila used as an evaluative framework. The findings emphasize the need for consistent application of the death penalty for all extraordinary crimes to ensure that the law upholds substantive justice. Using Pancasila as a benchmark, the state is expected to enforce the law in an equitable, accountable, and fair manner, so that the death penalty serves as an instrument of justice rather than a tool of power

CHRISTIAN FORGIVENESS, RECONCILIATION, AND CONGREGATIONAL LIFE: QUANTITATIVE EVIDENCE FROM GMIM CHURCHES IN INDONESIA

    No full text
This paper reports a quantitative research on CM Christian forgiveness, reconciliation, and life in GMIM churches in Indonesia. This study examines the actualization of theological beliefs regarding forgiveness in daily relationships using a cross-sectional survey of adult members of various congregations and their role in the vitality of congregations. The concept of forgiveness is heavily asserted as a non-negotiable Christian ministry, and it is commonly experienced as peace in the soul. Respondents associated the forgiveness of other people with obedience to God and the release of anger and bitterness, and they considered other spiritual practices, such as prayer, to be relevant supports towards release. Simultaneously, the participants have a reticent and discriminating attitude: they note that they find it more demanding to forgive serious or recurrent crimes, and they always distinguish between intrapersonal forgiveness and interpersonal reconciliation. It is typically considered that reconciliation would only be acceptable where there is repentance, change of behavior, and relational safety, and in most cases under the mediation of pastors or elders. The sense of congregational climate indicates that teaching forgiveness is perceived to be consistent and clear, and practices of conflict handling and leadership modelling are perceived to be uneven. The patterns of correlation show that a better sense of belonging, perceived unity, and active engagement in ministries are linked to stronger forgiveness and reconciliation orientations. This study concludes that forgiveness and reconciliation are not just theological principles but also practical sources of congregational well-being and valuable tools in Christian witness in a plural and postcolonial society

DESIGNING CULTURALLY INTEGRATED PROJECT-BASED LEARNING TO ENHANCE FINANCIAL LITERACY: A STUDY OF THE JIMPITAN TRADITION IN INDONESIAN ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS

    No full text
Financial literacy is a crucial 21st-century competency that must be developed from an early age to prepare students for real-world financial decision-making. However, learning in many Indonesian elementary schools remains conventional and has not yet integrated meaningful, contextual, and culturally relevant learning experiences. This study aims to design and analyze project-based learning (PjBL) activities integrated with the local Jimpitan tradition to enhance fifth-grade students’ financial literacy at SDN 2 Kloposepuluh, Sukodono District. Using a design-research approach with a qualitative descriptive method, data were collected through observations, interviews, and document analysis involving students, teachers, and school leaders. The learning design guided students to engage in projects related to the Jimpitan practice, including reporting on fundraising processes, management mechanisms, and their financial implications. The findings show that culturally contextualized PjBL activities effectively improved students’ financial literacy, particularly in understanding needs versus wants, money management, and simple economic concepts. Students also demonstrated increased engagement, creativity, and collaboration compared to conventional learning. Challenges such as limited time and resources indicate the need for stronger collaboration between schools, teachers, and researchers. This study contributes to the development of innovative, practical learning models that integrate local cultural wisdom into elementary economics education
