Use of Social Networking Sites in Academics: A Review
Get PDFIn the current era with the advent horizon of technology and its usage, encouraged the use of social networking sites among the society. In the last decade, it made an imperative impact and rapid change on the working on almost all organizations and professions be it businesses, industries, or academia. In the academic organizations, the use of social networking sites by students and youths for academic and non-academic communication is increasing rapidly in India and Oman. Social networking sites is itself provide massive communication channels and service that can support and yield in getting solutions to many administrative issues for academic institutions. However, Universities and institutions have not formally accepted in India. This paper reviews surveys and experiments by academic researchers in various parts of the world. To evident, the usefulness and significance of SNS in academic world several studied and experiments have been elaborated in this paper. During this study top fifteen universities in the world have been taken into consideration. The comparative study has been carried out among them with reference to use of social networking sites and their relative factors. We found that almost all universities are very much aware and have significant place in their system. Mass of the Universe from a Fundamental Quantum Description
Get PDFWithin a fundamental quantum theory, in which gravitation is described by magnetic binding of hadron-lepton pairs, the mechanisms responsible to the development of the universe are well understood. The Solar system has been found to be a stable bound state with a present distance from the center of the universe of about 1200 Mpc. Using this result, the radius of the universe, which comprises essentially all matter, is estimated to be about 1800 Mpc. The total mass is given by the accumulated mass, before the early gravitational system became destabilized by CP-violating processes. Consistent with the known energy-density of the universe a mass of about 4 10^{78} GeV/c^2 (sim 4 10^{21} Solar masses) is obtained.
Further, from the present temperature of the cosmic microwave background (CMB) of 2.73 K an annihilation radius in the order of 1 mm is obtained (for absorption of a fraction of 10^{-4} and 10^{-5} of the total annihilation energy)

Considering Heutagogy as an Innovative Approach for Skill Development
Get PDFDuring the opening days of the independence Gandhiji predicted that it was “only through imparting education through crafts can India stand before the world'’. Successive governments in India tried to take the Gandhian dictum ahead, and concentrated on education as a tool to develop human resource of the country. While the initial focus was on literacy and enrolment, the target gradually shifted to quality education and imparting skills. The Honhaar Bharat programme (2010) and Skill India (2014) may be seen as part of the continued education and human resource policies being followed by the successive governments since independence. Also under focus are the moves in organisational learning from courses to resources, and a proliferation of new ways to access learning in the workplace. Increasingly, it’s not about ‘the course’, taken through a single medium (classroom or desktop PC), but about a learner--journey encompassing multiple modes and channels. With the downgrading of the course as the default unit of instruction, we also see less prominence for the role of instructors. The recent approaching method of the self determining learning--heutagogy can be used as an innovative approach for learning, especially for skill based learning. It can be exercised even through social media. Researches also indicate that the use of social media can support self-determined learning. Heutagogy applies a holistic approach to developing learner capabilities, with learning as an active and proactive process, and learners serving as the major agent in their own learning, which occurs as a result of personal experiences
Adopting Marketing Mix Model for Reducing Poverty Incidence in Nigeria
Get PDF A large number of studies have been done to determine strategies to tackle poverty in Nigerian context, however quite a few focused on marketing approach to the problem. Accordingly, this paper seeks to determine empirically the adoption of marketing mix model for reducing poverty incidence in Nigeria. Quantitative survey research design was adopted for the study. Questionnaire was used to collect data from 240 selected Nigerians who earn below 1 dollar a day in the six geo-political zones of Nigeria. Face and content validities of the questionnaire were ascertained. Reliability of the instrument was supported using Cronbatch alpa test which show 0.84 co-efficient. Logit regression analysis was used to test the hypotheses. Results show that poor quality of poverty alleviation products, poor pricing, poor marketing promotion, poor distribution, poor people, poor processes and poor physical evidence have significant positive influence on poverty incidence in Nigeria. Improvements in these weak marketing mix variables were recommended in order to improve poverty syndrome in Nigeria
Norms of Citizenship and Political Engagement of Young Adults
Get PDFThis paper explores the influence of citizen norms on political engagement. A sample of two hundred and seventy five (275) students from two universities sited in the northwest Nigeria partook in the study through stratified proportionate method. Participants completed a (five) Likert scale questionnaire in a cross-sectional survey using quantitative design. Drawing from Thompson’s democracy theory, this study examined the relationship between citizen norms and political engagement. The SmartPLS 3 software was adopted in analyzing the data collected. The results maintained the hypothesized effect of duty and engaged based norms on political engagement of youngsters. This implies a substantial effect, hence propagating extant literature on political engagement.

Get PDFThis letter is concerned with the three Wakas at evening in the autumn, which may be most popular and are compiled in Shin-Kokinwakashu. It is realized that Waka is a short literal sculpture based on pointillism, and filling enormous amount of contents regarding emotion and/or scenery. The first common characteristic point of these three Wakas is to be paused at the end of the third passage, respectively. The second characteristic point is that the fifth passage is a common phrase. They describe lonely scenery at the mountain, swamp, and seashore, respectively, at evening in the autumn without using any subjective literal expression. It is, therefore, suggested that they become the symbol of a simple tea ceremony, and provide the original idea to establish the standard rules.
