    Agricultural Financing and Economic Growth in Nigeria: A Threshold Autoregressive (TAR) Analyses

    This study evaluates agricultural financing and economic growth in Nigeria using threshold autoregressive (TAR) model. Examining the efficacy of agricultural financing on economic growth in Nigeria is the objective of the study. This evaluation covered but short and long run analyses. Diagnostic tests are adopted using Augmented Dickey Fuller Unit Root Test, Co-integration, and Error Correction Model. Threshold Autoregressive model (TAR) was utilized to test agricultural finance sustainability in Nigeria from 1990-2017. Findings showed that Nigeria has not reach a healthy threshold as revealed in all the regimes of GDP, the study concludes that Nigeria’s agricultural financing is not healthy enough to yield greater benefits for the battled economy. This is because it has not achieved healthy threshold of significant positive impact in agriculture. The paper recommends among others that, there is great need to improve significantly government budget allocation to agriculture. Policy makers are encouraged to develop better frameworks that enhance more funds appropriated to the agricultural sector and financial institutions are expected to assist government on this struggle. Special Funds should be channeled to farmers and its relations to help boost production in the sector. This will lead to achievement of food security and high foreign exchange earnings

    The study examines the influence of financial literacy on the performance of SMEs with particular reference to SMEs registered with Lagos Business directory. The total population of the study comprises all 376 SMEs that registered and listed in Lagos Business Directory. Closed-ended questionnaires were employed to collect data from 190 SME entrepreneurs. The result reveals that the majority of the SME operators had a numeracy level of financial literacy of using a calculator for addition and subtraction only. This implies that most of the small business entrepreneurs did not have a spectrum of financial skills. It was also discovered that financial literacy dimensions independently and jointly influence SMEs’ performance. Therefore, the study recommends that SME entrepreneurs should leverage on the spectrum of financial skills, and also there should be a collaboration between SME entrepreneurs and accounting professional bodies in Nigeria, to organize seminars and workshops on financial literacy. Thus, this will go a long way to equip SME entrepreneurs with an array of financial skills such as book-keeping, cash management, inventory management, daily cash reconciliation and budgeting

    This paper introduces new integration methods for numerical integration problems in science and engineering applications. It is shown that the exact results of these integrals can be obtained by these methods with the use of  only 2 segments. So no additional function and integrand evaluations are required for different levels of computation. This situation overcomes the computational inefficiency.     Detecting the charge particles at Giga hertz rate is one of the applications of UFSD (Ultra- Fast Silicon Detectors). The UFSD test in front of the proton beam to count the beam particles and use it for more precise in Dose Delivery System for treatment the cancerous tumor by charge particles can become an effective step for development of cancer treatment. After choosing the best time measurement method which was constant fraction discriminator (CFD) method, by our previous experience, we used MATLAB software to analyze the UFSD signals.     Preparation of Hydroxypropyl Chitosan

    In order to solve poor water solubility of chitosan, chitosan was modified by C6 hydroxyl group. Hydroxypropyl chitosan with good water solubility was prepared by using chitosan as raw material, propylene oxide as etherifying agent and isopropanol as solvent in alkaline environment. The suitable conditions for etherification reaction were determined by single factor experiments. The results showed that the optimum conditions for the synthesis of hydroxypropyl chitosan were as follows: under the alkaline environment of 25℃, the amount of isopropanol was 25 g, the amount of propylene oxide was 25 g, the amount of chitosan was 2 g, the reaction time was 7 h, the yield of hydroxypropyl chitosan was 25.65%, and the grafting ratio was 68.81%

    Some nonlinear difference equations can be sometimes solved analytically using manual iteration which begins with some given initial conditions. Obtaining next iterations always depends on the previous ones.     Collaborative and Adaptive Framework for Telediagnosis and Prescriptions in Herbal Medicine

    Herbal medicine has been an age long tradition for the treatment and cure of diseases globally. Previous researches on telediagnosis and prescriptions in orthodox medicine studied applications of modern technological devices which could improve health care services. However, there is yet to be an exhaustive study on the audio-visual technological framework for telediagnosis and prescription in herbal medicine.  Hence, the research developed a collaborative and adaptive framework for telediagnosis and prescriptions in herbal medicine. The framework and its system were developed consisting of multimedia features for videoconferencing; ability to record, capture and replay consultations; and capacity for editing, data compression and short message service amongst herbal tele-consultants. The system was experimented on Ladoke Akintola University of Technology hotspot network for a period of twenty one days in order to determine the system’s average packet loss rate and packet transmitted with five herbal tele-consultant nodes (node-1, node2, node3, node4 and node5). All nodes were allotted Internet Protocol addresses through which the intending herbal tele-consultant(s) could be connected to the telediagnosis videoconference session. Three performance metrics, System Reliability Index (SRI), System Degree of Relevance (SDR), and System Ease of Usage (SEU) were used to carry out subject to the evaluation of the system by administering one hundred questionnaires herbal consultants to harvest users’ perception of the system based on a Likert rating scale. The results obtained from telediagnosis session showed that the system recorded packet loss rates of 3.46, 3.13, 3.42, 3.61 and 3.36% at node1, node2, node3, node4 and node5, respectively. Also, the average packets of 3123.2, 5017.6, 5683.2, 4454.4 and 4249.6 bits were obtained at node1, node2, node3, node4 and node5, respectively. The summary of the subjected evaluation of the system indicate that the respondent’s response means of 3.20, 2.88. and 3.42 were obtained for the SRI, SDR and SEU, respectively on a rating scale of 1 to 5
