No full textIl contributo prende in esame il "corpus" di deonimi italiani di origine letteraria antico-francese (comprendendovi anche quelli realizzatisi attraverso mediazioni secondarie), nel tentativo di verificarneil grado di continuità e discontinuità nell’italiano contemporaneo, ma soprattutto di valutarne letrasformazioni semantiche e funzionali, proponendo infine la descrizione di alcune formazionideonimiche di nuovo conio, mai registrate sotto questo aspetto.The essay examines the "corpus" of Italian deonyms of ancient-French literary origin (also includingthose created through secondary mediations), in order to verify the degree of continuity and discontinuityin Italian contemporary language, but above all to evaluate their semantic and functionaltransformations, finally proposing the description of some newly minted deonymic formations,never recorded in this aspect

No full textL’articolo esamina un aspetto della lingua del Devisement dou monde che finora non è stato studiatoapprofonditamente: il lessico della versione franco-italiana, che si conserva soltanto nel ms. BnFfr. 1116 (F) e in un frammento recentemente emerso (F1). La ricerca si concentra su alcune espressionispecifiche di F e di F1 che presentano difficoltà interpretative. I termini analizzati sono giambelot‘cammellotto’, papir/papier ‘carta’, morturié ‘assassino’, merule, che è probabilmente una lezioneerronea. Lo studio fornisce un contributo all’interpretazione di tali forme e, al contempo, evidenziacome l’etichetta di ‘franco-italiano’ sia inadeguata a esprimere la natura composita e stratificatadella lingua del Devisement dou monde.The article examines an aspect of the language of the Devisement dou monde that has not beenstudied in depth: the lexicon of the Franco-Italian version, preserved only in MS. BnF fr. 1116(F) and a recently discovered fragment (F1). The research focuses on specific expressions in Fand F1 that pose interpretive challenges. The terms analysed include giambelot ‘camlet’, papir/papier‘paper’, morturié ‘murderer’, and merule, the latter of which is likely a misreading. This study notonly sheds light on the interpretation of these forms but also highlights the inadequacy of theterm ‘Franco-Italian’ to fully capture the complex, multilayered nature of the language in the Devisementdou monde

In primo luogo, si offre un’analisi della "scripta" delle note per il miniatore presenti in molte carte del manoscritto; vengono poi proposte riflessioni sul progetto compositivo della miscellanea, a partire in particolare da alcune considerazioni relative alla novella di "Agnès et Meleus", trasmessa unicamente dal Pluteo.The essay deals with the ms. Firenze BML Plut. LXXVI.79, miscellany of Old French texts composed in Northern Italy. The first section is devoted to an analysis of the language of the annotations for the miniaturist. The contribution also offers insights on the criteria of composition of the miscellany; the main focus is on the "novella" known as "Agnès et Meleus", transmitted solely by the codex
Le "Passioni" francesi, Niccolò da Verona e una considerazione sugli «intarsi latini»
No full textIl "corpus" della letteratura franco-italiana conta tre "Passioni" narrative in versi, una delle quali a firma di Niccolò da Verona. Il contributo si propone di indagarne i rapporti con la tradizione oitanica – di cui si traccia un profilo –, mostrando come lo studio della traduzione e della rielaborazione in versi francesi del racconto del Calvario in Italia settentrionale contribuisca a gettare luce, più in generale, sulle diverse forme di ricezione e assimilazione della cultura letteraria di Francia all’interno dell’ambito linguistico-letterario del franco-italiano.The "corpus" of Franco-Italian literature includes three narrative poems of the Passion, one of which is by Niccolò da Verona. The contribution aims to investigate its relationship with the French tradition – of which an outline is sketched –, demonstrating how the study of the translation and adaptation in French verse of the Calvary narrative in northern Italy contributes to shed light, more generally, on the different forms of reception and assimilation of French literary culture within the Franco-Italian domain

L’ultimo appunto si sofferma sulla probabile influenza esercitata dall’"Entrée d’Espagne" sull’autore dell’"Hector".The contribution aims to present some observations on the textual tradition of the "Roman d’Hector et Hercule" and the text of the reference edition, published by Joseph Palermo in 1972. The last note dwells on the probable influence exerted by the "Entrée d’Espagne" on the author of "Hector"
Considerazioni su lessico, testo e fonti della "Passion" di Niccolò da Verona
No full textIl lavoro di lemmatizzazione condotto sulla "Passion" di Niccolò da Verona obbliga a riflettere sia sull’interpretazione da dare a determinate parole ed espressioni, e dunque sulla loro traduzione, sia sul testo dell’edizione di riferimento. L’articolo raccoglie alcune osservazioni nelle direzioni indicate, proponendo una serie di note lessicali e filologiche sul poemetto franco-italiano e un’ipotesi sulla possibile fonte di alcuni inserti latini.The lemmatization conducted on Niccolò da Verona’s "Passion" invites to reflect both on the interpretation of some words and expressions, and thus on their translation, and on the text of the reference edition. This article collects some observations in the indicated directions, proposing a series of lexical and philological notes on the Franco-Italian poem and a hypothesis on the possible source of some Latin inserts
‘Saracens’ in the Franco-Italian chansons de geste: humans not monsters
No full textThe Franco-Italian "chansons de geste" the "Entrée d’Espagne" and the "Prise de Pampelune" have nuanced depictions of certain individual non-Christians. This paper reads the texts alongside particular intertexts which find echoes in the texts themselves, to explore first how the "Entrée d’Espagne" works with the material it takes from the Pseudo-Turpin, a text which is evoked at the beginning of the"Entrée", with particular reference to the treatment of the giant Feragu. It then compares the family grouping of Ysoré and his parents in the "Entrée", where the emotions of the Saracens are explicitly depicted, with the family dynamics of the Saracens of "Fierabras", another text with many parallels in the "Entrée". Finally, the "Prise de Pampelune" is analysed as a response to the "Entrée"; here the noble Saracen Ysoré is finally converted, but his father’s emotions are expressed as complex and very human, despite his refusal of conversion. The two Franco-Italian texts are closely related, but very different in the degree of tolerance towards the unconverted Saracen, yet both present the Saracen enemy in human, not demonised, terms
