THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE TEACHING METHOD OF INQUIRY IN RELATION TO EMPIRICAL IN THE COURSE OF GEOGRAPHY

    Get PDF
Throughout his life, man observed the plastic formation of the earth, the climatic conditions, the variety of living beings, the human settlements, as well as the material and spiritual creations of his ancestors. Through observation, he ascertained the interactions of these elements and made sure to interpret and exploit them. Knowing the great importance of the course, it is necessary to diagnose why students do not manage to obtain a broader representation of space with the various forms of the earth's surface and realize the mutual dependence of man on the geophysical and cultural environment. A catalytic influence on students mastering geographical concepts is their teaching approach. This is achieved through various teaching methods used as means of learning and practice, such as the empirical method, comparative, abduction-induction-synthesis-analysis, constructive, and exploratory. With the empirical teaching method, students achieve empirical understanding, learning and retention. With the exploratory teaching method, they climb the stairs of the learning hierarchy, achieving understanding, distinction and generalization. First of all, teachers must be convinced through training seminars of the importance of the method, the goals we set for it, and the positive results resulting from its application. This is a basic prerequisite for achieving the objectives of the curriculum, because without the voluntary participation of teachers in this program, we will not have the desired results. On the threshold of the twenty-first century, when scientific research has offered great achievements to man, the introduction of this way of thinking through the exploratory teaching method is considered necessary and imperative.  Article visualizations

A LEXICAL SUBSYSTEM FRAMEWORK: BRIDGING THEORY AND PRACTICE IN TEACHING MOROCCAN HERB VOCABULARY

    Get PDF
This paper presents a framework for analyzing and teaching the English vocabulary of Moroccan herbs, synthesizing theoretical and instructional perspectives to enhance lexical competence. Anchored in Nation’s form-meaning-use framework, it explores the formal, semantic, and syntactic dimensions of herb-related nouns, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs within the culturally rich context of Moroccan herbs, addressing the scarcity of research on this herb vocabulary in the Moroccan context. By conceptualizing vocabulary as an integrated subsystem rather than isolated units, the framework addresses the pedagogical challenge of fostering multidimensional proficiency. The analysis examines phonological, orthographic, and morphological properties, alongside semantic networks and pragmatic functions. It underscores the value of contextualized instruction, leveraging the culinary, medicinal, and aesthetic significance of Moroccan herbs to promote linguistic accuracy, communicative competence, and intercultural engagement based on the students’ needs. The study proposes evidence-based strategies for integrating these linguistic properties into classroom practice, tailored for teachers and instructors. The framework is designed to enhance pedagogical relevance and learners’ linguistic precision, particularly in a professional context. Implications for instruction include a structured approach that bridges linguistic theory with practical application, offering scalable strategies to navigate dialectal variations, contextual nuances, and syntactic flexibility. By fostering a holistic understanding of the lexical subsystem, the framework enriches language teaching methodologies, enabling educators to cultivate learners’ ability to engage with specialized vocabulary and its cultural significance, thus contributing to innovative practices in vocabulary instruction.  Article visualizations

EXPLORING THE NEXUS BETWEEN HEALTH-ENHANCING PHYSICAL ACTIVITY AND ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY

    Get PDF
This study examined the relationship between health-enhancing physical activity (HEPA) and environmental sustainability. Guided by the Health Belief Model (HBM), this study used a positivist research philosophy and quantitative approach and a correlational research design. The study employed a stratified sampling technique to select 390 students. Data were collected through a self-developed questionnaire with a Cronbach's reliability coefficient of 0.84 and analysed using frequency, percentages, means, standard deviations, as well as Pearson’s Product-Moment Correlation. Findings indicate that students engage in moderate but mostly structured physical activities, with academic workload and screen time as key barriers to self-initiated participation. While students recognize the importance of environmental sustainability, their active engagement in sustainability efforts remains limited. A moderate but statistically positive relationship was found between physical activity engagement and environmental sustainability attitudes, suggesting that integrating eco-friendly initiatives into physical education can enhance both student participation and environmental responsibility.  The study recommends incorporating sustainability-focused activities such as eco-walks, recycling programs, and awareness campaigns in schools. These strategies can promote independent physical activity while fostering environmental stewardship, contributing to holistic student well-being and ecological consciousness.  Article visualizations

Immunology is a fundamental discipline in medical education, but is often perceived as challenging due to its complex concepts and cognitive demands. This study explores future physicians' perceptions of immunology, the difficulties they encounter, their use of educational resources, and the impact of immunology on their career choices. To accomplish this, we adopted a mixed approach by conducting two studies: a quantitative study to gather students' perceptions of immunology and a qualitative study analyzing the immunology course content for second-year medical students. The results reveal that while most students (88.8%) view immunology as essential or very essential to their medical training, and 59.3% report that immunology influences their choice of medical specialization, 55.5% of our sample feel underprepared to apply immunological concepts in clinical contexts. These findings underscore the need to modernize immunology education in medical faculties by incorporating interactive tools, emphasizing clinical applications, and addressing the cognitive challenges posed by the discipline. Article visualizations
