    INDEKS KELIMPAHAN DAN KARAKTERISTIK DAERAH PENANGKAPAN RAJUNGAN (Portunus pelagicus) DI PERAIRAN MADURA

    Perairan Madura merupakan salah satu daerah penangkapan rajungan (Portunus pelagicus) yang ada di Jawa Timur. Parameter oseanografi dipercaya dapat mempengaruhi distribusi rajungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami hasil tangkapan rajungan dan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi distribusi rajungan yang ada di Perairan Madura. Data lokasi dan hasil tangkapan rajungan diperoleh dengan cara ikut secara langsung nelayan yang melakukan penangkapan rajungan di perairan Madura. Parameter oseanografi (suhu permukaan laut, salinitas, dan kedalaman) diperoleh dari oceancolor website (https://oceancolor.gsfc.nasa.gov/), Copernicus Marine Environment Monitoring Service (CMEMS) website (http://marine.copernicus.eu/), dan General Bathymetric Chart of the Oceans (Gebco) melalui website (https://www.gebco.net/data_and_products/gridded_bathymetry_data/). Data diproses dengan menggunakan SeaDas package ver. 7. 4 and ArcGIS 10.2. Pengaruh parameter oseanografi terhadap distribusi rajungan digunakan habitat modelling, maximum entropy model. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa indeks kelimpahan di Bangkalan (6.28 kg/trip) paling tinggi dibanding Pamekasan (2.21 kg/trip) dan Sumenep (3.09 kg/trip). Secara umum jumlah rajungan betina (52%) yang tertangkap lebih banyak dibandingkan rajungan jantan (48%). Berdasarkan beratnya, sebanyak 77% rajungan yang tertangkap merupakan rajungan yang layak tangkap (lebih besar dari ukuran legal minimum), sedangkan berdasarkan lebar karapas, 72% rajungan yang tertangkap layak tangkap. Hasil pemodelan menunjukkan bahwa bathimetry mempunyai pengaruh yang paling besar terhadap distribusi rajungan dikuti oleh suhu permukaan laut dan salinitas. Aktivitas penangkapan rajungan banyak dilakukan pada kedalaman 5 – 10 m. Selain itu,  hasil penelitian ini juga menunjukkan bahwa rajungan menyukai selang suhu permukaan laut antara 30 – 32°C dan salinitas antara 27 – 32 ppt. Madura waters is one of the fishing areas for blue swimming crab (Portunus pelagicus) in East Java. Oceanographic parameters are believed to affect the distribution of crabs. This study aims to understand the catch of crabs and the factors that influence the distribution of crabs in the Madura Strait. Location data and crab catches were obtained by direct participation of fishermen who caught crabs in the Madura waters. Oceanographic parameters (sea surface temperature, salinity, and depth) were obtained from the oceancolor website (https://oceancolor.gsfc.nasa.gov/), the Copernicus Marine Environment Monitoring Service (CMEMS) website (http://marine.copernicus.eu/), and General Bathymetric Chart of the Oceans (Gebco) through the website (https://www.gebco.net/data_and_products/gridded_bathymetry_data/). The data was processed using the SeaDas package ver. 7. 4 and ArcGIS 10.2. The effect of oceanography on the distribution of crabs, the maximum entropy model, was used. The results showed that the abundance index in Bangkalan (6.28 kg/trip) was the highest compared to Pamekasan (2.21 kg/trip) and Sumenep (3.09 kg/trip). In general, the number of female crabs (52%) was caught more than the male crabs (48%). Based on the weight, 77% of the crabs caught were suitable for catching (greater than minimum legal size), while based on the width of the carapace, 72% of the crabs caught were suitable for catching. The modeling results showed that bathimetry has the greatest influence on the distribution of crabs followed by sea surface temperature and salinity. Many crab catching activities are carried out at a depth of 5-10 m. In addition, the results of this study also showed that the crabs prefer the sea surface temperature between 30 - 32°C and salinity between 27 - 32 ppt

    The relationship between length type, length-weight relationship and condition factors is an initial approach to fisheries management. Research related to that issue on spotted barb (Barbodes binotatus) in four lake ecosystems in Bali has never been published. This study aims to reveals information related to the relationship of length character, growth patterns and conditions of B. binotatus in four lake ecosystems in Bali. Fish sampling was carried out from August 2017 to July 2018 at Tamblingan Lake, Buyan Lake, Beratan Lake and Batur Lake which were carried out alternately. The results of this study revealed that the total length (TL), fork length (FL) and standard length (SL), each type of measurement can be used to estimate the weight of B. binotatus, but standard length was the most suitable type of measurement in estimating weights. This fish species has a positive allometric growth pattern (b>3) with an estimated condition that is in good condition

    The use of traceability systems in the food industry is very important for performing search actions in the event of a product withdrawal. The use of the FMECA method in evaluating the level of efficiency and effectiviveness of the traceability system, through the possibility of failures that arise in the traceability sytem implemented. Data analysis was perfomed based on an expert system using the FMECA method. The result of the FMECA conducted on the traceability management system there are 27 points of failure, each function has local effects and global effects. The results recorded from the FMECA analysis show that there are 11 critical points in the acceptable without revision area, 13 points are in the acceptable area with revision, and 2 points are in the undesirable area. The traceability of frozen tuna products at tuna freezing companies has been going well with 2 traceability critical points

    To realize efficient, sustainable and sustainable use of capture fisheries, it is necessary to regulate the optimum number of fishing facilities or vessels. The purpose of this study is to calculate the optimum allocation of selected fishing vessels. Optimum allocation of fishing vessels of choice or priority to types of superior fish resources based on the maximum allowable potential. The analytical method used to calculate the optimization of fishing vessels using Linear Goal Programming (LGP) analysis. Linear Goal Programming (LGP) analysis is used to analyze the dynamics of capture fisheries management which is focused on the optimum allocation of the needs of existing fishing vessels. Linear Goal Programming (LGP) analysis is used to analyze the dynamics of capture fisheries management which is focused on the optimum allocation of the needs of existing fishing vessels. The optimal allocation of fishing vessels to catch Grouper, Snapper and Mackerel is fishing gear (X4) with a size of <5 GT, an allocation of 1,201 vessels per year. To catch the kite and cob commodities, three types of fishing gear were allocated, namely ring purseseine (X1) as many as 10 vessels with a size of 10-15 GT, an allocation of 10 vessels per year, a lift net (X2) with a size <5 GT, an allocation of 150 vessels per year. and gill nets (X3) with a size of <5 GT with an allocation of 100 vessels per year

    EFFECT OF CARAGENAN ON THE QUALITY OF FISH JELLY PRODUCTS OF KAKI NAGA

    Carrageenan has been added to various fish jelly products. Some studies shown that the addition of carrageenan can affect the consumer preferences and the quality of some fish jelly products. So far, there is no study about the consumer preferences and the effect of  carrageenan into the chemical composition for fish jelly products made from grouper fish. Therefore this research was conducted to determine the effect of the carrageenan on the chemical composition of fish jelly products and to obtain the best composition of fish and carrageenan. Procedures of making fish jelly products and also sensory analysis are carried out in accordance with Indonesian National Standards (SNI) No. 7759:2013). Sensory test data were analyzed using the kruskal wallis followed by the Least significance Different Test (LSD), while the chemical composition were analyzed using ANOVA (Analysis of Variance). The Kruskal wallis analysis showed that carrageenan has significant effect on appearance of fish jelly products and also has significant effect on the protein and crude fiber content, and no significant effect on the moisture, ash, and fat content. Product with 1% of carrageenan as the the preference of consumer contains 50.96% of water, 1.74% of ash, 10.90% of fat, and 14.59% of protein. It’s composition is in accordance with the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) No. 7759-2013

    Pengaruh Fitoplankton Sebagai Pakan Alami Terhadap Pertumbuhan Larva Udang Vaname (Litopenaeus vannamei)

    Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengevaluasi peran fitoplankton sebagai pakan alami terhadap laju pertumbuhan larva udang vannamei. Observasi dilaksanakan pada bulan Oktober hingga November 2020, berlokasi di Balai Besar Agronomi Air Payau (BBAP), Ujung Bate, Aceh. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode eksperimen Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL). Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam kondisi indoor dengan 5 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan untuk mengetahui pengaruh fitoplankton spesies Skeletonemacostatum, Chaetoceros sp, Thalasiosira sp dan kombinasinya terhadap perkembangan udang Vannamei. Perawatan dalam penelitian ini meliputi: Larva diberi pakan Thalassiosira sp. dan diet buatan (A); larva diberi makan fitoplankton Chaetoceros sp dan pakan buatan (B). Larva diberi makan Skeletonemacostatum dan diet buatan (C). Larva diberi pakan Thallasiosira sp, Chaetoceros sp, Skeletonemacostatum dan pakan buatan (D). Larva kemudian diberi pakan buatan (E). Analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah one way analysis of variance (ANOVA). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kombinasi guling normal dengan fitoplankton dan pakan palsu dengan Skeletonema costatum dan pakan palsu memberikan hasil yang jauh lebih baik dibandingkan dengan pakan palsu tanpa pakan alami berdasarkan parameter perkembangan dan kemajuan tukik udang vanamei (stadia PL-3). Namun demikian, tidak terdapat pengaruh yang berarti antara perlakuan guling karakteristik (fitoplankton) terhadap perkembangan dan peningkatan tukik udang vannamei

    Pemetaan Tingkat Kerentanan Wilayah Pesisir Terhadap Perubahan Iklim di Kecamatan Gending, Kabupaten Probolinggo

    Kecamatan Gending, Kabupaten Probolinggo merupakan kawasan industri yang mulai berkembang di pesisir utara Jawa Timur. Perkembangan industri tersebut memicu terjadinya pemanasan global (perubahan iklim) yang dapat memberikan dampak negatif bagi lingkungan diantaranya adalah abrasi pantai, kemunduran garis pantai, konflik penggunaan lahan, kerusakan fisik khususnya habitat pesisir, dan lain sebagainya. Perubahan iklim yang yang terjadi terus-menerus akan dapat meningkatkan kerentanan wilayah terhadap bencana salah satunya adalah banjir rob. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji tingkat kerentanan di wilayah tersebut terhadap perubahan iklim menggunakan metode Coastal Vulnerability Index (CVI). Metode CVI merupakan metode pembobotan relatif berbasis skala indeks dari parameter fisik. Parameter fisik yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini meliputi parameter pasang surut, tinggi gelombang, kemiringan pantai, perubahan garis pantai, kenaikan muka air laut, ketinggian permukaan tanah dan geomorfologi (tutupan lahan). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Kecamatan Gending yang meliputi beberapa Desa diantaranya Desa Curahsawo, Desa Pajurangan, Desa Gending, Desa Pesisir dan Desa Klaseman memiliki tingkat kerentanan yang sedang dengan parameter paling berpengaruh adalah kenaikan muka air laut, dan parameter yang paling rendah pengaruhnya adalah parameter tinggi gelombang. Berdasarkan hasil analisis tersebut maka diperlukan upaya penanggulangan berupa kegiatan mitigasi baik secara hard structure maupun soft untuk mengurangi dampak dari bencana banjir rob di wilayah pesisir

    IDENTIFIKASI SENYAWA POTENSIAL ANTIOKSIDAN PADA MAKROALGA COKELAT Turbinaria ornata DARI PANTAI GUNUNGKIDUL, YOGYAKARTA

    Makroalga cokelat memiliki kandungan senyawa bioaktif yang bermanfaat dalam berbagai bidang kesehatan. Salah satu jenis makroalga cokelat dengan potensi antioksidan adalah Turbinaria ornata. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi kandungan senyawa potensial antioksidannya. Fraksinasi terhadap ekstrak T. ornata dilakukan untuk memfokuskan jenis senyawa potensial antioksidan. Ekstrak dan fraksi dengan potensi antioksidan terbaik dianalisis kandungan senyawanya dengan gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). Pemantauan dengan plat kromatografi lapis tipis (KLT) juga dilakukan terhadap fraksi dengan potensi antioksidan terbaik. Hasil analisis GC-MS dan KLT mengidentifkasi senyawa hidrokarbon dodecane, asam lemak ester hexadecanoic acid ethyl ester, monoterpenoid dyhidroacnidiolide dan loliolide, senyawa fenol resorcinol serta flavonoid kaempherol sebagai senyawa-senyawa potensial pendukung aktivitas antioksidan makroalga cokelat T. ornata. Study menyimpulkan bahwa senyawa-senyawa tersebut memiliki potensi dalam mendukung aktivitas antioksidan makroalga cokelat T. ornata. Brown macroalgae contain abundant bioactive compounds and are used in various medical applications. Turbinaria ornata is one of the brown macroalgae species suspected to have promising antioxidant potential. This recent study was conducted to identify the potential antioxidant compounds in T. ornata. Fractionation of T. ornata extract was done to differentiate the types of potential antioxidant compounds. Extracts and fractions with the best antioxidant potential were analyzed using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). The fractions with the best antioxidant potential were monitored using the thin layer chromatography (TLC) plate. The analyses have determined the presence of bioactive compounds such as dodecane, hexadecanoic acid ethyl ester, monoterpenoids dyhidroacnidiolide and loliolide, resorcinol and kaempherol in the tested samples of brown macroalga T. ornata. These compounds have measurable effects on the antioxidant activity of the brown macroalgae. This study concluded that the identified bioactive compounds are deemed as potential compounds supporting the antioxidant activity of the brown macroalgae T. ornata
