ASSESMENT OF HEAVY METAL POLLUTION (Hg, Pb, Cd) IN THE PASURUAN SEA: STATUS AND COUNTERMEASURES
Pasuruan Regency is a major industrial center in Indonesia where their heavy metal industrial waste accompanied by , household waste, and agricultural activities polluted Pasuruan waters. The purpose of this study was to determine the status of heavy metal pollution in the Pasuruan sea in the coastal areas of Kraton, Lekok and Nguling and to find out how to overcome it. The survey method was used in this study to analyze the levels of heavy metals (Hg, Pb, Cd) in the waters and calculate the water pollution status based on the pollution index and water quality. Water sampling is carried out at a depth of between 2-15 meters at 3 stationary lift nets (Bagan tancap) at each location. The results showed that the highest levels of heavy metals were found in Lekok waters. The results of the calculation of the pollution index (IP) show that Lekok water has a heavy pollution status for all types of heavy metals (Hg, Pb, Cd). The pollution status in Nguling and Kraton waters based on the Hg and Cd pollution index is classified as heavily polluted. Meanwhile, heavy metal levels of Pb still meet water quality standards. The results of measurements of temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen, salinity, and current velocity are classified as optimum for aquatic biota. Based on the research results, it is known that there are areas of Pasuruan waters that are heavily polluted. Therefore, better water quality management is needed to meet the needs of biota by planting Rizhophora mucronata mangroves

Strengthening Future Maritime Transportation Management Through Cognitive Flexibility and Entrepreneurial Mindset Among Generation Z Maritime Students
This study analyzes how digital self-efficacy and social media algorithms influence the development of cognitive flexibility and entrepreneurial mindset among Generation Z maritime students, while identifying policy strategies to integrate these factors into maritime education. Using a quantitative approach with survey data from 209 active students analyzed through Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM), the results reveal that digital self-efficacy and social media algorithms significantly influence entrepreneurial mindset and directly affect cognitive flexibility. However, cognitive flexibility does not serve as a mediator between the two independent variables and entrepreneurial mindset. These findings indicate that confidence in digital abilities and exposure to algorithm-driven content are key determinants shaping entrepreneurial thinking among maritime students, whereas the rigid and discipline-oriented nature of maritime education limits the development of adaptive and reflective cognitive skills. The study provides theoretical and practical contributions to understanding the psychological and digital dynamics influencing entrepreneurial readiness in the maritime field. Policy implications highlight the need for maritime higher education institutions and government agencies to strategically leverage social media algorithms and enhance digital self-efficacy through curriculum reform, experiential learning, and digital incubation programs. Aligning these initiatives with Indonesia’s national maritime vision (Visi Poros Maritim Dunia) can foster a new generation of maritime graduates who are not only digitally competent and innovative but also capable of becoming job creators rather than job seekers, contributing to sustainable maritime economic transformation
ECONOMIC VALUE OF MANGROVE ECOSYSTEM IN TANGERANG REGENCY, BANTEN PROVINCE
The mangrove ecosystem plays a strategic role in supporting the sustainability of coastal environments through the provision of ecosystem services, which offer both economic and ecological benefits to local communities. However, mangrove ecosystems are facing degradation and the threat of destruction, including in the coastal areas of Tangerang Regency. The value of these ecosystems is often not fully quantified in resource assessments, necessitating research on the economic valuation of mangrove ecosystems. This study employs a mixed-methods approach with a sequential exploratory design, utilizing a questionnaire as the research instrument. Respondent sampling was conducted using purposive sampling combined with surveys and snowball sampling techniques. The data analysis focused on valuing ecosystem services, such as economic valuation through a combination of travel cost methods, replacement cost, primary productivity of litter, and carbon stock estimation, to calculate the total value of mangrove ecosystem services in Tangerang Regency. The results of the analysis show that the economic value of the ecosystem in this area amounts to IDR 52,005,917,307 per year, which is a combination of provisioning, regulating, cultural, and supporting services. Overall, this value is considered undervalued when compared to similar studies in Rembang, which reported IDR 85,166,427,218 per year, but overvalued when compared to Karawang, which reported IDR 2,528,000,709. These differences are influenced by factors such as mangrove area, ecological condition, productivity levels, and the parameters used in the calculations. This finding underscores the need for sustainable mangrove management and conservation to optimize both its economic and ecological benefits, while simultaneously enhancing coastal resilience against the threats of climate change and environmental degradation
IMPACT OF PROTEIN AND PROBIOTIC SUPPLEMENTATION ON IMMUNITY AND SURVIVAL OF Clarias gariepinus UNDER PATHOGEN CHALLENGE IN AQUACULTURE
Bacterial infections, particularly those caused by Pseudomonas aeruginosa, pose a threat to aquaculture and lead to economic losses in African catfish (Clarias gariepinus). This study evaluates the effects of dietary protein and probiotic supplementation on fish health, growth performance, and survival following P. aeruginosa infection, using both in vitro and in vivo approaches. The in vitro assays determined the infective dose of P. aeruginosa and its interactions with probiotics. At the same time, in vivo trials assessed survival, behavioral responses, feed utilization efficiency, and pathological changes over 72 hours. Furthermore, fish were fed varying protein levels (35%, 40%, and 45%) and probiotic concentrations (1:2:3 ratio) for two months before being challenged with bacteria. Higher protein (40–45%) and probiotic supplementation (2–3 mL) significantly improved survival rates (up to 83.33%), reduced weight loss, and mitigated organ damage as opposed to groups with lower supplementation (50% survival), though lower than the uninfected controls (100% survival). The improved survival and reduced pathological damage in probiotic-supplemented fish suggest a potential enhancement of immune defense mechanisms and overall physiological resilience. Probiotics have been reported to modulate immune responses by promoting beneficial microbiota, competing with pathogens, and supporting host immunity, which may contribute to the observed protective effects. Additionally, probiotic-fed groups exhibited improved water quality with lower accumulation of nitrogenous waste in infected tanks. These findings suggest that protein- and probiotic-enriched diets enhance disease resilience, feed efficiency, and water quality in aquaculture, supporting sustainable fish production through nutritional and health improvement. Future research is recommended to investigate immune-related biomarkers to better understand the immune-modulatory effects of these dietary interventions
