Evaluation with trend analysis of the open surface evaporation in observed for many years: The Case Study in Nevsehir Province of Turkey
In this study, the trends of the climate station belonging to the Turkish General Directorate of Meteorology in the center of Nevsehir province of Turkey between 2001-2019 years were subjected to the Rho’s correlation tests of Mann Kendall and Sperman for years of maximum open surface evaporation and total open surface evaporation. According to the results of the trend analysis, the maximum open surface evaporation was 59,7 mm and the total open surface evaporation was calculated as 1013,2 mm in the center of Nevsehir Province over long period. It was observed that the average maximum temperature value was 24 oC for long years and the total precipitation average was 363,6 mm. It was observed that there was a significant increase in open surface evaporation values varying in years in spring, winter and autumn. According to the trend analysis results made for many years, a trend was not observed in the Maximum and total open surface evaporation parameters in Nevsehir province of Turke
Prevalence of dysmenorrhoeal pain and its impact on school performance: A cross-sectional study
BangladeshABSTRACTMenstruation is normal biological phenomena for girls and women. During menstruation, girls and women feel a certain degree of pain (dysmenorrhea) that can be minor to severe resulting obstacles in carrying daily life activities including school. This study was conducted to determine how dysmenorrheal pain has affected the students’school as well as daily life along with prevailing social and cultural norms during menstruation. Following a cross-sectional design, this study took place among 366 students of Kathmandu (66.1%) and Dhading (33.9%) in Nepal of aged from 13 to 20 years. Of all the samples, 89% of the students complained of having dysmenorrhea where moderate degree of pain had the highest frequency of 49.7%. Nonetheless of the degree of pain, 45.1% missed school because of it. Besides missing classes, 81% didn’t participate in sports activities during their period. 38% students regularly followed restrictions applied during period while 34% followed them sometimes only. 83% complained about school administration failing to address periodic problems. I would recommend the school administration to have an infirmary where the students can take rest and continue their classes after that. Adding on to it, the administration should be able to provide emergency sanitary pads and heat pads, so that the students dont have to go back home and miss their classes
Morphological variability and taxonomic affinity of cocoa (Theobroma cacao L.) clones from Central Sulawesi, Indonesia
Cocoa (Theobroma cacao L.) is one of the most important export commodities of Indonesia, with Sulawesi becomes the largest cocoa production centers in Indonesia. Since the majority cocoa production comes from Sulawesi Island, there is high diversity of cocoa clones cultivated in this area. The objective of this study was to explore morphological variability and to assess taxonomic affinity of cocoa clones cultivated by smallholder farmers in four districts of Central Sulawesi, Indonesia. Nineteen cocoa clones from the districts of Sigibiromaru, Palolo, South Parigi and Sausu were used in this study. Fourteen morphological characters of leaves, fruits, and beans were examined. Cluster analysis were done to determine taxonomic affinity between the clones. Results of this study indicated that there was high morphological variability, mainly in fruit or pod characters. Cluster analysis on 14 morphological characters resulted in the grouping of the clones into two main clusters. The grouping of cocoa clones did not correspond to the geographical origin of samples. It is concluded that taxonomic affinity was determined by similarities of morphology, especially fruit and bean characters
Chemical profiling of two aromatic weeds, Cyathocline purpurea and Blumea lacera
In the present investigation chemical constituents of Cyathocline purpurea (Buch.-Ham. ex D.Don) Kuntze and Blumea lacera (Burm.f.) DC. (Family-Compositae) were studied by using gas chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry (GC/MS). These two weeds are small herbs and well known for its potent medicinal properties. Total 17 and 27 compounds were identified from C. purpurea and B. lacera respectively. The major constituents in both the extracts were pentadecanoic acid, 14-methyl-, methyl ester (30.56 %), cis-phytol (21.26 %), α- cadinol (7.87 %), γ-cadinene (7.13 %), neophytadiene (3.81 %) and α-cubebene (1.82 %). GC/MS analysis revealed the presence of various bioactive compounds such as fatty acids, sesquiterpenoids, phenols, etc. in the acetone extracts of both the plants. The identified compounds have various biological activities
Diversity and distribution of microfungi in foliage leaf, bark and leaf litter of Couroupita guianensis
The diversity and distribution of micro fungal assemblages in the foliage leaf, bark and leaf litter tissues of the Couroupita guianensis sacred plant. For the host, we recorded 1005 fungal species isolates from 900 tissue segments. A total of 62 fungal species were isolated from foliar endophytes, phellophytes and leaf litter. The colonization frequency of the fungi species has been recorded as 111.66% from the endophytes, phellophytes and leaf tissues. The fungi species recovered in various groups included ascomycetes, coelomycetes, hyphomycetes, zygomycetes and sterile fungi. The number of fungal species is increased for the plant tissues, it showed that the species diversity is increasing. A correspondence analysis also showed that the fungal species assemblages were different from each type of tissue

Prevalence of Staphylococcus aureus, Klebsiella spp., Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas spp. in some common Bangladeshi milk and dairy products
The study was done to isolate Klebsiella spp., Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli & Pseudomonas spp. from raw milk, processed milk (powdered milk & ultra-high-temperature milk) and dairy products (mango milk, and ice cream). During 3 months’ time span of study, a total of ten samples were gathered where eight of the samples powdered milk (2), ultra-high-temperature milk (2), ice cream (2) & mango milk (2) were gathered from different places of Bangladesh & other 2 samples (raw milk) were collected from a cattle farm & individual households in & around Noakhali city. The samples were gathered under aseptic safety measures and were followed by plating on non-selective media (Nutrient broth) & selective media (Mannitol Salt Agar & Macconkey agar). The presumptive Klebsiella spp., Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli & Pseudomonas spp. isolates were identified by biochemical tests. Analysis of the result discovered that out of a total of 10 samples; raw milk (2), processed milk i.e. powdered milk (2), ultra-high-temperature milk (2) and dairy products i.e. mango milk (2) and ice cream (2) resulted in the isolation of 8 isolates (2.5%) of S. aureus, (12.5%) of Klebsiella spp., (2.5%) of Pseudomonas spp. & (2.5%) of Escherichia coli. Results recommended a probability of potential public health threat of Staphylococcus aureus, Klebsiella spp., Escherichia coli & Pseudomonas spp. resulting from contamination of milk and dairy products with pathogenic microorganisms is mainly due to unhygienic practices and conditions in the handling, production, and processing
Cyathodium denticulatum Udar et Srivastava: A rare liverwort new to Chhattisgarh, Central India
This article reports the occurrence of the thalloid liverwort Cyathodium denticulatum Udar et Srivastava was collected first time from the Achanakmar – Amarkantak Biosphere Reserve (AABR) Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh. It is shown that Cyathodium denticulatum a narrow Himalayan endemic has been reported earlier from Darjeeling, India. There is no record of its occurrence from central India. Cyathodium denticulatum is a rare species known only from eastern Himalayan region. A key to related Indian taxa and taxonomic description is provided
Machine vision detection of pests, diseases, and weeds: A review
Most of mankind’s living and workspace have been or going to be blended with smart technologies like the Internet of Things. The industrial domain has embraced automation technology, but agriculture automation is still in its infancy since the espousal has high investment costs and little commercialization of innovative technologies due to reliability issues. Machine vision is a potential technique for surveillance of crop health which can pinpoint the geolocation of crop stress in the field. Early statistics on crop health can hasten prevention strategies such as pesticide, fungicide applications to reduce the pollution impact on water, soil, and air ecosystems. This paper condenses the proposed machine vision relate research literature in agriculture to date to explore various pests, diseases, and weeds detection mechanisms
Impact of soaking, sprouting on antioxidant and anti-nutritional factors in millet grains
Commonly consumed millet types viz., Little millet, foxtail millet, pearl millet, finger millet, and Kodo millet were tested under two processing methods of soaking and germination at a different time point. Most popular processing practices adopted by Indian households were studied for their influence on the biochemical properties, antioxidant profile, and anti-nutritive factors. The results showed that the sprouting process showed a maximum influence on the antioxidant and anti-nutritive factors. The comparative analysis of the five millets suggested 24h soaking and 24h germination was found to be best for producing nutritionally enriched millet products. Tannin content decreases with an increase in germination. The reduction in tannin was about 50% in little millet (0.347 mg/g) and the highest was recorded in finger millet (2.07 mg/g). The highest amount of saponin content was found in pearl millet( 39.53 mg/g) followed by finger millet ( 34.86 mg/g) with 24 hr soaking and 24 hr germination. The phytase activity was found to be higher in little millet (61.520 u/kg) when prolonged soaking and germination. The DPPH assay showed sprouted foxtail millet grains contain more antioxidant activity (81.13%) when extent the period of soaking and germination
