    The Implementation of K13 Curriculum in Madrasah Aliyah in The South West Region of Aceh (English Teachers’ Perspectives)

    Teacher's perception of the K-13 is believed to be one of the factors that lead to the success or failure of the curriculum implementation. This is because the K-13 makes teachers have to adjust and change the learning style in the classroom.  Considering the various phenomena about the K-13, the researcher was interested in conducting research the Implementation of the K-13 in the South West Region of Aceh (English Teachers’ Perspectives).  In this research, the researchers also analyzed some obstacles faced by the English Teachers in implementing the K-13 and what solutions offered by STAIN Teungku Dirundeng Meulaboh as one of the universities which produce the teachers in the South West Region of Aceh. The research applied quantitative and qualitative approach that involved 21 English teachers who teach English at Madrasah across South West of Aceh. The result of the study indicated that the implementation of K-13 has not been effective due to several reasons such as the allocation time is insufficient and too many forms of assessment. Moreover, the English teachers issued that the biggest obstacle in implementing the K-13 was the excessive administrative demands. Therefore, the government of Indonesia, in this matter, the Deparment of Education has to ascertain that the majority of English teachers receive training related to K-13 and review the time allocation provided to the English teachers. For the English teachers, they should be creative and innovative in improving their understanding on K-13 using printed and online resources

    Keperluan Pendakwah Muslimah dalam Dakwah Kontemporari kepada Masyarakat

    Women’s participation and engagement as Islamic preachers nowadays indeed play an imperative role in preaching (messeges da’wah) towards Islam. Their involvement have becoming a main contributor in reaching out to the community about Islam.The study is conducted due to the lack of preachers among women who are directly involve in preaching the society. Besides, this study is also conducted after considering their weaknesses in using contemporary approaches, lack of information and ability to give out opinion in solving current issues pertaining to women. Their roles in delivering the content of da’wah that focus on the aspect of women and society that are based on the Qur’an and Sunnah are undisputable. Therefore, the objective of this study is to investigate the need of Muslim women in delivering contemporary and Islamic teaching about messeges da’wah to the society from the perspective of the Qur’an. This study will employed qualitative method by using documentations supported using verses from the Qur’an, Hadith and views from Islamic scholars about the work at hand. The finding from this study showed that women play significant roles in delivering the messeges da’wah especially in the issues such as in faith, sharia, morals and current women issues based on the verses from the Qur’an. This might be due to the fact that women preachers use a more feminine, personal and empathy approach that might be more effective in delivering Islamic messeges and teaching.     Reform of The Islamic Education System in Indonesia According to Azyumardi Azra

    Rapid technological change requires Islamic educational institutions to make changes in various aspects, fundamentally and comprehensively so that Islamic education is able to face the global challenges of education towards civil society. If not, he will be left far behind from modern education. In Indonesia, Azyumardi Azra is one of the professors who is concerned in the field of education whose thoughts can be used as role models in the reform of Indonesian Islamic education. The study of the concept of renewal of the Islamic education system according to Azyumardi Azra was reviewed based on the social background and historical setting of the renewal of Islamic education that took place in the early XX century in Indonesia. Azyumardi's thoughts Azra helped to give a new color to Islamic educational institutions in Indonesia, besides introducing new systems and methods, educational figures at that time also integrated general sciences into the curriculum of Islamic education so that it could bring Islamic schools and higher education. This study is descriptive analysis using a sociological historical and social hermeneutical approach. The method of study in the form of content analysis namely analysis of the text content and hermeuneutic analysis based on the interpretation of his books and his papers. Azyumardi Azra sees the reformation of the Islamic education system is very important that functions as an instrument in the creation of Indonesian human resources that have intellectual, spiritual, and moral. The results of this study can be concluded that the acceptance of a modern Islamic education system is projected to play a more constructive role in welcoming civilized societies capable of integrating Islamic, scientific, and Indonesian-oriented educational systems. The Islamic element is a great concern for the classical Islamic treasures which enables the emergence of educational results that have spiritual qualities. The scientific element compromises general science with religious knowledge. While the Indonesian element is intended because the pesantren institution is used as a reference for future education. the concept of cohesiveness in the education system is used as a philosophical reference framework for education that is capable of producing leaders and at the same time has an Islamic scientific ethos in civic education. This is clearly seen in the grounding of universal Islamic values at the time of the reform of the Islamic higher education system initiated by Azyumardi Azra. Abstrak Perubahan dan kemajuan teknologi yang pesat menuntut lembaga pendidikan Islam melakukan perubahan dalam berbagai aspek, secara mendasar dan menyeluruh agar pendidikan Islam mampu menghadapi tantangan global pendidikan menuju masyarakat madani. Jika tidak, ia akan tertinggal jauh dari pendidikan modern. Di Indonesia, Azyumardi Azra adalah salah seorang guru besar yang konsen dalam bidang pendidikan yang pemikirannya dapat dijadikan sebagai rol model dalam pembaharuan pendidikan Islam Indonesia. Kajian tentang konsep pembaharuan system pendidikan Islam menurut Azyumardi Azra dikaji berdasarkan latar belakang sosial dan setting sejarah pembaharuan pendidikan Islam yang terjadi pada awal abad XX di Indonesia. Pemikiran Azyumardi Azra ikut memberikan warna baru bagi lembaga pendidikan Islam di Indonesia, disamping memperkenalkan sistem dan metode baru, tokoh-tokoh  pendidikan ketika itu juga memadukan ilmu-ilmu umum kedalam kurikulum pendidikan Islam sehingga melahirkan madrasah dan pendidikan tinggi Islam. Kajian ini bersifat descriptive analisis dengan menggunakan pendekatan historis sosiologis dan hermeunetik social. Metode kajiannya berupa: Contens analisis yakni analisis isi dari teks dan  hermeuneutik analisis yakni interpretasi buku-buku dan tulisan-tulisannya. Azyumardi Azra melihat eksistensi pembaharuan sistem pendidikan Islam sangat penting yang  berfungsi sebagai instrumen dalam penciptaan SDM Indonesia yang memiliki intelektual, spiritual, dan moral. Hasil kajian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerimaan sistem pendidikan Islam yang modern diproyeksikan dapat berperan lebih konstruktif menyongsong masyarakat berperadaban yang mampu mengintegrasikan sistem pendidikan berwawasan keislaman, keilmuan, dan keindonesiaan. Unsur keislaman merupakan perhatian besar terhadap khazanah Islam klasik yang memungkinkan lahirnya hasil pendidikan yang memiliki kualitas spiritual. Unsur keilmuan mengkompromikan ilmu umum dengan ilmu agama. Sedangkan unsur keindonesiaan dimaksudkan karena institusi pesantren yang dijadikan rujukan pendidikan masa depan. konsep keterpaduan dalam sistem pendidikan tersebut dijadikan kerangka rujukan filosofis pendidikan yang mampu melahirkan pemimpin dan sekaligus memiliki etos keilmuan Islam dalam pendidikan kewarganegaraan (civil education).     Mubadalah Perspective: A Progressive Reading on Book of Dhau’ Al-Mishbah fi Bayani Ahkam An-Nikah

    This article tries to portray the concept of duties and rights between man and women in the family based on the book of Hasyim Asy’ari (Dhau’ al-Mishbah Fi Bayani Ahkam an-Nikah. By elaborating the theory of reciprocity (mubadalah) created by Faqihuddin Abdul Kodir, this article wants to reinterpret that concept in order to be adjusted to the contemporary condition of how man and women build relation which can be harmonized properly in the household. This article is a normative research using conceptual approach. The writer finds that although there were divisions of rights and duties in detail, but it ideally should be comprehended as a system that one supporting each other. Neglecting the detail job of the spouse will be easily bring the one or the two to harm. Therefore, trying this work to implement the theory is one of the way to build a new narration about what should man and women do in household.     The Implementation of Religious Moderation Based-Learning Model

    This article is aimed to describe the implementation of religious moderation-based learning model in an attempt to build and cultivate students character. In constructing the learning proses, teachers were lacking of softskill which implicated to students’ character that tend to be radical, extreme, and exclusive in facing the social reality. This study employed a library research method within a qualitative approach. Data were collected by reading numerous relevant literature associated with the implementation of religious moderation-based learning model. The result of study indicated that the implementation of religious moderation-based learning models can be performed in a number of ways, such as the following: 1) building and nurturing the universality of religious moderation, 2) building and internalizing the different values as sunnatullah (natural law), 3) constructing the spirituality and rationality in line with social reality, 4) building and empowering the attitudes of rahmatan lil ‘alamin in social reality, and 5) conducting preventive, corrective, and curative actions toward radicalism, extremism, and exclusivism. The result of this study can be recommended to the headmasters and teachers so that they can implement this learning model responsibly, fully discipline, and accountably. Also, they can cooperate with other stakeholders for the good implementation of this religious moderation-based learning model.  Abstrak: Artikel ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan implementasi model pembelajaran berbasis moderasi beragama dalam upaya membangun dan membina kharakter siswa. Guru dalam mengkonstruksikan proses pembelajaran sangat lemah soft skill yang berimbas siswa cenderung radikal, ekstrem, dan eksklusif pada saat berhadapan dengan realitas sosial. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode library research dengan pendekatan kualitatif dan pengumpulan data dengan cara membaca berbagai literatur untuk mendeskripsikan model pembelajaran berbasis moderasi beragama. Hasil kajian model pembelajaran berbasis moderasi beragama dapat diimpletasiskan dengan cara-cara sebagai berikut: 1) membangun, dan mengembangkan ide universalisme moderasi beragama, 2) membangun, dan menginternalisasikan nilai perbedaan sebagai sunnatullah,  3) mengkonstruksikan spiritualitas, dan rasionalitas dengan realitas sosial, 4) membangun, dan membina sikap rahmatan lil ‘alamin dalam realitas sosial, dan 5) melakukan tindakan preventif, korektif, dan kuratif terhadap sikap radikal, ekstrim, dan eksklusif.  Hasil kajian ini dapat direkomendasikan kepada kepala madrasah, dan guru supaya dapat mengimplementasikan model pembelajaran berbasis moderasi dengan penuh rasa tanggung jawab, disipin, dan amanah, serta  dapat bekerja sama dengan stakeholder lain demi terlaksana model pembelajaran berbasis moderasi beragama. &nbsp

    Teacher Creativity in Class Management for Children with Special Needs (ABK) at Inclusive Schools in Sabang City

    The effort to develop the creativity of classroom teachers in schools with special needs is an effort to develop children's potential, in order to have religious spiritual strength, to create interactive and educational classroom management that is comfortable and conducive. However, the creativity of classroom teachers has not been realized and the teacher's own lack of creativity in managing education classes for children with special needs in inclusive schools in Sabang City. Based on the results of research through observation, documentation and interviews with the head of SDN 1 and SDN 4 Sabang as the main subject and four teachers (each school two teachers), it is known that SDN 1 and SDN 4 strongly support every teacher who teaches in class who have children with special needs separately always develop their creativity in planning classes for special needs students. Class planning is very necessary in inclusive schools, because inclusive schools are not separated between normal children and children with special needs. In every planning involved an element of determination which means that in planning implied decision making. Teacher creativity in class planning for children with special needs in inclusive schools in Sabang is: First: Creativity in giving direction. Second: Creativity in helping students to motivate themselves. Third: Creativity in prioritizing the goals or objectives set. Fourth: Creativity in making guidelines for the preparation of strategic plans and operational plans and the selection of alternative decisions. Fifth: Creativity in evaluating progress to be achieved.     Application of The Concept of Hifz Al-Din in Shariah Compliant Business Management

    A business that adheres to Islamic law is a business that operates with honesty and not doing any form of prohibited things in Islam. Maqasid Shariah is the basic standard for mankind in doing something towards creating a Shariah-compliant way of life, including in business. Religion is the main aspect that must be emphasized in performing business. Islam is a religion that must be preserved, maintained and expanded by all Muslims. Islam strongly encourages Muslims to get involved in all sort of business, to earn a living and improved livelihoods to mankind, as long as it meets the Quran and al-Sunnah’s standards. Hifz al-Dīn concept is still not taken seriously in a business management. The issues related to religion, such as riba, employees not performing obligatory prayers and unethical attire are still not stress seriously in business operations. Thus, hifz al-Dīn is an important concept in making sure the business carried out complies with the requirements of Islamic legislation. The purpose of this article is to give exposure in implementing hifz al-Dīn concept. This article studies use qualitative methods by using content analysis of materials related to Islamic Maqasid and businesses. As a result, performing obligatory prayers, trades of halal products, shariah compliant dress code and Islamic financial management need to be taken seriously in every business operations in order to make sure it is in line with the requirements of Islamic law based on hifz al-Dīn concept. Abstrak Perniagaan yang mematuhi syariat Islam adalah perniagaan yang dijalankan dengan jujur dan yang tidak melakukan perkara-perkara yang dilarang dalam Islam. Maqasid Shariah adalah piawaian asas bagi manusia dalam melakukan sesuatu dalam mewujudkan cara hidup patuh Syariah, termasuk dalam perniagaan. Agama merupakan aspek utama yang mesti dititikberatkan dalam menjalankan perniagaan. Agama Islam mesti dipelihara dan dikembangkan oleh semua umat Islam. Islam amat menggalakkan umatnya untuk terlibat dalam perniagaan untuk mencari nafkah dan menambah rezeki dengan mesti berlandaskan Al-Quran dan al-Sunnah. Konsep Hifz al-Dīn masih tidak dititikberatkan dalam pengurusan perniagaan. Isu yang berkaitan dengan agama Islam seperti riba, pekerja yang tidak menunaikan ibadah dan pakaian yang tidak beretika masih tidak diberi perhatian yang serius dalam menjalankan perniagaan. Oleh itu, hifz al-Dīn adalah konsep penting dalam memastikan perniagaan yang dijalankan mematuhi kehendak dan ketetapan syariat Islam. Tujuan artikel ini adalah untuk memberi pendedahan dalam melaksanakan konsep hifz al-Dīn. Kajian artikel ini menggunakan kaedah kualitatif dengan menggunakan analisis kandungan bahan yang berkaitan dengan Maqasid Islam dan perniagaan. Rumusannya, kewajipan menunaikan ibadah, pemilihan dan penjualan produk halal, etika berpakaian patuh syariah dan pengurusan kewangan Islam perlu diberi perhatian serius dalam setiap operasi perniagaan dijalankan bagi memastikan perlaksanaannya bertetapan dengan kehendak syariat Islam yang memenuhi konsep hifz al-Dīn.     Listening Comprehension Orientations and Strategies in Learning English Language: A Review Paper

    This paper reviews the listening comprehension orientations and strategies in learning English language among L2 learners.  Listening skill is one of the most critical key in learning English language. Listening comprehension is a process of understanding the language input in which helps the EFL learners to receive and interact with language input and enables the emergence of other language skills. Heavy research was carried out concerning listening comprehension problems and strategies. Thus, this paper reviews approximately 50 papers with a time span from 2010 to 2019. By searching on Google Scholar and Research Gate for the terms: listening comprehension, listening comprehension orientations, listening comprehension difficulties, and listening comprehension strategies. In general, most studies found that whenever EFL learners face a difficulty in listening, they try to find out the most effective listening strategies to solve their listening difficulties. By doing this, they could improve their listening comprehension. Further research is recommended in order to review papers that dealt with the strategies of other skills i.e. reading strategies and speaking strategies since they are under researched.     Legislative functionalization in Fiqh Siyasah Perspective

    The purpose of this study is to discuss about the function of legislation in Fiqh Siyasah point of view. According to Fiqh Siyasah,the legislative power is called al-sulthah al-tasyri’iyyah, which is tasked with forming a law that will be enforced in society for the benefit. The people who sit in the legislative institution should be selected people such as Mujtahid, Mufti,and the professional people in various fields. Further, there are some functions of legislative institution. Firstly, the provisions that are already contained in Al-quran and As-sunnah,the law issued by al-sulthah al-tasyri’iyyah is a ilahi law which is shariaed in Al-quran and As-sunnah. Secondly, making some creative reasonings or Ijtihad on the problems explicitly that are not elaborated in Al-quran and As-sunnah. Therefore, the sulthah al-tasyri’iyyah role is to carry out ijtihad to assign the law based on the knowledge of Mujtahid and Mufti. Abstrak Penelitian ini membahas tentang fungsi legislasi dalam pandangan fiqih siyasah. Adapun dalam Fikih Siyasah, kekuasaan legislatif disebut dengan al-sulthah al-tasyri’iyyah, yang bertugas untuk membentuk suatu hukum yang akan diberlakukan didalam masyarakat demi kemaslahatan. Orang-orang yang duduk dilembaga legislatif harus dari orang-orang pilihan seperti para mujtahid dan ahli fatwa (mufti) serta para pakar-pakar dalam berbagai bidang. Sedangkan fungsi dari lembaga legislatif adalah Pertama, ketentuan yang sudah terdapat dalam Al-Quran dan Sunnah, undang-undang yang dikeluarkan al-sulthah al-tasyri’iyyah adalah undang-undang yang bersifat ilahiah yang di syariatkan dalam Al-Quran dan Sunnah. Kedua, melakukan penalaran kreatif atau ijtihad terhadap permasalahan secara tegas yang tidak dijelaskan oleh Al-Quran dan Sunnah. Maka disinilah peran al-sulthah al-tasyri’iyyah yang di isi oleh para mujtahid atau ahli fatwa untuk melakukan ijtihad menetapkan hukumnya dengan ilmu yang mereka miliki. &nbsp

    Interrelation of Islamic Formal and Islamic Principles in The Context of The Country’s Constitution (The Application of Islamic Law for Corruptors in Indonesia)

    Corruption has made the life of the state have porous joints. Economy as the mainstay of the joint life experience fragility, currency values decline significantly. Social joints also suffer the same fate, now corruption has become commonplace in everyday life portrait began to level the structure of RT (Neighborhood) up to the level of institution of the President. In fact, even this body of organisms may have been "plagued" the virus of corruption that is far more devastating impact than physical disease viruses. Many people suspect that corruption in Indonesia is still running and even increased in almost every element of the institution due to the form of sanctions contained in the positive law. Where sanctions are used as a "cure" the disease is not effective or have no impact on the offender and not relevant to apply again. From the above problem, the author wishes to conduct research regarding the form of criminal sanctions for corruption in Indonesia using qualitative approaches that are library research (literature study), and data collection techniques using documentary study of the books, scientific works, newspapers, magazines, and scholarly journals. After doing research, followed by analyzing each of the data obtained, the researchers found a conclusion that could answer the focal issues under review, islamic law view that corruption is a criminal sanction ta'zir, where the imposition of sanctions tailored to the level of crimes committed, sikologis actors and their environment, with the shape and type of sanctions that may deter perpetrators and educate the offender and other people not to commit criminal them. And including sanctions model in Islamic law is a prison and a fine. The rules contained in Islam and the state (positive law) have the same goal, namely to create peace between humans. For this reason, positive criminal law must not conflict with Islamic law. Although the regulations stipulated in Indonesia are not taken from the texts of the al-Qur`an or al-Hadith. But still in line with the basic principles set out in Islamic law.  Abstrak Korupsi telah membuat sendi kehidupan bernegara mengalami kekeroposan. Sendi perekonomian sebagai penopang utama kehidupan mengalami kerapuhan, nilai mata uang secara signifikan mengalami kemerosotan. Sendi sosial juga bernasib sama, saat ini korupsi telah menjadi hal lumrah dalam potret kehidupan keseharian mulai tingkat struktur RT (Rukun Tetangga) hingga ke tingkat Lembaga Kepresidenan. Bahkan organisme tubuh inipun mungkin telah “dijangkiti” virus korupsi yang jauh lebih dahsyat dampaknya dari virus-virus penyakit jasmani. Banyak kalangan menduga, korupsi di Indonesia tetap berjalan dan bahkan meningkat hampir di setiap elemen lembaga dikarenakan bentuk sanksi yang terdapat dalam hukum positif. Dimana sanksi yang dijadikan "obat" terhadap penyakit tersebut tidak efektif atau tidak berdampak apapun terhadap pelaku dan tidak relevan untuk diterapkan lagi. Dari masalah diatas, penulis berkeinginan untuk melakukan penelitian tentang bentuk sanksi pidana korupsi di Indonesia dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif yang bersifat library research (penelitian kepustakaan), dan tehnik pengumpulan datanya menggunakan telaah dokumenter terhadap kitab-kitab, karya ilmiah, surat kabar, majalah, dan jurnal keilmuan. Setelah melakukan penelitian yang dilanjutkan dengan menganalisa setiap data yang diperoleh, peneliti menemukan kesimpulan, Hukum islam memandang bahwa Sanksi tindak kriminal korupsi adalah ta'zir, dimana pemberian sanksi disesuaikan terhadap tingkat kriminal yang dilakukan, sikologis pelaku dan lingkungannya, dengan bentuk dan jenis sanksi yang dapat menjerakan pelaku dan mendidik pelaku serta masyarakat lain untuk tidak melakukan kriminal tersebut. Dan termasuk model sanksi dalam hukum islam adalah penjara dan denda. Aturan-aturan yang terdapat dalam islam dan negara (hukum positif) adalah memiliki tujuan yang sama, yaitu untuk menciptakan kedamaian antar umat manusia. Untuk itulah hukum pidana positif harus tidak bertentangan dengan hukum islam. Walau peraturan-peraturan yang ditetapkan di indonesia tidak diambil dari nash-nash al-Qur`an maupun al-Hadits. Tetapi tetap selaras dengan prinsip dasar yang ditetapkan dalam hukum islam
