22nd International Symposium for Production Research, ISPR 2022 -- 6 October 2022 through 8 October 2022 -- Antalya -- 291539The Green Lean method seeks to avoid environmental waste, preserve ecological balance and sustainability, and accomplish these goals in a productive and cost-efficient manner. An eco-friendly approach to economic sustainability fosters synergy and offers the environment and society more tangible advantages. Supplier selection is a challenge that has been approached from several angles. As a result of the numerous competing criteria, it is recognized that multicriteria decision making methods (MCDM) are mostly used to address it. This research addresses the issue of an organization using a lean management strategy with supplier selection. To identify the lean factors included in the literature on supplier selection, a thorough literature study was undertaken. The fuzzy “SWARA (Stepwise Weight Assessment Ratio Analysis)” Method, which is often employed in the research domains and offers effective answers, was utilized in the first section of this research to analyze and weight the criteria that were collected from the existing literature. The method's use led to the determination of each assessment criterion's weight, which was then employed as a factor in choosing the suppliers. To determine the final ranking and choose the best supplier for the success of the business, the fuzzy “COPRAS (COmplex Proportional ASsesment)” method was used in the second part of the research. Following that, the managers are given the results in order to help them make better choices. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG

    No full text
In this article, we consider the one-dimensional Schrodinger operator L(Q)L(Q)L(Q) with a Hermitian periodic mxmm×mm\times m matrix potential Q. We investigate the bands and gaps of the spectrum and prove that most of the positive real axis is overlapped by m bands. Moreover, we find a condition on the potential Q for which the number of gaps in the spectrum of L(Q)L(Q)L(Q) is finite

Recent advancements in triboelectric nanogenerators (TENGs) have primarily focused on improving power conversion and generation efficiency. However, challenges still exist in developing TENGs that are affordable and biocompatible. Chitosan, an abundant natural biopolymer derived from marine crustacean shells, and natural clays offer exciting possibilities for developing cost-effective and biodegradable TENG applications. In this study, we present the development of biocompatible and eco-friendly TENGs by incorporating clay-based compounds as natural fillers into chitosan. To construct chitosan/clay-based biocomposite TENGs, we have introduced sepio-lite, bentonite, and kaolin, as natural additives, into the chitosan biopolymer matrix. Decorating chitosan with natural clays improves the triboelectric properties of the TENGs, which in turn enhances the output voltage and significantly boosts the electric power density. Chitosan-based TENGs with 3 wt% sepiolite, 1 wt% bentonite, and 1 wt% kaolin demonstrate open circuit voltages of 863, 996, and 963 V, respectively. Moreover, when compared to pure chitosan-based TENG, the chitosan-based TENGs with 3 wt% sepiolite, 1 wt% bentonite, and 1 wt% kaolin show a maximum output peak power increase of 19, 54.4, and 32.6%, respectively. At 1.1 M omega load resistance, the maximum peak electric power densities of 20.4, 26.5, and 22.8 W/m2 are reached for chitosan-based TENGs with 3 wt% sepiolite, 1 wt% bentonite, and 1 wt% kaolin, respectively. Furthermore, we analyzed the surface potential, morphology, roughness, and dielectric constant of chitosan/clay composites to understand the relationship between them and electrical performance. The results demonstrate that the output performances of the chitosan/clay-based TENGs are quite high. TENGs made of biocompatible materials may not only pave the way for the production of environmentally friendly, cost-effective, and efficient TENGs for self-powered nano -systems and biomedical devices but may also shed light on new technologies utilizing natural materials

Generation of the form cutter profile from the groove profile for one-pass external helical milling: An inverse problem

    No full text
One-pass is a term used to shape parts without the need for consecutive cuts in machining. Therefore, it is a method to enable cost-effective machining. However, generating the tool geometry and path for a given volume by one-pass milling may rarely be possible. Although the generation of the machined part surface in machining has been widely discussed in the literature, the investigation of such inverse problems is very few. In this paper, helical external grooves were considered. It was demonstrated that it is possible to perform one-pass milling for helical grooves in most cases using a dedicated form cutter. The profile of the form cutter based on the groove profile was derived by an iterative approach using Python programming language. It was considered that the form cutter is the composition of the circles, and the trace of each circle must be in contact with the groove profile in a reference plane. The diameter of each circle was derived using this contact condition. Then, the circles were combined to create the form cutter. Several groove profiles were investigated, and the profiles of the form cutters were obtained. Experimental verification was presented for one of the examples

    No full text
It is crucial to evaluate the usage practices of social networks in sustaining the urban brand. In this study, we discussed how museums as social memory spaces are subject to social media posts. The study is noteworthy because it gives an opinion about social media posts of museum visitors and determines the approach to museums in the formation of an urban brand. Accordingly, we examined the Instagram posts of social media users related to museums in Ankara via content analysis. We found that the posts shared were mainly photos. Museums were the greatest data source for the corporate Instagram accounts according to sharing frequency and they were all foundation and private museums. Examining the purposes of sharing, we determined a multidirectional social media use in the dimensions of communication via announcement, publicity and informing. Analysing the use of hashtags related to museums in the process of creating a brand city revealed that museums highlighted themselves, their activities and the city where they are located. The experience of visiting the museum creates the opinion that there is an impression of the brand value of the city where the museum is located. As a result of the study, we found that it is necessary to organize a campaign based on a specific motto to be shared by corporate accounts of museums, personal accounts of visitors, and Instagram content creators to strengthen the positioning of Ankara museums related to the city

    No full text
Global warming due to increased outdoor carbon dioxide (CO2) levels may cause several health problems such as headaches, cognitive impairment, or kidney dysfunction. It is predicted that further increases in CO2 levels will increase the morbidity and mortality of patients affected by a variety of diseases. For instance, patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) may suffer cognitive impairments or intracranial bleeding due to an increased cerebral blood flow rate. Predicting the harmful effects of global warming on human health will help to take measures for potential problems. Therefore, the quantification of physiological parameters is an essential step to investigate the effects of global warming on human health. In this study, the effects of increased outdoor temperatures due to climate change on cerebral blood flow rate and respiratory function in healthy subjects and COPD patients with anemia and respiratory acidosis are evaluated utilizing numerical simulations. The numerical model simulates cardiac function and blood circulation in systemic, pulmonary and cerebral circulations, cerebral autoregulatory functions, respiratory function, alveolar gas exchange, oxygen (O2) and CO2 contents, and hemoglobin levels in the blood. The simulation results show that although the cardiovascular function is not significantly altered, the respiratory function and cerebral blood flow rates are altered remarkably. Predicting the harmful effects of global warming on human health will help to take measures for potential problems. Therefore, the quantification of physiological parameters is an essential step to investigate the effects of global warming on human health. Effects of the increased outdoor temperatures on the cerebral circulation in healthy subjects and COPD patients with anemia are simulated using a computational model.imag
