    Waste from abattoir activities has high organic matter content. One wastewater alternative that suitable for abattoirs is used to utilize a combination of the anaerobic biofilter and aerobic biofilter. Which including a coarse screen, sedimentation, anaerobic biofilter, and aerobic biofilter. It made the treatment system can reduce levels of BOD snd COD waste batters. This study aims to determine the difference between the residence time variations of aerobic biofilter in reducing the BOD and COD levels of wastewater from abattoirs. The research is experimental. Using one group pretest-posttest design. Data analysis used the analysis of variance = 0,05.The analysis result of BOD and COD content wast decreased after treatment at each residence time, with 6 hours of residence time in an aerobics biofilter was reduced 70 percent BOD levels and 66,2 percent COD. 24 hours residence time had the ability to reduced 80 percent BOD content and 7 percent of COD content.Based on a one way analysis of variance results that there is a significant difference from all residence time because of Pvelue (0,0

    The oil and fat content in domestic wastewater is an element that can cause pollution of water bodies and inhibits the continued process in the Waste Water Treatment Plant. For this reason, efforts should be made to eliminate the womb in wastewater by filtration. In this study the filtration process uses a laboratory scale that is making a waste water solution from a mixture of water with various types of cooking spices that are fried using cooking oil and butter. The purpose of the study was to analyze the effectiveness of coconut fiber as a filter for waste oil (fat) in domestic wastewater. The research starts from the process of making coconut fiber and filtration tanks until it continues to the filtration treatment process. The results showed there were significant differences in oil (fat) levels in domestic wastewater between before and after filtration using coconut coir fiber media with a thickness of 20 cm, 40 cm and 60 cm, which obtained the value of p (p-value) ≤ value α (0 , 05), i.e. 0.019, 0.02 and 0.006. There is no significant difference in effectiveness between variations in thickness of coconut coir fibers as a filtration media against decreasing levels of oil (fat) in domestic wastewater, where a p-value of 0.073> α (0.05) is obtained. The effectiveness of each reduction is 89.24 (thickness 20 cm), 0.02 (thickness 40 cm) and 0.006 (thickness 60 cm). Coconut fiber is effective as a filtration media for treating domestic wastewater that contains oil (fat). It is recommended to conduct further research by increasing the residence time of wastewater in the filtration bath

    Brackish water caused of high chloride sodium content, giving to feel briny at water. The only chemical process can remove chloride is the ion exchange. The aim of this study was to determine the difference of percentage decreasing of chloride levels in variations of chloride level in brackish water (870 mg/l, 1712 mg/l, 2501 mg/l) and variation of sampling time (1,5 hours, 3 hours, 4,5 hours). Brackish water used the result of dilution of brines using freshwater. This process brackish water by passing into a resin media tube’s diameter 5cm and 40cm high with flow discharge 100ml/min. The results of chloride levels after the process still exceeded the quality standard Permenkes RI No.492/MENKES/PER/IV/2010. The avarage chloride levels after from the chloride 870 mg/l is 776,7 mg/l, the chloride 1712 mg/l is 1520 mg/l and the chloride 2501 mg/l is 2139 mg/l. From Two-Way-Anova test showed a significant difference between the percentage of decreasing chloride levels in various sampling time, the variation of initial chloride level, and interaction between variation in initial chloride content and sampling time

    Low back pain is one of the musculoskeletal disorders resulting from the wrong ergonomics. Such conditions can occur in the informal work sector, such as clothes tailors at the Martapura Bauntung Batuah Market. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of work position with complaints of lower back pain in clothes tailors at the Bauntung Batuah Market Martapura. This study is an analytical study with a cross-sectional approach. The sampling technique uses total sampling with criteria for male sex so that the number of samples is 43 people. Data will be analyzed using the x2 test (Chi-square). The results of the statistical analysis obtained the value of the work position p-value of 0,000 meaning that there is a relationship between the work position and complaints of lower back pain in the clothes tailor at the Martapura Bauntung Batuah Market. For other researchers, further research needs to being done on other factors such as individual factors and physical environmental factors that can cause complaints of lower back pain

    Abstract: Influence Of Contact Time Of Lime Juice (Citrus aurantifolia Swingle) On Improving The Quality Of Plate Hygiene. Equipment potential as food contamination is not clean enough and not appropriate washing process, because skip disinfection stage. One of disinfection process is by giving lime juice (Citrus aurantifolia Swingle)10%. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of contact time of lime juice (Citrus aurantifolia Swingle) on improving the quality of plate hygiene. This study used experimental methode, data analysis was using Paired Sample T-Test and One Way Anova. The data was obtained by trial soaking plate in lime juice (Citrus aurantifolia Swingle) 10% at contact time 1, 1,5 and 2 minutes. The result laboratory that the number of germs post-treatment was smaller than pre-treatment. E. coli on pre-treatment and post-treatment was negative. The contact time at 2 minutes could reduce the number of germs of 89,48%. The Effective time on reduce the number of germs is 2 minutes and have qualify. It is suggested to the public to do the disinfection process by lime juice at least 2 minutes. To facilitate the use in the community researcher further can make concentration controller of lime juice 10%

    Abstract: Hygiene and Sanitation of Ships Domestically and Abroad. Sea transportation is still an alternative choice in addition to land and air transport because it has several advantages such as greater haulage and lower cost. Along with technological developments, the ship becomes a transport for travel within and outside the country. Probolinggo Sea Port is one of the domestic and international crossing services for passengers and loading and unloading of goods. Supervision of domestic and overseas ship arrivals is aimed at preventing all risk factors of PHEIC (Public Health Emergency of International Concern), especially ships coming from infected areas. This study aims to describe the hygiene of sanitary ships in the country and abroad at the Port of Probolinggo using an observational method with descriptive approach. Sampling in this study using accidental sampling method with the ratio of overseas and domestic ships is 1: 5. The result showed that there were 46,67% aspect which have not fulfill sanitation hygiene requirement on domestic ship that is 80% medical facility, 60% waste, 20% kitchen, 10% food raft room, 10% machine room, 10% food and 10% garbage. While sanitation hygiene on overseas ships inspected 100% has met the requirements on all aspects. In conclusion, domestic and overseas ships are at low risk of transmitting diseases and have differences in meeting the requirements on all aspects examined especially aspects of medical facilities

    Abstract: The Effectiveness of Rice Husk Ash Filter to Reduce Turbidity of Martapura River Water. Martapura River water is used by people living on riverbanks for cooking, washing, bathing, and others. The main problem of Martapura river water is the turbidity which is relatively high so it needs to be processed first before use. The preliminary test conducted on August 15, 2016 shows the value of turbidity of Martapura river water at 38.9 NTU. This research was an experimental research with the one group pretest and posttest design which aimed to determine the effectiveness of the filter to reduce the turbidity of Martapura river water. The medium used was rice husk ash with variation of thickness were 13 cm, 26 cm, and 39 cm. The effectiveness of filtration was determined by comparing the turbidity of water filtered with standards. The turbidity of Martapura river water before filtered was 35.7 NTU. After filtered by 13 cm, 26 cm and 39 cm filter, the turbidity of water decreased consecutive to 2.97 NTU, 1.17 NTU, and 0.95 NTU, with decreasing percentages respectively of 91.7%, 96.7% and 97.3%. All filtered water showed turbidity fulfilled both the standar of clean water and drinking water so that rice husk ash filter was effective decreased turbidity of Martapura river water. Filtered water is recommended to be cooked first to boil when used for drinking water because the number of bacteria of Coli has not been studied. Further research needs to be conducted by adding other parameters according to water quality standar

    Abstract: The Parental Smoking Behavior With The Occurrence Of Pneumonia Disease. Pneumonia is an acute infection process that affects the lung tissue (alveoli), with symptoms of rapid breathing and shortness of breath due to sudden lung inflammation. Pneumonia is caused by bacteria, Streptococcus pneumonia (peumokokus).The purpose of this study to determine the correlation between smoking behavior with the occurrence of pneumonia disease over toddlers in the region Public Health Center of Sungai Ulin Banjarbaru in 2018. The type of this research was analytical research with retrospective approach with 1: 2 sample ratio. The case population was all families who have toddler with pneumonia diseases with case sampling 31 toddler and control population were all families with toddler not pneumonia with sampling 62 Toddler. The results showed the parental smoking behavior of 63 (65.6%) respondents and pneumonia disease of 31 (32.2%) cases. There was correlation of parental smoking behavior with the occurrence of pneumonia disease in infants with p value = 0.01

    Lime dust is one of the hazardous dust that is dangerous if left exposed. In the airways can cause airway inflammation. This inflammation can lead to obstruction of the airway so that it can reduce lung vital capacity. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of exposure to respiratory dust on lung vital capacity in workers in the limestone industry in Kelurahan Sungai Ulin ,Kota Banjarbaru. Analytical research design with cross sectional approach. The sample in this study were all workers in the limestone industry. Data analysis used simple linear regression tests. The results of the research statistical tests showed no effect of exposure to respirate dust on the vital capacity of lung workers due to the level of dust that is still below the NAB and the normal lung condition of workers. However, it can be seen the tendency of the problem if high dust levels can reduce lung vital capacity.
