EFFECT OF ZINK TABLETS INTERVENTION IN ZINC DEFICIENCY OF TRIMESTER III PREGNANT WOMEN TOWARD WEIGHT AND BODY LENGTH OF NEWBORN
Background: According to 2018 World Health Organization (WHO) data globally, an estimated 17.3% of the population has inadequate zinc intake, with estimates ranging from 5.7% in Oceania to 7.6% in Europe, 9.6% in America and the Caribbean, highest in Africa (23.9%) and Asia (19.6%). Zinc is important for the function of a number of enzymes and growth hormones during pregnancy. In pregnant women, the relative zinc concentration decreases up to 35% due to the influence of hormonal changes and the transport of nutrients from mother to baby.
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to identify the effect of giving zinc tablets to pregnant women with zinc deficiency in the third trimester on body weight and length of babies born at the Makassar City Health Center.
Methods: This type of research is True Experimental with a pretest-posttest design with a control group. The sample in this study was 62 samples of third trimester pregnant women, and the sampling technique used was purposive sampling. Measurement of zinc levels in third trimester pregnant women using the Elisa reader kit at the Research Laboratory of the Hasanuddin University Teaching Hospital. The research instruments were in the form of a research explanation sheet, respondent's consent sheet, respondent's checklist sheet, and the mother's zinc tablet consumption control sheet for 14 days.
Results: Judging from the average value of newborns in pregnant women who did not have zinc deficiency, the average value of birth weight in pregnant women with zinc deficiency was 15.70 g/dL and 18.95 g/dL. zinc deficiency with a value (p < 0.05), while pregnant women with zinc deficiency have an average birth length of 10.00 g/dL and mothers who do not have a deficiency of 19.87 g/dL with a value (p < 0.05). So, it can be concluded that giving zinc tablets to pregnant women in the third trimester has an effect on Birth Weight (BBL) and Birth Length (PBL).
Conclusion: Giving zinc tablets has an effect on increasing zinc levels in third trimester zinc deficiency pregnant women and increasing birth weight and length of the baby.
 
THE EFFECT OF REIKI THERAPY ON POSTTRAUMATIC GROWTH (PTG) AMONG CHRONIC RENAL FAILURE PATIENTS THROUGH HEMODIALYSIS
Background: Disease Chronic kidney failure can result in positive and negative implications as Posttraumatic Growth (PTG) and problems mental - psychological include self-concept, and the quality of life of patients.
Objectives: The research objective was to analyze the effect of spiritual based reiki therapy (prayer) on posttraumatic growth.
Methods: The study design was Quasy-Experimental with pre-post test control group design and research conducted by a research assistant. The population was all chronic renal failure patients undergoing hemodialysis. Sample size 40, divided into 20 interventions and 20 controls. The sampling technique is purposive sampling. In the intervention group-based therapy reiki spiritual (prayer) for 45 - 75 minutes of 8-12 meetings (se whenever there are 3 sessions) performed 2 weeks. The control group was given action according to hospital standards. Test analysis Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test and analysis uji depending Mann Whitney.
Results: Results of analysis of test Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test P no intervention group therapy reiki spiritually based (Prayer) no effect on posttraumatic growth p = 0.000. If the control group was given therapy according to hospital SOP, there was an effect on posttraumatic growth p = 0.025. And the results of the analysis using Mann Whitney found that Results Posttraumatic Growth in the intervention group of the therapy reiki spiritually based (Prayer) - In the group controls are enforcedi according to SOP hospital treatment, the results are no different, p = 0.000.
Conclusion: Reiki therapy based spiritual (prayer) is very effective to decrease the Posttraumatic Growth, can improve quality of life and positive attitude in which respondents were willing to change his priorities and biases appreciate herself
MEASURING USABILITY TESTING BY THE ONLINE APPLICATION START EBNP QUESTIONNAIRE
Background: Evidence-Based Nurse Practice (EBNP) is used to enhance the quality of nursing by considering internal evidence, external evidence, and patient assessment. In reality, applying EBNP has many problems such as knowledge level, lack of time, facilities, and management support such as training and seminar. The development of technology gives chances for the massive promotion of EBNP.
Objective: This application is newly made and its pilot study aims at finding the answer to the usability and accessibility of online application START EBP.
Design: This study used a cross-sectional study method. The target population in this study was 112 clinical nurses. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The sample size in the pilot study was 12 respondents. This research is a kind of research and development study. The new application is Online START EBP that uses seven levels of applying EBP. The data analysis carried out was usability test.
Results: The results of 12 respondents selected from 112 populations by purposive sampling shows that the users are easier to learn and memorize the interface of the application START EBP in total averaged scored 3.24 point. The reliability results show an alpha value of 0.920, so the reliability is in the perfect category.
Conclusion: The START EBP online application is easy to use because it is easy to understand by users
HOW TO CONTROL INTERDIALYTIC WEIGHT GAIN (IDWG) AMONG HEMODIALYSIS PATIENTS?
Background: Chronic kidney failure is a terminal disease that often affects the patient's quality of life. One of the problems that often occurs in patients with end-stage renal failure is the increase in fluid volume between two dialysis times. The increase in Interdialytic Weight Gain (IDWG) has a serious impact, 60-80% of patients die from excess fluid and food intake during the interdialytic period.
Objective: This review aimed to describe the importance of Interdialytic Weight Gain (IDWG) in end-stage renal failure patients undergoing hemodialysis.
Design: This study design is a systematic review to search and review article from database and the theory underlying this study or guidance in this systematic literature review using PRISMA.
Data Sources: This systematic review was conducted using a database with electronic searches on EBSCO, ProQuest, Scopus, SAGE, and Science Direct published in 2017-2021.
Review Methods: The method used in the preparation of the Literature review using the PRISMA checklist and PICOT. Secondary data obtained from the journal with a predetermined discussion.
Results: The results of the database search strategy were 1,907 articles were obtained, but 1,340 articles were excluded. There were seven articles that met the inclusion criteria. Two articles identified that uncontrolled IDWG is at risk of death in chronic renal failure patients undergoing hemodialysis.
Conclusion: Two articles state that IDWG affects hemoglobin concentration and cardiovascular disorders and triggers complications, two other articles state that the factors that contribute to IDWG are fluid intake, thirst, self-efficacy and dietary behavior, one article states that controlled IDWG will improve the quality of life of patients with end-stage renal failure/End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD undergoing hemodialysis. Uncontrolled IDWG is at risk of death in patients undergoing hemodialysis. Control of IDWG through adherence to dietary behavior will improve the quality of life of end-stage renal failure patients undergoing hemodialysis
RELATIONSHIP OF AGE AND NUTRITION STATUS WITH WORK FATIGUE IN INPATIENT NURSES AT DR M YUNUS HOSPITAL, BENGKULU
Background: Nurse is a profession that cannot be separated from the problem of work fatigue. Fatigue due to work will have a negative impact on work such as decreased accuracy, skill, and even work productivity. If this happens to nurses, it can put the patient at risk, decreasing the quality of service. Work fatigue is caused by several factors, such as worker characteristics, namely age, sex, education, nutritional status, and work environment factors (Tarwaka, 2013). Nurses have a fairly heavy duty in assisting emergency services and nursing services continuously for 24 hours so that nurses sometimes eat irregularly which can cause nutritional conditions to be disturbed (Astuti, Ekawati, & Wahyuni, 2017).
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between age, nutritional status and subjective work fatigue in inpatient nurses at dr. M Yunus Bengkulu.
Methods: The research design was an analytic survey with a cross sectional approach. The population of this study were 128 nurses in the inpatient room with total sampling technique. The data collection instrument is a work fatigue feeling questionnaire consisting of 17 questions adopted from (Setyawati, 2010) which has tested the validity and reliability in her book entitled at a glance about work fatigue, a nutritional status questionnaire by taking physical measurements of body weight and height to determine BMI, and age questionnaire with units of years. Data analysis used chi square test with 95% degree of error if p-value ? 0.05 indicates a significant relationship and if > 0.05 is not significant.
Results: This study shows that there is no relationship between age and subjective work fatigue on nurses with a p-value = 0.107 > ? = 0.05. And there is a relationship between nutritional status and subjective work fatigue on nurses with a p-value = 0.000 > ? = 0.05.
Conclusion: Work fatigue that occurs in nurses is expected to be an important concern, nurses should maintain a healthy body by consuming balanced nutritious food and diligent exercise and adequate rest, so as to reduce the risk of fatigue due to work
THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN POSITIVE THINKING AND SELF ACCEPTANCE ON ELDERLY IN THE NURSING HOMES: A LITERATURE REVIEW
Background: Low elderly self-acceptance in nursing homes affects their quality of life. Elderly difficult to adapting so they feel stressed, lose of control of lives, lose identity. Positive thinking is a form of adaption that can be done by the elderly to have good self acceptance to live in nursong homes.
Objective: To know the relationship betwen positive thinking and self-acceptance elderly in nursing homes.
Design: A Whittemore and Khanfl’s integrative review was used in this review.
Data Sources: This systematic review searched 4 electronic database Scopus, Proquest, Pubmed, Science Direct that published in 2015-2020.
Review Methods: Key terms and phrases that utilized were positive thinking OR optimism, self acceptance, elderly OR aged, nursing homes OR orphanage. The JBI Guideline used to asses the quality of each study. Data tabulation and narrative analysis were performed.
Results: A total of 11 papers were included in this review. The included studies were divided into three-part, positive thinking in the elderly (n=4), self-acceptance (n=3) and both (n=4). The average number of samples used in each study was 35 people.
Conclusion: Positive thinking related to self-acceptance of the elderly in nursing homes. Elders who think positively have a positive mind about themselves, acknowledge and accept various aspects including the good and bad and look at life positively, so they get life satisfaction. The elderly more often feels happiness, enthusiasm to support life, actively appreciate the environment. Good quality of life will increase welfare
THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN SELF-MANAGEMENT AND QUALITY OF LIFE AMONG PATIENTS WITH TYPE 2 DIABETES MELLITUS
Background: Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a metabolic disease characterized by high blood glucose levels as a result of insufficient insulin secretion, impaired insulin activity or both. Patients with diabetes mellitus are at risk for complications that can affect their quality of life. These complications can be minimized through self-management.
Objectives: The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between self-management and quality of life in type 2 DM patients.
Design: This study was a quantitative research. The design in this study was a cross-sectional analytic with a sample of 75 people who were carried out at the endocrine polyclinic RS Pusat TNI Angkatan Laut (RSPAL) DR. Ramelan Surabaya. Research instrument used the Diabetes Self-Management Questionnaire (DSMQ) developed by Schmitt et al (2013) to determine the self-management of type 2 DM patients and to measure the quality of life using the Diabetes Quality of Life Brief (DQoL Brief) instrument developed by Burrough et al (2008). The sample siza with simple random sampling method, and data analysis using spearman rank test.
Results: The results showed that there was a significant relationship between self-management and quality of life in type 2 DM patients (p-value = .000, r = .394).
Conclusion: There is a significant positive relationship between the level of self-management and quality of life in type 2 DM patients. From the results of the Spearman test correlation coefficient, there is a positive sign. This means that the higher the patient's self-management, it will also improve the quality of their life. The implication of this study are nurses can increase patient knowledge by providing education that focuses on improving self-management and facilitating the provision of family support as well as supervision and monitoring related to self-management by type 2 DM patients
RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN STRESS LEVELS AND ONLINE GAME ADDICTION IN ADOLESCENTS
Background: Factors that trigger stress in adolescents are academic, interpersonal, and family stress. The teenager will feel happy just by playing various game online applications contained in smartphones, but the problems that were previously faced were not resolved.
Objectives: This study aimed to determine the relationship between stress levels and online game addiction in adolescents at Hidayatul Ummah High School Surabaya.
Methods: This study used an observational approach with a cross-sectional method. The population in this study were all students of classes X, XI, and XII, totaling 80 students. The sample size is 80 students with the Simple Random Sampling method. Data analysis using Spearman Rank test. The variables in this study are stress levels and online game addiction. The instrument used to measure stress level is a Perceived Stress Score (PSS) and Measurement of game addiction using the Indonesian Online Game Addiction Questionnaire.
Results: The results of data analysis using the Spearman Rank test with the results = 0.002 which means there is a significant relationship between stress levels and online game addiction in adolescents at Hidayatul Ummah High School Surabaya. The results in this study were the students of grades X, XI, and XII at Hidayatul Ummah High School Surabaya experienced a moderate level of stress with online game addiction in the category of severe addiction.
Conclusion: The level of stress with online game addiction carried out at Hidayatul Ummah High School Surabaya mostly experienced moderate stress levels and heavy category addiction to online games
FACTORS AFFECTING NURSE ANXIETY IN ROLE AS A CAREGIVER DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC
Background: During the Covid-19 outbreak, health workers, especially nurses, are vulnerable to potential psychological symptoms such as anxiety, which can prevent nurses from carrying out their role as caregivers in health services (Lai et al., 2020; Shanafelt et al., 2020).
Objectives: The purpose of this study is to analyze the factors that can influence the anxiety of nurses in playing the role of caregiver during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Methods: This is a cross-sectional study with a population of all nurses who met the inclusion criteria as much as 105 nurses. The research sample was selected through stratified random sampling and obtained 84 nurses. This research was conducted at RSI Jemursari Surabaya from June until September 2020. The research instruments used in this study were the demographic observation sheet, knowledge questionnaire, and the Hamilton Anxiety Rank Scale (HARS). Data analysis used Pearson chi-square test and multivariate logistic regression.
Results: The results of the Pearson Chi-square test showed that of all the factors studied, only age (p = 0.004), availability of personal protective equipment (p = 0.002), and knowledge (p = 0.017) influenced nurses' anxiety. The results of the analysis using multivariate logistic regression test showed that the factor that most influenced nurses' anxiety was the availability of personal protective equipment (p = 0.001; OR = -3.062).
Conclusion: Younger nurses, inadequate personal protective equipment, and less knowledgeable nurses were at high risk for more severe anxiety. Regular observation of the psychological condition of nurses and the fulfillment of the need for personal protective equipment is needed to prevent increased anxiety in nurses
COGNITIVE BEHAVIOURAL THERAPY TO REDUCE DEPRESSION IN POST STROKE PATIENTS: A SCOPING REVIEW
Background: Post-stroke depression is one of the psychological disorders that is often experienced by post-stroke patients. Depression is more than just sadness. People with post-stroke depression will experience a lack of interest and pleasure in daily activities, weight loss or excessive sleep, lack of energy, inability to concentrate, feelings of worthlessness or guilt and recurring thoughts of death or suicide. Based on several types of post-stroke depression management, psychosocial interventions have been shown to reduce the likelihood of developing post-stroke depression. One of the interventions to reduce post-stroke depression is cognitive behavioral therapy.
Objective: This scoping review aims to identify the effectiveness of cognitive behavioral therapy to reduce depression in post-stroke patients.
Design: This study used a scoping review through a review of articles on cognitive behavioral therapy that has been used to reduce depression in post-stroke patients.
Data Sources: Search for articles accessed through a database, including: CINAHL, MEDLINE, Academic search ultimate, PubMed, and google scholar with a range of search years 2011-2020.
Review Methods: Quality appraisal assessment for each selected study was conducted using the Preferred Reporting Items for scoping review (PRISMA) method.
Results: The results of this literature review show that cognitive behavioral therapy to reduce depression in post-stroke patients can change thoughts, feelings and behaviors to influence each other. The relationship between thoughts, feelings and behavior greatly influences respondents in dealing with post-stroke conditions with a positive way of thinking so that it will accelerate or help the post-stroke recovery process. The way to implement cognitive behavioral therapy is to be given as many as 12 sessions in 25-35 minutes each session. Cognitive behavioral therapy can be done in a hospital and has a significant post-stroke depression rate with p <0.01.
Conclusion: Cognitive behavioral therapy can be given as an intervention to reduce depression in post-stroke patients including cognitive behavioral therapy, duration of cognitive behavioral therapy and sessions in cognitive behavioral therapy
