    RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN FAMILY SUPPORT AND SELF-CARE AMONG NON-HEMORRHAGIC STROKE PATIENTS

    Background: Stroke has several impacts, namely physical limitations and disabilities in self-care, stroke also causes stress and depression. By because it requires family support as a support system, family support can independently train and motivate family members who have suffered a stroke to perform self-care without depending on others. Objectives: This study aimed to determine the relationship between family support and self-care in non-hemorrhagic stroke patients at the Polyclinic Neurological of Lagaligo I Hospital, East Luwu Regency. Methods: This research was conducted at the neurology polyclinic of hospital I Lagaligo, East Luwu Regency from July to August 2020. The design of this study used an analytical survey with a cross sectional approach. The number of samples was 39 respondents with proportional random sampling technique. Data analysis used the Spearman Rank correlation statistic test with a value of = .05. Results: The results of the study with the Spearman rank test showed that the p-value (.000) was significantly lower than .05 or (Ï˂α), so there was a relationship between family support and self-care in non-hemorrhagic stroke patients at the Neurological polyclinic Hospital I Lagaligo, East Luwu Regency. Conclusion: The conclusion of this study is that there is a relationship between family support and self-care in non-hemorrhagic stroke patients and suggestions for nurses in the Neurology Polyclinic Room are expected to provide information and be able to provide nursing education, especially about family support with self-care in patients who have had non-hemorrhagic strokes

    THE EFFECTIVENESS OF DIETS PROGRAM FOR PREECLAMPSIA ON BLOOD PRESSURE CONTROL AMONG PREGNANT WOMEN IN SOUTH TANGERANG

    Background: Preeclampsia is one of three causes of death for pregnant women, contributed to about 27% of maternal mortality in Indonesia. One of intervention that can be made for pregnant women to handling preeclampsia is diet for preeclampsia. Objectives: The purpose this study was to investigate the effectiveness of diets program for preeclampsia on decreasing blood pressure in pregnant women. Methods: A pre-experimental design with one group pretest – posttest was carried out. Population was all pregnant women who experience preeclampsia in Public Health Center in Ciputat South Tangerang. Twenty pregnant women who met criteria and completed the intervention were included in this study by using purposive sampling. Researcher explained the program diet and participants received program diets for preeclampsia in the form of a food list table, and fill in a table of food they consumed every day. Sphygmomanometer to measure blood pressure was used. Data collection with measure blood pressure was performed three times, before intervention, two weeks after diet program and one month after diet program. Repeated Measures ANOVA was applied to analysis with ? = 0.05. Results: The mean scores of Systolic blood pressure was 147.06; 143.81; 140.38 in first, second and third collection, respectively. Systolic blood pressure in pregnant women with preeclampsia significantly decreased within two weeks after intervention (F = 31.30; p-value = 0.0001; Eta Squared= 0.676). The mean score of diastolic blood pressure was 102.31, 99.00 and 91.56 respectively. Diastolic blood pressure within two weeks after intervention decreased (F= 19.05; p-value= 0.0001; Eta Squared= 0.560). Conclusion: Diets Programs for Preeclampsia could decrease both systole and diastole blood pressure. The recommendation for pregnant women who have Preeclampsia is to manage preeclampsia diets regularly

    Background: Hypertension is a major factor contributing to cardiovascular disease, which is the number one cause of death globally. Basic Health Research Indonesian Ministry of Health data for 2018 showed that hypertension in East Java Province increased in 2018 by 36.32. So, the authors want to know the effect of isometrics on reducing blood pressure. Objective: The authors want to know the effect of isometrics on reducing blood pressure. Design: This study design is a systematic review to search and review article from database and the theory underlying this study or guidance in this systematic literature review using PRISMA. Data Sources: Based on the results of the literature search through six databases, such as EBSCO, Springer, MedPub, Elsevier, Science Direct, and National Nursing Journal with keywords: Hypertension, High Blood Pressure, Resting Blood Pressure, Isometric Training, Isometric Exercise. The data was search since June 2020. Review Methods: The method used in the preparation of the Literature review using the PRISMA checklist and PICOS. Secondary data obtained from the journal with a predetermined discussion. Results: Based on 18 articles in the literature review, it can be concluded that the results for the research is Isometric exercises that are performed are very effective in reducing blood pressure. Conclusion: Isometric exercises that are performed are very effective in reducing blood pressure. The exercise is doing in 3-4 weeks with 4x2 minutes of exercise with a rest duration of 3 minutes

    ANXIETY OF HEMODIALYSIS PATIENT WITH ACCESS ARTERIOVENOUS FISTULA (AV-SHUNT): A QUALITATIVE STUDY

    Background: Cannulation is an intervention that inserts a needle through the skin into a blood vessel. Av-shunt is the most recommended access for use in the hemodialysis therapy process. Psychosocial problems, especially feelings of anxiety and fear can be felt by patients due to AV-shunt. Anxiety is a scientific attitude experienced by each individual as a form of response in dealing with problems or threats Vascular access complications may threaten lives and reduce treatment satisfaction and life quality.  Objectives: This study aimed to describe hemodialysis patient anxiety with arteriovenous fistula (AV-shunt) access. Methods: A descriptive qualitative study using the in-depth interview method with phenomenology approach. The study was carried out with four informants undergoing hemodialysis in RSUD dr. Haryoto Lumajang. Samples were taken using purposive sampling. Participant statements were recorded using a voice recorded, transcribed, coded, interpreted, and categorized to create a theme. Results: The study results produced three themes: (1) Emotional feeling perceived associated with AV-shunt experience: Anxiety, fear, and helplessness, (2) Physical and physical activity changes: Dark skin, dry skin, limp body, and fatigue, and (3) Patient knowledge regarding av-shunt, i.e., AV-shunt access and based on information sources. Conclusion: Patients with arteriovenous fistula (AV-shunt) access had anxieties caused by cannulation initial pain, fear, and sense of uselessness

    THE INFLUENCE OF TRANSFORMATIONAL LEADERSHIP ON NURSE PERFORMANCE IN TUBERCULOSIS TREATMENT: A NARRATIVE REVIEW

    Background: World Health Organization (WHO) has established a Directly Observed Treatment Short-Course (DOTS) strategy. Carrying out the DOTS strategy, the public health center is running the TB Prevention and Treatment program, in Indonesia it is called prevention and countermeasures of tuberculosis (P2TB) but in reality, the P2TB program has not been effectively implemented. Health workers who play an important role in carrying out their roles and duties in society are nurses. One of the efforts to improve the performance of nurses in TB treatment is the application of transformational leadership. The purpose of this literature review is to examine the results of the past 10 years of research related to the influence of transformational leadership on nurse performance in tuberculosis treatment. Design: This study design is a literature review to search and review article from database and theory underlying this study or guidance in this literature review using Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and PRISMA. Data Sources: The data base used in the article searches used include: Science Direct, PubMed, Google scholar, EBSCO using the keywords transformational leadership, nurse performance, tuberculosis treatment. The articles used are those between the years 2009-2019. Review Methods: The review method for this literature review using a narrative method by classifying the similar extracted data according to the research findings. Results: The main component of transformational leadership to improve The performance of nurses to play a more optimal role in an effective and efficient TB treatment effort is an idealized influence, which is that nurses have charismatic, in the fact that nurses in providing nursing care in the community must provide good paragons and become role models in the field of good health to individuals, families, groups and communities about how to live clean and healthy as behavior that can be imitated by the community, inspirational motivation for nurses as health teacher educators or health counselling which is a part of health promotion, the nurse's intellectual stimulation empowers communities to solve health problems in the community through small group discussions, and individual consideration, in this case the nurse's duty is as an advice provider and counseling is highly important and beneficial for the community. In order to achieve the fulfillment of the roles and responsibilities of nurses, there must be inner motivation among nurses in order that they can provide decent motivation to the community. Conclusion: Transformational leadership can be applied to improve the performance of nurses in TB treatment efforts

    EFFECTIVENESS LEARNING USING THE GOOGLE CLASSROOM APPLICATION ON UNDERSTANDING OF NURSING STUDENTS ABOUT DISASTER MANAGEMENT

    Background: Online learning with the help of information and communication technology is very helpful in the current Corona Virus Disease 19 pandemic. Objectives: This study aimed to determine the effect of learning using google classroom on the understanding of the concept of Disaster Management in undergraduate students of Nursing at Nahdlatul Ulama University, Surabaya. Methods: Pre-experimental research design with one group pretest posttest design. The population of all undergraduate nursing study program students and a sample of 30 students by simple random sampling was carried out for 3 months, June-August 2020. Data collection was in the form of a questionnaire about knowledge about disaster management. Statistical test using the Wilcoxon Sign Rank Test. Results: The results of statistical tests obtained a significance value of 0.000 (p value <0.005) which means that there is an effect of using the google classroom method on students' understanding of management. Conclusion: Students' understanding improves after receiving material on hate through google classroom

    THE ROLE OF EMERGENCY NURSING IN NEW NORMAL ADAPTATION: A NARRATIVE REVIEW

    The new normal for nurses is a push to revitalize the profession, especially for emergency nurses. Many patients with COVID-19 will be asymptomatic or minimally symptomatic. The role of Emergency Nurses as frontline in Pandemic have to adaptation with new standard for guideline personal protection equipment. The purpose of this study was to discuss the role of Emergency Nursing in in new normal adaptation during pandemic of Covid-19. This is a theoretical reflection based on the scientific literature. The pandemic emphasizes the importance of nursing care for the preservation of life and the right to health, and the Nursing Now Campaign echoes the demand for recognition of nursing practitioners who are at the frontline fighting of the COVID-19. Nursing practitioners have vital role as care giver, educator, advocacy, researcher and agent of change. Emergency of nursing have vital role in new normal   adaptation as frontline. Nursing must consider its own worth, expand its potential for lifelong learning role as care giver, educator, advocacy and researcher, and be mindful be agent of change

    MASSAGE EFFLURAGE USING RED GINGER EFFECTIVELY RELIEVES GOUT ARTHRITIS PAIN IN ELDERS

    ABSTRACT BACKGROUND: Most elders with gout arthritis pain choose analgesic to deal with their pain. Massage efflurage using red ginger is a therapy to reduce gout arthritis pain. The objective of research was to find out the effectiveness of message efflurage using red ginger in relieving gout arthritis pain in elders. METHOD: The research design employed in this study was pre-experimental one group pre-posttest design. Independent variable was massage efflurage using red ginger and dependent variable was gout arthritis pain in elders. The population of research was all elders in Kedungbendo Village of Mojokerto Regency, consisted of 36 elders. The sample of research consisted of 33 elders taken using probability simple random sampling technique used. Pretest-posttest data were collected using numerical pain scale observation sheet. RESULT: The result of pretest-posttest obtained from 8 respondents with severe pain showed that their pain change into mild (5 respondents) and moderate pains (3). Out of 21 respondents, 9 respondents showed that their pain changed from moderate into no pain, 10 respondents into mild pain and 2 stable. Out of 4 respondents with mild pain, all of them showed that their pain changed into no pain. CONCLUSION: The result of Wilcoxon test showed 0.000 ≤ α= 0.05, meaning that there is an effective effect of massage efflurage using red ginger on the relief of gout arthritis pain in elders. This result indicated that massage efflurage using red ginger affected the gout arthritis pain scale in elders. Respondents are expected to reduce the consumption of analgesics and to switch to a safe alternative therapy to reduce negative effect related to aging process experienced by elders.   Keywords: Gout Arthritis, Massage Efflurage, Red Ginge

    FACTORS RELATED TO NURSE’S RESPONSE TIME IN HANDLING OF EMERGENCY PATIENTS

    Background: In emergency care, the most important thing to note is the speed of nurses in responding or acting on the first patient who enters the emergency room. This speed is often referred to as response time. Nurse response time is always a measure of the service quality of a hospital or health center. Response times depend on the speed available as well as the quality of assistance to save lives/prevent disability. Objectives: The study aimed to determine the factors related to the response time of nurses in the handling of emergency patients at Lagaligo I Hospital, East Luwu. Methods: Carrying out the research is from June to August 2020. Analytical survey design with a cross-sectional approach. The research subjects were 24 nurses. measuring tools, namely questionnaires. analysis used bivariate analysis used the Chi-Square Test. Results: This shows that there is a relationship between education and response time with a value of p-value = .013, knowledge and response time with a value of p-value = .001, the length of work and response time with a value of p-value = .000, and training and response time with p-value = .006. Conclusion: The education level of health workers is getting higher. Of course, knowledge and experience also increase, on average they are in their work longer so they are more productive and nurses have attended several pieces of training to improve their competencies

    PSYCHOSPIRITUAL, STRESS, AND COPING STRATEGY OF PULMONARY TUBERCULOSIS PATIENT: A LITERATURE REVIEW

    Background: Tuberculosis can cause psychological disorders in a person. Spiritual approaches can be used to improve coping strategies to suppress stress symptoms that arise. Objective: The purpose of this study is to describe the psychospiritual conditions, stress and coping strategies that occur in patients with tuberculosis. Design: The research design uses systematic review based on PRISMA checklist. Data Sources: Using three databases; Scopus, Science Direct and EBSCO. The search was conducted from January to March 2021. The keyword “tuberculosis†OR “pulmonary TB’ OR “psychology†OR “spiritual†OR “stress†OR “coping strategy†was used in this systematic review with journal articles, 2016-2021 publication years and English as searching limitation. Review Methods: JBI Critical Appraisal Tool used to assess the quality of the articles and PRISMA checklist used as a guideline to filter articles. Results: 10 articles were obtained according to the inclusion criteria. The results of the analysis showed 7 articles using a cross sectional design, 2 quasi-experimental, and 1 qualitative study. The number of samples with a cross-sectional design ranged from 45 to 1,342, while articles with a quasi-experimental, qualitative and comparative study design had 32, 15 and 78 patients with pulmonary TB as respondents. Almost all of the psychological conditions in pulmonary TB patients experience stress and coping disorders. The results of the analysis show that spirituality can be used to improve the coping strategies used so as to suppress the stress symptoms that arise. Conclusion: Psychospiritual strategies can be used as a way to improve the coping of TB sufferers and reduce the stress they experience
