The mood meter: an educational tool to enhance the understanding of emotions
Full text linkLa inteligencia emocional se ha relacionado positivamente con la competencia social, adaptación al entorno, éxito académico y bienestar. En este estudio se presenta una propuesta didáctica basada en el modelo de Mayer y Salovey con el objetivo de facilitar la comprensión emocional en alumnos de Educación Primaria. Los resultados ponen de manifiesto que la utilización del termómetro emocional como herramienta lúdica podría facilitar el aprendizaje y la comprensión de las emociones en niños y niñas.Emotional intelligence has been positively related to social competence, adaptation to the environment, academic success and wellbeing. This study shows a didactic proposal based on the model of Mayer and Salovey (i.e., four branch model of ability) aimed to develop the emotional understanding in primary education students. The results suggest that the use of the mood meter as ludic tool could enhance children’s learning process and their understanding of emotions

Full text linkEn mi trabajo, intento explicar lo que El Plan Espiritual de Aztlán supuso en la forjadura de un sentimiento político-patriótico chicano que sentara las bases de su tradición cultural. El nombramiento de Aztlán fue un acto espontáneo que creó una conciencia espiritual chicana: ningún otro acto del Movimiento Chicano tuvo tanta repercusión como la declaración de El Plan Espiritual de Aztlán. Las circunstancias que motivaron la redacción del Plan se circunscriben en la lucha por los derechos civiles de los chicanos.The aim of this paper is to explain the meaning of The Spiritual Plan of Aztlán in the forging of a Chicano political and patriotic sentiment, which set the basis for its cultural tradition. The recognition and naming of Aztlán was a spontaneous act which created a deep Chicano spiritual consciousness. No other act of this movement was as impressive as The Spiritual Plan of Aztlán. This Plan was a direct response in the fight of chicanos for their civil rights

En la mayoría de los casos hay entusiasmo por empezar a trabajar con niños cada vez más pequeños, lo cual es desafortunado. Son innumerables las cosas que los niños pequeños pueden hacer, tanto con el lenguaje como con otras áreas del desarrollo. Sin embargo, trabajar con letras desde muy pequeños no es lo más recomendable ya que es bastante abstracto. Es mejor que las letras se introduzcan cuando el niño haya desarrollado otros conceptos, los cuales se explicaran con más detalle en este artículo.There are many questions about how and when the alphabet is introduced in Montessori education. In most cases there is enthusiasm to start working with younger and younger children, which is unfortunate. There are countless things that young children can do, both with language and with other areas of development. However, working with letters from a very early age is not the best thing to do as it is quite abstract. In order to achieve this goal, some examples of logically organised material are going to be shown, comparing them with material which is not logically organised. In addition, in case of being taught, it is explained as a list of different formula. In these lines, the importance of geometry is highlighted. Furthermore, the highlight consists in the ability of learning it from the daily-routine objects. In order to achieve this goal, three steps proposed by Antonia Canals are going to be followed. And finally, in this article the author is going to show some of the available material to work on geometry following these three steps as well as some activities
