    Teologi Luka: Protes, subversi, dan harapan dalam Mazmur 37

    This study analyzes Psalm 37 through the lens of liberation hermeneutics, the theology of suffering, and Midrash Tehillim. The findings reveal that the promise of land inheritance for the righteous is not merely an eschatological comfort but a subversive social critique against structures of injustice. The acrostic structure emphasizes God’s order amid social chaos, while Midrash Tehillim teaches that theological protest is a valid expression of faith. The suffering of the righteous is understood as part of God\u27s solidarity, who shares in humanity’s pain. Thus, Psalm 37 calls the church to become an empathetic agent of change, embodying social justice and strengthening believers’ faith. This message is relevant to modern contexts marked by social and economic inequality. This research highlights that experiences of suffering are not just pain, but also a call to action, involving participation in God’s mission of peace and justice in a broken world.   Abstrak Penelitian ini menganalisis Mazmur 37 dengan pendekatan hermeneutika pembebasan, teologi luka, dan Midrash Tehillim. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa janji pewarisan tanah bagi orang benar bukan hanya penghiburan eskatologis, melainkan kritik sosial subversif terhadap struktur ketidakadilan. Struktur akrostik menegaskan keteraturan Allah di tengah kekacauan sosial, sementara Midrash Tehillim mengajarkan bahwa protes teologis adalah bentuk iman yang sahih. Penderitaan orang benar dipahami sebagai bagian dari solidaritas Allah yang turut merasakan penderitaan umat. Dengan demikian, Mazmur 37 mengundang gereja untuk menjadi agen perubahan yang empatik, menghadirkan keadilan sosial dan meneguhkan iman umat. Pesan ini relevan bagi konteks modern yang sarat dengan ketimpangan sosial dan ekonomi.     Culture is one factor that shapes the characteristics of the Christian faith in a region. However, not all cultural elements can be compromised with the Christian faith. There is always an effort to create a dialogue between tradition and the Christian faith so that tradition can enrich the appreciation of the Christian faith in the local context. This paper offers a contextual dialogical approach between the kappunan tradition and the text of 1 Samuel 14:24-46. The method used is the cross-textual reading hermeneutic or cross-cultural method. As a result, this research shows that the kappunan tradition should not be based on the belief that food brings curses, but rather that food is a blessing for those who receive and are grateful for it, and will not even bring disaster to those who reject it. Apart from that, the kappunan tradition cannot be a means of judgment but rather a reminder that accepting food from other people is a form of love and appreciation for the hospitality of different people. AbstrakBudaya merupakan salah satu faktor yang membentuk karakteristik iman Kristen di sebuah wilayah. Namun, tidak semua unsur budaya dapat begitu saja dikompromikan dengan iman Kristen. Selalu ada upaya untuk mendialogkan tradisi dan iman Kristen agar tradisi dapat memperkaya penghayatan iman Kristen dalam konteks lokal. Tulisan ini menawarkan pendekatan dialogis kontekstual antara tradisi kappunan dengan teks 1 Samuel 14:24-46. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode hermeneutik cross-textual reading atau silang budaya. Hasilnya, penelitian ini menunjukkan tradisi kappunan seharusnya tidak didasarkan pada keyakinan bahwa makanan mendatangkan kutuk, melainkan makanan adalah berkat bagi yang menerima dan mensyukurinya, bahkan tidak akan mendatangkan musibah bagi yang menolaknya. Selain itu, tradisi kappunan tidak dapat menjadi alat penghakiman, melainkan sebagai pengingat bahwa menerima makanan dari orang lain merupakan wujud kasih dan penghargaan atas keramahtamahan dari orang lain

    Unlocking meaning: Truth-conditional semantic and syntactic analysis in the Bible

    This research focused on complex conditional sentences in the Christian bible, employing truth-conditional semantics and syntactic analysis to uncover their theological messages. A qualitative study analyzed 20 verses, categorized into four types of conditional sentences according to Ferdinand de Saussure\u27s syntagmatic and paradigmatic relations. It involved word analysis, structural classification, context correlation, synonymous exploration, and historical and theological consideration. The findings revealed several key insights. First, conditional sentences in the Christian bible predominantly featured compound-complex structures with an active voice, highlighting subjects and actions in religious verses. Second, they adhered to declarative formats, aligning with truth-telling principles in religious contexts. Third, complex structures and subordinate clauses conveyed conditional details, reasons, and situations, elaborating on the interplay between syntax and semantics. This research enriched our understanding of the relationship among verb forms, modal verbs, and diverse meanings within English conditional sentence types in the Christian bible. Fourth, this research had a significant social impact on human development from a theological perspective by enhancing spiritual growth, critical thinking, and ethical understanding. It promoted personal transformation and reflective faith, providing religious leaders with tools to interpret scripture more accurately. Additionally, the research clarified how biblical language communicated moral imperatives, supported ethical frameworks, and facilitated interfaith dialogue. Preserving theological heritage contributed to the holistic development of individuals and communities.     This study examines the integration of Christian education and pastoral care as a trauma recovery model for natural disaster victims in Indonesia. Natural disasters frequently occurring in Indonesia create complex trauma affecting spiritual, psychological, and social dimensions of survivors. This research identifies a critical gap between traditional Christian education approaches and the urgent need for trauma-informed pastoral accompaniment in disaster contexts. Using qualitative theological methods and literature review from reputable theological journals and books, this study proposes a holistic model integrating pastoral counseling principles with Christian educational practices. The findings suggest that trauma-informed Christian education, grounded in theological understanding of suffering and grace, provides meaningful pathways for spiritual resilience and communal healing. This model emphasizes Holy Saturday theology, presence-based ministry, and contextualized pedagogical approaches that honor survivors\u27 traumatic experiences while fostering hope and transformation.   Abstrak Penelitian ini mengkaji integrasi pendidikan agama Kristen dan pendampingan pastoral sebagai model pemulihan trauma bagi korban bencana alam di Indonesia. Bencana alam yang sering terjadi di Indonesia menciptakan trauma kompleks yang memengaruhi dimensi spiritual, psikologis, dan sosial para penyintas. Riset ini mengidentifikasi kesenjangan kritis antara pendekatan pendidikan agama Kristen tradisional dan kebutuhan mendesak akan pendampingan pastoral yang sadar-trauma dalam konteks bencana. Menggunakan metode teologis kualitatif dan tinjauan literatur dari buku-buku dan artikel-artikel jurnal teologi bereputasi, studi ini mengusulkan model holistik yang mengintegrasikan prinsip konseling pastoral dengan praktik pendidikan Kristen.     This article aims to emphasize that being Christian and being Indonesian are a manifestation of the Christian faith. The methodological approach used to explain it is trajectory history. The historical traces of Indonesia\u27s struggle for independence, especially its nationalism movement, can be compared in a historical analysis with the experience of the colonialization of the Jews, the ministry of Jesus, and His crucifixion. The crucifixion\u27 Jesus, which had occurred at the time of the colonialization of Jews, is the center of Christian preaching. Both the Jewish community and the Indonesian people had the same experience of colonialism in different eras and different powers.     The urgency of environmental issues has become a widespread discussion among academics and practitioners, both nationally and internationally. Academically, various perspectives have been offered. In music studies, ecomusicology is an extra-musical breakthrough that can answer the challenges of environmental issues. Ecomusicologists strive to compose musical works that express love for nature and foster a sense of friendship towards nature and non-human creatures. In Christian theology, theological reflection on ecology is called eco-theology and has undergone many developments in the last few decades. This article attempts to explain the potential of ecomusicology for church music by locating it in dialogue with eco-theology. This paper argues that eco-theology can enrich ecomusicology by reflecting on the relationship between God, humans, and nature. It also encourages church musicians to create eco-musicological compositions about nature and make them an integral part of their composition.   Abstrak Urgensi isu lingkungan sudah menjadi perbincangan ramai baik di kalangan akademisi maupun praktisi dalam skala nasional maupun internasional. Secara akademis, berbagai sudut pandang telah ditawarkan. Dalam konteks studi musik, ekomusikologi merupakan sebuah terobosan ekstra-musikal dalam rangka menjawab tantangan isu pencemaran lingkungan. Para ekomusikolog berupaya untuk menggubah karya-karya musikal yang menyuarakan kecintaan kepada alam dan menumbuhkan rasa persahabatan dalam hati manusia terhadap alam dan makhluk non-manusia di dalamnya. Through the metaphor of kintsugi, the art of repairing broken pottery with gold, congregants are invited to embrace traumatic experiences as spaces for divine encounters. In the pastoral context, restored wounds are not merely symbols of weakness but tangible evidence of God\u27s grace that heals and renews life. This study explores the integration of theopoetics in addressing trauma, emphasizing the importance of narrative, art, and community in the healing process. The church is called to be a safe space that provides comfort and accompanies congregants as they reconstruct their lives with renewed hope. This approach not only enriches pastoral counseling practices but also deepens theological understanding of suffering and salvation. Theopoetic kintsugi offers a spiritual model that asserts the presence of the Divine in every wound, paving the way for reconciliation, spiritual growth, and a meaningful testimony of life.   Abstrak Kintsugi teopoetik menawarkan perspektif baru dalam konseling pastoral dengan menyoroti keindahan yang muncul dari retakan dan luka kehidupan. Pendekatan ini menggeser paradigma kesembuhan dari penghapusan penderitaan menuju penerimaan dan transformasi luka sebagai bagian dari perjalanan spiritual. Melalui metafora kintsugi, seni memperbaiki keramik yang pecah dengan emas, jemaat diajak untuk merangkul pengalaman traumatik sebagai ruang perjumpaan dengan Allah. Dalam konteks pastoral, luka yang dipulihkan tidak hanya menjadi tanda kelemahan, tetapi juga bukti nyata dari kasih karunia Allah yang memulihkan dan memperbarui kehidupan. Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi integrasi teopoetik dalam trauma, menekankan pentingnya narasi, seni, dan komunitas dalam proses pemulihan.     The idea of church leadership becomes more interesting because it is associated with managerial competencies that pastors need to have as leaders in the congregation. The pastor\u27s leadership as a congregation pastor is considered sufficient if not given the mandate to manage the organization according to managerial principles. This qualitative research study uses a descriptive and case study approach to explore and map the organizational roles and functions inherent in every pastor as a church leader. The results show that pastors lack the skills of a manager, which impacts the church organization\u27s management quality. They need to equip themselves with managerial skills to carry out management functions such as planning, organizing, implementing, controlling, evaluating, and optimally managing the structure and resources of the church organization to increase the competitiveness of the church in society. The church, in stages, needs to schedule education and training programs, workshops, and comparative studies for pastors. These findings will become a framework for pastors as church leaders today and in the future.   Abstrak Gagasan mengenai kepemimpinan gereja menjadi lebih menarik sebab dikaitkan dengan kompetensi manajerial yang perlu dimiliki pendeta sebagai pemimpin di jemaat. Kepemimpinan pendeta sebagai gembala jemaat dianggap cukup jika tidak diberikan mandat mengelola organisasi sesuai prinsip-prinsip manajerial. Ini adalah sebuah kajian riset kualitatif yang menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan studi kasus untuk mengeksplorasi dan memetakan peran dan fungsi manajerial yang melekat erat dalam diri setiap pendeta sebagai pemimpin gereja. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa para pendeta kurang memiliki keterampilan sebagai seorang manajer sehingga berdampak terhadap kualitas pengelolaan organisasi gereja. Mereka perlu melengkapi diri dengan keterampilan manajerial sehingga dapat melaksanakan fungsi-fungsi manajemen seperti merencanakan, mengorganisasi, melaksanakan, mengendalikan, mengevaluasi dan mengelola struktur serta sumber daya organisasi gereja secara maksimal untuk meningkatkan daya saing gereja di masyarakat. Gereja secara berjenjang, perlu mengagendakan program-program pendidikan dan pelatihan, workhsop, dan studi banding bagi para pendeta.     This research aims to determine students\u27 perceptions and expectations of the Master of Christian Education Management study program. The students in this research were school principals at the SMA/SMK level in Humbang Hasundutan and North Tapanuli Regencies. The survey method is the approach used in this research. The number of respondents in this research was 74 respondents. The results of the research show that the perception of high school/vocational school principals towards the IAKN Tarutung Postgraduate Christian Education Management Masters Study Program, in general, each item is in the good and very good categories. Values are in the intervals 68-83% and 84-100%. Then, the perception of high school/vocational school principals towards the IAKN Tarutung Postgraduate Christian Education Management Masters Study Program, is included in the very good category, in the interval 84-100%. This shows that the perceptions and expectations of students in the Master of Christian Education Management study program are very good and their existence is very much neede
