Menggali makna keluarga Allah dalam dunia Alkitab dan surat Efesus: analisis historis-biblis
Get PDFThis study aims to find the historical and theological vision of the Church??"s concept as the household of God. Historically, the idea of family or household was a heritage of ancient society. Theologically, the idea was related to God in Jesus Christ as a cornerstone and foundation for the Christian community living in the world. This concept is very relevant as the way for Christians to face various crises in life. This research uses qualitative research methods through a literature study approach. The data analysis uses the historical-theological criticism, which starts from the idea of family and household in the New Testament world, covering the context of Israel in the Bible, Greco-Roman society, and New Testament writings, then interpretation the meaning of the community of the believer as the household of God in Ephesians 2:19. Argumentatively, I argue that the idea of God??"s household has a strong influence on the relevance of being Church today in addressing various social problems, both problems of life crises and social inequalities, as well as various conflicts.
Abstrak
Kajian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan visi teologi-historis konsep persekutuan beriman sebagai keluarga Allah. Secara historis, gagasan keluarga atau rumah tangga telah mengakar di dalam konteks masyarakat di masa lampau. Secara teologis, konsep ini dihubungkan dengan Allah di dalam Yesus Kristus, yang dimaknai sebagai batu penjuru dan dasar dari kehidupan komu-nitas Kristen hingga di masa kini. Gagasan ini masih tetap relevan sebagai jalan bagai umat Kristen merespons berbagai persoalan dan krisis dalam kehidupan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kepustakaan. Analisis data menggunakan metode kritik historis-teologis yang dimulai dengan analisis konsep keluarga atau rumah tangga di dalam dunia Perjanjian Baru, meliputu konteks Israel dalam Alkitab, masyarakat Yunani-Romawi, tulisan-tulisan PB, dan penafsiran makna komunitas beriman sebagai keluarga Allah di dalam Efesus 2:19. Secara argumentatif, penulis menegaskan bahwa konsep keluarga Allah sangat relevan dan mempunyai dampak bagi keberadaan gereja hingga di masa kini, terutama dalam menghadapi berbagai persoalan sosila, krisis kehidupan, dan berbagai konflik
Transformasi komunitas misi: Gereja sebagai ciptaan baru dalam Roh Kudus

Transformation is a positive change toward Christ that marks believers??" life, as indicated by Paul??"s exhortation in Romans 12:2. The church refers to the people who believe in Christ so they are renewed by the power of the Holy Spirit. That transformation or renewal empowers the church to function as the light of the world, as a missional community through the power of the Holy Spirit. This article seeks to present the strong correlation between the spiritual transformation of the church by the power of the Holy Spirit with her function as a missional community. This article elaborates the meaning of transformation in the New Testament, the meaning of transformation from the perspective of systematic theology, and the strong correlation between spiritual transformation and the function of the church as a missional community.
Abstrak
Transformasi adalah kunci dari pertumbuhan gereja dan misi. Hal tersebut merupakan perubahan positif yang menjadi ciri kehidupan orang percaya kearah Kristus, sebagaimana nasehat Paulus dalam Kitab Roma 12:2. Gereja adalah orang-orang yang percaya kepada Kristus sehingga dibaharui oleh kuasa Roh Kudus. Transformasi atau pembaharuan tersebut merupakan hal yang memampukan Gereja untuk berfungsi sebagai terang dunia, sebagai komunitas misional oleh kuasa Roh Kudus. Artikel ini melihat relasi yang erat antara transformasi Gereja oleh kuasa Roh Kudus dengan berfungsinya Gereja sebagai suatu komunitas misi. Get PDFThis article highlights the issue of radicalism that is rife in Indonesia today. Deradicalization is seen as an effort that can be taken to overcome this problem. This paper presents the realization of this strategy from Christian Education\u27s perspective. A qualitative approach through analysis of written materials in literature study is presented in this paper. In particular, the research results from the discourse analysis study of news papers that have been carried out previously are used along with some supporting works of literature to complement the required analysis data. Jack L. Seymour\u27s ideas about the importance of a holistic approach in Christian Education, including a faith community approach, instructional and missional, are the theoretical basis in this paper. These three approaches are correlated with the concept of public theology. As a result, Christian education for encouraging people in the public sphere has become a transformational approach to present the benefits of faith education in the public sphere, primarily to support the deradicalization process.
Abstrak
Tulisan ini menyoroti persoalan radikalisme yang marak di Indonesia saat ini. Deradikalisasi dipandang sebagai salah satu upaya yang dapat ditempuh dalam mengatasi persoalan ini. Tulisan ini mengetengahkan realisasi dari strategi ini dalam perspektif Pendidikan Kristiani. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif melalui jenis penelitian literatur, analisis bahan tertulis dipaparkan dalam tulisan ini. Secara khusus hasil penelitian dari kajian analisis wacana atas surat kabar yang telah dilakukan sebelumnya beserta tambahan beberapa literatur penunjang disuguhkan untuk melengkapi data analisis. Gagasan Jack L. Seymour tentang pentingnya pendekatan holistik dalam Pendidikan Kristiani yang meliputi pendekatan komunitas iman, instruksional dan misi menjadi landasan teori dalam tulisan ini. Ketiga pendekatan ini dikorelasikan dengan kajian teologi publik. Hasilnya, partisipasi pendidikan Kristiani di ruang publik menjadi sebuah bentuk pendekatan transformasional dalam upaya untuk menghadirkan manfaat pendidikan iman pada ruang publik, khususnya dalam menunjang proses deradikalisasi

First, the urgency of critical reading toward the dreams of transhumanism. Second, how the COVID-19 pandemic turned into an enormous challenge for transhumanism concepts? Third, referring to the Gittins, how significant of his intentions could bring alertness to the transhumanists and believers in a new identity thought in Christ? In his explorative research, the author will employ a descriptive qualitative method. The last part is a result and suggestions for further exploration and also for readers to find out a dynamic of human self-identity.AbstrakTulisan ini berupaya untuk membaca ulang mimpi besar transhumanisme tentang suatu peradaban super agung manusia mengenai masa depan dalam aspek kekekalan, kejeniusan, dan kebahagiaan. Hasrat super tersebut menghadapi tantangan super besar pula melalui kenyataan pandemi Covid-19. Berefleksi dari konsep Anthony Gittins tentang identitas baru komunitas orang-orang percaya, tulisan dikembangkan sebagai berikut: Pertama, urgensi membaca ulang secara kritis mimpi super kalangan transhumanis. Kedua, bagaimana pandemi Covid-19 menjadi tantangan super bagi konsep transhumanime? Ketiga, merujuk pada pemikiran Anthony Gittins, sejauh mana konsep Gittins dapat menyadarkan kaum transhumanis, dan kelompok orang percaya tentang identitas baru dalam Kristus. Nostra Aetate: Sebuah alternatif menuju keharmonisan di tengah suburnya intoleransi dan diskriminasi
Get PDFPandemi Covid 19 memberi dampak di berbagai lini kehidupan. Salah satunya adalah meningkatnya angka diskriminasi dan intoleransi yang dialami oleh berbagai kalangan masyarakat dari berbagai penganut agama maupun golongan. Banyak cara telah dilakukan demi hilangnya intoleransi dan diskriminasi di Indonesia namun masih saja terdapat tindakan-tindakan tersebut. Paper ini mengusulkan konsep dialog yang bertumpu pada deklarasi Nostra Aetate. Pendekatan utama yang dilakukan dalam paper ini adalah teori-kritik (critical theory) untuk menganalisa secara deskriptif konsep-konsep utama yang dibahas yakni Nostra Aetate dan dialog kerukunan. Hasil yang didapat adalah bahwa deklarasi Nostra Aetate merupakan sebuah tawaran alternatif yang dapat diambil di Indonesia guna menyampaikan kasih Allah kepada manusia melalui beberapa cara dialogis, pastoral dan harmonis.
Pengaruh dekadensi moral terhadap pendidikan karakter dan bimbingan konseling pada siswa Kristen
Get PDFThe background of this research is based on the moral crisis that occurred in an Adventist Christian high school. The purpose of the study was to identify the effect of moral decadence on character education and counseling guidance, as well as the effect of character education on counseling guidance. This quantitative research uses structural equation modeling (SEM). The data collection technique used random proportionate cluster sampling, with 553 students from three schools as the sample. The results of the study have an effect on positive moral decadence on character education and counseling guidance. Meanwhile, character education has a negative effect on counseling guidance. In conclusion, inconsistent character education results in moral decadence which requires students to do counseling, so character education must focus on one day-to-day rather than focus on student mistakes so that the process is consistent.
Abstrak
Latar belakang penelitian ini didasarkan pada krisis moral yang terjadi di sekolah menengah Kristen Advent. Tujuan penelitian untuk meng-identifikasi pengaruh dekadensi moral terhadap pendidikan karakter dan bim-bingan konseling, serta pengaruh pendidikan karakter terhadap bimbingan konseling. Penelitian kuantitatif ini menggunakan pemodelan persamaan struk-tural (SEM). Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan random propor-sionate cluster sampling, dengan 553 siswa dari tiga sekolah sebagai sampel. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkann bahwa dekadensi moral berpengaruh positif ter-hadap pendidikan karakter dan bimbingan konseling. Sementara pendidikan karakter berpengaruh negatif terhadap bimbingan konseling. Kesimpulannya, pendidikan karakter yang inkonsistensi mengakibatkan dekadensi moral yang mengharuskan siswa melakukan bimbingan konseling, sehingga pendidikan karakter harus berfokus kepada situasi sehari-hari daripada fokus mencari kesalahan siswa agar prosesnya konsisten
Analisis kritis konstruktif praksis teologi publik Gereja Masehi Injili Halmahera di era otonomi daerah
Get PDFThis paper highlights the praxis of public theology that resulted from the decisions of the Synod of the Evangelical Christian Church in Halmahera (GMIH Synod) in the context of the era of regional autonomy during the 2002-2017 ministry period. By using qualitative research methods through library research, this analysis examines theological discourse and living church praxis as stated in the decisions of the GMIH Synod. Starting from the analysis of the social function of the Church emphasized by Ricardo F. Nanuru and the praxis of inter-religious advocate public theology by Felix Wilfred, this study found that: (a) GMIH ecclesiastical documents have seeded the praxis of interreligious public theology in the form of a series of pastoral recommendations and information on the Church\u27s social services; (b this interreligious public theology advocacy practice needs to have an adequate theological basis and a measurable translation into the practice of living in the GMIH church. This theologically measured programmatic integration helps GMIH demonstrate its ecclesiastical identity as a social-humanist-ecological body of Christ that has an impact on Halmahera\u27s public sphere in the era of regional autonomy which is being overshadowed by the neo-liberal economy and the extractive and exploitive mining economy. AbstrakTulisan ini menyoroti praxis teologi publik hasil keputusan-keputusan persidangan Sinode Gereja Masehi Injili di Halmahera (Sinode GMIH) dalam konteks otonomi daerah selama periode pelayanan 2002-2017. Dengan meng-gunakan metode penelitian kualitatif melalui jenis penelitian kepustakaan, analisis ini mengkaji wacana teologis dan praxis hidup seperti tertuang dalam keputusan-keputusan Sidang Sinode GMIH. Bertolak dari analisis fungsi sosial Gereja yang ditekankan oleh Ricardo F. Nanuru dan praxis teologi publik advo-katif intereligius Felix Wilfred kajian ini menghasilkan: (a) dokumen-dokumen gerejawi GMIH telah membenihkan praxis teologi publik intereligius dalam bentuk serangkaian anjuran pastoral dan informasi pelayanan sosial Gereja; (b) praxis advokasi teologi publik interreligious ini perlu mendapat pendasaran teo-logis yang memadai dan penerjemahannya yang terukur dalam praktik hidup menggereja GMIH. Using the Social Identity Theory shows that the apostle Paul echoes the Shema when utilizing the oneness language in 1 Corinthians 12. The theory also demonstrates that the Shema has social functions in 1 Corinthians 12. Resiliensi spiritual menghadapi disruption religious value di masa pandemi Covid-19 pada lembaga keagamaan
Get PDFThe Covid-19 pandemic has not yet provided a clear way of when this problem will end. It is precisely the opposite fact that is obtained, namely the increasing number of its spread. Of course, this can be a problem in cultivating the value of God\u27s Word. The value that departs from the fruit of the Spirit is not well heeded and deeply ingrained. Therefore, a strategy is needed to increase spiritual resilience in order to survive during a pandemic. The methodology used in this research is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques is a case study through data triangulation. The results of the study suggest that spiritual resilience can be seen from the intensity of prayer together with groups or families, exemplary through face-to-face worship meetings. There are also symbolic interactions when religious institution activities are carried out online. It creates an understanding of thinking and acting in the meaning of thoughts, understanding about oneself, and their relationship in the middle of social interactions. It is the ultimate goal to mediate and interpret the meaning in the community where the individual lives and socializes. AbstrakPandemi Covid-19 belum memberikan jalan terang kapan akan berakhir. Hal ini dapat menjadi masalah dalam penanaman nilai Firman Tuhan terkait Sembilan buah Roh; menjadi tidak terperhatikan dengan baik dan tertanam pada jemaat. Oleh karenanya, diperlukan strategi dalam meningkatkan ketahanan spiritual agar dapat tetap survive pada masa pandemi. Metodologi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data adalah studi kasus melalui triangulasi data. Hasil penelitian mengemukakan bahwa ketahanan spiritual dapat dilihat dari intensitas doa bersama dengan kelompok atau keluarga, keteladanan melalui pertemuan-pertemuan ibadah secara tatap langsung. Terdapat juga interaksi simbolik ketika kegiatan lembaga keagamaan yang dilaksanakan secara online. Implementasi penanaman nilai firman tuhan menjadi salah satu strategi dalam rangkamembuat suatu pemahaman berpikir, selain itu terdapat juga aktualitas tindakan yang dipikirkan terlebih dahulu, pemahaman mengenai diri dan hubungannya dengan interaksi sosial. Measuring spirituality above religiosity: efforts to suppress the procrastination of teachers of Christian education through the internalization of love
Get PDFThe purpose of this study is to identify the internalization of love as an effort to suppress the procrastination of teachers of Christian education. Christian education in the New Testament is a pivoted education on the Great Teacher of Jesus Christ. It is a Divine and human effort that has existed for a long time and continues to undergo changes in which it contains philosophical and theological content whose function produces life changes that draw one closer to establishing a relationship with God. This research was conducted using quantitative approaches with descriptive methods of correlation. The population distribution in this study was teachers of Christian education in North Sumatera, represented by 42 respondents as a sample (N=42). The sampling technique used was random sampling and be analyzed with simple regression analysis. The correlation that occurs between the two variables is 0.614. It appears that the effect of the effort to internalize love on Suppressing Procrastination is 37,7%, while the other 62,3% is influenced by other factors. The process of internalization which is an embodiment of spirituality has a positive influence, which can overcome the inability to encourage yourself to make a duty to be done. It is suggested subsequent studies regarding the theme in the larger populations and finding another form of internalization to confirm and develop the results of this research
