Revolusi hijau dalam pendidikan kristiani: Menghidupkan ecophilia dalam spiritualitas keseharian
Christian religious education in Indonesia must integrate the concept of ecophilia (love for the environment) to overcome the increasingly severe environmental crisis. This research aims to develop strategies for implementing ecophilia in Christian education and evaluating its impact on student attitudes and behavior, as well as collaboration throughout the school community in environmentally friendly practices. Using a qualitative approach with thematic analysis, this research found that integrating ecophilia in the curriculum and school activities increased ecological awareness and the formation of students\u27 character who care about the en-vironment. Through active participation in environmental programs, the school community becomes an effective agent of change, reflecting faith manifested in concrete actions. The results of this research provide a concrete framework for integrating ecological responsibility into daily spi-rituality in Christian religious education, creating an ecologically and spiritually responsible generation. Through this approach, Christian schools can become a model for other communities in implementing ecophilia and strengthening daily spirituality through concrete actions that reflect love and concern for the environment.
Abstrak
Pendidikan agama Kristen di Indonesia harus mengintegrasikan konsep ecophilia (cinta kasih terhadap alam) untuk mengatasi krisis lingkungan yang semakin parah. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembang-kan strategi implementasi ecophilia dalam pendidikan kristiani dan meng-evaluasi dampaknya terhadap sikap dan perilaku siswa, serta kolaborasi seluruh komunitas sekolah dalam praktik ramah lingkungan. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif melalui analisis tematik, penelitian ini menemukan bahwa integrasi ecophilia dalam kurikulum dan aktivitas sekolah menunjukkan peningkatan kesadaran ekologis dan pembentukan karakter siswa yang peduli lingkungan. Komunitas sekolah, melalui par-tisipasi aktif dalam program lingkungan, menjadi agen perubahan yang efektif, mencerminkan iman yang terwujud dalam tindakan nyata. Hasil penelitian ini memberikan kerangka kerja konkret untuk mengintegrasi-kan tanggung jawab ekologis ke dalam spiritualitas keseharian dalam pen-didikan agama Kristen, menciptakan generasi yang bertanggung jawab secara ekologis dan spiritual. Melalui pendekatan ini, sekolah Kristen dapat menjadi model bagi komunitas lainnya dalam menerapkan ecophilia dan memperkuat spiritualitas sehari-hari melalui tindakan nyata yang mencerminkan kasih dan kepedulian terhadap lingkungan
Bromo as the body of God: Savanna Blazes and Yadnya Kasada ethnobotany in the perspective of Pentecostal eco-pneumatology
This study is a response to growing concern about the accumulation of ecological crises and other troubling bio-geological changes that have occurred recently on both a global and local scale. However, this conversation will be restricted to a local scale due to numerous constraints, particularly responding to the ecological tragedy of forest and land fires in the Bromo savanna in early September 2023. The thesis of this paper is that “Bromo as the body of God†can be an imaginative critique of a forest and land fire incident involving one of the Tengger tribe\u27s local wisdom of nature conservation known as the ethnobotany of the Yadnya Kasada ceremony and studied from the standpoint of Pentecostal Eco-pneumatology. To demonstrate this argument, I utilized a descriptive-analysis approach based chiefly on the works of a feminist eco-theologian named Sallie McFague, which was then interlaced with sharp insights from some Pentecostal/Charismatic (P/C) scholars. As a result, the metaphor of “Bromo as the Body of God†proposes a new ecological paradigm that simultaneously unites human tears, earth tears, and God\u27s tears. The sacred character of the earth as a manifestation of His body must compel efforts to manage, restore, and maintain the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park (Taman Nasional Bromo Tengger Semeru, TNBTS) region as a tangible representation of the need to care for the sustainability of the current environment
The Christian religious education and the Javanese tradition of theory and teaching method: Experiences from the Bible and Ki Hajar Dewantara
This study examines the intersection between Christian religious education and Javanese educational traditions, focusing on the theories and teaching methods found in the Bible and the philosophy of Ki Hajar Dewantara. The research highlights how biblical figures such as Abraham, Moses, David, Solomon, Nehemiah, Jesus, and Paul embodied educational principles that align with Dewantara’s education philosophy. Both traditions emphasize holistic education, character formation, mentorship, and community-based learning. By drawing from both traditions, Christian religious education in Indonesia can integrate biblical teachings with local wisdom to create a more effective and contextually relevant learning system. This synthesis can strengthen character formation, intellectual growth, and spiritual development while fostering a deeper appreciation of cultural heritage. The study ultimately advocates for a dynamic, inclusive Christian education that respects biblical principles and indigenous educational philosophies
Harmoni spiritualitas dalam pastoral konseling: Sebuah kajian berbasis pendidikan kristiani
This article explores the integration of spirituality in pastoral counseling through a holistic Christian education approach. The research reveals that spirituality is not merely an additional element, but a fundamental dimension that animates the entire counseling process. A systematic literature review found significant gaps in pastoral counseling practices in Indonesia, where the spiritual dimension is often separated from the psychological approach. The article analyzes the theological foundation of spirituality as the basis for pastoral counseling, explores a holistic approach in integrating spiritual dimensions with psychological aspects, and formulates an implementation model of spiritual harmony in pastoral counselor education programs. Findings indicate that harmonizing spirituality in pastoral counseling requires a systematic approach through integrated curriculum, spiritual formation, supervision models based on theological reflection, and contextualization relevant to Indonesian realities. This model\u27s implementation impacts individual recovery and contributes to transforming faith communities and developing counseling approaches responsive to contemporary challenges.
Abstrak
Artikel ini mengeksplorasi integrasi spiritualitas dalam konseling pastoral melalui pendekatan pendidikan Kristiani yang holistik. Penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa spiritualitas bukan sekadar elemen tambahan, melainkan dimensi fundamental yang menjiwai seluruh proses konseling. Melalui kajian literatur sistematis, ditemukan adanya kesenjangan signifikan dalam praktik konseling pastoral di Indonesia, di mana dimensi spiritualitas seringkali dipisahkan dari pendekatan psikologis. Artikel menganalisis fondasi teologis spiritualitas sebagai landasan konseling pastoral, mengeksplorasi pendekatan holistik dalam mengintegrasikan dimensi spiritual dengan aspek psikologis, serta merumuskan model implementasi harmoni spiritualitas dalam program pendidikan konselor pastoral. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa harmonisasi spiritualitas dalam konseling pastoral membutuhkan pendekatan sistematis melalui kurikulum terintegrasi, pembentukan spiritual, model supervisi berbasis refleksi teologis, dan kontekstualisasi yang relevan dengan realitas Indonesia. Implementasi model ini tidak hanya berdampak pada pemulihan individu, tetapi juga berkontribusi pada transformasi komunitas iman dan pengembangan pendekatan konseling yang responsif terhadap tantangan kontemporer
Hospitalitas sebagai virtue kepemimpinan dalam meningkatkan kinerja guru pendidikan agama Kristen
This research aims to determine whether there is an influence of the principal\u27s leadership on teacher performance at SMTK North Sulawesi. The research method used is associative quantitative research using non-random sampling, namely purposive sampling. Data on general and Christian principal leadership and teacher performance were obtained using a Likert measurement scale. The data analysis techniques used are simple regression analysis, T test and coefficient of determination. The research results show that there is a significant influence between classroom management on learning motivation for Christian Religious Education through the equation Y=32.821+0.828X with a correlation coefficient of 0.974. This means that the better the principal\u27s leadership, the higher the teacher\u27s performance. Furthermore, the results obtained from calculating the coefficient of determination show that there is an influence of the principal\u27s leadership on teacher performance of 93.2% and the remaining 6.8% is influenced by other factors not examined by researchers
We are friends: A case study of children’s tolerance experience in komunitas anak Sabtu Ceria to counter religious radicalism
Living in a multicultural society requires openness and acceptance of different people. Nevertheless, it takes work for radicals to open up, accept, and appreciate differences. Religious radicalism is a challenge that we still face today. Radicalism harms life, as occurred in several countries worldwide. Therefore, the spread of religious radicalism must be stopped, particularly for children as the future of the world. This article offers the concept of heterogeneous friendship as a powerful tool for children to open up and appreciate differences. Heterogeneous friendship becomes a hidden curriculum for children. By using a case study, it shows that through friendship with children from different backgrounds, children can share experiences and get to know each other more deeply. Thus, this experience in heterogeneous friendships is a robust learning process to foster and develop tolerance amid multicultural life
A theological analysis of the healing movement revival in Indonesia
Pentecostal and healing practices could not be separated in Pentecostal Theology because healing practices are the most phenomenal practice in the Pentecostal tradition. This practice is essential regarding the phenomenal growth of Pentecostal Churches worldwide. Especially in the context of Pentecostal churches in Indonesia, I will describe how the Pentecostal churches grew so fast that the healing revival impacted them. I will give my analytical critics of this phenomenon through the discussion with the works of literature available and bring my suggestion and contribution to Pentecostal Theology regarding the vital doctrine of Pentecostal, which is the healing practices
Gereja metaverse: Memetakan tantangan dan peluang gereja di era post-digital
Having a different world in virtual reality is nothing new. However, the rapid development of such a world, often known as the metaverse, has caught many peoples’ attention, including believers. Even in its earliest stage of development, the metaverse has already attracted many interested stakeholders and investors as it promises to open up many possibilities and offers many other opportunities. Of course, it does not come without any negative aspects. Yet, like any previous technological advancements, one should assess its weight to determine the appropriate response. This paper addresses whether the metaverse should be seen as a threat or an opportunity, especially by the church. The authors hope that this writing will help the church realize this coming world in the near future and prepare as soon as possible to anticipate this revolutionary disruption. Hopefully, The church can provide spiritual care for the “real†people behind and within this virtual reality. AbstrakKonsep tentang adanya dunia virtual bukanlah suatu hal baru. Kini, perkembangan yang pesat dari terwujudnya dunia virtual tersebut, yang sering dikenal dengan sebutan metaverse, telah menarik perhatian banyak orang termasuk orang percaya. Bahkan pada tahap awal pengembangannya, metaverse telah menarik banyak stakeholder dan investor karena janji akan banyaknya peluang dan kemungkinan lain yang terbuka. Tentu saja itu dunia ini tidak datang tanpa aspek negatifnya. Namun, seperti kemajuan teknologi sebelumnya, seseorang harus terlebih dahulu menilai bobotnya untuk menentukan respons yang tepat. Penelitian ini mencoba menjawab pertanyaan apakah metaverse perlu dilihat sebagai ancaman atau peluang khususnya oleh gereja Tuhan. Penulis berharap penelitian ini pada akhirnya akan menyadarkan gereja akan datangnya metaverse dalam waktu dekat sehingga dapat melakukan persiapan sebaik mungkin untuk mengantisipasi disrupsi revolusioner ini. Gereja diharapkan dapat memberikan pelayanan spiritual yang diperlukan oleh orang-orang "nyata" yang ada di belakang dan di dalam realitas virtual ini
Inclusive values: Foundations of religious education for multicultural harmonious life
Harmonious living in a diverse society presents complex challenges due to the potential for significant conflict. Radicalism, intolerance, and social conflict often occur, especially concerning religious pluralism. Educational institutions, which are expected to build the nation\u27s character, are also prone to religion\u27s education labeling. Hence, Christian religious education had two choices: strengthen dogmatic teaching or embrace inclusive values. This research focuses on the importance of inclusive values as the foundation for Christian Religious Education. Through descriptive analysis of various literature, this study discusses the theological basis for inclusive values in the context of the Church and its implications for Christian religious education. The research results show that the value of inclusion is based on the reflection of the incarnation and the example of encountering dialogue, which forms the foundation for inclusive Christian Religious Education
Teologi kerja: Kerja sebagai realitas panggilan yang berpusat pada Allah
Various work morality issues relate to job satisfaction and comfort. Work is also, in reality, associated with social status. As a result, work is only seen as a certain necessity. On the other hand, work is God\u27s mandate to humans who are given the power to maintain the integrity of His creation. This research will aim to outline: first, the definition of work theology in its context; second, the attitude and calling to work in carrying out God\u27s mandate; and third, the reality of work that is centered on God. In response to this mandate and calling, work theology shows that work attitudes and callings should be centered on God. The research method uses a qualitative approach that describes literature from several theories related to work theology. The result of the discussion in this article is that work theology builds a human perspective to view work in the light of God\u27s insight, purpose, and involvement. This research concludes that work is a calling in the form of acceptance, care, and understanding as God\u27s gift to humans. A calling to work is a mandate to continue God\u27s work. AbstrakBerbagai persoalan moralitas kerja berkaitan dengan kepuasan dan kenyamanan kerja. Kerja juga dalam realitasnya dikaitkan dengan status sosial. Akibatnya, kerja hanya dipandang sebagai sebuah kebutuhan tertentu. Di sisi lain, kerja adalah mandat Allah kepada mansusia yang diberi kuasa untuk menjaga keutuhan ciptaan-Nya. Tujuan penelitan ini akan menguraikan: pertama, definisi teologi kerja dalam konteksnya; kedua, sikap dan panggilan kerja dalam melaksanakan mandat Allah; ketiga, realitas kerja yang berpusat pada Allah. Sebagai respon akan mandat dan panggilan itu, teologi kerja menunjukkan bahwa sikap dan panggilan kerja seyogianya berpusat pada Allah. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif yang menguraikan literatur dari beberapa teori terkait dengan teologi kerja. Hasil pembahasan dalam tulisan ini adalah teologi kerja membangun perspektif manusia untuk memandang pekerjaan dalam wawasan, tujuan dan keterlibatan Allah. Penelitian ini membangun kesimpulan bahwa pekerjaan adalah panggilan dalam bentuk penerimaan, pemeliharaan dan pemahaman sebagai anugerah Allah untuk manusia. Panggilan kerja dimaknai sebagai mandat melanjutkan karya Allah. Â
