THE USE OF GEN Z SLANG BY DIGITAL INFLUENCER "AWKARIN" ON HER SOCIAL MEDIA: A SOCIO-SEMANTIC STUDY
Generation Z increasingly relies on slang as a linguistic resource to express identity, negotiate belonging, and build intimacy in digital communication, making it an important site of sociolinguistic and semantic change. However, most existing studies focus on broad usage patterns rather than examining how individual influencers strategically use slang to construct their online personas. Addressing this gap, this study analyzes Awkarin’s use of Gen Z slang on Instagram and YouTube through a qualitative sociolinguistic and semantic approach. The analysis identifies various slang forms—such as acronyms, neologisms, semantic shifts, and code-mixing—and their communicative functions in shaping influencer–audience interaction. Findings reveal that slang serves not only as informal vocabulary but as a strategic resource for identity performance, emotional expression, and audience engagement. This study contributes to sociolinguistic and semantic research by showing how influencers act as linguistic mediators who adapt and circulate Gen Z slang within Indonesian digital culture, highlighting slang as both a social practice and a site of meaning innovation
Early Detection of Diabetes Using a Machine Learning Model Based on Laboratory Data
Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease whose prevalence continues to increase worldwide, with a projected number of sufferers reaching 643 million by 2030. Early detection of diabetes is crucial to prevent serious complications such as cardiovascular disease, kidney failure, and nerve damage. This study aims to compare the performance of four machine learning algorithms (Random Forest, Support Vector Machine, Logistic Regression, and K-Nearest Neighbors) in detecting diabetes based on clinical parameters, and to identify the most significant predictor variables. The study uses the Pima Indians Diabetes dataset consisting of 768 samples with 8 predictor variables (number of pregnancies, glucose, blood pressure, skin thickness, insulin, BMI, diabetes pedigree function, and age). Data is divided into a training set (70%) and a testing set (30%) using stratified sampling. Data preprocessing includes handling missing values, feature scaling using StandardScaler, and handling imbalanced data using the SMOTE technique. Performance evaluation uses accuracy, precision, recall, F1-score, and Area Under Curve (AUC-ROC) metrics. Results show that the Random Forest model achieves the best performance with an accuracy of 81.8%, precision of 79.2%, recall of 78.5%, F1-score of 78.8%, and AUC of 0.88. Support Vector Machine achieves an accuracy of 78.0%, Logistic Regression 76.0%, and K-Nearest Neighbors 74.5%. Feature importance analysis identifies glucose (28.5%), BMI (19.8%), and age (16.5%) as the most significant predictors in diabetes detection. The Random Forest model produces 17 false negatives and 12 false positives from 231 testing samples. The study concludes that Random Forest is the most effective algorithm for early diabetes detection with good accuracy and superior interpretability through feature importance

SOCIAL AWARENESS IN PRAMOEDYA ANANTA TOER’S NOVEL THIS EARTH OF MANKIND
This study examines the representation of social awareness in Pramoedya Ananta Toer’s novel This Earth of Mankind, using Sheldon’s framework. Through qualitative descriptive analysis, the study identifies three dimensions of social awareness—cognition, social environment, and goals and motives—reflected in the characters of Minke, Nyai Ontosoroh, and Tuan de la Croix. The findings highlight Pramoedya’s critique of colonial social hierarchies and the awakening of native consciousness. Twelve data were collected to support the statement about social awareness and its aspects found in the novel. The results of this study are that there are three aspects of social awareness found in the novel This Earth of Humanity, namely cognition, social environment, and goals and motives. The cognition can be seen through Minke’s character, which is displayed through his disbelief in Astrology and superstition, his good process of absorbing information, and his way of thinking critically about the problems of the indigenous people. The social environment can be seen through social awareness of the backwardness of natives’ behavior and social awareness of native status towards Europeans. Goals and motives can be seen through the goals of Minke and Tuan de la Croix, who wanted to make the natives more advanced and developed, and Nyai Ontosoroh's goals for Annelies
INHERITED SHAME AND IDENTITY FRAGMENTATION IN KENZABURŌ ŌE’S THE SILENT CRY: A FREUDIAN PSYCHOANALYTIC APPROACH
This article examines the psychological disintegration of Takashi, the central character in Kenzaburō Ōe’s The Silent Cry, through the lens of Freudian psychoanalysis. Drawing on Sigmund Freud’s structural theory of the psyche—particularly the dynamics of the id, ego, and superego—this study explores how identity crisis, generational trauma, and defense mechanisms shape Takashi’s internal conflict and destructive behavior. The analysis reveals that Takashi’s revolutionary actions are not driven by coherent political ideology, but by inherited shame, repressed grief, and the failure of ego mediation. His descent into violence and mania is interpreted as a symbolic enactment of psychological collapse, wherein inherited guilt and unresolved trauma override rationality and self-regulation. The superego, as portrayed in the novel, functions not only as a moral compass but as a punitive legacy passed through family and cultural memory. This study also highlights the interplay of defense mechanisms—such as projection, rationalization, denial, and sublimation—that ultimately fail to contain his psychic distress. By interpreting The Silent Cry as a narrative of personal and national trauma, this paper demonstrates how literature can serve as a site for exploring deep psychological wounds, especially those stemming from unspoken histories and familial burden
