Analysis of Factors Affecting the Aptitude and Performance of Salesperson
Get PDFITの普及によりHRテックと呼ばれる新しい人事活動が出現し，営業員の採用・配属等の人事活動にも変化の兆しが出てきている。新しい人事活動を実践するためには，データ分析に基づく知見の蓄積が求められている。それと同時に，従来からの職業選択に関する理論を概観することが重要である。本研究では，職業選択や職業適性について，これまでの研究の代表的な学説や研究の内容を概観することと，データ分析による個人資質と業績の関係についての知見を獲得することを目的とした。本研究の前半部分では，職業選択に関する既存理論の概要を整理した。後半部分では，営業職に対する適性と業績について，Web 調査によって収集したデータを用いたロジスティック回帰分析を行い，余暇行動ならびに個人属性との関係を明らかにした。分析の結果，営業職への適性に関しては，精神的余暇行動，性別，肉体的余暇行動の順に影響度合いに差があることがわかった。業績に関しては，休息よりも活動的な余暇行動をしている人の方が業績が高いことがわかった。departmental bulletin pape
EIGO Culture and Popular Geopolitics in Japan : Negotiating Cultural Identities Through a Contingent and Ironic Language in a Liquid Modern World
Get PDF現在のリキッド化する世界の中で，非英語圏日本のローカルな「英語文化（”EIGO Culture”）」は否応なくグローバルな「英語の文化（Multiple Cultures of Global/Translocal/Transcultural Englishes）」へと液状化し続けている。ハイカルチャー領域で権威化される英語（Standard English）を用いたトランスカルチャラル・コミュニケーション。それに対抗しポピュラーカルチャー領域で承認される英語（World Englishes）を通じたトランスカルチャラル・コミュニケーション。日本の一般英語学習者・ユーザーはそのどちらか領域のEnglishを軸に自らの「文化的アイデンティティ」交渉を行うのではなく，常にそのどちらにも領域にも帰属しない「位置取り（positioning）」によって自らの「英語文化（EIGO Culture）」的アイデンティティの序列化・固定化・烙印化の回避を続けていくことが重要かつ可能な時代となっている。情報技術の急速な発展によって生産消費者（prosumer）となった現在の日本の英語学習者も自国語と英語（EIGO/English/World Englishes）を含めた複数の言語をもって，「英語」がもたらす「安定（＝連帯）」と「不安定（＝自由）」の両空間を双方向に往来し，英語学習者の言語的身体感覚（linguistic bodies）の中心を学校の外のポピュラーカルチャーの「共同的状況」の位相へと移動させ，国内で権威化された「英語文化」の流動化を一層加速させていくことが肝要である。そこではリベラル・アイロニストの「位置取り」戦略を言語実践モデルの1つとしながら，多言語文化とパラレルな「対話」の不断の継続がその必要十分条件となっている。departmental bulletin pape
On the Transitive and the Intransitive Verbs in English : “to screen” as an Example

To the non-native speakers of English, the underlined part ”has screened” appears to be a mistake for “has been screened,” which is not the case. The rationality of employing the active form instead of the passive one in the above sentence is pursued in terms of Jespersen’s（1949）idea of “activo-passive” and Lyons’（1968）idea of ergativity. Willingness to Communicate and Its Implications for English Language Teaching in EFL Contexts
Get PDFThis study is a contribution to a continued exploration of some of the factors responsible for second or foreign language learning. It is specifically an exhaustive examination of the true state of Japanese English learners’ Willingness to Communicate (WTC) in classrooms and attempts to investigate effective approaches to enhance learners’ WTC. My intention is to hypothesize that WTC within classrooms is influenced by whether students are extroverted or introverted, so that I can research the correlation between learners’ WTC and extroversion-introversion theory. Moreover, previous studies have suggested that affective factors, such as international posture and confidence are mostly responsible for WTC in second language learning.
Epistemologically, I employed a quantitative research methodology with two groups of university students in Japan: the freshmen and the fourth grade (seniors) students with the aid of questionnaires. My data suggests that students’ WTC is not influenced by whether students are extroverts or introverts. It strongly indicates a correlation between WTC and students’ other personality traits. Moreover, I discovered that the degree by which WTC is influenced by these other personality traits depends on the contexts of learning in the EFL classrooms. The data also confirms the veracity of international posture and confidence.
Therefore, the study suggests that the most effective approaches to enhance students’ WTC are to provide a variety of stimulating learning experiences for the students; to reduce students’ anxiety; to boost their confidence through positive feedback that places less emphasis on students’ errors and to conduct classes through invigorating eclectic mixture of methods and approaches that include task-based learning activities in small groups.departmental bulletin pape
Attempt of Legislating DACA under the Trump Administration : Confrontation on Immigration Policy in the Federal Congress
Get PDFアメリカの連邦議会は，2017年にトランプ政権が発表した「子供時代に入国した者に対する（国外追放）措置の延期」（DACA）の廃止提案を受けて，DACAの法制化を検討し，上下両院でDACAの法制化を盛り込んだ移民改革法案が提案された。2018年には両院でトランプも支持した法案の採決が行われたが，両院ともに共和党が多数党であったにもかかわらず，法案は可決されなかった。多くの民主党議員が反対したことと合わせて一部の共和党保守派の議員もこれらの法案に反対した。本稿は，トランプ政権が支持したDACAの法制化法案が，共和党多数派の議会の下でなぜ成立しなかったのかという点について，法案作成の経緯と法案に反対した共和党議員の動向，理由から考察する。法案作成の経緯について，上下両院ともに見られた，民主党や共和党穏健派による超党派での法案作成の試みとそれを阻む保守派の動向を追うことで考察する。また，保守的団体やシンクタンクによる議員の採点ならびに議員の投票行動を基に算出されたイデオロギー・スコアを参照することで，反対票を投じた議員たちの政治的立場の分布を分析する。こうした考察を踏まえて，DACAの法制化に反対した共和党保守派議員たちは，子供の時にアメリカに入国したという限定的な対象であっても，非正規滞在移民の合法化が含まれている限りDACAには賛成できないという立場を保持していることを論ずる。departmental bulletin pape
