Learners’ Self-evaluation of the Reading Curriculum Incorporating Extensive Reading Activities at Preparatory Educational Institutions : Analysis of Post-Semester Surveys
Get PDF本稿は，予備教育機関で行われた日本語授業内多読活動の概要を紹介し，学習者が授業内多読についてどのようにとらえているか，アンケートによって明らかにすることを目的とする。学期終了後のアンケートをもとに，漢字圏学習者・非漢字圏学習者・全体に分け，分析・考察した。その結果，JLPTやEJUなどの長文を読む際に漢字圏のグループで有効であることがわかった。また，全体としても多読活動は，概ね好意的に受け止められていることが示された。読解カリキュラムに多読を導入し，全クラスで多読を行う取り組みは先駆的であるが，このカリキュラムに改編されてから日が浅いため，今後は更なる検証が必要である。departmental bulletin pape
Investigating the Effectiveness of Cooperative Learning Through Peer Teaching in Remedial English Grammar Classes : A Qualitative Analysis of Open-ended Responses
Get PDF本研究は，大学リメディアル教育における英文法授業において，学生同士が「教え合う」協同学習の効果を分析したものである。近年，基礎的な英語力が十分に備わっていない学生が増加しており，従来の受動的な講義形式では学習意欲や基礎力の向上が難しいという課題が浮き彫りになっている。こうした状況に対応するため，学生が主体的に学び，互いに教え合う「ピア・ラーニング」を1年間の英文法授業に導入した。授業では，学生が教える役割と教えられる役割を交互に経験し，文法知識を共有・確認しながら学習を進める形式を採用した。最終授業で1年間の学びや授業への意見を自由記述式アンケートで収集し，SCAT手法を用いて質的に分析した。その結果，以下の知見が得られた。（1）教える過程で自身の理解が深まり，学習内容の定着が促進される可能性が示唆された。（2）インプットとアウトプットの反復を通じて英文法知識のリフレクションが促され，他の授業への応用も可能になった。（3）学生間の協力と相互作用を通じて学びの楽しさが引き出され，学習意欲の向上につながった。また，教える活動を通じて苦手意識を克服し，自己効力感の向上も確認された。本研究の結果，「教え合う」協同学習がリメディアル英文法授業において，自己効力感や学習意欲を向上させる点で効果的であることが示唆された。departmental bulletin pape

Exploring Livelihood Strategies in Rural Africa Artisanal and Small-Scale Miners’ Mineral Selection Dynamic
No full textThis article explores the relationship between livelihood strategies and mineral extraction among artisanal and small-scale miners in rural Africa, specifically examining the choice between a development mineral, considered low-value, and gold ore, regarded as a high-value. Based on fieldwork conducted in the Mvomero District, Tanzania, the study examines how miners mitigate risks and uphold their livelihoods through their choice of mineral to mine. The study underscores that development mineral miners prioritize stability and risk mitigation, relying on strong social connections within their villages and engaging in agriculture alongside mining. In contrast, gold miners are motivated by the pursuit of quick wealth transformation and exploit extensive social networks both within and beyond the mining village to mitigate livelihood risks. The findings suggest that miners strategically balance their livelihoods with mining activities, adapting to changing social and economic environment and varying risks. While the study focuses on specific miner types in Tanzania, it sheds light on broader trends in mineral-rich areas in Africa, where miners flexibly and strategically sustain their livelihoods amidst challenges in their rural living alongside artisanal and small-scale mining.departmental bulletin pape

The effect of microbial inoculant application on the rice growth
Get PDFYumebio is one of the microbial inoculant that promotes the growth of paddy rice. Field trials were conducted in cold climate Hokkaido, Japan, to determine how Yumebio promote the above-ground growth of rice plants. In addition, root box experiments were conducted to clarify the effects of several microbial inoculant materials on the number of fungi and root system morphology, and to clarify the differences in application effects between rice varieties. When rice seedlings treated with Yumebio were transplanted, the yield of rice increased in successive 3 years, and the average of the all years was 112% of that of the non-treated rice. The number of tillers and panicles were increased by the application of Yumebio, and it was assumed that the effect became more pronounced when the nitrogen nutrient conditions in the soil decreased. Root box experiments showed that the application of Yumebio increased the number of spores in seedlings, and that the degree of increase varied among rice varieties. The increase in the number of spores in seedlings were greater in the two cultivars which had low numbers of indigenous origin spores in the seedlings. The relationships between nodal root length and the degree of increase in the numbers of spore with Yumebio application positively correlated, which showed that the cultivars with longer root lengths tended to increase the number of spores by the microbial inoculant.departmental bulletin pape

Get PDF明治16年に司法省より発行された『法律語彙初稿』は、最初の仏日法律用語辞典であり、長崎唐通事出身の鄭永寧によって編まれた。この辞典はフランス語の法律概念に新しい字を作って当てたもので、延べ223個の新字がある。辞典の巻頭にある「音釈字例」では、フランスの法律用語の音に漢字を当てつつ、それを集約して新字を作る過程が説明されている。本稿では、それらの新字を中心に、その造字法について考察した。その結果、新字は、表音的にフランス語の原音を最大限に表しているが、漢字従来の重要な意符を表さないという致命的な欠点があることがわかった。よって、本稿では、新字を「音訳専用文字」として位置付けた。departmental bulletin pape

Get PDF米国では19世紀後半から20世紀初頭にかけて第三次覚醒運動の思潮（＝アメリカ精神）が生起していた。同時代の日本の「英学思想」（＝日本精神）の中には，その「アメリカ精神」を通じてキリスト教神秘主義思想を〈土着化〉し受容する文化的素地がすでに出来上がっていた。その時期に英学の訓練を受けた森有禮と長澤鼎は密航留学先の英国から米国に渡り，神秘主義的キリスト教の流れを汲んだ新興宗教に入信し，修行と研究を通して東西文明の「宗教」エトス（道徳・倫理）の融合・超越を密かに試みていたのであった。彼らが行き着いた〈宗教哲学〉の中には当時の日本の「英学思想」の心性が如実に反映されており，それは彼ら自身の「信仰」上の告白を記録した英文言説の中において裏付けることができる。キリスト教神秘主義思想を「日本的」に受容しながら，森と長澤は極めてシンプルで〈実用〉的な「普遍宗教」の信徒になっていた。同胞愛を信奉し，個人と国家の「新生」を希求する宗教哲学をもった2人は，共にロマン主義的なプラグマティスト（＝神秘主義的な「日本教徒」）であったといえるのである。departmental bulletin pape
