No full textThe present paper, which is divided into four parts, analyses the most characteristic features of the Celtiberian language in the framework of Celtic dialectology. In the first two parts, we outline the general criteria for the evaluation of the linguistic data of a language fragmentarily recorded, as well as the contribution which can be made to the dialectology of the Celtic languages from Celtiberian and continental Celtic. In the third part, we analyse the features which Celtiberian shares with the other Celtic languages and the innovations which it presents with respect to other Indoeuropean languages. Besides the traditional phonological and morphological arguments, aspects of the lexicon are also discussed, especially the designations for the name of ‘son’. Finally, in the last part, the special archaisms of Celtiberian relative to other Celtic languages are evaluated, together with the historical consequences which derive from the early separation of Hispanic Celtic from the general Celtic community.No disponibl

Strabo’s statements about the stages building up the colonization process and about the debated problem of the δίπολις, improve their chronology and become more precise through the new epigraphic and archaeological findings.No disponibl

The authoress tries to explain the conditions in which the expression has two different meanings, namely the so-called «deontic» and «inferential», and the relations between mood and the modal value of the construction.El presente trabajo se centra en la estructura ἒχω + infinitivo e intenta deslindar, en primer lugar, los usos de la misma en los que el verbo en forma personal se comporta como un verbo modal y, en segundo lugar, si en estos casos resultan posibles en griego los dos tipos de uso: deónticos e inferenciales que se admiten para otras construcciones similares en otras lenguas

ψυχή and λόγος in Heraclitus B45 and B115 (Diels-Kranz)
No full textψυχή and λόγος are discussed with special reference to their occurrence in Heraclitus fragments 845 and B115 (Diels-Kranz, Fragmente der Vorsokratiker, Berlin 1950). The genetival relationship in these fragments, ψυχή-λόγος, implies neither possession, origin, nor definition. Evidence from the fragments in general does not suggest that ψυχή and λόγος are identical. They are functionally distinct though it is difficult to suppose ψυχή capable of rational thought without λόγος. They may be regarded as dimensions of the individual human agent, having indefinitely variable mutual relationship: for instance a high value of λόγος would indicate a high level of developed consciousness.No disponibl
