Get PDFThe paper deals with the editorial and lexicographical consequences of a revision of the role to be played in the edition of Nicander' s poems by the manuscript Parisinus Bibliothecae Nationalis Supplementum graecum 147. From a renewed examination, it appeared indeed that the text of the Parisian codex results from an erudite revision, made at the end of Antiquity/beginning of the Proto-byzantine epoch. Instead of presenting thus a better text than the consensus of all the other manuscripts, it gives a lecture of Nicander' s poems, the elements of which have been further inserted in the text. By means of the presentation of cases, we stress the fact, analysing above all its impact on the edition and the lexicology of Nicander's poems.No disponible

Get PDFTraditionally, the attempt to determine the function of the shorter Homeric hymns and to ascribe them to a precise literary genre was accomplished mostly through internal analysis and the examination of the secondary sources. In this paper I will try to argue for the need to compare these poems with other literary manifestations exhibiting comparable elements. This way, we are immediately led to noticing the similarities between the above and the genre of the cultual prayers and the archaic proemia. Once I have established: a) the relation between the short Hymns and the prayers, and b) the proemiatic character that can be assigned to at least some of these Hymns, I will try to determine the occasion on which they were performed and, in the case of the proemiatic Hymns, what kind of work or performance they would introduce. Finally, the theogonic nature of these Hymns will be briefly discussed.No disponible
La evolución de un género: elementos estructurales de los epigramas dedicados a animales de Ánite de Tegea
Get PDFThis paper tries to analyse the evolution of funerary epigram, considering the specific ways of apparition of two of its structural elements (the deceased, and the offerer) in the epigrams devoted to animals by Anyte from Tegea. Along the discussion some specific issues concerning these epigrams are to be dealt with, particularly the problem about their inscriptionality. The analysis focusses on the degree of variation in Anyte's funerary epigrams with regard to the traditional epitaph (both inscriptional and literary), and the degree of variation in Anyte's (and her contemporaries') epigrams devoted to animals with regard to funerary epigrams devoted to human beings.No disponible
