The Effectiveness of Range of Motion Exercise in Reducing Serum Uric Acid Levels in Individuals with Hyperuricemia : a Non-Pharmacological Strategy for Preventing Cardiovascular and Renal Complications: Exploring the Role of Physical Activity in Managing Metabolic Risk

    No full text
Hyperuricemia has been associated with various health conditions, including hypertension and kidney disease. However, the causal relationship between uric acid and the development of these complications remains a topic of debate. Some studies suggest that elevated uric acid levels may play a direct role in the pathogenesis of hypertension through inflammatory mechanisms, endothelial dysfunction, and oxidative stress. In contrast, other studies argue that uric acid is merely a risk biomarker without a direct pathophysiological effect. In this context, physical activity has been extensively studied as a non-pharmacological intervention for arthritis and as a means to improve cardiovascular health. This study aims to explore the effectiveness of physical activity, particularly Range of Motion (ROM) exercises, in reducing serum uric acid levels in individuals with hyperuricemia. The methodology involved an eight-week ROM intervention with an evaluation of serum uric acid levels before and after the intervention. The results indicated that regular physical activity significantly contributed to the reduction of serum uric acid levels (p < 0.001), which may be associated with increased uric acid excretion through the kidneys. These findings support the role of physical activity as a potential strategy for managing hyperuricemia while also providing further insights into the relationship between uric acid, hypertension, and kidney health

This research aims to determine the description of emotional maturity in nurses at the Cut Meutia Regional General Hospital, North Aceh. The research method used is a quantitative method with a descriptive approach, namely using univariate analysis by describing the level of emotional maturity based on aspects. The subjects in this study were one hundred and fortyseven nurses who were obtained based on the purposive sampling method. The results of the study showed that the majority of nurses at the Cut Meutia Regional General Hospital, North Aceh had low emotional maturity of 50.3%, meaning that the majority of nurses at the Cut Meutia Regional General Hospital did not have a stable emotional response, selectivity in differentiating the level of emotional response, and response delays. Furthermore, in measuring emotional maturity, the highest aspects are the capacity for balance aspect and the ability to adapt, while the lowest in measuring emotional maturity are the ability to control anger, the independence aspect, the ability to accept reality, the readiness to respond, and the empathy aspect

Effective Data Preprocessing in Data Science: From Method Selection to Domain-Specific Optimization

    Get PDF
In the era of big data and artificial intelligence, data preprocessing has emerged as a critical step in the data science pipeline, influencing the quality, performance, and reliability of machine learning models. Despite its importance, the diversity of techniques, challenges, and evolving practices necessitate a structured understanding of this domain. This study conducts a systematic literature review (SLR) to explore current data preprocessing techniques, their domain-specific applications, associated challenges, and emerging trends. A total of 21 peer-reviewed articles from 2016 to 2024 were analyzed using well-defined inclusion and exclusion criteria, with a focus on machine learning and big data contexts. The results reveal that normalization, data cleaning, feature selection, and dimensionality reduction are the most commonly applied techniques. Key challenges identified include handling missing values, high dimensionality, and imbalanced data. Moreover, recent trends such as automated preprocessing (AutoML), privacy-preserving methods, and scalable preprocessing for distributed systems are gaining momentum. The review concludes that while traditional methods remain foundational, there is a shift toward adaptive and intelligent preprocessing strategies to meet the growing complexity of data environments. This study offers valuable insights for researchers and practitioners aiming to optimize data preparation processes in modern data science workflow

    Get PDF
Female education is a critical factor influencing social and economic development in Afghanistan, yet numerous cultural, economic, and infrastructural barriers continue to limit girls’ access to education. This study explores the impact of female education on community development in Afghanistan, aiming to identify the key benefits, challenges, and effective strategies to enhance educational access for women. The research employed a quantitative methodology, collecting data through structured questionnaires distributed electronically via WhatsApp, email, and Facebook. A total of 110 female students aged 20 to 25 from Vision Higher Education and Research Institute, representing Medical, Computer Science, and Education faculties, participated in the study. The findings indicate that female education significantly contributes to leadership opportunities, poverty reduction, improved health outcomes, and economic growth within Afghan communities. However, cultural norms and traditions remain the most significant barriers, alongside security concerns and economic hardship. Participants identified building more schools, promoting e-learning, and community awareness programs as effective methods to improve female educational access. Additionally, technology plays a multifaceted role in facilitating flexible learning, expanding educational resources, and empowering women through entrepreneurial skill development. In conclusion, the study underscores that female education is a powerful catalyst for community development in Afghanistan but is constrained by complex social and infrastructural challenges. Addressing these obstacles requires comprehensive strategies that combine infrastructure development, technological integration, and socio-cultural engagement. These findings provide valuable insights for policymakers, educators, and stakeholders committed to advancing female education and fostering sustainable development in Afghanistan
