This research was conducted in Domas Village, Pontang District, Serang Regency, Banten Province, which is a milkfish farming pond. The purpose of this study was to analyze the abundance of microplastic particles in milkfish, identify the characteristics of microplastic particles in milkfish and identify the types of polymers that make up microplastics. This study aims to provide information about microplastics in milkfish in Domas Village which can be used as a development of science about microplastic pollution. The methods used in sampling are purposive sampling and descriptive analysis in identifying microplastics. The results showed that milkfish samples, sediment and water had been contaminated with microplastics of fiber, film and fragments with different abundances at each station. The highest abundance of microplastics in meat organs had a value of 14 particles/ind of film type at station 2, the highest abundance in water came from film type with a value of 5 particles/ml, and the highest abundance in sediment came from film type with a value of 6 particles/g. The results of the FTIR test conducted showed that there were 2 types of polymers, namely polycarbonate (PC) and acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS). Keywords: FTIR; Microplastic; Milkfis

Giving a combination of snails (Achatina fulica) and coconut dregs on the growth and protein content of maggots (Hermetia illucens)

    Get PDF
This study aims to determine the effect of providing a combination of snails and coconut dregs as feed on the growth and protein content of Black soldier Fly (BSF) maggots. The method used is an experiment with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of five treatments and three replications. The treatments consist of: P1 (100% snails), P2 (75% snails: 25% coconut dregs), P3 (50%: 50%), P4 (25%: 75%), and P5 (100% coconut dregs). Maggot maintenance was carried out for 14 days with feeding carried out every 2 days in the morning at 10:00. The research data observed included Weight, Thickness, Length which were analyzed statistically using the ANOVA test and the test was continued with the Least Significant Difference (LSD) test, and the Kruskal wallis test if the data was not normal, temperature and humidity, Feed consumption, Specific growth rate (SGR), Waste reduction index (WRI), and Protein content and water content were analyzed using the automatic kjeldahl test. The results of the study showed that the provision of snail and coconut dregs feed had a very significant effect on the growth of maggots (P <0.05) both in weight and thickness, but had no significant effect (P>0.05) on the growth of maggot length. Treatment P1 (100% snail) gave the best results with an average weight of 0.09 g, a length of 13.4 mm, and the highest protein content of 27.49%. Treatment P5 (100% coconut dregs) showed the lowest results in all main parameters. It was concluded that snail feed was more optimal in supporting the growth and protein content of BSF maggots. The high animal protein content and soft texture are the main reasons, which show the potential of snails as a highly nutritious alternative feed for BSF maggot cultivation. Get PDF
AbstracThis study aims to compare the financial performance between Islamic banks and conventional banks in Indonesia using key financial ratios such as Return on Assets (ROA), Return on Equity (ROE), Non-Performing Loan (NPL), and Non-Performing Financing (NPF). The objects of this study are Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) as the representative of Islamic banks, and Bank Central Asia (BCA) as the representative of conventional banks. The data used are derived from the annual financial statements of both banks over a certain period. The results of the study show that although BCA, as a conventional bank, tends to have larger assets and higher profitability, BSI demonstrates better financial stability, reflected by a lower NPF ratio. This indicates that Islamic banks, with a focus on asset-based financing, have more cautious risk management and are better able to manage financing risks effectively. In contrast, BCA, as a conventional bank, is more vulnerable to interest rate fluctuations, as evidenced by a relatively higher NPL ratio. This study is expected to provide insights for regulators, academics, and banking practitioners in formulating policies to enhance the performance and stability of the banking sector in Indonesia. Keywords: Islamic Banks, Conventional Banks, Indonesian Banking Secto

Based on data from LKPD of districts/cities in South Sumatra over the last 10 years, the mean level of financial independence in the region is around 11%, with significant disparities between regions. Palembang City has the highest level of independence at 49%, while most other regions have levels below 12%. These findings indicate that subnational financial independence is affected by various determinants. To analyze this, the study applies a fixed-effect panel data regression model using EViews version 13. The research demonstrates that the size of subnational government has a positive and significant influence. In contrast, Leverage and subnational incentive funds have no significant effect. Capital expenditure exerts a negative and significant influence. Simultaneously, the analysis reveals that the four variables exert a significant effect on subnational financial independence. This finding indicates that any policy on government activities significantly impacts the financial independence of the government
