Abstract
Automated Short Answer Scoring (SAS) has the potential to significantly reduce the man-
ual grading burden in educational settings, support large-scale examinations, and enhance
e-learning environments. Despite advancements with transformer-based models achieving
near-human performance, several challenges hinder the practical adoption of SAS systems:
scarcity of comprehensive datasets, high costs associated with training data preparation, and
concerns over scoring quality.
This dissertation addresses these challenges by first expanding existing datasets and creat-
ing new ones to enrich the resources available for SAS research. Specifically, we augmented
the Yozemi-SAS dataset with 26 new prompts and 13,000 additional annotations and devel-
oped the Benesse-SAS dataset from scratch, comprising 17 prompts and 48,600 annotations.
Both datasets include detailed rubrics essential for conducting wide variety of SAS research,
representing the largest collections in the SAS field.
Leveraging these datasets, we introduce a two-step cross-prompt training approach to
minimize the annotation costs of training data. Our two-phasemethod involves pre-finetuning
models on existing rubrics and answers before finetuning them for new target prompts. Ex-
perimental results demonstrate that this approach significantly enhances score prediction
accuracy, especially when in-prompt training data is limited.
To ensure scoring quality in practical applications, we propose a human-in-the-loop SAS
frameworkwhere automated scoring systems collaborate with human graders. By employing
confidence estimation methods, the system automatically scores responses deemed highly re-
liable, while uncertain cases are reviewed by humans. Experiments on English and Japanese
datasets confirm that this framework effectively controls scoring quality while reducing hu-
man grading workload.
Through these contributions, the dissertation bridges the gap between state-of-the-art
SAS research and the practical demands of educational settings, promoting the adoption of
automated scoring.

This dissertation presents the development of a surface encoder aims three motivations of a wider detection 
range of out-of-plane Z-axis displacement measurement and development of a new surface encoder with less non-
common optical path and finally the proposal for three-axis surface encoder that only uses commercial linear scale 
gratings instead of a two-axis scale grating. 
In chapter 1, background and the motivations of this research are presented. Position measurement of precision 
stages is the overall background of this research. Requirements, conventional position sensors, state-of-the-art surface 
encoder technology as well as current problems and challenges are introduced step by step. Aiming to solve the 
problems and challenges existing in the state-of-the-art surface encoders for position measurement of the precision 
stages, two motivations of this research are specified. The two motivations are proposal of a new surface encoder to 
expand the out-of-plane Z-axis measurement range, and proposal of a new surface encoder with less non-common 
optical path respectively. 
In chapter 2, firstly, a new optical configuration for the surface encoder capable of measuring the X-directional in-
plane displacement and the Z-directional out-of-plane displacement of a scale grating has been proposed. To achieve a 
long Z-directional measuring range, a Fizeau-type measurement method, which uses the interference signal of the 
zeroth-order diffraction beam from the scale grating and the reference beam from the transparent grating, has been 
employed, while the X-directional displacement measurement has been realized by utilizing the interference signal of 
the positive and negative first-order diffracted beams. A prototype surface encoder, which has been designed in a 
compact size of 110 mm (X) × 115 mm (Z) × 40 mm (Y), has been constructed, and the feasibility of the proposed 
measurement method has been verified in experiments. Experimental results have demonstrated that the developed 
surface encoder has good linearity for measurement of both the X- and Z-directional displacements with interpolation 
errors of ±1 nm and ±15 nm, respectively. The peak-to-valley amplitudes of crosstalk errors have been evaluated to be 13 
nm and 20 nm in the Z- and X-directions, respectively. Through the experiments, it has been revealed that the 
developed surface encoder has a Z-directional measuring range of ±1.5 mm, which has been expanded from that by the 
conventional surface encoder. In the second part, the causes of the periodic crosstalk error for X-axis displacement 
measurement in the previous research have been investigated, and the in-fluence of the reflected laser beam from the 
middle area of the transparent grating has been confirmed to be the main cause of the periodic crosstalk error. A 
specially fabricated transparent grating with a hole in the middle has thus been employed to avoid the influence of 
reflection from the surface of the middle area of the transparent grating. Also, a mirror has been employed to generate a 
reference beam; namely, the principle of the Z-directional displacement measurement has been switched from the 
Fizeau-type interferometer to the Michelson-type interferometer. The periodic components of the crosstalk signal have 
been eliminated in the newly proposed surface encoder, and the crosstalk errors have been reduced to ±2 nm and ± 4 
nm in Δx and Δz measurements. 
In chapter 3, a design of a new two-axis surface encoder with a Littrow configuration of single 1st-order 
diffraction beam has been proposed and tested, by which a wide-range in-plane (X-axis) and out-of-plane (Z-axis) 
displacements with balanced measurement ranges in the two directions can be measured for millimeter-scaled 
miniature precision parts. The encoder combines the principle of the Littrow configuration and the principle of 
Michelson interferometry. The former makes the beam from the scale grating possible to travel back to the sensor head 
without a beam-shift and to form an interference signal for the X-axis displacement measurement. On the other hand, 
the latter is utilized for Z-axis displacement measurement. To realize the function of directional sensitivity, a quadratic 
phase detector module is utilized, introducing two sets of signals with 90-degree phase difference. The single Littrow 
configuration is realized by the simple double grating unit, which is simpler and easier to access in structure and more 
convenient in alignment compared with the existing implementation of Littrow configuration with symmetric double 
Littrow configurations in grating interferometry where either complicated and specially-designed diffractive optical 
elements (DOEs) are required, or critical alignment of the optical elements is required to make the optical paths of the 
diffraction beams to satisfy the Littrow condition. In the first part, a prototype of the two-axis surface encoder and the 
experimental setup have been constructed. The sensor head has been designed in a compact size of 100 mm (X) ×100 
mm (Z) ×45 mm (Y). A series of tests have been conducted to see the basic performance of the sensor. The interpolation 
errors for Δx measurement and Δz measurement have been calculated to be 8 nm and 5 nm, respectively. The crosstalk 
error has been calculated to be 2 nm for Δz measurement and 5 nm for Δx measurement. A resolution of 5 nm for both 
the Δx measurement and Δz measurement has been achieved by step motion experiments. Experiments have been also 
conducted at each working distance change by a 1mm step by manual stage in a range of 13 mm and have been verified 
that there were no big differences for the interpolation errors and crosstalk errors for both Δx measurement and Δz 
measurement, indicating the measurement range of the sensor in the Z-axis was expanded to be at least 13 mm. An 
uncertainty analysis has been conducted. The expanded uncertainty of X- and Z-axis displacement has been calculated 
to be 2.640 nm and 2.400 nm, respectively. In the second part, the two-axis surface encoder has been expanded to a 
three-axis surface encoder. A series of tests have been conducted to see the basic performance of the sensor. The 
interpolation errors for Δx, Δy and Δz measurement have been calculated to be ±10 nm, ±10 nm and ±5 nm, respectively. 
The crosstalk error has been calculated to be 10 nm for Δy measurement and 1 nm for Δz measurement when scale 
grating moves along the X-axis. The crosstalk error has been calculated to be 20 nm for Δx measurement and 15 nm for 
Δz measurement when scale grating moves along the Y-axis. The crosstalk error has been calculated to be 10 nm for Δx 
measurement and 20 nm for Δy measurement when scale grating moves along the Z-axis. A resolution of 5 nm for both 
the Δx, Δy and Δz measurement has been achieved by step motion experiments. 
In chapter 4, to minimize the non-common optical path, a near-common-optical-path two-axis surface encoder 
with a TLGs interference method has been newly proposed for in-plane and out-of-plane wide-range displacement 
measurement. The out-of-plane Z-axis displacement in all the conventional multi-axis grating interferometers so far 
were based on a Michelson interference method, in which the incident beam is divided into two beams of the 
measurement beam and the reference beam at a beam splitter and propagate in two different directions, leading to a 
non-common optical path measurement system, which is highly sensitive to various environmental disturbances. In 
contrast, in the newly proposed surface encoder, the only non-common optical path for the interference beams in the 
proposed surface encoder has been the small separation between the 2nd layer transparent grating and the 3rd layer 
scale grating, making it a near-common-optical-path measurement system, which improves the robustness of the 
interference signals against environmental disturbances. In addition, Littrow configuration is utilized in this TLGs 
interference method to expand the out-of-plane Z-axis measurement range. An incident beam has been divided into two 
beams in the positive and negative directions at the first layer of grating. At both the positive and negative directions of 
the second layer grating, two diffracted beams were generated and incident on the scale grating perpendicularly or at a 
Littrow angle. The two diffracted beams at each direction then diffracted back to the second layer grating along the 
same optical path and superimpose with each other, generating interference signals which are received within the 
sensor head. To realize the bi-directional displacement measurement, the optical system has been expanded by adding a 
quadratic phase detector module which can generate two sets of interference signals with a 90-degree phase difference. 
By processing the two sets of interference signals, bi-directional two-axis displacement can be obtained simultaneously. A 
prototype surface encoder has been constructed to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed TLGs interference 
method. The prototype sensor head has been constructed in a compact size of 80 (mm) × 100 (mm) × 40 (mm). To see the 
basic performance of the sensor, a series of tests have been conducted. The resolution of 5 nm in both the X- and Z-
direction have been obtained by applying a step motion to the scale grating. The measurement errors were then 
calculated. The interpolation errors have been calculated to be 8 nm and 25 nm for Δx and Δz measurement. A 10 nm 
crosstalk error in Δz has been detected when applying X-axis displacement to the scale grating and a 5 nm crosstalk 
error in Δx has been detected when applying Z-axis displacement to the scale grating. The stability experiment has 
shown that the newly proposed near-common-optical-path two-axis surface encoder has better stability than the 
previous two-axis surface encoder based on the non-common optical path Michelson interference method. It has been 
experimentally demonstrated that our proposed two-axis surface encoder has a measuring range of 10 mm square in 
the XZ plane. 
In chapter 5, the two-axis surface encoder proposed in chapter 4 has been expanded to three-axis surface encoder. 
To expand the measurement capabilities of grating interferometers from single-axis displacement in the X-direction to 
dual-axis XY displacement measurements, the concept of two-dimensional planar gratings has been introduced and 
widely adopted. However, the commercial production of two-dimensional planar gratings remains a significant 
challenge. Their complexity and manufacturing difficulties have hindered widespread application in practical systems. 
To address this limitation, in this chapter, we propose an alternative approach that utilizes four commercial linear 
gratings instead of a two-dimensional planar grating. This configuration provides a viable solution for extending the 
measurement freedom of grating interferometers, enabling XYZ three-axis displacement measurement functionality. A 
prototype surface encoder has been constructed to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed TLGs interference 
method. To see the basic performance of the sensor, a series of tests have been conducted. For X-axis measurement 
experiment, the peak-to-valley amplitudes of the interpolation error was about 10 nm in the X-axis direction. The 
crosstalk errors were approximately 120 nm and 70 nm with respect to the Y- and Z-axis translational motions, 
respectively. The peak-to-valley amplitudes of the nonlinear component of crosstalk errors were 20 nm and 30 nm. For 
Y-axis measurement experiment, the peak-to-valley amplitudes of the interpolation error was about 20 nm in the Y-axis 
direction. The crosstalk errors were approximately 200 nm and 150 nm with respect to the X- and Z-axis translational 
motions, respectively. The peak-to-valley amplitudes of the nonlinear component of crosstalk errors were 20 nm and 130 
nm. For Z-axis measurement experiment, the peak-to-valley amplitudes of the interpolation error was about 30 nm in 
the Z-axis direction. The crosstalk errors were approximately 40 nm and 15 nm with respect to the X- and Y-axis 
translational motions, respectively. The peak-to-valley amplitudes of the nonlinear component of crosstalk errors were 
40 nm and 15 nm.

  Recently, exploring the unknown reaches of the universe has become one of humanity's greatest 
ambitions. By venturing into outer space, humankind has made significant advancements in fields such as 
dynamics, control engineering, and physics. Space structures, including observational spacecraft and the 
International Space Station (ISS) for experimental research, have been constructed. The ISS is often 
designed as a skeletal structure, known as a truss structure, which uses a triangle as a basic unit to achieve 
both lightweight properties and high rigidity. However, truss structures in space, composed of lightweight 
elements, tend to be flexible. Additionally, because there is no air drag in space, vibrations in these 
structures—caused by docking or attitude control—are challenging to suppress. 
  To mitigate this inevitable structural vibration, researchers have proposed active, passive, and semi-active 
vibration suppression methods. The passive vibration suppression method, which offers simple construction, 
high robustness, and strong performance for specific frequencies, has been widely used. However, its 
weaknesses include low performance when there is a frequency mismatch, limited scalability to complex 
vibration conditions, and challenges in practical applications. The active vibration suppression method 
provides high performance, scalability to complex vibrations, and flexible integration but is limited by high 
energy consumption and low robustness, making it less suitable for space structures. The semi-active 
vibration suppression method, which combines aspects of both passive and active methods, is extendable to 
complex vibration conditions, offering high robustness and very low energy consumption. To develop a 
semi-active vibration suppression method, researchers have explored multiple solutions, including electrical 
control circuits with negative impedance. However, negative impedance, as an ideal element not existing in 
the real world, requires an energy source. This characteristic makes the semi-active vibration suppression 
more akin to an active vibration suppression method, blending the advantages of both vibration suppression

  Recently, magnetostrictive materials have garnered significant attention due to their various advantages. 
As a type of smart material, magnetostrictive materials can facilitate energy conversion between kinetic 
energy and magnetic energy. Furthermore, magnetostrictive materials, typically iron alloys, exhibit high 
strength, workability, shock resistance, and thermal shock resistance. These properties make them suitable 
for use in extreme environments, such as outer space. Magnetostrictive materials were among the first to be 
employed in energy harvesting technology. Conventional studies on energy harvesting have not fully 
exploited potential harvesting capabilities, particularly at low frequencies. Additionally, Conventional 
research on vibration suppression has primarily focused on passive and active vibration suppression 
methods, with a noticeable gap in semi-active vibration suppression methods. Combining 
magnetostrictive-based semi-active vibration suppression with negative impedance elements remains an 
unexplored research topic. 
  This dissertation proposes a magnetostrictive-based semi-active vibration suppression method employing 
a negative capacitor (NC) for flexible, multiple-degree-of-freedom (MDOF) structures. To enhance the energy 
harvesting performance of the magnetostrictive materials at low frequencies, a semi-active energy 
harvesting method is proposed. This technology presents a promising solution for achieving a self-powered 
vibration suppression system. To extend magnetostrictive-based vibration suppression to multiple-mode 
vibrations, a semi-active vibration suppression method is developed by combining multiple circuits with 
electronic switches. Additionally, the introduction of an NC into the control circuit enables further 
improvements in vibration suppression performance, accompanied by two rational control strategies.  
 This thesis consists of seven chapters. In Chapter 1, the background, literature review, motivations, and 
objectives of this work were presented. In Chapter 2, the target electromechanical system including the MsT 
and the flexible truss structure was introduced. Additionally, the target input force and Kalman filter for 
control strategies are introduced. 
 In Chapter 3, a semi-active energy harvesting method using the MsT was proposed to improve energy 
harvesting performance from low-frequency structural vibrations. Unlike conventional passive energy 
harvesting methods, the proposed energy harvesting method incorporates an LC electrical oscillation in the 
control circuit, allowing for a boosted output voltage significantly higher than what can be achieved with 
passive methods. To optimize energy harvesting, two novel switching control strategies were proposed: 
VPCS and CPCS. The VPCS determines switching timing by detecting the phase relationship between 
vibration displacement and deformation velocity, allowing for precise energy harvesting at optimal moments. 
Building upon the VPCS, the CPCS further improves timing by introducing phase differences between the 
electrical and mechanical systems, enabling a predictive switching mechanism that enhances energy 
harvesting efficiency. Experimental validations using a 10-bay cantilevered truss structure demonstrated 
the effectiveness of the proposed energy harvesting method in harvesting energy even under low structural 
vibration frequencies. These findings confirm that both VPCS and CPCS offer promising solutions for 
efficient energy harvesting in applications with low-frequency vibration environments. 
 In Chapter 4, a semi-active vibration suppression method using the MsT was proposed to address complex 
structural vibrations. The proposed method leverages semi-active control theory, extending vibration 
suppression capabilities to multiple-mode vibration by drawing on active control theory. Unlike the 
conventional passive methods, the proposed control circuit uses an LC electrical oscillation to inverse the 
current polarity, functioning as a phase shift mechanism. By inducing an LC electrical oscillation through 
selective switching of connection points, the circuit achieves a phase shift that aligns the current with the 
target control force, addressing any existing phase discrepancies. An innovative aspect of this proposed 
vibration suppression method is its combination of current inversion with current induction to amplify the 
induced current effectively. This amplification enhances the control force generated by the MsT, which 
directly improves the suppression of vibrations. Experimental validations on a 10-bay cantilevered truss 
structure were conducted under both single-mode and multiple-mode vibrations to assess the vibration 
suppression performance of this method. Results from these experiments demonstrated that the proposed 
semi-active vibration suppression method achieved significantly higher vibration suppression performance 
than the conventional passive method. This confirms the effectiveness of the method in enhancing vibration 
suppression, especially in multiple-mode vibration scenarios where structural vibrations are complex and 
dynamic. The proposed semi-active vibration suppression method represents a promising advancement in 
vibration suppression technology, particularly for applications requiring precise control and adaptability 
across varying vibration frequencies and modes. 
 In Chapter 5, a novel vibration suppression method incorporating the MsT and NC control system was 
proposed to enhance vibration suppression performance. This method builds upon previous semi-active 
control strategies by introducing an NC element into the circuit. The inclusion of NC enables an immediate 
amplification of the current, termed as the current jump, by pushing the circuit state toward an unstable 
phase, which significantly enhances the current magnitude. By alternating the circuit between the NC state, 
which enables the current jump, and the stable shunt state, the overall system achieves a dynamically 
stable state. This design allows precise control over the induced current's magnitude, contributing to 
effective vibration suppression. To optimize the control strategy, the proposed vibration suppression method 
leverages principles from bang-bang control theory, an active control theory, to confirm the control circuit's 
effectiveness. Additionally, a machine learning model was introduced to predict the appropriate amplitude of 
the control force, adapting to changing vibration conditions. Experimental validations were performed on a 
10-bay cantilevered truss structure under both single-mode and multiple-mode vibration scenarios. The 
results indicated that the proposed vibration suppression method achieved a substantially higher vibration 
suppression performance compared to the previous semi-active approach. Moreover, due to the selective 
activation of the NC state, power consumption occurs only during its activation. Consequently, the overall 
power consumption of this method is considerably lower than that of traditional active vibration suppression 
systems, making it a more energy-efficient solution for vibration control applications. 
 In Chapter 6, an improved control strategy for a magnetostrictive-based NC control system utilizing LQ 
control theory was proposed to enhance vibration suppression capabilities. By integrating LQ control theory, 
the proposed control strategy offers a simplified and streamlined framework, effectively reducing the 
extensive pre-learning and setup required in traditional approaches. Conventional strategies often depend 
heavily on machine learning models and exhaustive pre-processing to optimize control performance. In 
contrast, the LQ-based method in this study references LQ control theory to simplify preparatory steps, 
making it more accessible and efficient for real-world applications. A key innovation of this control strategy 
is the introduction of a target current allowable area, which sets acceptable current levels without the need 
for strict regulation of the NC state conduction duration. This design reduces the dependency on complex 
control mechanisms and effectively mitigates issues of chattering vibrations. Chattering vibration 
characterized by rapid oscillations during state transitions can cause undesirable vibrations and increase 
the number of switch operations, leading to inefficiencies. The flexible current boundary introduced here 
allows for smoother transitions between states, significantly decreasing the frequency of chattering and 
enhancing operational stability. Additionally, by adjusting the range of acceptable target currents, the 
strategy effectively reduces the number of NC state activations, leading to lower power consumption. 
Experimental validations conducted on a cantilevered truss structure confirmed the efficacy of this improved 
control strategy. The proposed control strategy achieved high vibration suppression rates, with 83.6% for 
single-mode vibrations and 81.6% for multiple-mode vibrations, comparable to those achieved by 
conventional control strategies. Notably, these suppression rates were attained with substantial energy 
savings, as the new strategy consumed only 0.83 times the power required by traditional methods. This 
improvement highlights its potential for applications where energy conservation is crucial, such as in remote 
or autonomous systems, where efficient, low-power operation is a priority. The results emphasize the 
method’s robustness and make it a promising approach for advanced vibration suppression systems. 
 The proposed control strategies and methods aim to aid designers and users in implementing 
magnetostrictive-based energy harvesting and vibration suppression techniques.

【第1章】核融合炉は、核融合反応を利用してエネルギーを発生させる装置であり、二酸化炭素を排出せず、資源が
ほぼ無尽蔵であること、また連鎖反応が発生しないため安全性が高いことから、次世代のエネルギー技術として期待さ
れている。核融合反応は、2つの原子核を高密度・高温の環境で接近させ、量子トンネル効果によって融合させること
で発生するエネルギーを利用するものであり、特に D-T 反応（重水素とトリチウムの反応）は実用化に適していると
される。この反応ではヘリウムと高エネルギーの中性子が生成され、エネルギーの大部分は中性子の運動エネルギーと
して取り出される。中性子のエネルギーは核融合炉内のブランケットと呼ばれる機器で熱エネルギーに変換され、エネ
ルギー供給に利用される。 
ブランケットの設計は、プラズマや真空容器に挟まれる空間的制約の中で行われ、十分な遮蔽性能を持たせることが
求められる。加えて、プラズマから放出される荷電粒子や放射エネルギーを第一壁で受け止め、プラズマの不安定性を
抑制する役割も担う。また、ブランケットは中性子照射による材料の損傷やリチウムの消耗に対応するため、定期的な
交換や補充が必要となる。 
プラズマ対向壁である核融合炉ブランケット第一壁は、14MeV の中性子照射、3.5MeV の He イオン照射、冷却材
による腐食、電磁力、高温のプラズマに曝されることによる表面熱負荷（0.5 MW/m2）など厳しい環境に曝される設計
となっている。熱負荷としては、構造材料そのものの核発熱や内部の増殖材の核発熱も加わる。中性子照射による影響
としては、構成材料のスウェリングや照射硬化・脆化、そして構成元素の放射化などが挙げられている。イオン照射の
影響としては、第一壁表面のスパッタリングやブリスタリングが挙げられる。これらの複合した過酷環境に耐えること
がブランケット第一壁材料の開発課題となっている。 
これらの厳しい環境に耐えるために、タングステンを低放射化フェライト鋼（F82H）に接合した材料が開発されて
いる。現在、低放射化フェライト鋼及びタングステン材料それぞれの単体材における中性子照射影響を評価する研究が
進んでいる。一方で、異材接合材や異相界面近傍の中性子照射影響を行う場合は、接合法によっては接合層が生じたり、
接合時の温度履歴及び熱膨張係数差によって歪んだりするため、これらの影響を考慮する必要があるが、実際に異材接
合材の照射影響を報告している事例は極めて少なく、異材接合材特有の因子を踏まえた中性子照射影響については不明
である。 
そこで本研究では、水中爆発接合で作製した異材接合材であるタングステン被覆F82H（W/F82H）に対して、第2

射硬化挙動を調べ、単体材との違いについて、微細組織観察から明らかにすることを目的とし、押し込み硬さ試験及び
微細組織観察を実施した。第3章では、第2章で得られた結果から、照射硬化抑制メカニズムとして、異材接合によっ
て生じた残留応力に着目し、応力下でのイオン照射におけるF82Hの照射硬化挙動を明らかにすることを目的とし、引
張応力下プロトン照射試験後に押し込み硬さ試験を実施した。第 4 章では、第 2 章及び第 3 章の結果から、W/F82H
異材界面の照射硬化挙動影響をまとめ、核融合炉ブランケット第一壁における異材界面及び応力下における照射影響に
ついて記述する。 
 
【第 2 章】水中爆発接合法で作製した異材接合材であるW/F82H の①接合界面近傍の微細組織変化と押し込み硬さ
分布の関係を明らかにすること、②押し込み硬さに対する異材接合材特有の因子を踏まえた中性子照射影響を明らかに
することを目的とした。 
Wはニラコより購入した0.1mmtの圧延箔材であり、F82Hは IEAヒート材から切り出した板材である。F82H-IEA
の化学組成は、Fe-8%Cr-2%W-0.2%V-0.02%Ta-0.1%C-0.0002%B-0.1%Si-0.2%Mn-0.002%P-0.002%S-0.003%Al 
-0.004%Ti-0.007%Nである。中性子照射に用いたタングステン単体材は、ブランゼー製圧延材である。後述するHFIR
照射材以外の試料は、放電加工で断面を出した後に鏡面研磨仕上げを実施し、断面に対して押し込み硬さ試験及び微細
組織観察を実施した。HFIR照射材は加工及び研磨が困難であったため、研磨せずに押し込み硬さ試験は断面に対して
垂直方向に実施した。 
 本研究における水中爆発接合は、すべて熊本大学衝撃・極限環境研究センターで実施した。母材には、F82H-IEA
の50mm角、厚さ3mmの板を使用し、飛翔板としては、ニラコ株式会社から購入した厚さ0.2mm、50mm角のタン
グステン圧延箔を用いた。また、厚さ 0.2mm のステンレス鋼板からなるカバープレートをタングステン飛翔板から
0.1mm離して配置し、接合に必要な速度を確保した。セットアップ全体は水封し、アンビル上に設置した。爆轟には、
日本Kayaku Japan Co. Ltd.から供給された爆轟速度7000m/s、密度1310kg/m³のプラスチック爆薬SEPを使用した。
プラスチック爆薬は PMMA プレート上に成形し、電気雷管を用いて 30°の角度で配置して爆発を開始した。また、
試料の中心と爆薬の間のスタンドオフ距離は25mmに固定した。 
中性子照射は,ベルギーの SCK-CEN の BR2 炉の LIBERTY と呼ばれる多目的リグ及び米国のオークリッジ国立研
究所のHigh Flux Isotope Reactor (HFIR)にて実施された。BR2にて要求された試料の最大フルエンス(E > 1.0 MeV)
は、原子炉中間面で1×1024 n/m2であり、温度は100~150、290℃、時間は33.6、100.8、384、1176 時間であった。
HFIR 照射試料は 500℃の HFIR-RB19J のキャプセルに入れられ、熱中性子遮蔽をした上で 2256 時間の中性子照射
が実施され、フルエンス(E > 1.0 MeV)は8×1024 n/m2程度であった。加えて、熱時効効果を確かめるために、290℃、
33.6時間及び、600℃、7時間の条件で熱時効を実施した。 
実験方法として、押し込み硬さ試験と微細組織観察及び分析を実施した。押し込み硬さ試験はビッカース硬さ試験及
びナノインデンテーション試験を行い、ビッカース硬さ試験は、100gf、室温にて島津 HMV-G21DT 及び Buehler 
Wilson VH3100を用いて実施され、ナノインデンテーション試験は、30mN、室温にて InForce 1000Actuatorを用い
て実施された。微細組織観察及び分析として、電子プローブマイクロアナライザー（EPMA）、電子後方散乱回折（EBSD）
法、ウィークビーム走査透過電子顕微鏡（WB-STEM）、X線回折（XRD）法を実施した。 
ビッカース硬さ試験及びナノインデンテーション試験で得られた結果を図 1に示す。横軸が W/F82H 界面からの距
離となっており、0µm部分が接合層と設定している。縦軸はビッカース硬さを示しており、硬さの結果から-50から0µm
までをW部、0から15µm程度までを接合層、15から150µm 程度までをUnder-Coat Hardened(UCH)部、150µm
以上離れた領域をF82H母材部とする。これらの照射材と未照射材のデータをそれぞれの領域で比較すると、すべての
領域で照射硬化が抑制されていることが示された。特に大きく軟化している条件は中性子照射材と600℃の熱時効材で
あり、どちらもUCH部のみが軟化していることが示された。 
照射材、熱時効材、及び未照射材の EBSD 結果を比較すると、熱時効材は結晶粒が粗大化しているのに対して、照
射材は結晶粒が粗大化していなかった。これらの結果から熱時効材の軟化は再結晶が原因であり、照射材の軟化は接合
時に導入された加工硬化の回復が原因であると示唆された。 
一方で、加工硬化が導入されていないF82H母材部でも照射硬化が抑制されていた。これはXRDの結果からW/F82H
が F82H 単体材よりも格子歪みが大きいことが示されたことや他の材料において応力負荷が照射硬化抑制に寄与して
いる報告から、接合時に導入された格子歪みによる残留応力が照射硬化の要因であることが示唆された。 
 
【第 3 章】前章のタングステン被覆 F82H の F82H 母材部の照射硬化抑制要因が残留応力であるという仮説を立証
するために、F82H母材に対して引張応力下プロトン照射試験を実施し、引張応力負荷による照射硬化の抑制の有無を
明らかにするとともに、照射硬化挙動に及ぼす引張応力下プロトン照射の影響について論じることを目的とする。 
F82H-IEA(Fe-8%RCr-2%W-0.2%V-0.04%Ta-0.1%C)ヒートの母材部を SS-J タイプ微小引張試験片として加工した。
引張応力下プロトン照射試験を実施した F82H 引張試験片と、比較用で引張応力負荷なしでプロトン照射した F82H
引張試験片を用意した。これらの試料に対して、ナノインデンテーション試験及びTEM観察を実施した。 
 プロトン（H+）照射は、東北大学高速中性子実験室（FNL）のダイナミトロン加速器にて実施した。プロトンビ
ームの加速エネルギーは 2MeV である。照射損傷プロファイルに関する計算はSRIM96 を用い、10µm までのプラト
ー領域の深さにおいて弾き出し損傷量が平均 0.1dpa になるように照射条件を設定した。照射温度は両条件において照
射時間とともに増加し、100℃以下で定常となった。ビーム電流値は両条件で1.5-2.0 [µA]に収まった。 
ナノインデンテーション試験では、CSM法を用いて、歪み速度を0.05[1/s]、最大押し込み深さを2000[nm]とした。
塑性変形領域の影響を避けるため、圧痕の間隔は100µm毎とした。 
ナノインデンテーション試験から得られたバルク相当硬さから、引張応力を負荷したF82Hのバルク相当ナノインデ
ンテーション硬さは 3.1 GPa であるのに対し、引張応力を負荷していないF82H のバルク相当ナノインデンテーショ
ン硬さは3.2 GPaであり、引張応力負荷によってF82Hの照射硬化が抑制されることが示された。一方、TEM観察の
結果からは、プロトン照射によって数nm程度の微小なブラックドット状の照射欠陥の形成が見られたものの、引張応
力負荷の影響については明確な違いを得ることが出来なった。F82Hの照射硬化挙動に対する応力負荷の影響のメカニ
ズムを解明するためには、より高い照射量での照射欠陥発達挙動を解明する必要がある。 
 
【第4章】 第2章では接合時に発生した残留応力、第3章では外部から負荷した引張応力によって、照射硬化が抑
制され得ることが分かった。第2章及び第3章の照射温度は300℃以下で、高温クリープが発生する温度以下の低温で
あるが、照射下での応力負荷が強度特性に影響を及ぼすことが示された。本研究において、非クリープ領域である低温
でのF82Hの照射硬化・脆化に及ぼす応力負荷の影響が存在することが明らかになったため、今後の照射研究において
低温側での応力負荷照射実験を進める必要があると考えられる。

Elucidation of neutrino mass provides significant insights for the advancement of physics beyond the Standard Model. So 
far, the only direct method for measuring the Majorana mass of neutrinos is considered to be the experimental verification 
of neutrinoless double-beta (0υββ) decay. However, due to the extremely long half-life of 0υββ decay, its detection requires 
prolonged observation of large amounts of 0υββ decay isotopes using a high-energy-resolution detector. A promising 
candidate for such a detector is a liquid scintillator loaded with 0υββ decay isotopes. To achieve this, it is necessary to 
ensure both a high concentration of loaded isotopes and a high scintillation light yield. Since most candidate isotopes exist 
as metal elements and do not dissolve directly in liquid scintillators composed of organic molecules, hydrophobic 
compounds must be used for loading. Organometallic complexes are the most commonly employed for this purpose; 
however, their dissolution leads to significant degradation of optical properties and quenching of scintillation due to the 
absorption characteristics and chemical instability of the added molecules. Therefore, developing new methods to load 
high-concentration metal elements while maintaining high scintillation light yields is a crucial research topic. 
 
This thesis focuses on nanoparticle dispersion as a new method for metal loading in liquid scintillators. In particular, 
metal oxide nanoparticles with wide band gaps were selected as additives. Since these materials do not impede the energy 
transfer process in scintillation, they are expected to enable high scintillation light yields even when metal elements are 
loaded in high concentrations. To disperse nanoparticles in organic solvents, interface control using organic ligands is 
essential to modify the hydrophilic nanoparticle surface. However, in previous studies, nanoparticle aggregation in liquid 
scintillators was not suppressed due to inadequate interface control. Therefore, this thesis primarily investigates interface

and dispersibility control to achieve uniform dispersion of metal oxide nanoparticles in liquid scintillators. In this study, 
ZrO2 nanoparticles were selected for loading the candidate isotope 96Zr and synthesized using a subcritical hydrothermal 
synthesis method, which enables large-scale production through a rapid and continuous synthesis process. Subsequently, a 
novel zirconium-loaded liquid scintillator was developed using ZrO2 nanoparticle dispersion. 
 
In Chapter 2, the selection of organic ligands with good affinity for the liquid scintillator solvent was investigated to 
achieve the dispersion of ZrO2 nanoparticles. Since the solvent consists of aromatic organic compounds such as toluene, 
conventional saturated carboxylic acid ligands exhibit low affinity, resulting in poor dispersibility of ZrO2 nanoparticles 
modified with these ligands. Therefore, aromatic carboxylic acid ligands were explored as alternatives. Decanoic acid (DA), 
myristic acid (MA), 3-propionic acid (3PPA), and 6-phenyl hexanoic acid (6PHA) were selected, and their affinity for 
toluene was evaluated using the Hansen solubility parameter (HSP). The affinity between a solvent and a ligand is assessed 
by the HSP distance, Ra, between the two molecules in three-dimensional Hansen space. A smaller Ra value indicates better 
affinity. The Ra values between toluene and the hydrophobic moieties of DA, MA, 3PPA, and 6PHA were 37.4, 41.1, 6.9, 
and 1.6, respectively, suggesting that aromatic carboxylic acids have better affinity than saturated carboxylic acids. ZrO2 
nanoparticles modified with DA, MA, 3PPA, and 6PHA were synthesized via the subcritical hydrothermal method, and 
their dispersibility was evaluated by measuring the Zr concentration using ICP-OES. The Zr concentrations in DA-, MA-, 
and 3PPA-modified ZrO2 nanoparticle dispersions were below 0.06 wt%, whereas that of 6PHA-modified ZrO2 was 0.18 
wt%, indicating that modification with 6PHA, which has a small Ra and a sufficiently long alkyl chain, enables the 
dispersion of ZrO2 nanoparticles in toluene. However, the Zr concentration was still insufficient for application in liquid 
scintillators, necessitating further improvement in nanoparticle dispersion concentration. 
 
In Chapter 3, dual-molecule modification was attempted to enhance nanoparticle dispersibility. This approach aims to 
control the geometric structure of the ligand shell. High-density surface modification with a single type of ligand typically 
forms a self-assembled monolayer (SAM), but recent studies suggest that such SAM structures can lead to rigid ligand 
shells, which weaken steric repulsion between nanoparticles and promote nanoparticle aggregation. To disrupt the SAM 
structure, modification with two types of molecules of different carbon chain lengths was explored. Here, 6PHA and 3PPA 
were mixed at stoichiometric ratios of 1:0, 3:1, 1:1, 1:3, and 0:1 for ZrO2 nanoparticle modification, and the effects of 
dual-molecule modification were examined. HPLC analysis of adsorption ratios in the 3:1, 1:1, and 1:3 mixtures showed 
adsorption ratios of 32:68, 18:82, and 7:93, respectively, indicating successful dual-molecule modification. Absorption 
spectroscopy revealed that dual-molecule modification disrupted the ligand shell structure compared to single-molecule 
modification. The Zr concentrations of ZrO2 nanoparticle dispersions with ligand mixing ratios of 1:0, 3:1, 1:1, 1:3, and 0:1 
were 0.18, 0.55, 1.13, 0.57, and 0.054 wt%, respectively. The improved dispersibility under 3:1, 1:1, and 1:3 conditions 
suggests that dual-molecule modification enhances nanoparticle dispersion. However, secondary particles ranging from tens 
to thousands of nanometers were observed, deteriorating the optical properties of the liquid scintillators. Therefore, 
controlling nanoparticle aggregation remains crucial for practical applications.  
 
In Chapter 4, to improve the dispersion uniformity, subcritical hydrothermal synthesis of ZrO2 nanoparticles using 
organometallic complex precursors was attempted. In this method, small and uniform nanoparticles form by crystal growth 
from a uniform precursor and by reducing reaction steps. Four zirconium precursors—Zirconium(IV) oxide chloride (C0), 
Zirconium(IV) oxide acetate (C2), Zirconium(IV) acetylacetonate (C5), and Zirconium(IV) 2-ethylhexanoate (C8)—with 
different carbon chain length ligands were used for the synthesis. The particle sizes of the nanoparticles synthesized from 
C0, C2, C5, and C8 precursors were 5.4 ±1.17, 5.0 ±0.90, 4.6 ±0.85, and 4.0 ±0.62 nm, respectively. Increasing the carbon 
chain length of the precursor ligands led to smaller and more uniform nanoparticles. The uniformity of the ZrO2 
nanoparticles in dispersion was evaluated by DLS measurements. In the case of the sample synthesized from the C0 
precursor, the particle size distribution immediately after synthesis was quite non-uniform, and secondary particles ranging 
from several hundred to thousand nm were observed. On the other hand, the uniformity of the samples synthesized from 
organometallic precursors was excellent even immediately after synthesis, and their size distribution did not change after 
standing overnight. The secondary particle sizes were estimated to be 57.8 ±2.65, 171 ±27.1, 37.1 ±5.34, and 7.82 
±0.041 nm, respectively. The average particle size of the ZrO2 nanoparticle dispersion using the C8 precursor closely 
matched the diameter measured by TEM. This agreement suggests that the nanoparticles were uniformly dispersed as single 
particles, and the dispersion remained completely transparent in the visible light region. 
 
In Chapter 5, ZrO2 nanoparticle-dispersed liquid scintillators were fabricated by dispersing the nanoparticles at 
concentrations of 0, 2.5, 5, 10, and 20 wt% (corresponding to 0, 1.4, 2.8, 5.6, and 11 wt% Zr) in a scintillation cocktail 
containing 5.0 g/L of DPO and 0.5 g/L of POPOP. The ZrO2 nanoparticle dispersions remained transparent over the visible 
light range, and no absorption band was observed other than an increase in absorbance at a lower wavelength region due to 
Rayleigh scattering. This indicates that quenching due to the absorption of scintillation light by additives did not occur in 
the ZrO2 nanoparticle dispersion developed in this study. The fabricated scintillators showed a scintillation band with peaks 
from 419 to 425 nm upon X-ray irradiation. The pulse height spectra were recorded using a 137Cs γ-ray source, and the 
scintillation light yields were estimated by comparing the Compton edge channels to that of the commercially available 
plastic scintillator NE-142 (5200 photons/MeV). The estimated scintillation light yields were 12000, 11000, 9900, 8500, 
and 5500 photons/MeV, respectively, while the energy resolutions were 4.3, 3.4, 2.7, 2.9, and 4.0%, respectively. Notably, 
using a liquid scintillator dispersed with 10 wt% ZrO₂ nanoparticles, a high Zr loading of 5 wt% and an excellent energy 
resolution of 2.9% were achieved. These results demonstrate that nanoparticle-dispersed liquid scintillators could be a 
strong candidate for future 0υββ decay search experiment detectors. 
 
 


金属装荷型液体シンチレータへの応用のための金属酸化物ナノ粒子の界面および分散性制御に関する研究

準安定オーステナイト系ステンレス鋼は耐食性が要求される環境で薄板ばねとして使用される．ばね用ステン
レス鋼は一般に冷間圧延によって加工誘起マルテンサイト変態を利用して高強度化させたのちに部品形状に成形
し，その後473～773 Kの温度で30～60 min 程度の保持時間で低温焼鈍を施し，高降伏強度化させて最終製品
に組み込まれる．一例としてSUS 301 (Fe-17Cr-7Ni) の溶体化処理材ではオーステナイト（γ）が主相となり全
伸びは30％を超えるが，冷間圧延により加工誘起マルテンサイト（α′）変態が生じた冷間圧延材では高強度化す
る一方で延性は低下する．このように強度と延性はトレードオフの関係にあるため，高強度が必要とされる薄板
ばね用鋼では，ばねの形状によっては材料の延性が不足して所定の形状へ成形できず，曲げ部での割れや微細な
クラックにより製品製造時の歩留まりや部品の耐久性が低下するなどの課題がある． 
薄板ばね用鋼板に求められる代表的な特性は，1500 MPaを超える降伏強度と20 ％を超える全伸びに加えて
優れた耐食性であり，SUS 301ではそれらの要求を全て満たすことが出来ない．そこで，準安定オーステナイト
系TRIPステンレス鋼にMoを添加して耐食性を高めた高耐食準安定オーステナイト系ステンレス鋼のAISI 633 
(Fe-17Cr-5Ni-2.7Mo-0.08C-0.10N) に着目し，冷間圧延によるα′体積率の制御と低温焼鈍を組み合わせた手法に
より高強度高延性ばね用ステンレス鋼（開発鋼）を開発した． 
開発鋼では，冷間圧延によりα′とγの体積率を1：1に調整した後に，573 K, 673 K および 773 Kにおいて
保持時間 360 min で低温熱処理をした場合，573 K から 673 K では降伏点現象による高降伏強度化と顕著な
Lüdersの伸びの発現により全伸びが大きくなり強度延性バランスが改善するが，処理温度が高い773 K では降
伏強度と Lüders 伸びが低下して強度と延性が悪化する．以上のことから低温焼鈍条件の最適化が高強度高延性
化には重要であることは明らかである． 
C, Nを含む準安定オーステナイト系TRIPステンレス鋼に低温焼鈍を施すと，α′からγへCとNが分配し，
オーステナイトの機械的安定性が向上することが予想される．しかし，準安定オーステナイト系TRIPステンレ
ス鋼を対象として冷間圧延と低温分配処理を組み合わせた報告はないため，強度と延性や，CとNの分配に及ぼ
す分配処理条件の影響は不明である．

 さらに，開発鋼ではLüders伸びを積極的に活用して高延性化させるため，Lüders伸びの大きさが重要である．
Lüders伸びの大きさや伝播機構には，塑性安定性が強く関与していることが示されており，TRIP鋼では塑性安
定性を左右する加工硬化率に，加工誘起マルテンサイト変態や各相間での応力・ひずみ分配が影響すると予想さ
れるが，これらに及ぼす低温での C, N 分配処理による影響に関する報告はない．したがって，冷間圧延と低温
分配処理を組み合わせた高強度高延性化手法を応用展開するためには， 機械的特性やC, N分配に及ぼす分配処
理条件や，高強度高延性化機構の解明が必要である． 
本論文ではC, N分配処理をした準安定オーステナイト系TRIPステンレス鋼の高強度高延性化機構解明を目
的として，分配処理条件と機械的特性との関係を系統的に整理するとともに，分配処理条件によるオーステナイ
ト中のC, N濃度の3次元アトムプローブ（3DAP）を用いた定量的評価，並びに引張試験その場中性子回折実験
によるLüders変形中の相応力や加工誘起変態量を評価した．  
第１章では，本研究の背景と目的および論文の構成を示した．  
第２章では，本論文で用いたFe-16.8Cr-4.7Ni-0.08C-0.10Nオーステナイト系TRIPステンレス鋼の熱処理条
件及び共通する実験および解析手法について示した． 
第３章では，C, N分配処理条件による機械的特性変化を系統的に調査した．分配処理を施すと，ひずみ時効に
より降伏点現象および顕著な Lüders 変形が生じることで冷延材ままより延性が増加した．当初，分配処理温度
や時間が上昇すると，上降伏応力（UYS），下降伏応力（LYS）とLüders伸びが一旦増加するが，より高温・長
時間の分配処理では逆にこれらの特性が低下する．その変化は，焼戻しパラメータ（TP）により次の3 Stageに
整理できることが分かった． 
Stage 1：＜TP12500 TP増加に応じた機械的特性変化が生じない． 
Stage 2：TP =12500-14500 TP増加に応じて強度と延性が共に増加する． 
Stage 3：TP >14500  TP増加に応じて強度と延性が共に低下する． 
Lüders変形部では加工誘起マルテンサイト変態が生じるが，強度・延性に優れるStage 2では加工誘起マルテ
ンサイト変態量が他のステージと比べて少なく，Lüders変形終了直後の加工硬化率が低いほどLüders伸びが大
きくなり，Lüders伸びが大きいほどLüders変形部のひずみ増加により加工硬化量が増加するためLYSが高く
なる．以上より，分配処理による強度と延性の向上は，γ の機械的安定性の向上と対応している可能性が示唆さ
れた．  
第４章では，分配処理条件によるγ中のC, N濃度とγの機械的安定性との関係について，3DAPを用いて調
査した．Stage 1, 2ではTP増加によりα′からγへのCが分配するものの，γへのN濃化は少ない．一方，Stage 
3ではα′内でのM3C析出にCが消費されるためγへのC分配量が低下する．Stage 3 での炭化物析出はOrtho
平衡でのM3C析出に必要な α′中でのCr拡散が十分に起こるためである．また，γへのN濃化抑制は α′中での
N-CrクラスターやCrNの生成や，γ中でCよりもNの拡散が遅いことが原因と考えられる．以上より，Stage 
2では主としてCの濃化によりγ安定性が向上したことを明確にした．  
第５章では，引張試験その場中性子回折実験法を用いて Lüders 変形中の加工誘起マルテンサイト変態量，な
らびに相応力やγの降伏応力を評価し，加工誘起マルテンサイト変態とUYS, LYSとの関係やLüders伸びの大
きさに影響を及ぼす加工硬化率をもたらす要因について解析した．冷延まま材では，γ の降伏と同時に加工誘起
マルテンサイト変態が開始するが，分配処理材ではγ降伏応力よりも高い応力で加工誘起マルテンサイト変態が
開始する．分配処理材では加工誘起マルテンサイト変態開始応力とUYSが対応しているが，γへのC, N濃化に
よるマルテンサイト変態の化学的駆動力低下が，機械的駆動力となる加工誘起マルテンサイト変態開始応力の上
昇により補われていることから，分配処理によるγの安定化がUYS上昇を引き起こしていると考えられる．   
α′と γの相応力は α′の方が高く，相応力差は変形中の加工誘起マルテンサイト変態量が多いほど大きくなる．
また，Lüders変形中の平均加工硬化率解析では，Stage 1でTP増加に伴う変化は生じず，Stage 2では低下，
Stage 3では上昇に転じる傾向が得られており，TPによる機械的特性の3つのStage 変化と加工硬化率との対
応が明確になった．Lüders 変形中の平均加工硬化率の内訳を混合則に基づいて解析した結果，変形中に生じる
フレッシュ α′の増加が加工硬化率の上昇に繋がることから，Lüders 伸びを増加させるためには γの機械的安定
性向上が重要である． 
これらの結果から，C, N分配処理によるγ安定性の向上がUYS上昇やLüders変形中の平均加工硬化率低下
に寄与することで，Lüders伸びが増加すると同時に，Lüders変形領域における加工硬化量の増加を通してLYS
を上昇させることが明確となった．従って，C濃化によるγの安定性化が高強度高延性化する要因であると結論
した．
