【Report (Activity Report)】Participation report: Triangular Training Program on Train of trainers on Advanced Techniques of Maintenance and Quality Control of Operating Room and Intensive Care Unit Equipment, 2024 (JICA)
The Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA), in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Institut Supérieur des Technologies Médicales de
Tunis, Université de Tunis El Manar, and the Tunis Center for Scientific Research, has launched a three-year training program as part of a triangular cooperation initiative aimed at French-speaking African countries. The agreement, formalized on December 14, 2022, outlines a three-year training program designed to advance the objectives of the Eighth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD 8), which took place in Tunis in August 2022. This program facilitates knowledge transfer from Japan and Tunisia to African nations through three annual training sessions, running from 2023 to 2025. The initiative focuses on enhancing the expertise of scientific trainers in the maintenance and quality control of medical devices in African countries. These trainers will, in turn, disseminate their expertise to future medical technicians, engineers, and colleagues. The second training session of this program was held in Tunis from September to October of this year. During this session, the authors delivered presentations on the role and significance of clinical engineering in Japan, as well as the clinical engineering curriculum at Morinomiya University of Medical Sciences. This report summarizes the insights and experiences from this year's session, with the hope that ongoing mutual exchanges between African countries and Japan will continue to deepen in the coming years.departmental bulletin pape
