Analisis Faktor Sosial Ekonomi yang mendorong praktik Sex Tourism di Kawasan Mangga Besar
ChatGPT said:
The phenomenon of sex tourism is one of the most controversial forms of tourism, yet it continues to develop in various countries, including Indonesia. The Mangga Besar area in West Jakarta is known as one of the centres of nightlife activities, often associated with the existence of covert prostitution practices. Economic factors are the main driving force behind the practice of sex work in Mangga Besar, as individuals seek income to support themselves and sustain their livelihoods in Jakarta. In addition, social factors such as limited education restrict sex workers from participating in the formal sector, while the surrounding environment tacitly supports such sexual practices. Therefore, it is unsurprising that the Mangga Besar area is characterised by a highly permissive social environment. This study aims to examine the dynamics of sex tourism in the Mangga Besar area, the socio-economic factors driving its rapid growth, and its impacts on society, as well as the local government’s inadequate and weak policy responses. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a field study approach, employing participatory observation and in-depth interviews with visitors and commercial sex workers. The results indicate that sex tourism practices have developed due to a combination of economic factors such as poverty and unemployment, along with social factors including weak social control, a consumptive lifestyle, and the normalisation of sexual culture in urban environments. Although this phenomenon contributes to the informal economy in the area, it also generates negative impacts such as social issues, value conflicts, and public health risks. This study recommends a more comprehensive and humanistic policy approach, including public education, stronger regulation, and protection for vulnerable groups
The Relationship Between Knowledge, Awareness of Consequences, and Tourist Attitudes Toward Plastic Waste Disposal Behaviours at Natural Tourist Destinations
Currently, tourism activities in Indonesia are increasingly being directed towards sustainable tourism. Many programs have been designed by the government and destination owners to support this initiative, such as movements to reduce plastic waste at destinations or events. However, these programs have not been well supported by tourists. Findings from the field and previous research show that many tourists still dispose of their plastic waste carelessly. The aim of this study is to identify the level of knowledge, the response to the consequences of plastic waste disposal, attitudes, and behaviour’s of tourists regarding plastic waste disposal. Additionally, this research is expected to contribute recommendations to the government and other stakeholders to create programs that prevent tourists from disposing of or generating plastic waste in order to achieve the SDGs 2030 goal of "Sustainable Tourism." The method used is quantitative with descriptive and verificative analysis. The findings of this study reveal a gap between attitudes and behaviour's regarding plastic waste disposal at natural tourist destinations. Visitors in this study, who are predominantly young, have good knowledge, awareness, and attitudes toward the behaviour of disposing of plastic waste at natural tourist destinations, but they do not practice these behaviours’. This study suggests that in order to create more significant change, a comprehensive education strategy is necessary, such as outreach, informational campaigns, and participation in environmental cleanliness activities. The use of digital technology, such as mobile apps, can also strengthen awareness and motivate more responsible behaviour. Furthermore, strengthening social norms through community campaigns and cross-sector collaboration between the government, tourism managers, and local communities is key to creating an environment that supports sustainability
Big Data-based Sentiment Analysis on TripAdvisor Reviews Using Naïve Bayes Classification: A Case Study on Luxury Resort in Bali
This research aims to analyze the sentiment of tourist reviews on the TripAdvisor platform towards a luxury resort in Bali by utilizing the Naïve Bayes classification method. The review data is analyzed to identify positive, negative, and neutral sentiments. Three variants of Naïve Bayes algorithm (GaussianNB, MultinomialNB, and BernoulliNB) were implemented and evaluated for performance. The results showed that the GaussianNB model provided the highest classification accuracy of 0.89. Further analysis revealed that the model effectively identified positive sentiments, but had challenges in classifying negative and neutral sentiments. Word cloud visualization confirmed the focus of positive reviews on aspects of accommodation, service and facilities, which can serve as a reference for the hospitality industry. This study concludes that big data-based sentiment analysis is an important tool for understanding customer perceptions, noting the need for further model development to improve the identification of minority sentiments

This study contributes to expanding the existing literature on visitor motivations and offers managerial implications for theme park managers to adjust their marketing strategies according to these clusters, thereby enhancing visitor satisfaction and loyalty towards the theme park

Memayu Hayuning Bawana: Integrating Javanese Philosophical Wisdom into Sustainable Cultural Tourism in Yogyakarta
This study explores Memayu Hayuning Bawana, a traditional Javanese philosophy that emphasizes harmony, sustainability, and ethical responsibility, as a guiding framework for cultural-based tourism development in the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY), Indonesia. In the face of increasing globalization and cultural commodification, this research investigates how local philosophical wisdom can serve as an alternative paradigm to mainstream tourism strategies that often neglect cultural authenticity and ecological integrity.nUsing a qualitative, descriptive-analytical approach, data were collected through literature reviews and in-depth interviews with key stakeholders, including tourism village managers, cultural practitioners, and policy authorities in Yogyakarta. Thematic analysis was employed to interpret the integration of Memayu Hayuning Bawana within three dimensions: cultural preservation, environmental sustainability, and community empowerment.nFindings indicate that applying this philosophy helps revitalize traditional practices such as batik-making and gamelan performances, supports ecotourism initiatives based on ecological balance, and fosters inclusive tourism models through community-based enterprises. However, challenges such as the commodification of culture, unequal benefit distribution, and superficial environmental efforts highlight the need for balanced and inclusive governance
