Vocational Students’ Preferences toward Online English Language Learning and Teaching during the Covid-19 Pandemic
Get PDFthe Covid-19 pandemic insists face-to-face learning on campus be switched to online or e-learning. However, radical changes are challenging for both educators and students.. This study aims at finding students’ preferences toward online English Language Learning and teaching during the Covid-19 pandemic. The participants of the study were 54 Language Department students at the State Polytechnic of Bengkalis. The research was conducted in a descriptive method. Data and information were gathered through a 5-point Likert scale Google form survey adapted from Coman, et.al (2020). The questionnaire covered students’ technical condition, students’ technical skills / learning styles, lecturers’ technical skills / teaching styles, student’s ability to assimilate and learn while learning online. The data were analyzed using Statistical analysis application; The Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) to provide descriptive statistics. The study discovered that video conference platforms were the most preferable in online learning, and live video conference and discussion on chat/forums were the most favorable ones. It was also found that the satisfaction level toward online learning was low; face-to-face learning is still the most favorable. In addition, improvement on students’ technical condition, students’ technical skills / learning styles, lecturers’ technical skills / teaching styles were still needed. Therefore, appropriate utilization of video conference and forum discussion was a necessity. Finally, it is recommended to provide both lecturers’ and students’ training programs to promote better online learning and teaching.Keywords:Online learning; teaching ; pandemi
IMPROVING STUDENTS READING SKILLS THROUGH READING LOG ACTIVITIES AT SMKN 3 TANJUNG PINANG
Get PDFThis research is a Quasi Experiment Design research. This study analyzed using Reading Logs to improve students' reading skills at SMKN Tanjung Pinang. Experimental Research is defined as a research method used to find the effect of Reading Log activity. There are two groups in this research, experimental and control classes. The experimental class acquired treatment for Reading Log activities, while the control class did not get the Reading Log activity treatment. In this study, the researcher used the simulation method in experimental class the, while the control class used the demonstration method. Based on the results of the t-test on students' reading skills, it can be seen from the value of the Independent sample T-Test data analysis where the T-count value is 5,971 with a significance of 0.000. The significance value showed 0.000 0.005 and Ho is rejected. This is also supported by the mean value of the experimental class is 84.78 which is greater than the control class is about 73.00. Based on the results of the statistical test, it can be concluded that Reading Log activities can improve students' reading skills.Â
THE RELATIONSHIP AMONGST STUDY OF READING HABITS, READING ATTITUDE, AND READING ACHIEVEMENT OF WATTPAD READER AT IAIN PALANGKA RAYA
Get PDFThis study investigated the relationship amongst study of reading habits, reading attitude, and reading achievement of Wattpad reader at IAIN Palangka Raya. This study used a quantitative method and a multiple linear regression design.This study involves 30 students of third and fifth semesters of English Department at IAIN Palangka Raya. The data are collected using questionnaire and test. The findings revealed that there is a positive relationship between students' reading habits (mean = 89.47) and attitudes (mean = 70,23) toward their reading achievement (mean = 87,33) as wattpad readers in the third and fifth semesters of the English Education Study Program at IAIN Palangka Raya. The effect of Students' Reading Habit (X1) on Students' Reading Achievement (Y) is 40%, while the effect of Students' Reading Attitude (X2) on Students' Reading Achievement (Y) is 42%. The combined effect of the independent variables on the dependent variable is then 82%. It meant that students' reading habits and reading attitudes have a relatively high influence on students' reading achievement. Therefore, reading habit and attitude can predict the successful language learning in reading achievement. Based on the findings, students should read more to improve their reading habits and attitudes. Teachers and lecturers, particularly in reading subjects, must pay closer attention to students' reading habits and attitudes. For future researchers to conduct research with a larger sample size and to focus not only on reading but also on other abilities such as writing, listening, and speaking
Genre Based Approach (GBA) in Teacher's Module at Senior High School Phase E
Get PDFThis research is written to describe the application of Genre Based Approach (GBA) in teaching English as the implementation Merdeka Curriculum at Senior High School. The objective of this research is to describe the ways of the teacher in implementing GBA in writing module for Senior High School grade X phase E. There are four cycles of GBA; BKOF, MOT, JCOT, and ICOT. These cycles became the focus of the implementation of GBA. Then, this research belongs to qualitative approach with content analysis as the method. Also, the researcher used document of teacher’s module of grade X Phase E Senior High School as the source of data and then, the researcher also chose document analysis as the instrument to analyze the data. To analyze the data, the researcher used four steps; organizing and preparing the data, reading the data, coding the data and interpreting the data. After doing data analysis, the researcher found that the teacher only implemented three cycles, namely, BKOF, MOT, and ICOT. The teacher did not generate the ideas about JCOT cycle. In addition, the teacher still needs to improve knowledge, skill and competence in understanding GBA because the teacher did not implement the cycles in detail.  Keywords: Genre Based Approach (GBA), Module
Pengaruh Biaya Operasional, Perputaran Persediaan, dan Debt to Equity Ratio terhadap Profitabilitas (Studi Pada Perusahaan Sub Sektor Farmasi yang Terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia Tahun 2017-2021)
Get PDFThis study aims to determine the effect of operating costs, inventory turnover, and debt to equity ratio on the profitability of pharmaceutical sub-sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) in 2017-2021. The independent variables in this study are operational costs, inventory turnover, and debt to equity ratio, while the independent variable is profitability. This study uses secondary data in the form of company financial reports. This study used a purposive sampling technique to obtain 8 samples from a total population of 11 companies. Multiple linear regression analysis was used for data analysis in this study. The results of the partial test that (1) operational costs have no significant effect on profitability with a tcount ttable -0.086 2.028 and a significance value of 0.932 0.05 (2) inventory turnover has a significant positive effect on profitability with a tcount ttable 3.451 2.028 and a significance value of 0.001 0.05 (3) the debt to equity ratio has a significant negative effect on profitability with a tcount ttable 6.415 2.028 and a significance value of 0.00 0.05. Meanwhile, the simultaneous test results of operational costs, inventory turnover, and debt to equity ratio have a significant effect on profitability with Fcount Ftable 18.596 2.866 and a significance value of 0.00 0.05.Keywords: Operational Costs, Inventory Turnover, Debt to Equity Ratio, and Profitabilit
ANALISIS PERBANDINGAN TINGKAT KERUSAKAN JALAN LENTUR MENGGUNAKAN METODE BINA MARGA DAN PAVEMENT CONDITION INDEX (PCI)
No full textThis study aims to analyze the comparison of the level of road damage using the Bina Marga method and the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) at Jalan Sultan Syarif Kasim, Sungai Apit District. The degree of bending damage can provide an overview of the condition of the road infrastructure and must be accurately identified for effective maintenance planning. In this study, a field survey was conducted to collect data on flexible road conditions. The obtained data were then analyzed using the Highways and PCI methods. The results of the analysis compare the degree of damage to the flexible road produced by the two methods. The results of this study are expected to provide a better insight into the comparison of the extent of damage to flexible roads between the Highways and PCI methods. In accordance with the Bina Marga 1990 method if the UP value ≥ 7 is included in the periodic maintenance program category. The value of the rank on Jalan Sultan Syarif Kasim road, Teluk Masjid Village, Sungai Apit District, Siak Regency is 9.00. then it falls under the category of periodic maintenance. The average road condition value on Jalan Sultan Syarif Kasim (Sungai Apit) PCI method is 60.23 with fair rating (average)Â
The Effect of Percapita Income, Inflation, and 1-Month Time Deposit Interest Rate on the Number of 1-Month Time Deposit at PT. State Savings Bank (BTN) in Indonesia Year 2001-2022
Get PDFThis study aims to investigate the impact of Per Capita Income, Inflation Rate, and 1-Month Time Deposit Interest Rate on the Number of 1-Month Time Deposit at PT. Bank Tabungan Negara (BTN) in Indonesia during the period 2001-2022. The data used in this study is secondary and obtained from published financial statements, including official sources such as the websites of Bank Indonesia, Bank Tabungan Negara, and the Central Statistics Agency. The data collection time span covers the period from 2001 to 2022. This study requires three independent variables, namely Per Capita Income, Inflation Rate, and 1-Month Time Deposit Interest Rate, and also a dependent variable, namely the Number of 1-Month Time Deposit Deposits. The results showed that together, Per Capita Income, Inflation Rate, and 1-Month Time Deposit Interest Rate have a significant impact on the Number of 1-Month Time Deposit Deposits at PT. Bank Tabungan Negara (BTN) in Indonesia. This can be inferred from a statistical F probability value that is lower than the significance level of α (0.05), which is 0.0000000 α (0.05). More specifically, individual Per Capita Income has been proven to have a significant influence on the Number of 1-Month Time Deposit Deposits at PT. Bank Tabungan Negara (BTN) in Indonesia. However, individually, the Inflation Rate and 1-Month Time Deposit Interest Rate are not proven to have a significant influence on the Number of 1-Month Time Deposit at PT. Bank Tabungan Negara (BTN) in Indonesia.The ability of the three independent variables to explain the dependent variable is measured by an adjusted R-Square value of 0.878021. This indicates that the contribution of the three independent variables to the dependent variable is about 87.8%, while the remaining 12.2% is influenced by other factors not studied in this study

Si kaya maupun orang miskin, yang lemah maupun orang kuat,  semua merasakan ketidaknyamanan karena kerusakan disana-sini. Hal ini juga berdampak pada usaha kecil mikro pandai besi. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang diusulkan adalah untuk membantu masyarakat dalam usaha kecil sehingga pemasukan ekonomi di era pandemi covid-19 ini tetap selalu eksis dan meningkatkan dalam memproduksi dalam menjalankan usahanya. Metoda yang akan dilaksanakan adalah  membuat sebuah alat mesin tempa pandai besi sistem hammer desa Berancah kecamatan Bantan kabupaten Bengkalis untuk menambah penghasilan diera pandemi covid-19 bertujuan untuk mendapatkan hasil yang optimal terhadap produk yang dihasilkan
