Get PDFDie Fachreferent*innen der SUB Göttingen entwickeln eine Toolbox für den Bestandsaufbau, um aus verschiedensten Datenquellen Titel semi-automatisiert zu selektieren. Für die Entwicklung solcher Tools bzw. Skripte sind IT-Kenntnisse nötig, die im Fachreferat momentan nicht unbedingt vorhanden sind. Verbesserte Aus- und Weiterbildungsinhalte (wie bspw. Library Carpentry) können helfen, diese Kenntnisse zu fördern. Zugleich ist eine Kultur der Kooperation und Arbeitsteilung zwischen den Fachreferent*innen nötig, um vermehrt digitale Tools anwenden und gemeinsam weiterentwickeln zu können.The subject librarians of the SUB Göttingen have created a toolbox for the collection development in order to select books semi-automatically from various data sources. The design of such tools or scripts requires IT skills, which are not necessarily present amongst subject librarians at the moment. Improved education and further training (such as Library Carpentry) can help foster these skills. At the same time, a culture of cooperation and division of labour between the subject librarians is necessary in order to make more use of digital tools and develop them together.

Get PDFDie Universitätsbibliothek Erlangen-Nürnberg, die Universitäts- und Landesbibliothek Sachsen-Anhalt und das Technologieunternehmen SciFlow in Berlin entwickeln gemeinsam die „Open Source Academic Publishing Suite (OS-APS)“, die es Verlagen ermöglichen soll, E-Books einfach und automatisiert ihren Formatvorgaben entsprechend zu erstellen. OS-APS soll einen XML-basierten Single-Source-Publishing-Workflow ermöglichen. Die Software wird Import-, Editier- und Exportfunktionen integrieren, sodass die in Verlagen üblichen Manuskriptformate (z.B. DOCX oder ODT) mit wenigen Mausklicks importiert, analysiert und in das gewünschte Format (z.B. EPUB, PDF, HTML oder XML) im Corporate Design des Verlags umgewandelt werden können. Darüber hinaus werden die Publikationsplattformen Open Journal Systems (OJS) und Open Monograph Press (OMP) sowie die Repositoriumssoftware DSpace an OS-APS angebunden. Um sich im Vorfeld ein Bild von den Anforderungen der Verlage an die Software zu machen, wurde zu Beginn des Projekts eine Anforderungsanalyse in Form einer Online-Umfrage durchgeführt. Dabei wurden Fragen zu Manuskripteingang und -bearbeitung, Publikationsformaten und Zukunftspotenzialen im Verlagswesen gestellt. Die Ergebnisse dieser Umfrage sind in die Entwicklung mit eingeflossen. Im Rahmen des vorliegenden Papers erfolgt zunächst eine kurze Einführung in die Grundlagen des Publizierens mit XML, bevor das BMBF-geförderte Projekt OS-APS inklusive des angedachten Workflows und der einzelnen Softwarekomponenten vorgestellt wird. Im Anschluss daran werden die Ergebnisse der Anforderungsanalyse sowie die daraus entstandenen Schlussfolgerungen für den Workflow ausgeführt. Abschließend wird auf die Einbeziehung der Community und die nächsten anstehenden Entwicklungsschritte eingegangen.The University Library of Erlangen-Nuremberg, the University and State Library of Saxony-Anhalt and the technology company SciFlow in Berlin are jointly developing the “Open Source Academic Publishing Suite (OS-APS)”, which is supposed to enable publishers to create e-books easily and automatically according to their style guidelines. OS-APS will enable an XML-based single-source publishing workflow. The software will integrate import, editing and export functions so that the manuscript formats that commonly occur in publishing houses (e.g., DOCX or ODT) can be imported, analysed and converted into the desired format (e.g., EPUB, PDF, HTML or XML) in the publisher’s corporate design with just a few mouse clicks. In addition, OS-APS will connect to the publication platforms Open Journal Systems (OJS) and Open Monograph Press (OMP) as well as the repository software DSpace. In order to get an idea of the publishers’ requirements for the software in advance, a requirements analysis in the form of an online survey was conducted at the beginning of the project. Questions were asked about manuscript submission and processing, publication formats and future potential in publishing. The results of this survey have been incorporated into the development.
This paper begins with a brief introduction to the basics of publishing with XML before presenting the BMBF-funded project OS-APS, including the envisaged workflow and the individual software components. Get PDFDie Identifizierung von Publikationen, die auf Grundlage von Open Access-Rechten (OA-Rechten) aus Allianz-, National- oder Konsortiallizenzen zweitveröffentlicht werden dürfen, ist bislang mit einem erheblichen, oft manuellen Arbeitsaufwand verbunden. Dazu zählt neben der Feststellung, an welchen Lizenzverträgen mit OA-Rechten die eigene Einrichtung teilnimmt, auch die Ermittlung der darin enthaltenen Zeitschriften. OA-Rechte werden in der Elektronischen Zeitschriftenbibliothek (EZB) strukturiert erfasst und über die OA-EZB-Schnittstelle zeitschriften- und institutionsspezifisch bereitgestellt. Unter Verwendung der OA-EZB-Schnittstelle wird von der Universitätsbibliothek Regensburg ein Online-Analysetool zur Verfügung gestellt, das aus einer Liste von Publikationen automatisch diejenigen identifiziert, die für eine Zweitveröffentlichung in Frage kommen. Identifying publications that may be republished based on open access rights (OA rights) from alliance, national or consortium licenses has so far involved a considerable amount of (often manual) work. This includes not only determining which license agreements with OA rights one’s own institution participates in, but also identifying which journals are affected. OA rights are recorded in a structured manner in the Electronic Journals Library (EZB) and made available on a journal and institution specific basis via the OA-EZB interface. Using the OA-EZB interface, the University Library of Regensburg provides an online analysis tool that, given a list of publications, automatically identifies those that are eligible for self-archiving
