    Interpersonal Conflicts of Occupational Therapy Students with Patients in the Clinical Practice : Strategy differences in experience and gender

    本研究の目的は,実習生の葛藤解決方略において,①実習経験を積むことにより積極的方略が性差なく増加する,②積極的方略の中でも協調的方略が性差なく増加するという仮説の検証である。対象は実習ⅠとⅡの両方を終了した学生のうち同意が得られ,質問紙に両方の実習で葛藤の記載があった136 名とした。方略別に使用度を従属変数とする性別と実習種別の2 要因分散分析を行ったところ積極的方略全てが男女共通で有意に増加したが,「拒否」だけは男子学生のみ増加した。実習ⅠとⅡの変化量を求めt 検定で方略間の比較を行った結果,協調的方略の増加が大きかったが,女子学生では対決的方略の「主張」の増加も大きかった。それ故仮説②は部分的に支持された。女子学生は実習Ⅰで「主張」が少なかったが,臨床では対象者を適切な方向に導くために専門職の立場から強く考えを伝えなければいけないこともあると学んだ結果,実習Ⅱで「主張」が増えたと解釈される。The purpose of this study is to examine two hypotheses regarding changes in occupational therapy student’s conflict resolution strategies in the clinical practice: Active strategies will increase from the level 1 practice to the level 2 (H1) and the increases of collaborative strategies will be larger than those of confrontational ones (H2). In addition, there is no gender difference in degree of inclination. 136 students who finished the clinical practices of level 1 and level 2 voluntarily participated. After each practice they rated how often they used seven strategies in conflicts with patients. ANOVA of each strategy using the level of practice and gender as independent variables indicated that both male and female students significantly increased all the active strategies from level 1 to 2, consistent with H1, but men also increased rejection. T test of the differences in each strategy between level 1 and 2 revealed that the increases in collaborative strategies were significantly larger than those of confrontational ones except assertion among women, meaning that the second hypothesis was only partially supported. Observing that women’s assertion was very low in level 1, we inferred that they have increased it in level 2 from learning through the practice that professional clinicians sometimes must be assertive to effectively perform OT
