    The role of digital content systems used in managing Arab academic scientific journals: An analytical study

    The current research aims to highlight the role of digital content management systems adopted in the man-agement of Arab scientific journals and to indicate its features and characteristics. As well as learning about the available global systems for managing the digital content of scientific journals. The researchers adopted the descriptive approach to achieve the objectives of the research, and the questionnaire was a data collec-tion tool. The questionnaire was distributed to a proportional random sample that included (30) researchers who use digital content management systems for three research sample sites with two journals for each site. The journals are from the OJS platform (Professor for Humanities and Social Sciences and Al-Kufa Journal of Mathematics and Computer), the ASJP platform (the Algerian Journal of Social and Human Sciences, and the Review of Scientific and Technical Information), and the ARID platform (ARID International Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences, and the Arad International Journal of Sciences and technology). The re-search data was presented in the form of tables and graphs and analyzed statistically based on several meth-ods. The research came out with several results, the most important of which is that the Algerian scientific journals website management system (ASJP) represents the best system for researchers to manage journals from the two systems (OJS, ARID).                                                                                                                                             &nbsp

    Reliability of the Tigris River water treatment center in al-Rashidiyah-Baghdad by using Weibull distribution

    The research includes a study of analyzing and evaluating the reliability of turbidity removal and the amount of residual chlorine in the water in the Rashidiya water center located in Rashidiya-Baghdad-Iraq according to the permissible criteria for making decisions based on solid scientific foundations. Thus, water treatment centers in general need a reliable evaluation that helps in evaluating the output Water treatment centers according to the standards set for each center. The research aims to evaluate the reliability of the Rashidiya water center using the two-parameter Weibull distribution, where the distribution parameters were estimated using the least squares method using the (Matlab 2022) program. The chi-square test was used for Goodness of Fit at a significant level of 0.05, through the Easy Fit 5.5 professional program. It was found to be dis-tributed according to the Weibull distribution, and descriptive statistics were calculated for each parameter, and it was found that the mean (and median) of the turbidity values (9.379), which is within the permissible limit, The mean (and median) chlorine values are (0.0279), which is also much less than the permissible limit. The efficiency scale was used to remove turbidity. It was found that the average efficiency of turbidity removal is 71.35%, which is a relatively acceptable level. However, it is necessary to increase the turbidity treatment to raise the level of efficiency. It was found through the Weibull distribution analysis that the value of reliability for the remov-al of turbidity is (0.99), and for the remaining amount of chlorine is (0.99). The research con-cluded that the Rashidiya water center is reliable during the research period. The research rec-ommends evaluating all water treatment centers in Iraq in general, and in Baghdad in particular, periodically and at certain time periods. The research also recommends using the natural loga-rithm distribution as it is suitable for evaluation

    Optimizing multi-antenna M-MIMO DM communication systems with advanced linearization techniques for RF front-end nonlinearity compensation in a comprehensive design and performance evaluation study

    The study presented in this research focuses on linearization strategies for compensating for nonlinearity in RF front ends in multi-antenna M-MIMO OFDM communication systems. The study includes the design and evaluation of techniques such as analogue pre-distortion (APD), crest factor reduction (CFR), multi-antenna clipping noise cancellation (M-CNC), and multi-clipping noise cancellation (MCNC). Nonlinearities in RF front ends can cause signal distortion, leading to reduced system performance. To address this issue, various linearization methods have been proposed. This research examines the impact of antenna correlation on power amplifier efficiency and bit error rate (BER) of transmissions using these methods. Simulation studies con-ducted under high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) regimes reveal that M-CNC and MCNC approaches offer significant improvement in BER performance and PA efficiency compared to other techniques. Additionally, the study explores the influence of clipping level and antenna correlation on the effectiveness of these meth-ods. The findings suggest that appropriate linearization strategies should be selected based on factors such as the number of antennas, SNR, and clipping level of the system

    A low-cost podoscope for extracting morphological features of the foot

    Foot morphology evaluation techniques are commonly used to evaluate foot abnormalities. The foot is es-sential for keeping the biomechanical performance of the lower extremities. It is responsible for the support of body balance and stability during gait. For the qualitative examination of foot morphology, many podo-scopes have been designed. However, these podoscopes are mainly expensive, complex to operate, and have low accessibility. As a consequence the goal of this research was to create a simple, low-cost podoscope to assess the plantar footprint. In addition to providing a visual representation of the supporting regions. The proposed system enables accurate estimation of clinical indexes of foot deformities.  With bare feet, bipedal support, and orthostatic posture, the participant was placed on the podoscope. Doom camera was used to capture the image of the plantar of the foot, and the data was sent to a computer via LAN connection. Based on image processing techniques, the proposed podoscope can automatically estimate the Arch Index, the Chippaux-Smirak Index, the Staheli Index, and Wejsflog\u27s index.Ten samples were tested by the proposed podoscope, and the calculated parameters defining foot deformities are presented. The proposed podoscope appears to have the advantages of simplicity, being portable, inexpensive enabling rapid and precise foot-print assessment with correct diagnoses, as well as a record for future assessments, and being economically viable in countries with people having low socio-economic status

    Machine learning prediction and analysis of students’ academic performance

    Analyzing students’ academic performance is important for evaluating enrollment criteria which establish the standards required for pupils who finished secondary school to gain admission to a higher education institution. The aims of this research were to develop a machine learning prediction Decision Tree classifica-tion model and analyze the performance of engineering students based on their performances during second-ary school education. The performance of students was analyzed and measured as a binomial response whether students successfully finished the first and the second study years. The developed model examined general success, number of awards obtained at competitions, special awards, average grades in mathematics, physics, and one of the official state languages during secondary school as predictor variables. The number of courses transferred from the first into the second study year and students’ GPA obtained during the first study year were added as predictor variables in the analysis and development of a prediction model for the students’ performance during the second study year and their enrollment in the third study year. Developed machine learning prediction model showed that for the performance of enrolled students in the first study year general success of students during secondary school is the most important predictor variable, followed by mathematics and physics grades. However, for the performance of the students enrolled in the second study year the most important predictor variable was number of the courses transferred from the first into the second study year, followed by students’ GPA obtained during the first study year and general success. Machine learning Decision Tree classification modeling was shown to be an adequate tool for the prediction of the performance of engineering students during the first and second study years

    Preparation of biodegradable polymer nanoparticles stabilized with the poly (vinyl alcohol)-sodium dodecyl sulfate mixture: Effect of the lactide/glycolide molar ratio

    Abstract: This study examines the effects of the lactide/glycolide molar ratio on the synthesis of polymeric nanoparticles using a PVA-SDS stabilizers solution. PLA was obtained with a ratio of 100/0, while PLGA was synthesized at ratios of 88/12 and 64/36. Polymerizations employed ROP at 130°C with stannous oc-tanoate and 1-dodecanol as catalysts. Polymerizations were conducted through ring opening at 130°C with stannous octanoate and 1-dodecanol as catalyst and co-catalyst. Characterized polymers were used to pre-pare emulsions stabilized with polyvinyl alcohol (15 g/L) alone or mixed with sodium dodecyl sulfate of various molecular weights (MW=13-23, 31-50 and 85-124 KDa). These emulsions were stored in phos-phate-buffered saline for 28 days at 37.4°C. Colloidally stable emulsions were achieved using different poly (vinyl alcohol) concentrations, with the lactide/glycolide molar ratio influencing particle diameter. The elec-trostatic stabilizer formed by the poly (vinyl alcohol)-sodium dodecyl sulfate mixture demonstrated .Superior stabilization compared to poly (vinyl alcohol) alone, representing a novel finding. Moreover, the poly (vinyl alcohol-sodium dodecyl sulfate) mixture showed reduced water diffusion into the nanoparticles compared to poly (vinyl alcohol) alone, as evidenced by molecular weight and pH measurements. Addition-ally, the degradation of poly (lactic acid) and poly (lactic-co-glycolic acid) films was investigated; pH measurements in the immersed solutions showed that the degradation was increased with higher glycolide content

It analyzes the various dimensions of architecture and its development, as well as the phenomenon of globalization and its impact on local architectural identity. The paper identifies two opposing trends in this context - globaliza-tion ideology and the emphasis on architectural identity. The research problem is focused on the impact of globalization on the local architectural identity of structural design. It aims to find ways to maintain, pro-mote, and develop architectural concepts and local architectural identity. The paper provides a literature review of globalization and explains its constituent parts, aims, and features, including its positive and nega-tive aspects and associated risks. It also explores the findings regarding cultural dimensions of globalization, focusing on the cultural dimension. The paper discusses the relationship between culture, globalization, architecture, and architectural identity while considering an intellectual extent as defined by one of its defi-nitions. Overall, this research aims to provide an optimal solution to counteract the negative impact of glob-alization on architectural identity and promote its development.&nbsp

    Harvesting the digital green: A deeper look at the sustainable revolution brought by next-generation IoT in E-Commerce

    The primary research question investigated was: What is the impact of next-generation Internet of Things (IoT) applications on the e-commerce sector? The specific objectives included exploring the challenges and benefits of IoT in e-commerce and examining the different IoT technologies used in e-commerce. The cur-rent study employed a qualitative method of conducting online interviews among seven participants in the e-commerce industry. A key finding was that IoT generally positively affects the e-commerce sector by im-proving operational efficiency and saving on costs. The advantages of using IoT in e-commerce were also noted to include enabling personalized consumer shopping experience and optimizing supply chain and inventory management that keeps costs. However, increased cybersecurity threat was realized to hurt IoT adoption in e-commerce. The IoT technologies that impacted e-commerce included radio frequency identifi-cation (RFID), sensors, and GPS. One limitation of this study was the small sample size, which restricted the generalization of the results. Meanwhile, one recommendation was that e-commerce firms should be encouraged to adopt IoT technologies to increase their efficiency and profitability in the long run

    Comparison of the traditional exponential weighted moving average chart (EWMA) and modified EWMA chart (MEWMA)

    Any production process that needs statistical control to exit the production process as required, whether from the consumer or producer point of view, and in this research a comparison was made between the two control charts of the modified and traditional exponential weighted moving average chart.The modified chart takes into consideration the autocorrelation that arises between the observations, unlike the traditional chart, which is affected by the autocorrelation between the values of the observations, which leads to giving inaccurate results on the progress of the production process.To clarify the work of the modified chart and compare it with the traditional chart, data representing the temperature of a chemical industrial process was relied on, because such data are autocorrelation, meaning that small or sudden transformations may occur.The two charts were also applied to data taken from the Quality Control Department in the General Facility for Vegetable Oils in Baghdad Governorate affiliated to the Ministry of Industry. The modified chart showed its efficiency and accuracy in detecting deviations in the production process better than the traditional chart

    Design LC oscillator for MF, HF& VHF using both ideal and practical operation amplifier

    In general, the oscillator is a device that used in most circuits and system of electronics, electrical, and telecommunications. There are several kinds of oscillator contingent on frequency band use in a submission such as microwave, audio, and radio frequency. LC oscillator is one of the greatest mutual categories of oscillators, the applications of this oscillator was seemed to be increasing in modern devices, for actual high and very high frequencies to meet the speedy growth of progressive knowledge. That can be secondhand for radio frequency (RF), its productivity signal is frequently applied at the basis of radio communication classification in furthermost applications. In this paper, a designed Colpitts oscillator is covered from voltage amplifier with LC container.
