Get PDFAbstractThe point of departure is the reopening of Musée de l’Homme in Paris in October 2015, after seven years of closure and a total renovation of the interior of the building. The museum has started anew with strongly reduced and partly new collections, with a revised thematic profile, a new collecting programme and new scenography. It has finally become what its founding fathers in the 1930s had wanted it to be – and even something more, that is a museum of mankind’s natural history and nature’s cultural history. The text traces briefly the museum’s history since its reorganization and reorientation in the 1930’s. It was established during a radical leftist political period in France, as a democratic, anti-fascist and anti-racist institution stressing pluridisciplinarity and the unity of mankind. In many ways it was «the cradle» of French social anthropology. On the other hand, it supported French colonialism and the belief in a French civilizing mission. After the war the museum, which was an annex to the National Museum of Natural History, enjoyed a short period of popularity and grandeur as a scholarly institution. But it soon reverted to territorial thinking, compartmentalization and internal quarrels and suffered from a strict supervision from the natural history museum. Its renown faded quickly and just after 2000 it was forced to split and alienate the larger part of its collec-tions and close down – to resuscitate in 2015 as a very promising institution of research and public outreach

Get PDFIdeen om ’Mose lovbok’ har spilt en sentral rolle i både jødisk og kristen tradisjon. Det ideologiske opphavet til denne ideen finner vi i bibelens 5. Mosebok, som forteller at Moses fikk lovene skrevet ned. Han autoriserte så lovboken som ’kanon’ for senere opplesning og undervisning. Femte Mosebok ble således et autoritativt ’minnested’ for minnet om Moses. Hvor har dette kulturelle minnet sitt historiske opphav? Som ’opphavsfortelling’ har minnet fungert identitetsskapende og legitimerende. Slike fortellinger springer alltid ut fra aktuelle behov i skrifttilbliv-elsens samtid. Get PDFDet første nummeret av NOA. Norsk som andrespråk ble utgitt i 1985 ved det som den gangen het Institutt for norsk som fremmedspråk ved Universitetet i Oslo. Bakgrunnen var blant annet et behov for å få publisert mer omfattende forskningsarbeider som var relevante for norskopplæringen av innvandrere, et fagområde som hadde vokst fram raskt i tråd med den økte migrasjonen til Norge på slutten av 1970-tallet. I denne artikkelen analyseres utviklingen av NOA som publiseringskanal, fra NOA ble etablert som et arbeidsskrift med vekt på utprøving og foreløpig publisering til dagens fagfellebedømte, forlagsutgitte tidsskrift, godkjent som del av det norske vitenskapssystemet. Analysen av innhold og av hvem som har publisert i tidsskriftet, er organisert ut fra de tre første tiårene i tidsskriftets historie. I innholdsanalysen av tidsskriftbidragene brukes en videreutvikling av modellene som tidligere er brukt i faghistoriske studier av norsk andrespråkforskning. Resultatene av analysen sammenliknes med resultatene fra disse studiene der andre vitenskapelige tekster innenfor fagområdet er undersøkt: hovedfags- og doktorgradsarbeider (Golden, Kulbrandstad og Tenfjord 2007) og antatte sammendrag til NOA-konferansene (Kulbrandstad 2012)
Norske grammatikkarbeider med et andrespråksperspektiv – en oversikt
Get PDFI denne artikkelen omtaler vi arbeider som beskriver norsk grammatikk i et innlærerperspektiv eller i et generelt kontrastivt perspektiv. Vi tar også for oss grammatikker med konkrete kontrastive framstillinger av norsk sammenlignet med et utvalgt språk. Målgruppe for arbeidene er henholdsvis lærere og innlærere. Vi har valgt tiden fra 1979 og fram til i dag som hovedramme for de publikasjonene vi behandler i artikkelen, men omtaler også grammatiker skrevet for innlærere av norsk forut for denne perioden. 1979 er et skjellsettende år. Dette året ble det utgitt flere bøker med en klar kontrastiv tilnærming til norsk språk, og de språkene som norsk ble kontrastert mot, åpnet opp også for kunnskaper om språk som tidligere ikke var blitt beskrevet på norsk. Fra slutten av 1970-tallet har det også vært store endringer i elevgrunnlaget i skole og voksenopplæring og i demografien i samfunnet ellers. Dette ga behov for økte kunnskaper blant pedagoger om flerspråklighet, om tilegnelse av norsk som et andrespråk og innsikt i norsk grammatikk, men også i de språkene innlærerne brakte med seg. I artikkelen dekker vi språklige systembeskrivelser som omfatter morfologi, syntaks og fonologi. Der det er relevant drøfter vi hvordan perspektiver og utvalg av emner blir annerledes for beskrivelser der mottakergrupper er lærere og innlærere av norsk enn i grammatiske arbeider som har morsmålstalere av norsk som mottakere

Get PDFThe capacity to receive occult messages and look into the future is claimed by individuals in most societies and probably always has been. A century ago, information of such indi-viduals was collected and saved in the Danish Folklore Archives as cultural heritage to be preserved for future generations. Time has shown, however, that the occult is still in demand. In present day Denmark as elsewhere, clairvoyance is a popular service offered at the alternative market for counselling and healing. In contrast to the seers of the past, whom we can only know from the accounts of folklorists and biographers, contemporary clairvoyants often present themselves in auto-biographies, in journals or television programmes and on the internet. Here, the concept of «the highly sensitive person» has emerged as a new term of reference to describe a specific personality trait characteristic of clairvoyants. This article demonstrates continuity in the perception of seers of the past and contemporary clairvoyants as particularly sensitive people although important changes have taken place regarding the ways in which their extraordinary capacities are practiced. This has had important consequences for their societal role and for the ways in which occult messages are communicated

Get PDFAbstractDuring the first decades of the 20th century, a strong regional identity was constructed in the Sørlandet region. This is the southernmost region of Norway and consists of the coun-ties of Aust-Agder and Vest-Agder. The name «Sørlandet» was introduced by the poet and region builder Vilhelm Krag in 1902. The regionalists aimed at making the culture of the region more visible in a national context, but they also worked for other causes, such as to improve the communications with the capital and to develop tourism. In the 1930s, strong regional symbols and images were constructed, in close connection with the current touristic promotion of Sørlandet as «the Riviera of Norway». The article discusses the different elements that were involved in constituting and promoting the regional iden-tity, such as media, different regional organizations, art, literature, popular songs and the tourism industry

Akademiseringen av norsk folkemusikk, jazz og populærmusikk i Norge – the same story?
Get PDFThis article discusses whether comparable traits exist between the academising processes that have taken place within Norwegian folk music and popular music/jazz. A major similarity shared by the said types of music is the concern voiced against education in the field, because there often is a focus on what is rights or wrongs in education. One of the differences is that, when it comes to jazz, pop, rock education, all were established within already existing art music institutions, with the particular challenges this entails. As regards folk music part, this is the case only at one of the three Norwegian institutions offering folk music education on a large scale and at a high level. The remaining two were established as quite new independent academies, as a result of local and individual initiatives. The article also considers whether educational frames and a focus on what is ”right or wrong” in instruction can contribute to the creation of great art within the folk music genre

Get PDFMed den økte innvandringen til landet gjennom de seneste tiårene har det norske språklandskapet endret seg. I tillegg til majoritetsspråket i alle sine dialektale og sosiolektale varieteter og de tradisjonelle mindretallsspråkene preges bildet nå i større grad enn tidligere av norsk snakket med ulike grader og former for utenlandsk aksent og av nye minoritetsspråk. Norge er kjent for uvanlig stor toleranse for bruk av dialekt i sammenhenger der det i andre land snakkes standardtalemål, og det er et interessant og viktig spørsmål om aksentpreget norsk og andre sider av det stigende språkmangfoldet også blir møtt med liknende tolerante holdningene. Siden årtusenskiftet har det vært i gang forskning om dette, og denne artikkelen gjør rede for hovedtemaer og metodiske tilnærminger i denne forskningen, gjennomgår forskningsfunn og relaterer disse til forskning internasjonalt. Temaer og metoder som kan være aktuelle for videre forskning, blir også behandlet
