The Orphan of Zhao (Drama section at Ahmadu Bello University, Nigeria)/《赵氏孤儿》(尼日利亚贝洛大学戏剧部)
This data consist of 11 productions of The Orphan of Zhao created by practitioners from four countries – China, Nigeria, Korea and Britain – and spans a range of theatrical genres: Chinese regional operas; spoken drama and Chinese opera in the Western style as well as dramas in Korean and in English (works by Ahmadu Bello University in Nigeria and by the Royal Shakespeare Company in Britain). Viewers can find the introduction to each of the productions, including the information about the particular genre of each stage work. There are also still images and clips of videos; some production links include critical reviews. These diverse productions not only retell an ancient story of an orphan in China, but also enlighten us about the intriguing fluidity and continuity of human culture.

Data associated with 'Synthetic ferrimagnet nanowires with very low critical current density for coupled domain wall motion'
Domain walls in ferromagnetic nanowires are potential building-blocks of future technologies such as racetrack memories, in which data encoded in the domain walls are transported using spinpolarised currents. However, the development of energy-efficient devices has been hampered by the high current densities needed to initiate domain wall motion. We show here that a remarkable reduction in the critical current density can be achieved for in-plane magnetised coupled domain walls in CoFe/Ru/CoFe synthetic ferrimagnet tracks. The antiferromagnetic exchange coupling between the layers leads to simple N´eel wall structures with a width of only ∼ 100 nm. The measured critical current density to set these walls in motion is 1.0 × 1011 Am−2 , almost an order of magnitude lower than in a ferromagnetically coupled control sample. Theoretical modelling indicates that this is due to nonadiabatic driving of anisotropically coupled walls, a mechanism that can be used to design efficient domain-wall devices
The effect of additives on the early stages of growth of calcite single crystals - dataset
As crystallization processes are often rapid, it can be difficult to monitor the growth mechanisms. In this study, we
made use of the fact that crystallization proceeds more slowly in small volumes than in bulk solution to investigate the effects
of the soluble additives Mg2+ and poly(styrene sulfonate) (PSS) on the early stages of growth of calcite crystals. Using
a “Crystal Hotel” microfluidic device to provide well-defined, nanoliter volumes, we observed that calcite crystals form via an
amorphous precursor phase. Surprisingly, the first calcite crystals formed are perfect rhombohedra, and the soluble
additives have no influence on the morphology until the crystals reach sizes of 0.1–0.5 mm for Mg2+ and 1–2 mm
for PSS. The crystals then continue to grow to develop morphologies characteristic of these additives. These results
can be rationalized by considering additive binding to kink sites, which is consistent with crystal growth by a classical mechanis
Data associated with 'Quasi-continuous frequency tunable terahertz quantum cascade lasers with coupled cavity and integrated photonic lattice'
This dataset contains experimental data presented in the paper titled 'Quasi-continuous frequency tunable terahertz quantum cascade lasers with coupled cavity and integrated photonic lattice'. Quasi-continuous tuning of the emission frequency is demonstrated from a coupled cavity (CC) terahertz (THz) frequency quantum cascade laser (QCL). Such CC lasers comprise of a lasing and a tuning cavity, which are physically separated but optically coupled through a narrow air gap. The lasing and the tuning cavities are operated above and below the lasing threshold current, respectively. The emission frequency from such CC lasers is determined by the Vernier resonance of longitudinal modes in the lasing and the tuning cavities, respectively. Furthermore, emission frequency can be tuned by applying suitable index perturbation to the tuning cavity. The spectral coverage from such THz CC QCLs have been increased by reducing the repetition frequency of the Vernier resonance, and by increasing the ratio of the free spectral ranges of the two cavities. Additionally, wide electrical heating pulses were supplied at the tuning cavity and thermal conduction through the monolithic substrate was exploited to introduce a thermal index perturbation to the lasing cavity itself, thereby enabling a continuous tuning of the CC modes. Single mode emission and discrete frequency tuning over a bandwidth of 100 GHz, and a quasi-continuous frequency tuning of 7 GHz at 2.25 THz is realised. Furthermore, a π-phase shifted photonic lattice is introduced in the laser cavity to obtain a continuous spectral coverage of 3 GHz, without any degradation of output power
