The Theory of Planned Behavior Approach to Enhancing Purchase Intention of Environmentally Friendly Electronic Products Amid the Electronic Waste Crisis

    Get PDF
Green marketing is a strategic approach that emphasizes the importance of sustainability and environmental awareness in marketing activities. One of the pressing issues driving the urgency of this approach is the increasing amount of electronic waste, which is projected to exceed 12,000 tons per day in Indonesia by 2030. Although public awareness of environmental issues is rising, purchasing behavior toward eco-friendly products remains low, indicating a gap between attitude and action. This study employs the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) framework, modified by the addition of the Ethical Obligation variable, to analyze Purchase Intention toward environmentally friendly electronic products. The model includes five main variables: Subjective Norms, Perceived Behavioral Control, Environmental Concern, Attitude, and Ethical Obligation. The results show that Purchase Intention is influenced by Perceived Behavioral Control and Ethical Obligation, while Subjective Norms and Attitude do not have a positive effect on Purchase Intention. Environmental Concern influences Attitude, but not Purchase Intention directly. This research contributes to strengthening green marketing strategies and promoting sustainable consumer behavior. Recommendations include testing other green products and adding external variables such as price, product availability, and media influence as factors that may enhance the understanding of consumer Purchase Intention

Textual Analysis of Annual Reports and Company Performance in a Market Perspective

    Get PDF
This research looks at the connection between a company's financial success and the tone it uses in its annual reports, specifically how an optimistic tone in the MD&A affects the market reaction. Included in the sample are 25 non-financial firms that were listed on IDX30 between 2020-2024. Natural Language Processing (NLP) text mining methods and panel data regression with an event study methodology were used to perform the investigation. The findings provide credence to signalling theory and market efficiency by demonstrating that an optimistic tone significantly impacts Cumulative Abnormal Return (CAR). Companies that have done well financially (high ROE) also have a tendency to sound more hopeful, which is consistent with agency theory. These results prove that annual report narratives are more than just filler; they are powerful instruments of strategic communication that shape how the market perceives a company. Credible and informative narrative disclosures are needed in financial reports, according to this research, which adds to the literature on developing markets

The Influence of Internal and External Factors on Stock Returns in the Transportation Sub-Sector Listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2021–2023

    Get PDF
The objective of this study is to examine the impact of internal and external factors on stock returns of companies in the transportation, logistics, and delivery sectors listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during the period 2021–2023. This research employs a quantitative methodology, and the data were analyzed using SPSS version 27. The findings from the simultaneous regression analysis indicate that four independent variables, Return on Assets (ROA), Debt to Equity Ratio (DER), Return on Equity (ROE), and inflation, jointly have a statistically significant effect on stock returns (Sig. = 0.044 < 0.05). However, the results of the partial (individual) test reveal that only the inflation variable has a statistically significant influence, and the relationship is negative. This suggests that an increase in inflation tends to reduce stock returns

The Influence of Halal Labeling and Product Quality on Purchasing Decisions at Otaku Coffee (Study: Customers at Otaku Coffee in Brass District)

    Get PDF
The global halal economy sector is experiencing rapid growth with market capitalization reaching US$2.4 trillion by 2022, with 60% of halal product purchases made by non-Muslim consumers who consider halal certification as an indicator of superior quality. In Indonesia, the transformation of Muslim consumer behavior shows that the halal label is no longer the sole factor in purchasing decisions, but rather combined with product quality considerations, especially in the more selective millennial and Z generations. This study aims to analyze the influence of halal labeling and product quality on purchasing decisions at Otaku Coffee, a Japanese popular culture-themed cafe business that has never been studied before in the context of a combination of religious identity and foreign pop culture preferences. The benefits of this research are to provide a new understanding of consumer behavior in the international culture-themed food and beverage industry and to fill the void in the literature regarding the unique dynamics between halal and quality aspects in a Japanese cultural cafe business setting. The research method uses a quantitative approach with an analytical descriptive design through multiple regression analysis techniques. The research population is all consumers who buy food and beverage products at Otaku Coffee Kuningan Regency, with purposive sampling technique and a sample size of 100 respondents determined using the Lameshow formula with a confidence level of 95% and a margin of error of 10%. The results showed that the halal label (X1) and product quality (X2) partially and simultaneously had a significant positive effect on purchasing decisions (Y) with a calculated F value of 187.024 and a significance of 0.000 <0.05, and a coefficient of determination (Adjusted R Square of 0.794 or 79.4%, confirming that the two independent variables were able to explain the variation in purchasing decisions very well
