    In early 2020, the coronavirus disease (covid-19) has reached Indonesia and is rapidly spreading. The Province of the Special Region of Yogyakarta is the area with the lowest positive number of covid-19 compared to other provinces on the island of Java. This is certainly inseparable from the decision of the Yogyakarta’s Government, one of which is communication on the @humasjogja Instagram account. Through the content produced, the Instagram account @humasjogja actively urges its followers to be vigilant and comply with the health protocol of covid-19. For this reason, it would be interesting if there was research to determine the magnitude of the influence of Instagram content on the implementation of the COVID-19 health protocol. To answer this problem, Media Dependency Theory is suitable to be used as a research basis because this theory explains that media that can provide individual desires will be considered important and can affect individual behavior changes. This study uses a survey research method to 100 respondents who are followers of the Instagram account @humasjogja and uses a simple linear regression analysis method. The results of the study found that there was an effect of 35.9% of Instagram content on the implementation of the covid-19 health protocol on followers of the Instagram account @humasjogja, and showed a scale of influence that was at a weak level.Keywords: Social Media, Instagram Content, Covid-19, Health Protocol of Covid-19

    Optimism and Problem-Focused Coping on Students during The COVID-19 Pandemic

    The purpose of this research is to explore the influence of optimism on the problem-focused coping of students at Ar-Raniry State Islamic University and to find out the difference in optimism and problem-focused coping between male and female students. Data were collected from 320 students (81 male and 239 female) using a proportional stratified sampling. Data were collected by using two questionnaires, (1) Optimism by using the scale of optimism (Seligman, 2008) and (2) Problem-focused coping by using the Coping scale (Lazarus, 1984). Data were analyzed descriptively, and statistical analysis (hypothesis testing) was done using a simple regression procedure under SPSS/PC Ver.23.00. This study\u27s results indicated a significant positive correlation between optimism and problem-focused coping among students. The respective R-square is 0.166, a result of the coefficient is 0.407. There are no significant differences in problem-focused coping and optimism among students. However, there are significant gender differences, male students are more problem-focused with coping and optimism than female students. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh optimisme terhadap problem focused coping mahasiswa Universitas Islam Negeri Ar-Raniry Banda Aceh dan mengtahui perbedaan optimisme dan problem focused coping diantara mahasiswa laki-laki dan perempuan.  Sampel penelitian ini berjumlah 320 mahasiswa (81 laki-laki dan 239 perempuan) dengan menggunakan proporsional stratified sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan dua kuesioner, (1) Optimisme dengan menggunakan skala optimisme (Seligman, 2008) dan (2) Problem focused coping dengan menggunakan skala Coping Data dianalisis secara deskriptif dan analisis statistik (pengujian hipotesis) dilakukan dengan prosedur simple Regression. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan antara optimisme dengan problem focused coping pada siswa. R-square adalah 0,166, hasil koefisien adalah 0,407. Tidak ada perbedaan yang signifikan dari problem focused coping di kalangan mahasiswa, tetapi ada perbedaan yang signifikan dari jenis kelamin, bahwa laki-laki lebih tinggi problem focused coping dan sikap optimisme daripada mahasiswa perempuan

    LEARNING ISLAM IN A MODERATE WAY: HOW PESANTREN TEACHES ISLAMIC VALUES AND NATIONHOOD TOWARD SANTRI?

    The 9/11 tragedy has brought up negative stereotype to pesantren identified as a radical Islamic educational institution in Indonesia. In April 2022, BNPT (National Counterterrorism Agency) released 198 Islamic boarding schools which affiliated with radicalism. The increasing cases of intolerant acts in Indonesia have been exacerbating the relations among religious communities. This study intends to analyze the roles of two Islamic boarding schools, that are Al-Hikmah and Roudhotut Tholibin, in Indonesia, in producing moderate values of Islam to their students. This study employs a qualitative approach through a case study. Data were collected by observing various activities in the two Islamic boarding schools, FGD, and in-depth interviews with ten informants. The findings showed that Pesantren Al-Hikmah and Pesantren Roudhotut Tholibin taught moderate values of Islam, primarily through the teaching process of the classical book entitled Idhotun  Nasyi\u27in. It provides students with social aspects of interaction with non-Muslims and the values of differences. In doing so, students are also invited to participate in community activities to exercise the values of nationalism in Islamic boarding schools. This research further indicates that pesantren is not a place where radicalism grows but it has become an Islamic educational institution that can produce moderation and national values.Peristiwa terorisme 9/11 silam telah menyisakan stereotype negatif pada pesantren sebagai lembaga pendidikan Islam yang radikal di Indonesia. Pada April 2022 lalu, BNPT (Badan Nasional Penanggulangan Terorisme) telah merilis 198 pesantren yang terafiliasi dengan radikalisme. Hal ini diperburuk oleh data kasus intoleransi di Indonesia yang meningkat. Penelitian ini bermaksud untuk menganalisis dua pesantren yakni Al Hikmah dan Roudhotut Tholibin di Indonesia dalam peranannya memproduksi nilai-nilai moderat dalam berislam kepada para santri. Penelitian dilakukan dengan pendekatan kualitatif melalui studi kasus. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi berbagai kegiatan di dua pesantren tersebut, FGD, dan wawancara mendalam terhadap 10 informan santri. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Pesantren Al Hikmah dan Pesanten Roudhotut Tholibin justru mengajarkan nilai-nilai moderat dalam berislam, khususnya melalui pengajaran kitab klasik Idhotun Nasyi’in. Kitab-kitab beserta dengan tafsir yang diajarkan kepada santri sarat dengan  ajaran-ajakan bagaimana berinteraksi secara baik dengan non-muslim dan kelompok yang berbeda. Santri juga diajak berpartisipasi dalam kegiatan di masyarakat sehingga mampu menumbuhkan benih-benih nasionalisme di pesantren. Penelitian ini selanjutnya menajdi indikasi kuat bahwa pesantren bukanlah tempat tumbuhnya radikalisme, namun justru telah menjadi lembaga pendidikan Islam yang mampu memproduksi nilai moderat dan nilai kebangsaan

    In Indonesia, Stand-up Comedy has become the most popular form of community entertainment, resulting in the emergence of influential youth culture. Stand-up Comedy has become a platform for comics to communicate political aspirations, worries, and criticisms. Three comics from Eastern Indonesia, Arie Kriting, Abdur, and Mamat Alkatiri, have continuously presented Stand-up Comedy material regarding socioeconomic disparity and the availability of public services in their native region. In addition to the aforementioned concerns, education, emancipation, economic, and technological issues are common discussion topics. Typically, Eastern Indonesian comic elements communicate criticisms and worries about inequality and underdevelopment. Due to the presence of some Comics from East Indonesia who regularly expressed and voiced the unrest and backwardness felt by the people of East Indonesia, this issue became popular and garnered widespread attention. This qualitative study analyzes the utilization of satire in stand-up comedy content. This study utilized Barbara Swovelin (2019) concept of Horatian Satire, Friedman\u27s Menippean Satire (2019), and  Van Dijk\u27s Critical Discourse Analysis approach.     This study aims to discuss two important questions related to the causes of low interest in reading for millennials and the right solution to foster millennial literacy interest in Sociology Students, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, UIN Sunan Kalijaga. This research uses descriptive qualitative research method with the type of case study research. This research resulted in an answer that, The low interest in reading among students was due to several things, especially the development of digital technology. The development of digital technology if it is not balanced with self-control in its use can be detrimental to its users and can even be the main cause of the decline in literacy levels among students. However, digital technology can also be an effective stimulant that triggers an increase in reading interest. The lack of parental role in providing literacy culture is a factor that needs to be considered. Literacy interest is also influenced by the presence or absence of facilities for reading, if the facilities are complete and comfortable, it will support students\u27 interest in reading. For some students, the pressure of the task that forces them to read a lot of literature actually becomes a fairly effective stimulant. With these factors, it is clear how the interest in literacy among students is, there are some students whose literacy awareness is still low. However, this can be overcome by providing effective and appropriate stimulants for them.Keywords: Digital Literacy, Digital Skills, Literacy Culture

    NEW MEDIA DAN OTORITAS KEAGAMAAN BARU: ANALISIS WACANA KONSPIRASI RAHMAT BAEQUNI (NEW MEDIA AND NEW RELIGIOUS AUTHORITIES: AN ANALYSIS ON RAHMAT BAEQUNI\u27S CONSPIRACY DISCOURSE)

    New media has provided a wider space for religious preachers to convey their da\u27wah messages to the public. This raises the consequence of the increase of da\u27wah contents that are not properly filtered by religious authorities, including the discourse of conspiracy. In Indonesia, Rahmat Baequni is one of the controversial Muslim preachers who spreads Islamic discourse and conspiracies through YouTube and has a large number of followers (netizens). This article was compiled based on qualitative research with the aim of discussing how Rahmat Baequni built his religious authority on social media through the conspiracy discourse. The results showed that Rahmat Baequni\u27s story telling techniques and interesting way in his delivery were able to \u27attract\u27 young people to believe and follow the messages of his lectures. On the other hand, this phenomenon has raised pros and cons among netizens regarding the validity of the conspiracy discourse initiated by Rahmat Baequni.New media telah memberikan ruang yang luas bagi para penceramah agama untuk menyampaikan pesan-pesan dakwahnya ke masyarakat. Hal ini memunculkan konsekuensi maraknya konten-konten dakwah yang tidak terfilter dengan baik oleh otoritas keagamaan, termasuk dalam hal ini adalah wacana konspirasi. Di Indonesia, Rahmat Baequni adalah salah satu penceramah Muslim kontroversial yang menyebarkan wacana Islam dan konspirasi melalui Youtube dan memiliki followers (netizen) dengan jumlah yang banyak. Artikel ini disusun berdasarkan penelitian kualitatif dengan maksud untuk membahas bagaimana Rahmat Baequni membangun otoritas keagamaannya di sosial media melalui wacana konspirasi.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa teknik story telling dan penyampaian yang menarik dari Rahmat Baequni mampu ‘menarik’ anak-anak muda untuk mempercayai dan mengikuti pesan-pesan ceramahnya tersebut.     COVID-19 DAN DISRUPSI PRAKTIK RITUAL KEAGAMAAN DI INDONESIA: DARI TRADISIONAL KE VIRTUAL (COVID-19 AND THE DISRUPTION OF RELIGIOUS PRACTICES IN INDONESIA: FROM TRADITIONAL TO VIRTUAL)

    Social restrictions during the pandemic have caused Islamic authorities in Indonesia to create a number of adaptations of religious rituals. Worship and socio-religious activities that were previously carried out offline (traditionally) have \u27moved\u27 to digital platforms. Through a descriptive qualitative research approach with virtual data collection techniques on the internet and social media, this article aims to discuss the phenomenon of disruption of Islamic ritual practices in Indonesia during the pandemic. The results show that this disruption phenomenon has led to a number of debates about the validity and reduction of the sacredness of certain worship practices in Islam. However, on the other hand, the process of disrupting religious ritual facilities has also become a new innovation for Islamic organizations such as NU and Muhammadiyah to organize certain worship practices that require a larger mass and cross regions using digital platforms, for example, the practice of praying together (istighosah), dhikr together (tahlilan), and religious lectures.Pembatasan sosial di masa pandemi menyebabkan otoritas Islam di Indonesia melakukan sejumlah adaptasi ritual keagamaan. Kegiatan ibadah dan sosial-agama yang sebelumnya dilaksanakan secara offline (tradisional) telah ‘berpindah’ ke platform digital. Melalui pendekatan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data virtual di internet dan sosial media, artikel ini bermaksud untuk membahas fenomena disrupsi religiusitas Islam di Indonesia di masa pandemi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa fenomena disrupsi ini telah memunculkan sejumlah perdebatan tentang keabsahan dan reduksi sakralitas praktik ibadah tertentu dalam Islam. Namun demikian, di sisi lain proses disrupsi sarana ritual keagamaan ini juga telah menjadi inovasi baru bagi organisasi Islam seperti NU dan Muhammadiyah untuk penyelenggaraan praktik ibadah tertentu yang memerlukan massa lebih besar dan lintas daerah.     This study intends to describe the efforts of the District Government Public Relations. Sleman in building public trust in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic situation. Hoax information results in a decrease in public trust in the government because there is a lot of miss information related to COVID-19 and miss information related to government policies, causing a crisis of trust. Therefore, Government Public Relations has the main task of conveying true information and must be able to build public trust and deal with crisis situations. This type of research is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques were carried out by in-depth interviews with the Public Relations of the District Government. Sleman and literature study. The concept of Public Relations (Cutlip & Center) and the Dimensions of Public Trust (Rawlins) help researchers to explain public relations efforts to build public trust during the COVID-19 pandemic. The results showed that the Public Relations of the District Government. Sleman has been in building public trust and fighting hoaxes by providing fast information through online media, delivering clear, consistent messages and coordinating efforts to build trust. Nevertheless, the researcher considers the efforts to build public trust carried out by the Public Relations of the District Government. Sleman is not yet fully maximized. This is because there is no clear measurement by the Public Relations of the District Government.     SOCIO-ECONOMIC DIMENSIONS OF THE AL-IDRISIYAH TAREKAT IN INDONESIA: DOCTRINE AND PRACTICE

    Tarekat or Sufi order is identical to various spiritual activities, often considered far from worldly life. This identification places Sufism as merely related to mystical and ascetic activities. This study intends to explain how the Al-Idrisiyah tarekat in Indonesia has primary concern on social and economic dimensions in all of their various empowerment programs in the community. The research uses qualitative methods, with data collection techniques of observation and documentation of tarekat activities on mixed social media. The study results show that the practice of the socio-economic dimension is an implementation of their belief that a true Sufi is a Sufi who works and empowers others. Their socio-economic activities have developed to resemble philanthropic activities and can help several community groups affected by the pandemic in 2020-2021.Tarekat atau sufi sering diidentikkan dengan kegiatan spiritual, yang dianggap menjauhi kehidupan duniawi. Identifikasi tersebut menyebabkan tasawuf dianggap dekat dengan hal-hal yang bersifat kebatinan dan asketik.  Penelitian ini bermaksud untuk menjelaskan bagaimana Tarekat Al-Idrisiyah di Indonesia memiliki dimensi sosial dan ekonomi yang diterapkan dalam berbagai program pemberdayaan mereka di masyarakat. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi dan dokumentasi kegiatan-kegiatan tarekat di berbagai sosial media. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa praktik dimensi sosial-ekonomi tersebut merupakan implementasi dari keyakinan mereka bahwa seorang sufi yang benar adalah sufi yang bekerja dan memberdayakan manusia lainnya yang lemah. Kegiatan sosial-ekonomi mereka tersebut berkembang menyerupaikan aktivitas filantropi dan mampu membantu beberapa kelompok masyarakat yang terdampak pandemi di tahun 2020-2021.  

    IMPLEMENTATION OF PARTICIPATORY ACTION RESEARCH (PAR) IN THE DISASTER RESILIENT TOURISM VILLAGE EMPOWERMENT PROGRAM

    The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted many segments of society, including tourist villages in Indonesia. This condition encourages various higher education institutions to help tourism villages recover after the pandemic. UMM (University of Muhammadiyah Malang), through the MBKM (Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka) Program has also participated by carrying out a series of empowerment activities to restore the economic aspects of tourist villages in Pujon, East Java. This village, during the pandemic, experienced a decrease in the number of visitors and the motivation of the managers as well. PAR (Participatory Action Research) has been chosen as an empowerment model in which researchers and informants could join in mapping the problems, finding the solutions, and formulating the joint programs. The findings showed that the PAR model used are proven to be successful in helping empower residents by increasing the motivation of village managers, using technology in marketing various products of residents, and increasing the availability of infrastructure that can improve the quality of services of tourism village managers.Pandemi Covid-19 selama dua tahun ini telah membawa dampak penurunan ekonomi pada banyak segmen masyarakat, termasuk diantaranya adalah desa wisata di Indonesia. Kondisi ini mendorong berbagai institusi pendidikan tinggi untuk membantu desa wisata pulih kembali pasca pandemi. UMM (Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang) melalui Program MBKM (Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka) turut berpartisipasi dengan melakukan serangkaian kegiatan pemberdayaan dalam rangka memulihkan ekonomi desa wisata di Pujon, Jawa Timur. Desa ini selama pandemi mengalami penurunan jumlah pengunjung dan motivasi para pengelola. PAR (Participatory Action Research) telah dipilih sebagai model pemberdayaan, dimana peneliti dan subjek penelitian bersama-sama memetakan persoalan, mencari solusi, dan merumuskan program bersama. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model PAR yang digunakan terbukti berhasil membantu memberdayakan warga, diantaranya adalah meningkatnya motivasi para pengelola desa, penggunaan teknologi untuk dapat beradaptasi dalam memasarkan berbagai produk warga, dan ketersediaan sarana prasarana yang dapat meningkatkan kualitas pelayanan dari pengelola desa wisata
