THE FALL OF PUBLIC RELATION OFFICER AND THE RISE OF INFLUENCER IN THE INDONESIAN GOVERNMENT
The presence of Public Relations Officers in the organization is a must because they’re responsible for establishing good relations between the organization and stakeholders. Good relations between these two will result in harmony. This is a key factor in the success of various programs implemented by the organization. However, it seems that now the role of Public Relations Officers of the Republic of Indonesia Government has begun to decline and be replaced by Influencers starting from the end of 2019 to mid-2020. This research is a case study to describe how the Public Relations Officer of the government of the Republic of Indonesia lost its main function, being heavily replaced by influencers promoting Omnibus Law on social media. Influencers can be a respectable profession if they maintain their quality as public communicators. First, influencers need to have qualifications and competencies relevant to their field. Second, influencers hired by government agencies openly convey to the public that the message sent is a form of a commercial public campaign. Third, government agencies that use influencer services also need to meet the qualifications and competency standards of the influencers they choose. The conclusion is that the government prefers to maximize the function of influencers so that the Omnibus Law gets support from the community rather than maximizing Public Relations Officer. However, the use of influencers must be accompanied by good communication. With this, we can hope that the influencers will develop into a public communication actor that is respectable and acceptable
Family Resilience of The Aspiring Middleclass Facing Covid-19: A Mixed Method Study
The study aimed to develop an explanation of family resilience processes among the aspiring middle-class in Jakarta Greater Area or JABODETABEK during the Covid-19 pandemic. The aspiring middle-class refers to a social class that is not yet a middle-class but will eventually achieve the middle-class status. How do the aspiring middle-class families bounce back from the crisis and become strong and healthy families and it could contribute to comprehending the commonly described social unit that is labeled for its vulnerabilities to any major shocks. This is a mixed-method study with a quantitative approach and enriched with qualitative data. The results showed that most participants come from an aspiring middle-class with a high value on the Family Resilience Assessment Scale (Sixbey, 2005). Furthermore, themes found are family belief system, family organizational pattern, problem-solving communication, health protocol adherence, and family economic condition. The study concluded that multidimensional factors enable the development process of family resilience. Governmental programs for developing family well-being and resilience can take advantage of this research, especially about the multidimensional factors that will be a noteworthy entry point for the intervention of family program enhancement. Abstrak. Studi ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan proses terbentuknya ketangguhan keluarga dari kelas menengah aspiratif (the aspiring middleclass) di Jabodetabek, pada masa berjangkitnya wabah Covid-19. Studi ini bermanfaat untuk menjelaskan bagaimana keluarga-keluarga yang sedang menuju kelas menengah ini menghadapi krisis dan kemudian bangkit kembali sebagai sebuah keluarga yang sehat fisik dan mental. Metode penelitian studi ini adalah metode campuran, dengan penekanan utama pada metode kuantitatif dan pengayaan data melalui pendekatan penelitian kualitatif. Alat ukur yang dipakai bersumber dari pemikiran Walsh (2003), yakni alat ukur Sixbey (2005) The Family Resilience Assessment Scale (Skala Ketangguhan Keluarga). Hasil penelitian dengan metode kuantitatif memperlihatkan sebagian besar responden berasal dari keluarga kelas menengah aspiratif (the aspiring middleclass) dengan level of resilience atau tingkat ketangguhan tinggi. Tema-tema yang muncul dari data kualitatif adalah sistem keyakinan keluarga, pola-pola pengorganisasian keluarga, komunikasi berorientasi pemecahan masalah, kepatuhan terhadap protokol kesehatan dan kondisi perekonomian keluarga. Dapat disimpulkan, studi ini memperlihatkan bagaimana proses ketangguhan keluarga terbentuk melalui pengaruh variabel-variabel mutidimensional. Program-program pemerintah untuk kesejahteraan dan ketangguhan keluarga dapat memanfaatkan hasil penelitian ini, khususnya dengan memanfaatkan temuan-temuan mengenai faktor-faktor yang mesti mendapatkan intervensi meningkatkan ketangguhan keluarga
VARIETY OF “KOPIKO” PRODUCT PLACEMENT IN VINCENZO\u27S KOREAN DRAMA ON TELEVISION: WHAT ARE THE ETHICS?
Product placement or embedded marketing is a marketing technique that unites products or brands in activation or program, such as television programs, events, sports, video games, or movies. This technique is now often found on the screen of Sinetron in Indonesia. For this reason, this study aims to identify the variety of product placement in Sinetron Indonesia to be studied from the perspective of broadcasting ethics in Indonesia. The object of this research is the Korean drama Vincenzo. The concept of product placement used in this research is according to d\u27Astous and Sequin and Přikrylová dan Jahodová. The research method is descriptive qualitative with a study of visual data documentation on these four episodes of the Korean drama Vincenzo. The research found that the variety of product placement used is Integrated Explicit Product Placement. The actor plays an active role in the scene and is expressed formally in the program or plot. The main star clearly shows the attributes and benefits of the central hat. This product placement is no longer implicit or sponsorship but more open. Ethically this can psychologically impact the audience that this is not part of an advertisement but a Sinetron scene. This strategy does not protect the audience. It is because the message is disguised not as an advertisement but as a persuasion function
The Role of Professional Quality of Life in Physical and Psychological Health of Textile Employees
The quality of life in employees is an issue that must be examined as it is a crucial point for organization or industry growth. This study aims to investigate the correlation between professional quality of life with physical and psychological health in textile sector employees. Study was conducted on (N=150, male and female employees) employees from 19 textile companies in Lahore city, Pakistan. A correlational research design was used, and sample was selected by using stratified sampling technique. A series of questionnaire (Professional Quality of life and (SF-12) Short Form-12 Health survey) was administered to employees after taking consent from the them. The results indicate that quality of life has relationship with physical and psychological health. Specifically, compassion satisfaction aspect has positive significant relationship with physical and mental health component while inverse relationship with burnout and compassion fatigue. When compassion satisfaction increases, the physical and psychological health of the workers improved and vice versa. Similarly, when burnout and compassion fatigue increase, it affected the physical and psychological health of the workers. It is recommended to the organization to make plans and policies to boost up employees mental and physical health. Kualitas hidup karyawan merupakan masalah yang harus diperhatikan terutama dalam dunia kerja. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kualitas hidup professional dengan kesehatan fisik dan psikologis pada karyawan sektor tekstil. Studi dilakukan pada (N=150, karyawan pria dan wanita) karyawan dari 19 perusahaan tekstil di kota Lahore, Pakistan. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah korelasional, dan sampel dipilih dengan menggunakan teknik stratified sampling. Serangkaian kuesioner (Professional Quality of life dan (SF-12) Short Form-12 Health survey) diberikan kepada karyawan setelah mendapat persetujuan dari mereka. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kualitas hidup memiliki hubungan dengan kesehatan fisik dan psikologis. Secara khusus, aspek compassion satisfaction memiliki hubungan positif yang signifikan dengan komponen kesehatan fisik dan mental, sedangkan hubungan terbalik dengan burnout dan compassion fatigue. Ketika compassion satisfacion meningkat, kesehatan fisik dan psikologis pekerja meningkat dan sebaliknya. Demikian pula ketika burnout dan compasison fatigue meningkat, hal itu mempengaruhi kesehatan fisik dan psikologis para pekerja. Disarankan kepada organisasi untuk membuat rencana dan kebijakan untuk meningkatkan kesehatan mental dan fisik karyawan
Sosialisasi KKN Pandemi Covid-19 melalui Strategi Komunikasi LP2M UIN Raden Fatah Palembang
Terjadinya pandemi Covid-19 membuat perubahan dan pembaruan yang diharuskan ditengah-tengah kehidupan bermasyarakat. Juga pada pengamalan Tridharma Perguruan Tinggi UIN Raden Fatah, kegiatan KKN ke-73 berbeda dengan sebelumnya, dengan perbedaan dan perubahan baru LP2M diharuskan melakukan sosialisasi kepada semua pihak yang terlibat pelaksanaan dan penyelenggaraan KKN. Adapun masalah dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mencari tahu strategi komunikasi yang digunakan oleh LP2M UIN Raden Fatah Palembang saat melaksanakan sosialisasi KKN-73, serta tantangan yang harus dihadapi. Metodelogi penelitian yang digunakan merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif melalui observari, wawancara dan dokumentasi, yang diolah dan dianalisis menggunakan teknik analisis data model Miles dan Huberman. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori strategi komunikasi yang dikemukakan oleh Middleton, bahwasanya strategi komunikasi adalah komunikasi yang terbaik dari semua elemen komunikasi mulai dari komunikator, pesan, saluran (media), penerima sampai pada pengaruh (efek) yang dirancang untuk mencapai tujuan komunikasi yang optimal. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa strategi komunikasi yang digunakan oleh LP2M UIN Raden Fatah Palembang cukup optimal, dalam pelaksanaan sosialisasi kepada para peserta KKN menggunakan perantara media aplikasi Zoom Meeting sebagai media utama sosialisasi, penggunaan media ini terdapat tantangan tersendiri baik bagi penyelenggara maupun peserta, untuk mengatasinya digunakan media grup Telegram untuk menyampaikan informasi KKN-73 setelah sosialisasi utama selesai, sehingga KKN-73 Pandemi Covid-19 berjalan lancar.Keywords:Strategi Komunikasi, Sosialisasi KKN, Pandemi Covid-19
Menemukan Kembali Identitas Diri : Proses Resosialisasi pada Orang Dengan Skizofrenia
This research aims to identify the process of resocialization people with schizophrenia (ODS) go through to rediscover their identity and social functioning in society. The participants of the research consisted of two key informants and three significant others who were selected using a purposive technique. The research used a qualitative method with a case study approach. The data were collected through semi-structured interviews and observations and were analyzed by applying thematic analysis techniques. The results showed that both key informants went through various processes to find their social functioning. The first process was the emergence of early symptoms. The second process was desocialization. The third process was the course of the disorder, which includes the appearance of advanced symptoms, stages of treatment, and post-hospitalization changes. The fourth process was the dynamics of society toward ODS. And the next process is ODS’s adjustment to the new identity. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi proses resosialisasi yang dialami oleh penderita skizofrenia (ODS) untuk menemukan kembali identitas dan fungsi sosialnya di masyarakat. Partisipan penelitian terdiri dari dua informan kunci dan tiga orang significant others yang dipilih dengan teknik purposive. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara semi terstruktur dan observasi serta dianalisis dengan teknik analisis tematik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kedua informan kunci melalui berbagai proses untuk menemukan fungsi sosialnya. Proses pertama adalah munculnya gejala awal. Proses kedua adalah desosialisasi. Proses ketiga adalah perjalanan gangguan, yang meliputi munculnya gejala lanjut, tahap pengobatan, dan perubahan pasca rawat inap. Proses keempat adalah dinamika masyarakat menuju ODS. LEISURE, SAFETY, AND SUSTAINABILITY ON POST-PANDEMIC TOURISM: A SYSTEMATIC LITERATURE REVIEW
Tourism is one of the most affected industries by the COVID-19 pandemic. Globally, in less than 6 months after the outbreak of the epidemic, this sector experienced a decline of up to 74%--as it set back to 1990s. However, many tourism-related studies include the keyword or even the title \u27post-pandemic\u27 which implies a nuance of optimism for the tourism sector. Using a systematic literature review (SLR), this article explores studies that include keywords and topics \u27post-pandemic\u27 in global and Indonesian contexts. Three main points were found: First, there is a global fact that local scale tourism is more sustainable than regional and international tourism. Second, behind the losses due to the decline in income during the pandemic, there is a hidden benefit in the form of restoring natural resources that have been damaged by tourism activities. Third, the emergence of a more systematic mapping of tourist preferences in determining tourist destinations and activities, which is more oriented towards safety, health, and strengthening social relationships with family and colleagues rather than excitement and offering lower cost discounts. The article also found that most post-pandemic tourism recommendations tend to be non-operational due to their failure to provide an operational definition of what the meaning of \u27post-pandemic\u27.Pariwisata merupakan salah satu industri yang paling terdampak akibat pandemi Covid-19. Secara global, dalam waktu kurang dari 6 bulan setelah mewabahnya epidemi, sektor ini mengalami penurunan hingga 74%--kembali ke volume tahun 1990. Namun, banyak penelitian terkait pariwisata memasukkan kata kunci atau bahkan judul \u27pasca pandemi\u27 yang menyiratkan nuansa optimisme terhadap sektor ini untuk bangkit. Dengan menggunakan sistematika literature review (SLR), artikel ini mengeksplorasi kajian yang memasukkan kata kunci dan topik \u27pasca-pandemi\u27 dalam konteks global dan Indonesia. Tiga poin utama ditemukan: Pertama, adanya fakta global bahwa pariwisata skala lokal lebih berkelanjutan daripada pariwisata regional dan internasional. Kedua, di balik kerugian akibat penurunan pendapatan selama pandemi, terdapat keuntungan tersembunyi berupa pemulihan sumber daya alam yang telah rusak akibat kegiatan pariwisata. Ketiga, munculnya pemetaan preferensi wisatawan yang lebih sistematis dalam menentukan destinasi dan kegiatan wisata, yang lebih berorientasi pada keselamatan, kesehatan, dan penguatan hubungan sosial dengan keluarga dan rekan kerja daripada kegembiraan dan penawaran diskon biaya yang lebih rendah. PREVENTION OF INTOLERANCE THROUGH IMPLEMENTATION OF ISLAMIC COMMUNICATION IN RELIGIOUS MODERATION
The cases of violence due to religious intolerance occurred in Indonesia. The problem of intolerance disturbs the nationhood and state. It should be handled as early as possible to prevent it from developing into radicalism, extremism, and terrorism. The article discusses the issue of intolerance in Indonesia, particularly in Yogyakarta, and emphasizes the need for the government and society to use Pancasila as a guideline to prevent intolerance. It advocates implementing Islamic communication in religious moderation as a step to counter intolerance. The integration between communication science and Islam is highlighted, focusing on principles of communication and da\u27wah in the Qur\u27an. The article cites verses from the Qur\u27an and quotes various scholars and experts to support its argument. This study used a qualitative descriptive method based on interviews, observations, and documentation results. This study was conducted to see how the prevention of intolerance through the application of Islamic communication as a basis for developing religious moderation in the Office of the Ministry of Religion of Sleman Regency works. The research results shows that the nine principles of Islamic communication are optimized to maintain religious moderation. The research also found that Islamic communication based on the principles of the Qur\u27an can be an effective tool to promote religious moderation and prevent intolerance in Indonesia. The integration of communication science and Islamic values is seen as essential in achieving harmony and peaceful coexistence among diverse communities
Peran Kognisi Sosial dan Schadenfreude Terhadap Empati Pada Mahasiswa Universitas Negeri Malang
Empathy is very important not only in social life but also to create communication in counseling in the field of psychology and counseling guidance. The emergence of empathy in an individual can be influenced by social cognition and schadenfreude. For this reason, the objective of this study was to clarify the role of social cognition and schadenfreude in empathy in State University of Malang undergraduate students majoring in psychology and counseling guidance. This study was quantitative with a correlational approach. This study also uses several measuring instruments such as The Edinburgh Social Cognition Test (ESCoT) to measure social cognition, the Schadenfreude measuring instrument created by Alison Baren to measure Schadenfreude, and the Interpersonal Reactivity Index (IRI) to measure empathy. Hypothesis testing was conducted using multiple regression analysis. The results found that there was a role for social cognition and Schadenfreude on empathy which shows that the greater the social cognition ability, the better the empathy ability. However, increases in Schadenfreude behavior can reduce the ability to empathize. This study can be used as a reference for creating modules for psychology majors, guidance and counseling majors, and other parties to increase empathy in individuals by training social cognition skills. Abstrak. Empati merupakan hal yang penting dalam kehidupan sosial. Empati sangat dibutuhkan dalam proses konseling psikologi. Munculnya empati pada seseorang dapat dipengaruhi oleh kognisi sosial dan schadenfreude. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengklarifikasi peran kognisi sosial dan schadenfreude dengan empati pada mahasiswa program sarjana jurusan Psikologi dan Bimbingan Konseling Universitas Negeri Malang. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode korelasi. Alat ukur yang digunakan yaitu The Edinburgh Social Cognition Test (ESCoT) untuk mengukur kognisi sosial, alat ukur Schadenfreude yang dibuat oleh Alison Baren untuk mengukur schadenfreude, dan Interpersonal Reactivity Index (IRI) untuk mengukur empati. Pengujian hipotesis dilakukan dengan analisis regresi berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat peran kognisi sosial dan schadenfreude terhadap empati. Dimana hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa semakin baik kemampuan kognisi sosial, maka akan semakin baik pula kemampuan empati yang dimiliki. Namun, apabila perilaku schadenfreude yang dimiliki tinggi, maka hal tersebut dapat menurunkan kemampuan empati yang dimiliki. HALAL INFLUENCERS: A REPRESENTATION OF THE TREND OF HALAL-FOOD CONSUMPTION AMONG THE INDONESIAN MUSLIM MIDDLE CLASS
Nowadays, the interest of the world\u27s Muslim community in the consumption of halal food has increased. As a country with the largest Muslim population in the world, Indonesia has played important roles in halal-food consumption with attractive trends in the making. In this case, the role of halal influencers on social media is absolute significant in which their presences have shed light on the issue and influenced the trends . This research intends to track the strategy and impact of Muslim influencers in fostering cultural aspects of of halal-food consumption in Indonesia, particularly among Generation Z. This study employed a qualitative approach by using netnography through some influencers’ accounts, such as @aishamaharani, @dianwidayanti, and @anca.id. The findings showed that halal-food influencers could lead generation Z through the trend of halalness into the rules and resources in order to form a new Muslim middle class in encouraging the halal ecosystem in Indonesia.Dewasa ini, minat masyarakat Muslim dunia terhadap konsumsi makanan halal telah meningkat. Indonesia, meskipun merupakan negara dengan jumlah penduduk Muslim terbesar di dunia, konsumsi makanan halal telah berkembang menjadi sebuah trend di kalangan Muslim. Hal ini tidak lepas dari pengaruh halal influencer di sosial media. Penelitian ini bermaksud untuk melacak strategi dan dampak influencer Muslim dalam menumbuhkan budaya konsumsi halal di Indonesia, khususnya di kalangan generasi Z. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif melalui netnografi, menelusuri akun-akun halal influencer, seperti @aishamaharani, @dianwidayanti, dan @anca.id. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa influencer Muslim mampu menggiring generasi Z melalui trend konsumsi halal ke dalam rules dan resource yang mereka harapkan dapat menjadi sarana pembentukan kelas menengah Muslim baru untuk mendorong ekosistem halal di Indonesia
