    Study of the verses of Qur’an will never run out anytime, becauseQur’an is a salih likulli zaman wa makan that is always needed toanswer the problems of times. The purpose of this study is to find outthe essence of modern interpretation which presented by Mun’im(1971), while the type of research chosen in this study is a libraryresearch which is studied with an analytical-descriptive method topresent the explanations related to modern interpretation in Mun’imSirry’s view, assisted by Hans George Gadamer’s theory, especiallyin his pre-understanding theory and his horizon theory as a bridgeto dissect Sirry’s thoughts regarding modern interpretation. Theresult research show that the interpretation of Qur’an has beencontinuously carried out by mufasir or commentators to solve thechallenges modern era. By producing interpretive works that arecompatible with each era. In the interpretation Mun’im Sirry’s,not all interpretations which born in this modern era can becategorized as modern, modern interpretations is the extent ofthese interpretations that have contribution to modern reality. Hecontinued, the Quran interpretation at the moment is almost nodifferent from the classical interpretation

    Al-Qur’an was revealed by Arabic which was commonly used in the 7th century. As the spread of Islam to many countries, language transfer of the Qur’an becomes a necessity. In Indonesia, translation began with Tarjuman al-Mustafid in the 17th century. Translation became lively in the 20th century. In addition to translation, poetry translations have also emerged. This study reviews the work of Mohammad Diponegoro, Kabar Wigati dan Kerajaan: Puitisasi Terjemahan Al-Qur’an Juz ke-29 dan ke-30, which was originally published in 1977. This work is in the form of lyric poetry and is classified as a new type of poetry. Diponegoro called his work: the poetic translation of the Qur’an, not the poetic translation as HB Jassin’s work. Mukti Ali called this work as art that was born from the Qur’an. In poetry, words are the key, which connects the reader to the poet’s ideas and intuition. Diponegoro arranges linguistic elements and diction choices like poetry in general. Understanding a poem requires an intensification process. This library research will review the poetry of Diponegoro’s translation of the Qur’an with a historical, literary, hermeneutical-interpretative approach

    This article discuss about Harun Nasution’s thought in doctrine of Islam, particularly relate with his thought about observance verses in al-Qur’ān. He is one of the figure indonesian modernist because his effort to criticize understanding society that be judged taqlid or a reclusive gesture and closing the ijtihad doors. In his opinion, the advances of science in the time of classical Islam period were none other than due at that time the ijtihad doors were wide open. Therefore, the notion held by Harun Nasution is the rational theology as adopted by Muhammad Abduh who is also close to Mu’tazilah. Harun argued that in the doctrine of Islam, divided inti two doctrines, that are unchangeable teachings, and then adaptable teachings that could be changed. The unalterable doctrine is like the Qur’anic text that is the source of the doctrine of Islam. As for the interpretation or understanding of the Qur’anic text includes something that can be changed in which it’s understanding is tailored to the needs of the ages

    The treasure of interpretation in Indonesia from generation to generation has developed and is very relevant to be studied further. The development of interpretation studies will have a positive impact on the advancement of Indonesian culture as well. So many interpretations in regional languages are evenly distributed in Indonesia, one of them is the interpretation of Taj Al-Muslimin min Kalami Rabbi Al-Alamin, the second work of KH Misbah Musthafa. This interpretation which only consisted of 4 volumes did not finish until 30 juz because KH Misbah Mustafa had died. This interpretation work uses Javanese and is written using the pegon script. Pegon script is a script only known since the colonial period which was used by Indonesians to give news to others so that the invaders could not read. This then developed into a pattern of writing the interpretation of the archipelago, especially in Java. By using a historical approach and a qualitative method with descriptive analysis, this paper examines in detail the aspects of locality in the second interpretation of KH Misbah Mustafa. Finally, it can be mapped into three aspects of locality, namely locality in appearance, communication and interpretation, all of which are contained in the second book of interpretation by KH Misbah Mustafa

    Intelligence is a term which is identic with spy activity or in this case called Tajassus. Even so, its objective in preventing the threat which can destroy. The security is really necessary so that this thing brings a question that ‘Does prohibition of Tajassus as stated in Q.S al-Hujurat verse 12 become relevant if it is related with spy activity which is done by intelligence corporation?’ Based on the issue it is necessary to do re-reading toward the vers, in which in this case the author uses contextual interpretation Metho stated by Abdullah Saeed, in reading this verse. Contextual interpretation effort toward Q.S al-Hujurat:12 find some results as follows: The first macro context: The forbidden Tajassus in this context is Tajassus which is based on Camal desire anda bad predjudice without any foundation anda have a purpose to gossip the found informatin. The second macro context: The spy activity done by the Intelligence corporation which becomes a definite in a country is different with Tajassus activity as stated in the first context. Spy done by the Intelligence corporation is executed with indication foundation or certain signs which have the quality in threatening a country

Melalui pendekatan intertekstualitas dapat dikatakan bahwa buku Wawasan Alquran bermula dari pengajian yang secara khusus diberikan kepada para eksekutif di Masjid Istiqlal. Penafsirnnya yang mengacu pada tema-tema khusus menggiring kepada bahwa M. Quraish Shihab menulis tafsirnya dalam Wawasan Alquran dengan metode tematik. Nuansa sosial-kemasyarakatan yang muncul dari penafsiran-penafsiran M. Quraish Shihab dalam Wawasan Alquran memberi kesan bahwa penafsiran M. Quraish Shihab bercorak adabi ijtima’i. Teks-teks lain yang berfungsi sebagai penguat atas penafsiran M. Quraish Shihab dalam Wawasan Alquran paling tidak datang dari H.A.R. Gibb, Muhammad Abduh, Sayyid Muhammad Rasyid Ridha, Ibn Khaldun, Ibn Asyur, Raghib Al-Isfahani, Mahmud Syaltut, Al-Ghazali, Ibn Faris, Newton dan Homer, Nazme Luck, Michael Hart, William James, Mustafa Al-Kik, dan beberapa tokoh terkemuka lainnya seperti Alexis Carrel dan Muhammad Imarah.     The study of Asbabun Nuzul as seen by some scholars is very important to be used in interpreting the texts of the Qur’an. Mufassir scholars never separated from a historical text of the Koran. However, the use of the asbabun nuzul qur’an theory of classical clerics often only looks at the context of the fall of the verse so that among some contemporary thought try to reconstruct the asbabun nuzul qur’an theory in this present era. Specifically, interpreting the text of the Qur’an through its history by looking at several structures namely, First, Seeing asbabun nuzul qur’an macro. Second, see the asbabun nuzul qur’an micron in determining the true values of the Qur’an. The approach used in this paper is the literature study approach to find various concepts of Asbabun Nuuz theory through books, journals, and so on. the conclusion is that the asbabun nuzul al-Qur’an theory basically does not only refer to the historical context of the fall of verses in earlier times, but is contextualized with the relation between macro and micro to find meaning and values in the substance of the text of the vers

    Perkembangan teknologi diera saat ini memang sedang berada dipuncaknya. Berbagai macam teknologi telah dirancang khusus untuk memudahkan setiap kegiatan manusia, terutama dalam bidang kajian tafsir Alqur’an dan hadits. Telah muncul beberapa software dan aplikasi guna menunjang kajian Alqur’an dan Hadits , salah satunya yaitu software aplikasi mausu’ah at-tafsir wa ‘ulumil qur’an. Software yang belum lama dipublikasikan ini memiliki beberapa manfaat dan keuntungan bagi si pengguna, software ini pula memiliki tata cara penggunaan tersendiri, baik dari proses download, install dan lain-lain.Karena itu tulisan ini dibuat untuk menerangkan secara sederhana bagaimana sejarah software ini dibuat, bagaimana cara penggunaannya, dan bagaimana keevektifitasnya. Dengan ini diharapkan pula software mausu’ah dapat bermanfaat bagi para pengguna khususnya dalam bidan kajian alqur’an dan hadits

    Mystical Living Qur’an: Resepsi Masyarakat Bismo Batang Terhadap Mushaf Al-Qur’an Kuno

    This study will question some of the mystical traditions surrounding the ancient Qur’an manuscriptsin the wali’s grave of BismoBatang Central Java Indonesia. This research takes the form of field research by completing the Living Qur’an studywhich aims to find the mystical views of the Bismo community on the existence of the Qur’anic manuscripts and the factors underlying them.The results of the study found that the Bismo community believes that the Manuscripts of Al-Qur’an in the Bismo tomb area are a relic of some wali’s who used to spread Islam in the area. Consequently, the historic site was finally accepted mystically by the public and marked by the emergence of a ritual called “istikharah” by opening the Al-Qur’an and the haul program depending on the results of the ritual istikharah by opening the Qur’an. Bismo mystical belief in the existence of Qur’anic manuscripts is influenced by myths about tradition called by “Nyunggi Qur’an”(carrying the qur’an) which is believed to have existed in the wali’s era. This phenomenon proves the occult tradition of the Bismo community in their respond to the Qur’an. The Qur’anic text which lives in the midst of society is mystically received through various ascetic rituals, so this practice can be said to be a Mystical Living Qur’anic phenomenon that develops in rural communities
