    No full text
Political events are one of the events that can affect stock prices because these events are related to the stability of the country's economy. The political event that wants to be tested for its information content on the capital market in Indonesia is the announcement of the 2024 presidential election results. Investor reaction can be measured through two variables, namely abnormal return and trading volume activity. This study aims to determine the reaction of the capital market in Indonesia to the announcement of the 2024 election results on the capital market with an event study approach. This study uses a comparative study method and a market model approach in calculating expected returns. The research period is an estimation period of 17 days and an observation period of 11 days. The sample determination used purposive sampling technique and examined 78 issuers from 86 energy sector issuers listed on the IDX. The results showed no difference in abnormal returns and trading volume activity in the period before and after the announcement of election results. In terms of abnormal returns, it shows that the announcement of election results does not contain information that can cause the market to react. Meanwhile, in terms of trading volume activity, investors tend to focus on long-term analysis related to the policies of the new government so as not to make hasty decisions in investing

Abstract The purpose of this study is to analyze the dominance of national products in the Surabaya youth market segment and the factors that influence consumer preferences and behavior in choosing national products over imported products. Using a case study approach with a qualitative descriptive method. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, with 18 students of Bhayangkara University Surabaya as research subjects who were selected using purposive sampling techniques based on diverse social and economic backgrounds. The results of the study show that the majority of teenagers prefer national products due to several main factors, namely more affordable prices, adequate quality, and wider product availability in various distribution channels, both physical stores and e-commerce platforms. In addition, nationalism is also a driving factor, where some teenagers feel proud to use domestic products and want to support the local economy. Social media plays an important role in shaping this preference, especially through digital marketing campaigns and local influencer endorsements. Teenagers' consumption patterns for national products are dominated by brand loyalty, recommendations to friends, and positive reviews in online purchases. These findings provide insight for local producers to continue to improve marketing strategies, product innovation, and strengthen brand engagement in order to maintain the dominance of national products in the youth segment. The creative industry also has a fast-paced work dynamic and a constant demand for innovation, requiring employees to always be creative and productive, often at the expense of work-life balance, where the boundaries between work time and personal time become blurred. Employees who experience high levels of stress and struggle to maintain work-life balance tend to have a higher turnover intention. This study aims to analyze the effect of job stress and work-life balance on turnover intention among employees of PT Gamester Legenda Indonesia. The research employs a quantitative method and a saturated sample, with a total of 75 respondents consisting of employees of PT Gamester Legenda Indonesia. Data collection was conducted using a questionnaire containing questions related to job stress, work-life balance, and turnover intention. The collected data were analyzed using multiple linear regression, multicollinearity test, t-test, F-test, as well as correlation and determination tests using SPSS Version 26 software. The results indicate that job stress has a significant effect on turnover intention. Meanwhile, work-life balance does not have a significant effect on turnover intention, suggesting that maintaining a balance between work and personal life can reduce employees' desire to change jobs. Overall, both factors have a significant influence on employees' turnover intention at PT Gamester Legenda Indonesia. This study recommends that PT Gamester Legenda Indonesia enhance policies to reduce job stress and pay more attention to employees' work-life balance to lower turnover intention rates. Plastic waste is one of the biggest environmental issues in the modern world, due to the nature of conventional plastics that are difficult to decompose. This study reviews the potential for making biodegradable plastics from various combinations of chitosan from shrimp shell waste with other materials. This combination aims to improve the mechanical properties, biodegradability, and moisture resistance of plastics. The literature review method is used to identify the best formulation through analysis of materials, methods, and test results from various studies. The study showed the best test results in a combination of chitin and glycerol which had a tensile strength value of 38 Mpa, % elongation of 30%, and a degradation time of 25 days. The results show that chitosan is able to increase tensile strength and accelerate plastic biodegradation. Challenges such as low plastic flexibility still require formulation optimization, including the addition of plasticizers from glycerol. This study provides a comprehensive insight into the potential of bioplastics based on local Indonesian resources as an alternative to conventional plastics

A video depicting a Papuan citizen, Definus Kogoya, being brutally beaten by members of the Indonesian National Armed Forces inside a water drum went viral on the social media platform X on March 22, 2024. This incident quickly attracted widespread public attention and became a major topic of discussion in Indonesia. Among the various media outlets covering the issue, Detik and Tempo emerged as the most prominent, publishing a combined total of 41 news reports. The objective of this research is to analyze the messages conveyed through the framing of news coverage by these two media organizations. The study employs the framing analysis approach developed by Gamson and Modigliani, which focuses on how media select and present news stories, including the choice of words, images, and the overall focus of reporting. A qualitative approach is utilized to enable a more comprehensive and in-depth exploration of the issue. Gamson and Modigliani’s framework distinguishes between framing devices—such as metaphors, catchphrases, exemplars, depictions, and visual images—and reasoning devices, which include identifying root causes, appeals to principle, and highlighting consequences. Primary data for this research were collected from online news articles, while secondary data were sourced from relevant books and academic journals. The research sample consists of 13 news reports, with 6 articles from Detik.com and 7 from Tempo.co. The findings reveal significant differences in how the two media outlets frame the incident. Detik.com tends to present the persecution of Definus Kogoya as an event triggered by allegations of arson at a local health center, focusing on the immediate context of the incident. In contrast, Tempo.co frames the event as part of a longstanding, deep-rooted conflict in Papua, attributing the violence to the government’s failure to take decisive action in resolving the broader conflict. These findings highlight how media framing can shape public understanding of sensitive issues and underscore the importance of critical analysis in interpreting news coverage within a wider socio-political context. Legitimate Prejudice in Legal Interpretation: Gadamer's Hermeneutics as an Analytical Framework

    Get PDF
Legal interpretation is often influenced by certain prejudices or preconceptions that are regarded as legitimate in the process of understanding legal texts. These prejudices are not necessarily irrational or unfounded; rather, they form part of the interpreter's horizon, shaped by history, culture, and prior knowledge. This article explores the concept of legitimate prejudice within the realm of legal interpretation, using Hans-Georg Gadamer’s philosophical hermeneutics as its analytical framework. Gadamer’s approach offers a nuanced understanding of how meaning emerges through the fusion of horizons between the legal text and the interpreter’s situated perspective, highlighting the productive role of prejudice in the interpretive process. Gadamer's hermeneutics offers an approach that emphasizes the importance of dialogue between the text, the reader, and its historical context. In the context of legal interpretation, legitimate prejudice is not merely viewed as an obstacle but also as a constructive element that enables the creation of legal meaning that is more relevant to social dynamics. This article examines how Gadamer's "fusion of horizons" can help legal practitioners and scholars bridge legal texts with contemporary moral, social, and cultural values. This study employs a normative juridical method combined with a philosophical and hermeneutical approach. The normative juridical method focuses on the analysis of legal norms, principles, and doctrines as they are formulated in legal texts and judicial decisions. Meanwhile, the philosophical approach is used to explore the epistemological foundations of legal interpretation, particularly concerning the role of prejudice and preconceptions in shaping legal meaning. The philosophical approach is used to analyze the concept of prejudice in legal interpretation within the broader framework of legal philosophy and epistemology. Meanwhile, the hermeneutical approach, particularly drawing from Gadamer’s theory, is applied to examine how interpretative prejudices shape and influence the legal decision-making process. This perspective allows for a deeper understanding of how legal meaning is not simply derived from the text itself, but is co-constructed through the interaction between the interpreter’s historical context, normative assumptions, and the legal text. By integrating Gadamer’s hermeneutic principles into the practice of legal interpretation, this article aims to contribute to the development of a more inclusive, critical, and value-oriented theory of legal interpretation

Producer's Liability for Expired Products: Theoretical and Legal Analysis

    Get PDF
One of the consumer rights guaranteed in the laws and regulations is the right to obtain safe and healthy products and the right to obtain an expiration date. The right to obtain information in the form of an expiration date is closely related to product safety. Through this information, consumers can find out whether a product is still suitable or not. If consumers do not obtain information in the form of an expiration date for a product, then in this case the consumer is greatly disadvantaged and the obligation for the producer to be responsible arises. About this, this study aims to examine and analyse the concept of product liability and producer liability due to expired products. This research is a legal research using a statutory and conceptual approach, while the legal materials used in this research are primary legal materials and secondary legal materials. The results of this study indicate that product liability arises due to defects in the product that can harm consumers, so that producer are obliged to provide compensation. One form of such defect is an expired product, which is not suitable for consumption. In this case, the manufacturer is responsible for providing compensation for any losses received by consumers due to defective products, including expired products

Justice in Disarray? Assessing the Legitimacy of the Paris Agreement After the U.S. Withdrawal

    Get PDF
The issue of climate change is a global environmental challenge that requires comprehensive collaboration between countries. The Paris Agreement was born as an international legal instrument under the auspices of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), with a nationally determined contributions (NDCs) approach and the principle of common but differentiated responsibilities. The United States, as one of the world's largest emitters, plays a key role in emissions reduction efforts and provides financial assistance to developing countries. However, the United States' unilateral decision to withdraw from the Paris Agreement during the Donald Trump administration, citing economic interests, has sparked debate regarding the binding force of international agreements. Through a normative legal approach and analysis of the 1969 Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties, it was found that the United States' withdrawal contradicts the provisions of Article 62 concerning a fundamental change of circumstances. This situation demonstrates the dilemma between national sovereignty and compliance with global commitments. Therefore, strengthening the enforcement and implementation mechanisms of international agreements in the environmental sector is necessary to ensure the achievement of global ecological justice
